Royal St. James got her name when she was born. Not because her mother loved her royally, but because Royal was a giant pain in the ass. She’s spent her entire life fighting to live, and the last thing she needs is to deal with some pretty-boy police officer who wouldn’t know a hardship if it came up and bit him in the…you know.Justice Rector wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was … mouth. He was raised to work hard and always fight for what he believed in. His father was a cop, and ever since he could remember, he wanted to be one, too.
It was a complete coincidence that he ends up going undercover and meeting Royal St. James. It was just one day, a single moment in time. All routine.
Just do the buy, make the bust, and get out.
But Royal St. James, aptly named, screws everything up. Royally.
All of a sudden, he has a decision to make: blow his cover and save the girl, or save himself.
Of course, he does the most stupid thing possible.
By saving the girl who most assuredly did not want to be saved.

Make Me is the fourth book in the KDP Motorcycle Patrol series by the hilarious Lani Lynn Vale. I can’t think of another way to describe Lani’s books except, addicting! When I see one hit my kindle I’m like a kid at Christmas and can’t wait to start reading. And then I want to read slowly so it never ends, but I can’t help but hurry because it’s so darn good! Sweet Mama, these KDP cops are something else! I’m at a little disadvantage since I didn’t read the Dixie Warden series or the KDP SWAT series, but I’m not lost by any means, just wish I had read them so I knew more about the characters we meet! We’re meeting the kids from those books in this series and I love that! Justice is big and scary, but he’s so sweet and mushy too! He’s undercover and when he first sees the red-headed siren he wants her. He has no idea who she is, but that doesn’t matter. When she gets caught up in something dangerous, he ends up with a house guest in his bed and in his life. Royal hasn’t had the greatest life. She never felt wanted or loved, but she’s living her life the best she can. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and sometimes her mouth gets her in trouble. Now she’s shackled to Justice until she’s out of danger. She wants him, Lord help her. They try to stay away from each other, but it’s useless. The attraction is just too crazy! When they give in it’s hot, sexy and sweet! Justice’s protective instincts mixed with his loving ones had me fanning myself! His face, his words, those uniform pants? Yes, please! What happens when it all comes crashing down? Will they admit their feelings before it’s too late. I loved this story! I know I say that about all of Lani’s books, but I do! They are just the perfect mix of sexy, hilarious, sweet and suspenseful. I loved Justice’s parents and the relationship he has with them! I can’t get enough of these KDP men!
Oh this series… I just love it. The KPD are a team of HOT A$$ men in tight police motorcycle uniforms, think CHiPs in 2019. Throw in some seriously strong willed heroins and BOOM perfect book. This perfect heroin was fighting for her brother, herself and her community. With the father from hell, a brother in a wheel chair trying to be a man, and a drug dealer that has no conscience, only the best bad things can happen, and boy do they. Add the perfect alpha male to save the day, fall in love, and make all the wrongs right, and you just swoon.
This is a must read!!
When diving in to a Lani Lynn Vale book, I know I’m going to be in for a wild ride, and she didn’t disappoint with Make Me!
Justice. Where do I even start with this sexy, alpha beast of a man. He has this gruff exterior that takes no crap from anyone, but when it comes to those he loves? He will do anything for them.
Royal was badass. She takes crap from no one, and looks out for her friends and family. (Well…. those deserving of it. One of the family members in particular can go to h3ll, but you will find out more about that douche as you read 🙂 ).
The twists and turns throughout the story were great, and the climax had me on the edge of my seat.
And, that epilogue. Wow. I feel like I was right there witnessing everything that happened with how well it was described (Not sure if that is a good thing or not )
This was a great addition to the KPD series, and I can’t wait for more!!
Lani Lynn Vale continues to surprise me with her skill as an author. She creates characters that I really enjoy and storylines that constantly pull me. And MAKE ME has just blown them all out of the water. This book had everything that I love in a romance and took it up several notches. Justice and Royal were beautiful together as characters, but it was really the overall interactions of ALL the characters in this book that made it so freaking good. From early on in the book I became invested with the characters, and that just continued as the story went on.
The characters were totally enjoyable as a whole, but they were also perfect as separate individuals. Royal really pulled at my heartstrings. What she goes through with her family brought a couple tears to my eyes and made me want too be able to reach into a book and throat punch someone! But alas, not an available option so I continued to read and was constantly impressed with how she handled herself and the situations that she found herself in.
