You wouldn’t believe Dex Riggs and I are from the same town. He’s the ultimate bad boy; I’m the one who goes by the book. He’s a sexy former cop with a shady past; I’m the girl who married her high school sweetheart. But now my marriage is over, I’m burned out on my business, and worst of all, I never got the baby I wanted. And now I never will.Unless Dex is willing to make a deal.I get a baby; he … deal.
I get a baby; he gets… me. For a little while. Once I’m knocked up, we’ll go our separate ways. That’s the rule.
I’ve never broken a rule. Dex has broken all of them.
Which rule will we break first?

Make Me Beg by Julie Kriss – Dex talks a big game, but he is a giant marshmallow! As Lauren Parker starts peeling back the layers on the Riggs boy who gave her her first kiss, Dex finds himself looking for a solution to the problem that led him to quit the police force. For the first time in a long time both Dex and Lauren have something to fight for: each other. This was a perfect ending! Happy Reading!
The final book in the Riggs Brothers’ series was even better than I could have imagined. Dex was so much kinder and more supportive and just more amazing then I could have imagined. And I loved the fact that he didn’t suddenly develop feelings for Lauren out of no where. This was essentially a second chance romance in my opinion. Even if their first chance was very small and really nothing more than a moment. It was a missed moment and when this story kicks off they’re getting a second go. It may have started off as one thing, but it was also obvious that it was a bit more than either character wanted to admit to. And then when learning Dex’s secret, it kind of made me love him even more. Because it was just another example of how he was a better guy then he’d ever been given credit for. And I loved that Lauren pretty much saw the good in him all along. She was perfect for him and I was so happy for their HEA.
Two of my favorite narrators brought this story to life. I could listen to Erin Mallon and Joe Arden narrate just about anything with little to no hesitation, but this story was an absolute joy to listen to in part due to their amazing performance.
I will happily be looking forward to more books by this author and these narrators in future.
I have been anticipating this story since the beginning. I knew there was history between Lauren and Dex from way back when. And even though they were barely in the same room together I could feel the tension.
Dex was such a tortured soul, I was dying to know what was behind all of his mysterious brooding crazy vibes. I had all of these theories and I was way off but I really enjoyed the ride. I didn’t really know what to expect with him. Was he truly a messed up acehole or was he just lost and hiding his worries in oblivion.
Luckily Lauren had the answers to some of Dex’s riddles and she looked past the rumours and didn’t care what anyone thought. And I think her complete lack of hesitation with Dex was the best part of their story. She really looked at him and saw his pain and didn’t believe he was anything but who he was. And she didn’t care what anyone else thought.
These two were great together and I loved watching Dex get a life he deserved. Seeing the brothers all come together as a family in their own unique way was half of the fun. And the epilogue at the end was a great way to cap off the series. The Rigg’s brothers really did go through hell to get their happily ever after and I really enjoyed watching it all unfold.
The author truly saved the best for last… Sorry Riggs brothers, Dex is now my favorite. I love you all, but Dex… well, he’s Dex.
I’ve been waiting for Julie Kriss to give us Dex’s story since book one of the series. I knew there was so much more to him than he let on, and Make Me Beg did not disappoint!
Newly divorced, Lauren is unhappy, overworked, and trying to find herself again. She also desperately wants a baby, which is just one of the many reasons her marriage failed.
Dex is the ultimate bad boy. A former cop that left the force under shady pretenses, he’s got major secrets that not even his brother’s seem to know the answers to.
When Dex offers Lauren the thing she wants most in this world, help making a baby, she can’t say no. And while the sparks fly as their heat level climbs, their friendship grows into something no one could have expected. But, when Dex’s past threatens not only his future but his family’s and Lauren’s as well, he’ll have to do everything he can to put things to right and keep everyone safe so he can keep hold of the one thing he didn’t even know he wanted . . . a family.
