Love these Dare quickies! This is a fast, flirty and very sexy read! The story is enjoyable and fun. Cameron and Trish are great characters and I love them together!
This is a fun, flirty, sexy office romance that was just what I needed. I loved the grouchy hero and the upbeat heroine. Ms. Robert’s stories are devoured so easily.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
3.75 stars–MAKE ME NEED is the fourth instalment in Katee Robert’s contemporary, adult MAKE ME erotic, romance Harlequin DARE series. This is tech specialist and co-owner of Tandem Security Cameron O’Clery, and PA Trish Livingston’s story line. MAKE ME NEED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Trish is the sister of Aaron Livingston (Make Me Yours #3).
Told from dual third person perspectives (Trish and Cameron) MAKE ME NEED follows the building relationship between tech specialist and co-owner of New York’s Tandem Security, Cameron O’Clery, and PA Trish Livingston. Desperate for a job and money, recent college graduate Trish Livingston accepts her brother’s offer to work at Tandem Security, a high tech cyber security firm co-owned by her brother Aaron and his friend Cameron O’Clery. From the outset, Trish’s position within the company, to redesign the offices and reception area, is met with derision by Cameron O’Clery, a man used to working alone. With Aaron on paternity leave, Cameron finds himself working side by side with Trish Livingston, the woman with whom he will fall in love. A working trip to London finds Trish and Cameron pushing the boundaries of work-place romance. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Trish and Cameron, and the potential fall-out as Trish is offered a position in California, a position she readily accepts knowing her time with Tandem Security is coming is only temporary.
The relationship between Trish and Cameron is a best friend’s little sister/work place romance. Trish and Cameron’s attraction to one another is immediate but Cameron tries to keep his distance from the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are reintroduced to Cameron’s partner and Trish’s brother Aaron Livingston but otherwise the secondary characters are limited to Trish’s anxiety ridden mother (via phone) and a client in London England.
MAKE ME NEED is a fast paced, sexy story. The premise is engaging and spicy; the romance is provocative; the characters are energetic and spirited. MAKE ME NEED is a delightful addition to Robert’s MAKE ME series.
I could not put this book down! I loved it from page one till the end.
Trish is a woman who is a little down but she most certainly isn’t out. She just needs a little money and time to regroup. In the meantime she has decided to work at her brothers company where she meets her brothers best friend Cameron.
Cameron acts like a grumpy bear through most of the book but yet she has a nice and sweet side to him. You just have to really look for it.
I liked the opposites attract aspect of this book. I also really like the banter between these two.
MAKE ME NEED is book four in the smoking hot Make Me series by Katee Robert and centers around a fashion maven wannabe and the security expert who just happens to be her brothers best friend and business partner.
Trish is an interesting character. She knows what she wants in life, she just doesn’t think she’s at a place to reach out and grab it just yet. It doesn’t take her long to get some confidence when she’s bringing the sexy man in the office next door to his knees though.
Cameron tries to be someone we dislike with his hard exterior, but he had me interested pretty quickly. He knows his best friend is going to flip his lid, but he simply can’t resist Trish. Watching them find their way past all of the obstacles around them is pure magic!
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast paced, steamy read with lots of snark weaved into the mix. Every book in this series has been quite yummy, and this particular one holds true to form.
Since its inception, I’ve found that it’s hit or miss with Harlequin Dare romances, and while Make Me Need is the fourth book in the author’s “Make Me” series, it’s the second one I’ve read, and having given the first novel a 5-star rating, sadly, I’m hard pressed to give this one a 3-star rating.
Make Me Need is a brother’s best friend romance, but it’s not particularly romantic. Trish Livingston hasn’t been able to find a job since she got her degree in sales and marketing, is tired of living at home with her controlling parents and needs to get out and be on her own. Her brother, Aaron, whose pregnant fiance has just given birth to their first child, has taken paternity leave from the company he and his best friend, Cameron O’Clery co-own, Tandem Security. Their office desperately needs a receptionist and a redecorating makeover, and Aaron offers Trish a more than generous salary to take on the job, and even rents her a pricey apartment within walking distance. It’s an offer she can’t refuse, but she’ll have to work with Aaron’s partner, the hunky, tall, dark, handsome and totally uncommunicative, Cameron, who she’s both attracted to and frustrated by on sight. Cameron, whose last name is O’Clery, led me to assume that he was of Irish heritage, but when Trish first encounters him, we learn that he’s African-American. I don’t have an issue with interracial relationships, but I haven’t the first clue why the author chose this option for her hero, since race has absolutely nothing to do with the story–Cameron could have been purple for all the difference it made.