But Justice!!! OMG is he such a perfect blend of Loki and Channing, two of my all time favorite characters in LLV’s books. He is funny and protective in equal measures and how he reacts to certain things made me laugh or nod my head in agreement through the book. My favorite scene in the whole story was his reaction in the station with the table … so freaking awesome!!!
Overall, I really loved this book. The characters were amazing and really tugged at my heartstrings. The humor in this book is freaking spot on as is the drama and danger levels. But to me the impact was the emotional investment that I made with the characters. I went along for their ride and cried as certain parts while laughing hard at others. I felt shock at one point and then elation. I felt fear in another part and then I felt utter happiness.
So, two thumbs up from me and happy reading!!
I’m never gonna get enough of Lani Lynn Vale’s books! Every book I read just makes me fall more in love with her books.
This book was no different. Royall was another badass heroine that you will so want to be BFF’s with. And her and Justice together, LOL… You will love it.
Justice is undercover and then this girl comes out of nowhere, what should he do, ignore her or blow his cover. And what do you think happened from there… I mean he is a ‘Lani’ hero…
You will love everything about this story. The awesome back and forth banter, the angst, the suttle suspense, everything you would expect from a Lani Lynn Vale book. If you have never read any of her books, start at the beginning you wont be sorry!
I’m completely in love with Justice. Shut up and stop judging me for saying I’m in love with every hero Lani Lynn Vale writes. I can’t help it. It’s out my my hands. Really, you should blame her for making such irresistible men. Make Me is one of those books that puts you through the wringer. Not in the nonstop ugly cry way, but in that hit you in the feels over and over in myriad of different emotions kind of way. I’m not exaggerating when I say I laughed, I raged, I swooned and I teared up. I did all that and more while reading Royal and Justice’s story.
First of all Royal is amazeballs. She’s got that signature sass that I love from Lani’s heroines but on top of that she’s also one heck of a strong woman with a big heart. To say her family life and past has been heartbreaking is an understatement. Thy doesn’t stop her from being an genuine loving person for even a second though. Then Justice. Sweet, sexy, steal my heart in 2.5 seconds Justice. Coming in and showing Royal exactly what it is to be loved I swear I had hearts in my eyes constantly because of that man.
Every time I get a book by this author in my hands I know I am going to love it and Make Me is no exception. Royal has had to grow up motherless with a father that can’t stand her, borderline hates her. She then has to look after her half brother because his third wife doesn’t want to deal with him after his accident. I really feel for Jimmy also because he is stuck in between his sister that loves him and a father that can’t stand her. Then in comes Justice that takes Royal by storm. He has an image to uphold, rough and tough on the exterior but he is just a big softy inside. The ever present undercurrent of danger kept me on the edge of my seat constantly flipping the pages to see what happened next. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next installment of the series!!
This is the fourth book in the KPD Motorcycle Patrol series. It is a stand alone, but you will get hooked and want to read all of Lani’s books!
If you have read her other books, Justice is the son of Loki and Channing.
I love both Royal and Justice. Royal thinks she’s a royal pain, she can be sometimes. But it’s her father that’s the pain. My heart broke for how she was treated by him.
I love how Justice stood up for her.
I love getting these second generation books.
But now I’m going to want a third generation series!
Now there is drama. You have Natalie and Marcus.
I want a book for Jimmy!
“There’s a fine line between ‘I should say that’ and ‘I should talk to a therapist.’ -Royals secret thoughts
“I wish girls who wanted boobs and girls who didn’t want as much boob could do a transfer like we can do with Venmo.” – text from Royal to Justice
Make me
Book four in the KPD motorcycle patrol series is here and features Justice and Royal Royal is a welder and works in a bad part of town, but she has the day off and checks in on her brother Jimmy, who’s paralysed from the waist down. Royal bumps into Justice a few times in the bad part of town and eventually Justice reveals who he is and what he’s doing in that part of town
Loved this story and I hope we eventually find out more about Jimmy and the girl from the diner Looking forward to Lock’s story next
Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster with this book! There are definitely highs and lows, lots of laughs, and a few tears. Royal and Justice are the kind of couple that all book couples should aspire to! They bring on the feels, and make sure the reader is completely invested in their story!