Make Me Beg was an epic conclusion to the Riggs Brothers series. What seems like an odd pairing is really a phenomenal couple. For the first time ever, Dex wants more than a one night stand from a woman. And, Julie realizes just how much she settled in her marriage with her ex. They both deserve so much more and watching their friendship and relationship blossom was everything. When Dex is forced to face his past head on, he finds himself caught in a firestorm. He knows the choices he makes now will affect everything and everyone he loves. And, his story . . . . completely unexpected and quite the twist!
Julie Kriss also gave readers quite the gift with the epilogue where we get to play catch up with each couple and see where they are two years in the future. It was a fantastic ending and I adored it. While I loved every book and couple, Julie knocked Lauren and Dex’s story out of the park. 5 stars!
I loved these brothers! I wished there were more! this story was fantastic!
This is the fourth and last book in the Riggs Brothers Series. I love the Riggs Brothers! Dex and Lauren’s story is sweet, suspenseful, and sexy! They share a strong and sizzling chemisty. I love the Epilogue. This is a beautiful ending to this Series. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did an amazing job with the narration.
Make Me Beg is the last book in the Riggs Brother series. It’s the story of Lauren and the eldest brother Riggs brother Dex, who happens to be her first kiss. She’s always had a soft spot for him, but everyone else saw him as a dirty cop. After she gets divorced and he raises some eyebrows by moving back to town, they grow closer and end up agreeing to have a baby together.
This story has a lot of steam! Lauren and Dex have great chemistry and they balance each other out. I haven’t read or listened to any of the other books in this series (or by this author, for that matter) but I enjoyed listening to Dex and Lauren’s story so much that I’m now thinking about getting the rest of the books in this series. This book really can be read as a standalone—I didn’t feel like there were some parts of the story missing.
Narrators Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did not disappoint. They did an excellent job bringing the story of Dax and Lauren to life.
Make Me Beg is a contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV and done in dual narration. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
I listened to the audio book. Oh, this was so much fun to listen to. I will be purchasing the e-book now as well. The narrators did such a great job of bringing the characters to life. I haven’t read nor listened to a book by Julie Kriss before but I will be picking up more. The story itself sucks you in and I loved hearing Dex and Lauren’s story. I couldn’t stop listening. They’re total opposite but exactly what they need in each other. You won’t be disappointed.
When I started to read the Riggs brothers series, I had the feeling that Dex’s books was going to be the most epic, and to be sure it was! He was the oldest and the craziest of the brothers, always drinking and smoking weed, totally irreverent, sarcastic, a jerk, a-holish, and above all, fearless. I immediately suspected he had some secret issue that was making him like that, apart from their crappy childhood and abusive father. Many of his actions came from the hate he had for his father, but I just knew there was something more and he wasn’t the a-hole his brothers and everyone else in town suspected. His story was one of redemption and I loved it. Great finale to the series!
In spite of their bad boy images, these four brothers are decent men who had a bad deal on their childhood. They grew up as savages and had no moral compass. The fact they are decent men is a testament to their inner core decency. What no one ever knew is that Lauren’s first kiss came from Dex. And what no one ever knew was that they didn’t get to be together at sixteen due to bad timing and miscommunication.
Now that Lauren is divorced, she’s a little aimless because she just doesn’t feel like taking up working at her beauty parlor. Helping Kate start up her business (Riggs brothers #3) gave her an idea of starting a consulting job for business starters and that’s helping her. But what is making her unhappy and feeling like a failure is her incapacity for having babies. When Dex learns about it, he offers to help and their project is on.
Lauren believes in Dex and she doesn’t believe the tales about his leaving the Detroit PD. Rumors in town are that he was a corrupt officer, that he was fleeing corrupt charges and that he had a breakdown of sorts. Confident in his inner decency, she knows there’s more to the story and she sets out to find out.
“People looked at Dex Riggs, and they saw a washed-up cop. A failure. A guy who smoked and drank too much, who didn’t cut his hair, who didn’t buy new shirts. They saw a guy who walked the edge because he wanted to. And I knew what people said: that I was flat-out f-ing crazy. What they didn’t see was a guy who was being eaten alive from the inside. Every minute of every day. Like he’d swallowed acid and it was festering in his stomach, pumping through his bloodstream. A guy who had had to make a choice and live with it.”