Trish is pretty, smiling, perky, hard-working and spontaneous, and while Cameron is rather cold, distant and grumpy, she and Cameron strike sparks off each other from the moment they meet. Cameron knows it’s wrong to get involved with his employee, just as Trish knows better than to get involved with her boss, but that doesn’t stop them, and on a week-long business trip to London, the two can barely stay out out of bed long enough to conduct the business they are in London to conduct.
While the sex scenes are somewhat steamy, the abbreviated backstory of these two characters simply wasn’t enough for me to bond with or especially care for either character, and, as is typical with novels in Dare line, from the very beginning to the expected HEA ending, I found this short novel to be rather uneventful, lacing a plot, far too insta-love for my tastes, extremely abrupt and rather unfulfilling. It is, however, well-written, and not a bad read, but nowhere near as engaging as Ms. Robert’s first novel in this series. However, if you’re looking for a quick, short, sexy read, you may enjoy this novel more than I did.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
Make Me Need is a sexy workplace romance with her older brother’s best friend. Yes, you read that right. Jot, naughty fun with her older brother’s best friend. Sigh…
Cameron is the “robot” friend. The seemingly unfeeling, blunt @ssholish guy who is so hot he melts your brain! That’s what this poor mortal girl is up against. I mean really, how could she possibly fight her hormones against all Cameron is. I wont even tell you about his “skills” outside the office. Hello, handsome!
Make Me Need is the perfect pick me up for a midweek, weekend, or slow day! Sexy, fun, and sweet, Make Me Need has all the bases covered.

This is the story of Trisha, forced to move home with her parents, unable to find a job, after graduating from college, her brother, Aaron, offers her some work, at his company, while he takes his paternity leave. When Aaron’s wife goes into labor early, Trisha is forced to meet Aaron’s partner, Cameron, on her own. Sparks fly immediately, but Cameron doesn’t have much tact with people, and can be a bit of a jerk. Neither one is looking to be in a relationship, but the attraction eventually wins out, and things get more serious with them.
I really enjoyed reading this book, the characters are well developed, and have lots of steamy chemistry. This book is emotional, passionate, sexy, hot, and entertaining. I recommend this book, great for a rainy day.

So here is another steer away from what I normally am drawn too. This author though I have read a couple of hers so she got me to steer into this one. Even though this is another in a series I still ventured forward because the stubbornness of the two characters-Trish and Cameron call to you right away. This one also has a sizzle burn when touched also. It is a quick one with the flow being that of a one when two people get together things go fast. Good look at relationships with these two on what not to do so much but it that it happens more often. the chemistry is there while the wills hit heads but then you see it all come to a head. Like I said a quick one to give a hot escape.

This is a brother’s best friend/sister forbidden romance book. Trish is working at her brother’s company while he is on paternity leave. Cam is his business partner who becomes attracted to Trish even though he knows that he shouldn’t be. The chemistry between the two characters was there but that was it. It seems like the rest of the story was forced between the characters. It was an ok story. I wish that I would have read the other 3 books in this series. This book was a standalone and could be read without reading the others. I have read her other books and I will continue to read them but this one just didn’t hit the mark with me.
I received an ARC of this book on Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
A wonderful sizzling sexy read that is the perfect afternoon escape. It’s a great blend of an office romance and best friend’s little sister forbidden romance. Trish and Cameron are great characters and their story is fun, flirty, and definitely a book I recommend for a quick lazy read.
A hot and steamy forbidden workplace romance! Trish has a happy facade, helping out at her brothers company while he’s enjoying paternity leave. Unfortunately, Cameron seems to be the one person she can’t keep her mask up around. After multiple attempts at seduction and being brutally rebuffed by Cameron, Trish is taking the refusals personally. Make Me Need is even more enjoyable if you’ve read the Make Me series in order, since you’ll see previous characters making an occasional appearance. You’ll definitely need a cold shower after reading this one!
Trish takes a temp job in the 2-man high tech company her brother owns with his partner, Cameron. They fall in love, of course, in the best-friend’s sister romance. It takes place over a few weeks & the romance ramps up real fast.