Royal’s life has been complete crap. There really is no other way of putting it. The only bright spot in her life is her brother, Jimmy, and even then, there are issues. She ends up being in a place she has no business being in, and gets drawn into something she should have stayed far away from. But it puts her in Justice’s path, so there is that…..
Justice idolizes his father, and wants to follow in his footsteps. And he’s doing a pretty good job, until a glimpse of red hair turns his life upside down, and he has to make a decision that could change everything.
This book was emotional, fun, and kept me on my toes! I never knew what was coming next (which I love!) Justice and Royal had a fiery connection right from the beginning, which kept the book moving at lightning pace! I enjoyed the glimpse we got of characters from a previous series, and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Lock!
Make Me by Lani Lynn Vale is the perfect name for this story. If you have read any of the KPD Motorcycle Patrol Series you know there are all the hot guys and all the hot women and then there are the small town adventures. Well this story takes that to the next step. It may be book number 4, but dang, does Lani Lynn take you on a wild ride.
Royal St James is exactly what you expect when you hear redhead. Fiery, a little wild, rebellious, strong, committed, and true to herself. Fear does not run through her veins, even when maybe it should. She is the woman you want beside you when you get in a bar fight. She packs a punch. And she packs more than a punch on her shoulders.
Justice Rector is the new guy. Hiding the real him has been something he has done well in his life. He is not what many would expect. If looks were any indicator, people would know better, but he is a pro at making sure they don’t But Justice is not without his own failings, and Royal does not help with those issues at all.
Lani Lynn had me laughing at one minute and cheering the next. As I read and watched these two discover what makes the other tick, I also enjoyed the building of time in their growing relationship. What a fun ride and what a great ending. Well done young lady, very well done!
Royal is scrappy. I love that. Her Dad treats her horribly and has as long as she can remember.
Justice returns home from the military ready to start life with his girlfriend until he overhears her trying to get back with an ex.
When he came back, he purchased a mechanic shop to work on his hobby of rebuilding cars and it ended up being the perfect opportunity for him to go undercover. Across the street from the garage was a machine shop and he watches the girl across the street welding fascinated by her. Royal works there to make her Dad mad and because the owner looks out for her. The last thing Justice needs is to get to know her, but when she manages to get in trouble with the thug that Justice is trying to get evidence on and he has to choose between blowing his cover and saving her. There is no other choice, but to save the girl he is falling for.
This is one of the best books so far in the KDP Motorcycle Series. I love both Justice and Royal and I can’t wait to see the next story in this series to unfold!
Lani Lynn Vale is becoming one of my favorite authors. Make Me is another take on the KPD Motorcycle Patrol and is so fun, sexy and a very good book for romance. Justice is the ultimate police man hero and he and his family are a lot of fun! Royal has been through a lot with her horrible father and brother having so much health issues, but she has survived. Now, she is in trouble because of a gangster and Justice is the one who saves her.
The book is so full of these wonderful characters and you will recognize characters from previous books that makes this a full circle.
I just loved this book!
I love these books from LLV, each one makes me fall just a little bit more. She always gives me a read that will draw me in straight away and keep me captivated throughout.
I simply loved Justice and Royal, they couldn’t be more opposite but the chemistry between them was off the charts. What I loved about Royal most was her sass and loyalty. She didn’t stand back when she probably should have, she stood up for what was right.
I’m not sure where LLV is getting her witt from but I love it! She always manages to mix some suspense with some seriously hot chemistry and humour.
I am always excited to see what LLV is going to bring us next and I am seriously intrigued by Lock and counting down the days until Sinners Are Winners is out.
Make Me by Lani Lynn Vale is the fourth book in her brand new KPD Motorcycle Patrol series. I remain absolutely intrigued with the peripheral characters to this series knowing they must have a book out there just from the snippets contained in this series. {So many books, so little time!} It seems like this is a next-generation series to the author’s Code 11-KPD SWAT Series and also a spin-off or set in the same world as her Bear Bottom Guardians MC series.
Anyway – back to the review for MAKE ME – Royal St. James is despised by her own father, is sure she can’t ever do anything right in his eyes, and wants nothing more than to make her brothers life as easy as possible. Having finally found a job she enjoys she is putting her skills to use working at a welding shop on 11th street. Not the best neighborhood, by any means, especially when she learns her brother, who was working at the store across the street from her, is attacked. Her brother who is in a wheelchair! Determined to find out the name of the thug that chose to attack a man in a wheelchair she bites off more than she can chew with psycho responsible.