Here we learn the whole truth and we get to enjoy Dex’s and Lauren’s efforts to get her pregnant. We get to meet the real Dex and get to like him. All the moments in the previous books where he helped out his brothers gave me an inkling that he was not the jerk everyone took him for. And I was right!
I loved how he was with Lauren, and I loved how direct Lauren was with him. They were both real with each other, and the times he was a jerk with her, he was really protecting her. Good luck she could read him as well as he read her, so they could override their BS tales and get to the problem. I totally loved their development as a couple. One of my favorite scenes is when Lauren’s mother, who is a sergeant in the Westlake PD, comments on how unhappy Lauren was in her marriage and the change Dex brought about in her:
“When you split from Vic, I knew you were hurting, but there was a little more of you again. And then suddenly, out of the blue, there you were. My Lauren. She just blossomed. She was feisty and funny and oh, so incredibly beautiful. And I realized someone was making my daughter happy. Really happy. And then I heard the rumors and realized I had yet another Riggs brother to thank.”
This was a splendid read and cemented my addiction to this author’s books. And the best part? In the epilogue we get a chance to see how each couple in the series is doing before we say goodbye to them. Looking forward to another fantastic series!
4.5 Best for Last Stars!
Dex is the ultimate bad boy and the one Riggs brother who has been the most mysterious throughout this series. He came home after leaving the Detroit police force, not telling anyone the reason why. The theories are flying and even his brothers think the worst. Lauren is the only one who sees past his facade. She has known him since they were young and doesn’t believe the terrible rumors. They had a passionate kiss in high school that ended abruptly and neither has forgotten it over the years as they moved on with their lives. Now Lauren is trying to make a new life for herself after her marriage fell apart. She wants a baby desperately and Dex volunteers to help her. His past is coming after him and he is desperate to do one good thing in his life. I loved the direction this series took. These Riggs brothers had such a horrible upbringing, and are so misunderstood, yet they all have hearts of gold. Lauren was so perfect for Dex making him want to be a better man. I really loved them together.
Joe Arden, and Erin Mallon continue to do a great job narrating this series. They bring these flawed characters and their complex story to life, portraying their raw emotions with a perfect balance of strength, passion, and vulnerability. I loved this gripping, suspenseful, and steamy romance! I was so invested in their HEA that I couldn’t stop listening. Even tho I’m sad this is the end, this was a perfect conclusion to this series!
This series just kept getting better and better. Make Me Beg was Dex and Lauren’s story and is the final book in the Riggs brother series. The story was steamy, sweet and a little emotional and I wished it was longer as the story finished a little to quickly for me. I loved that we get the appearances of the other couples from the previous books as they all brought a certain levity to the story. The chemistry between Dex and Lauren was intense and I liked that the story delved into surrounding Dex’s failed career as a cop. Best of all I loved that the author gave us that epilogue which encompassed all four brothers. This novel was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of second chance romance.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel which was narrated by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. These two have become favorites of mine and I enjoyed their performance with these characters. Their pace and timing was excellent and they brought life to the characters. it was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.
Audio Review
I have been patiently waiting on this one to hit audible. I love this entire series and I couldn’t wait to see what made Dex Riggs tick. Turns out his past is a bit of a surprise and maybe the “bad boy” isn’t so bad after all.
Lauren has been through a failed marriage, she wants children but unable to have them but maybe Dex Riggs can give her what she needs. This cop turned bad boy has so many layers and she can see through his tough guy act and plans to get to the bottom of what’s really going on.
Dex can’t sleep, he has guilt he can’t deal with so he smokes weed and drinks to just get from one day to the next. When Lauren shows up he wants to be better even though he knows he isn’t who she needs.
This series is so good and this is book 4 and ties all the brothers and their women together. Dex’s story is touching and I liked him in the other books but I really fell for him here. This big bad boy has a heart after all and he is giving it to Lauren.
Joe Arden and Erin Mallon were perfect as Dex and Lauren. Loved listening to them from beginning to end. Hot, sexy voices.
