Never trust a man who answers the door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk. That should’ve been my first sign.I write about guys like him for a living—sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body is the ultimate temptation, but his condescending personality makes him a classic bad boy.And I want nothing to do with that.… nothing to do with that.
Writing romance novels comes with its perks—traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head—but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you.
Meeting him was fate, but falling for him was inevitable.
And forgetting him will be impossible.
This is a complete STANDALONE novel — filled with plenty of humor, steam, & romance! 18 & up only due to explicit sexual content, language, and adult content.

This was my first book by Kennedy Fox and it was a great read. This was a buddy read that I did with a friend and I’m so glad that she picked it!
Ethan has a tragic past and the whole small town knows about it. He doesn’t do relationships and for good reason at least until Vada shows up renting the cottage behind his house for a week.
Vada is an author who is trying to get away from the big city in order to get some writing inspiration since she is so far behind. However, it seems the only inspiration she can get is from Ethan.
Can these two handle a no strings attached relationship for the week or will they be tested and feelings challenged?
Just really enjoyed the story line and the characters.
I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. I loved the characters and all of the steamy sex and especially the happy ending!
I always love reading about authors writing in books., and her recreating scenes or using scenes for her books is soo
Hot! His past is so sad. I wanted o hug him! And the piercing was a nice, sexy af touch!
Recommend reading— great strory
When I picked this book up, I was totally taken with the blurb; stories that have Romance writers and their muses is one of my favourite tropes/sub-tropes.
Usually, in the case of novellas, I can and do overlook loads of stuff because, well if I wanted details I would go read a full-length novel, Here, I just felt that the authors touched quite a few topics, opened them for discussion but never actually got around to completely closing them.
At times it felt like too many things was going on at the same time without any closure and I just couldn’t fully enjoy reading this novella as much as I was hoping to.
Loved reading this book! It was so easy to get “lost” in the story!! Between the romance, humor, and snarkiness I was both laughing and rolling my eyes.
Kennedy Fox always delivers! I adored this book and the rest in this series. This book, and the series, is a quick, easy read that will keep you entertained!
Wow! Superbly well written. It brought out so many emotions in me. Ethan Rochester is sweet as cotton candy and as hot as an inferno. His story touched my soul. My husband also suddenly passed away and it’s been two years and I agree with Ethan the pain never goes away. Ethan’s feels are my feelings so I cried a lot but he also made me laugh and giggle. He’s patient and forgiving with Vada even though she broke his heart and he waited a year for her. Honestly if I could I would give this book a 4.7 only because of the small glitch in Vada’s personality and here’s why. For the entire story Vada was bold and strong and didn’t allow her past failed relationships or jacked up childhood stop her from being with Ethan but one well placed lie by a woman had her leaving him for a year without ever talking to him. I would rather the authors kept her bold and a risk taker. I know that that may be knit picking but other than that the story was perfect. I love Kennedy Fox. Their stories are alway I interesting and wonderfully written.
Vada felt like she was in one of her romance novels when she caught herself staring at the chiseled chest of Ethan, her South Carolina landlord. All she wanted to do was work on her latest book, break out of her writer’s block and relax with her words. She never expected to come face to face with Mr. Sex on a Stick the minute she arrived. He is definitely a distraction that she doesn’t need even though she can’t stop looking at him.
Ethan was intrigued by his houseguest with the bright green eyes and cute name. He never knows what to expect when he rents out his guest cottage and he was pleasantly surprised to see Vada, with her smart remarks and city girl style. He spends all of his time alone and it was flattering that Vada was checking him out, which was why he answered the door without his shirt on; just to see if he could get a rise out of her, and he certainly did. This should be a fun week and you never know; Vada may end up liking him after all.
I have read this book many times and I never get tired of it. Vada has a brazen attitude that keeps Ethan on his toes, which he seems to like about her. He finds himself slowly emerging from his solitude due to the chemistry that exists between them. Sometimes love surprises you and appears out of nowhere. It is up to you to decide what to do with it.