The hero is well drawn. A complex man more comfortable with software than people. I found the heroine’s motivations murky & she is kind of snarky. We get that she has suffered some sort of career setback that is making her question her path in life & she is quite down on herself. For most of the story she appears to be running from her helicopter mother rather than TO something. There are some inconsistencies with her that I won’t detail because that would be spoiling — but things like saying (or doing) something irrational that provokes Cameron, then giving him a bad time about getting mad because he got provoked. Cameron has the patience of a saint.
Overall not bad, but I liked the hero a whole lot better than the heroine.
****On a side note: I’m beginning to dislike workplace romance stories where the subordinate repeatedly mouths off to the boss and gets away with it. In the real working world, nobody is too essential that they can get away with being rude and be disrespectful to the boss. A heroine disrespecting a hero-boss — especially when the heroine is Caucasian & the boss is a person of color — isn’t provocative or sexy to me. Its just rude. I don’t mind snark or banter. But, come on. Be real.
Arc provided by Net Galley.
I just love the best friend’s little sister trope, and this one was fun and steamy.
Trish Livingston hasn’t had any of the things in her life plan go right. She’s the youngest of three kids and when she finally left for college her mom’s empty nest hit hard. Trish was constantly trying to manage her mom’s anxiety, and she became good at putting on a smiling face and smoothing things over for people. When she didn’t have any luck finding a job in her field after graduation, she moved back in with her parents, so when she left again, things with her mom got even worse. Her older brother Aaron (the hero from book 3) offered her a job as his company’s secretary/designer/client pleaser, etc. She felt like it was a pity job, but she wasn’t really in a position to say no, so she took it. The only hard part would be dealing with Aaron’s perpetually grumpy business partner.
Cameron O’Clery is kind of a jerk. He’s blunt, he has no tact, and he doesn’t realize what he’s saying is offensive half the time until after he’s said it. He co-owns a cyber security firm with his best friend from college, and Aaron handles most of the client-facing aspects, with good reason. But Aaron is on paternity leave and everything falls on Cam. When Aaron suggests hiring Trish, Cam figures he could use the help, but he wasn’t sure if she was completely qualified. Turns out she’s an asset, and more than that, he’s more attracted to her than he’s ever been to anyone before.
Trish and Cam had mega chemistry from the start, and I enjoyed watching their will-they-or-won’t-they vibe. From the beginning they really seemed to understand each other, and realized how important that could be, when not many other people understand either of them. But Trish was so attached to her PLAN, and Cam just wasn’t a part of it, and neither of them saw how that could really change. Even when things started deepening and changing between them, it didn’t change their outlook for the future.
I really enjoyed this couple, and appreciated the very real challenges they faced, as well as how they eventually chose to deal with them. My only real complaint is I felt there should’ve been some sort of conclusion to the whole thing with Trish’s mom. It seemed like something had to give, but there was really no finish to that part of the story, and I was a bit disappointed with that. But, I really enjoyed Cam’s answer to their problems as a couple, and what he chose to do to solve them. He was a great hero, and he was pretty much all in from the start, even without fully realizing what it meant, and I always love that. Trish knew what she wanted out of life, but she didn’t always seem to know how to go about getting it. She learned a lot from jumping into her relationship with Cam without a plan, for the first time in her life. She took a chance, and it was scary, but it was right. I think we can all take a lesson from that.
Overall I really enjoyed this story. I loved that Trish’s brother’s reaction was only really a concern since he was also her boss. It wasn’t a big focus of the story as it often is with friend’s sister books. Also, I liked that Trish and Becka, her brother’s fiance, have become such good friends. I like seeing women in supportive friend relationships with each other, and not as adversaries. I really love this author’s work, and I’ve enjoyed this series so much!
Steamy office romance where opposites attract, leading to an entertaining happily ever after. I would have loved just a bit more intimacy outside the bedroom, but it was an overall good read. Tetering in the fence between steamy and erotic, with strong language.
Opposites attract in this steamy office romance by Katee Robert. Make Me Need features great dialogue, likeable characters and plenty of hot, hot steamy scenes. And of course a HEA 🙂

I was very eager to get to this installment from the ending of Make Me Yours. While this is a hot quick read, something was missing for me to fully enjoy it like I did with the other three in the “Make Me” series. It could be the story plot, or the main characters not connecting enough for me. Overall, I will still continue to read Katee’s work.
I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