This is book 4 in the series but they can all be listened to or read as stand alones. You get enough of the back stories there are no cliffhangers with any. I loved it and highly recommend it.
Make Me Beg
Riggs Brothers, Book 4
By: Julie Kriss
Narrated by: Joe Arden, Erin Mallon
Make Me Beg is the story I have been waiting for! I love all the Riggs brothers, but there has been something about Dex that catches me in each book. It could be the bad boy image he portrays, but I think it is that I want to know why he is the way he is, and finally we get his story! We get Lauren, Luke’s sister-in-law and Dex together. These two have some history, but it never amounted to anything. Now years later, the two are together, their attraction palpable, and Dex is willing to give her the one thing she has always wanted! What a story this is. It’s full of emotion and action, gives us lots of passion and we even get some suspense and action! Kriss never lets us down, she always has it all in her books! And the epilogue wraps it all up, with a quick look at the whole family. It’s a great ending to this series!
Joe Arden and Erin Mallon finish their narration with Dex and Lauren. I love this duo, so talented, finding the intricacies of each character and making them different with a new voice and inflections. It’s a pleasure to hear them, and I love that they have performed the entire series, giving us continuity of the characters. It’s a must listen series!

Loved loved Dex and so glad we finally got his story! Dex and Lauren are both dealing with there issues that have left them with some battle scars and even though they’ve always had a attraction they can no longer deny it and realize each other might be the key to true happiness! Great finish!
Dex is the bad boy ex cop and Lauren is the twin sister of Emily, Luke’s wife. The two have history but have always gone their separate ways. Lauren is going through a divorce and trying to get her life together. Dex is home under mysterious circumstances after leaving his job as a cop. The two end up together since Lauren would like to have a baby but no relationship. Will Dex agree to give her what she wants and leave? A great read and ending to the series.
This author definitely saved the best brother last…that was really hard to say since I have loved each brother for very different reasons…but Dex; oh dear god, my ovaries may never recover.
There are bad boys and then the are really bad boys and Dex falls into the second category easily. From the first time we met him in the first book, he has been the unknown, never giving anything away and never caring about the rumors surrounding him. For me that made him that much more intriguing and this book reveals all…
Lauren has not stopped thinking about Dex since she was 16, and not all of it was good thoughts either. But her first kiss deserves some memories..her strength in the face of controversy was awe inspiring and I think she is the perfect match to handle Dex.
Now years later both of their lives significantly changed but the one thing that hasn’t is the spark between them, will they finally get what they always wanted or will life keep them apart forever?
Dex is awesome. He definitely represents “never judge a book by its cover”. He is a bad boy but not a bad man. You will have all kinds of questions about Dex’s previous job as a cop. Yikes. This is more than a love story. You get this mystery intertwined causing you to try and figure out the true story on Dex’s behavior.
Lauren is dealing with some major burnout and disappointment. Her marriage ended and she didn’t get the baby she is craving. Dex and Lauren create a plan… love it. (They have know each other for years and are connected through family now that their siblings are married to each other.) This couple knows how to spice up the page. What a ride they take you on. Wink.
This was a fairly quick read that ended giving you a taste of all for couples from the Riggs Brothers Series. It is awesome.
Happy Reading Everyone!
Finally we get to Dex’s story. As a former cop and the most misunderstood of the Riggs brothers, Dex needs to come to terms with his past before he can get on with his future. Lauren who is newly divorced has decided to take matters in her own hands and use a sperm bank to finally have the baby she wants. But a dead car battery puts them both on a path neither one of them ever imagined and not the memories of their first kiss when she was 16 means so much more. Can Dex finally get a HEA and not be considered the loser anymore? Can Lauren’s dreams come true? I honestly can say I had to read this story all in one sitting. There was not a spot of the storyline that i could put down and just when you think you know what is going to happen the roller coaster begins and you just hold on until it is over. The epilogue was the icing on the cake. I am so sorry to see the Riggs series complete. i will miss these boys.
This is the last of a fun and sexy series about boys from the wrong side of the tracks and the nice girls who fall for them. They’re all great.