Justice Rector is working undercover at his garage across from the welding shop Royal works at. This means he can’t get too involved when his mark starts beating up the guy in the wheelchair – but he does stop him and makes sure the wheelchair isn’t damaged. Now if he could just stop the beautiful redhead with the great backside from asking questions he may be able to get the dirt he needs and put this scumbag away for good. Too bad she has no intention of keeping quiet.
Well-written and fast-paced this is a sexy and outrageous insta-love story and I’m most definitely addicted to Lani Lynn Vale’s writing at this point. Loved it! Enjoy!
Make Me can be read as a standalone within the KPD series. This is the second book I’ve read by Lani Lynn Vale and both times I’ve enjoyed the ride she took me on. She knows how to combine suspense, emotions, and sultry-steamy bedroom times all into one very good book.
Justice Rector is working undercover for the police department. His objective is to bring down the corruption on Eleventh Street, which all comes down to one man, Marcus Gomez. His operation was going fine until one feisty redhead gets involved, royally screwing up his plans.
Royal St. James works in a shop down on Eleventh Street and she doesn’t like the corruption anymore than the next person, but when her brother gets beaten to within an inch of his life she gets angry and goes looking for answers. This leads her to Justice which also leads her to trouble.
Soon Royal and Justice have to work together to get Marcus’ trail off of her, what it also does is push them both together and ignite a chemistry that is explosive.
Is it possible to clean up Eleventh Street and fall in love at the same time? Anything’s possible under the watch of the KPD.
It’s been a short while since i read a boo by Lani Lynn Vale and it’s got me questioning my life. Like why do i wait so long into reading her books again.
Once again i haven’t read the first 3 books in this series but I’m going back! I promise! But not that it really matters since i read this book perfectly fine without the others but call me ocd with books.
Justice and Royal was absolutely amazing. I literally loved every word i read from them.
Royal was strong and held her head up high when things got tough, her dad i have some strong feelings towards that man and none of them are nice.
Justice was omg amazing. When you first read him you think you have him sussed but he’s like a onion, he’s got layers and the more you get into him the more i fell in love.
So overall absolutely amazing book and I’m gonna need the rest of this series future and previous books.
5 Royal Pain Stars
Royal St. James may be a pain in the a$$, but I absolutely adored her. Feisty, loyal, and too nosy for her own good, her mouth tends to keep her in trouble constantly. When her nosiness gets her noticed by the wrong man, Justice Rector has to break his cover to save her. I loved these two together. Their chemistry and banter is something all couples should strive to have. Throw in the steaminess of their sexy times, the laugh out loud moments that are a given from LLV, and that touch of suspense makes Make Me another fantastic read in the KPD series.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
Oh Justice and Royal were amazing! Lots of humor, some suspense and hot steam to light up my kindle. It’s always fun reading this author’s books because not only do we get to meet and love new characters but we also get to see some of our favorites from past books. Her books always suck me in. I know that I’m going to get an alpha hero, a strong heroine and an amazing storyline. Make Me didn’t disappoint. I don’t want to give to much away so I’ll leave it at that. Fans are going to love Justice and his total alpha ways, and Royal and her off the wall attitude. 5 stars #2OCCJD
Romance perfection…
This author is all about family, love and the topsy-turvy reality of daily life. Her characters are sarcastic, grumpy, funny, loving, and irresistible. I even love to dislike the evil ones! The KPD series has been all about that and I can’t get enough….
Royal never had it easy and I ached for the complicated family she had to deal with. She loved them (most of them anyway) so she went above and beyond to make sure they had what they needed. Even if she got the short end of the straw. Despite the hard knocks, she was funny and loyal, and always up for the latest challenge….
Justice was a great character too but in an entirely different way. He was the grumpy part of this duet but deliciously handsome in those KPD uniforms – and absolutely wonderful with Royal. He was going to watch out for her, no negotiations, and he would go above and beyond. For her… The chemistry between was hot and real, making me smile and laugh through it all.
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED their story and couldn’t wait to finish it so I could start a re-read right away! Keep these stories coming please, keep them coming…