I fell in love with Ethan right from the start. He was a smartass, and very cocky. But he met his match in Vada, she gave it back to him. Such a great read.
This book is a must read. I was hooked from the beginning to the end. You will love this book .
I seriously could not put this book down once I started reading it! Another great book by Brooke Cumberland and Lyra Parish AKA Kennedy Fox! I have read their books since the beginning and I can say I am a fan for life! I literally finished this book within a few hours of reading and OMG I absolutely fell in love with Ethan Rochester! He is so dirty but in such a good way. Where Vada gives him her spit fiery attitude right back and keep him on his toes. The insta-love between the two, just gives you so many feels in such a good way. When both their secrets come out, you have to wonder if they are going to let the secrets keep them apart or if they are going to fight part them to be together. I absolutely loved this book! I cannot wait for their next book to come out!!
Vada and Ethan’s story is sweet and tragic. Vada has sworn off bad boys and rents a cottage to finish working on her latest novel. Ethan is her landlord, an arrogant, snarky man with a tragic past that makes him keep women at arm’s length. Their story is a well-written emotional read.
Oh my. This is an unexpected story. Yes, there is a hot man with incredible abs but there is so much more going on with Ethan. He is a man that knew true love and then fate shattered his world. He has hidden his heart away ever since. When Vada shows up on his doorstep to rent his guest cottage for a week, well, this feisty, take no prisoners woman is a punch in his gut. He is shocked at how she doesn’t take his crap. Vada has trust issues. Her success rate with relationships is awful which really isn’t great when she needs inspiration for the romance novels she writes. After a long day of traveling, her hormones get a kick when a shirtless Ethan answers his door. But Ethan is everything she works to avoid; the bad boy never works out for her. These two strike up an uneasy connection as they both like to push each other’s buttons. When they do give in to that “one-night,” well, their connection is combustible. Vada loves that Ethan knows just what to do with his ‘snake.’ Love is never easy, and both have ghosts that they need to overcome, will they take that risk? Throw in a crazy rooster, amazing Aunt Millie and Nora and you have a fabulous fun romantic escape. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
The story was really good…from Vada’s POV to Ethan’s.
I was hooked up, even though some parts got me really sad and crying, over all it was perfect!
2.5 but I’ll bump it to 3. Generally, I like Kennedy Fox’s writing and find her stories entertaining. There were parts of this book that were fun and entertaining. However, I felt that everything happened way too quickly and there really wasn’t much in the way of character or story development.
Ethan is the resident bad boy. Vada is a romance writer who writes about bad boys. She’s also got a history of falling for them, which, of course, never works out for her because they are all more or less douchebags. Ethan is different. Yeah, he’s got the whole bad boy vibe and there is a lot about him that screams bad boy. Really, he’s sweet, caring, and definitely has a romantic streak that’s well hidden. He’s also suffered tragic losses which makes him wary of relationships. Vada has just plain sworn off relationships because she’s so horrible in picking guys.
This story is really short and it goes quickly. If you’ve got an afternoon that you have no idea what to do with this isn’t a horrible book to pick up. It’s not one of my favorites by any means.
I enjoyed “Falling for the Bad Boy” (nook). It is my favorite of the Kennedy Fox books which I’ve read up to this point. The only thing I did not like was that Vada and Ethan were apart for a full year. That was too long for my romantic heart.
I really liked this book and the characters. The only reason this was only 4 stars for me was Vada. I liked her well enough she was feisty and independent, but also extremely insecure and let her bad past relationships interfere with her happiness. When someone tries to sabotage she budding relationship she runs instead of confronting and listening. I hate that it took her so long to get her head out of her behind I mean geez, poor Ethan had an extremely tragic past and yet he opened himself up to finding love again. Other than that I thought the overall story was great. Their banter was funny and I thought they were super cute together. Their chemistry was hot. I look forward to reading more by these authors.
I quite enjoyed this book. Lots of steamy love scenes. Loved Ethan.
