This is the sixth book in the Make-Believe Series, an amazing Series. Rachel and Dan’s story is a great and sweet second chance in love. The secondary characters are great. I love the family spirit in this story, and the HEA is beautiful. Vivi Holt never disappoints. Amanda Stribling did a great job with the narration. I love her voice! I enjoyed it.
Another romantic read with a HEA ending by the amazing Vivi Holt! In her latest “Make-Believe” tale, high school sweethearts Rachel and Dan get married in Las Vegas (by Elvis, of course!) after a chance meeting after 10 years. they had been in love all those years ago, but family, college and other circumstances have kept them apart.
Daniel Montgomery is the son of a wealthy ranching family, but decided to leave Montana in order to make it on his own in San Francisco. Coincidentally, Rachel lives in San Fran and is an accomplished baker. Their unexpected marriage comes on the heels of Dan being unceremoniously dumped by his fiancé and Rachel being afraid that she will never find true love.
Ms. Holt has once again created an entertaining book, full of misunderstandings, growing feelings of attraction after an almost business-like arrangement, and a lot of faith that works to bring the couple together. Her books are well-written with great characters and are perfect when you need something that will uplift you and strengthen your faith in people.
The narrator, Amanda Stribling, does a great job with her narration and her performance adds a lot to the readers’ enjoyment. I was given the chance to listen to this audiobook by the author and chose to review it
Make-Believe Marriage
Make-Believe Series, Book 6
By: Vivi Holt
Narrated by: Amanda Stribling
Vivi Holt’s 6th book in the Make-Believe series will make you believe in second chances! When Daniel takes a job outside the family to expand his knowledge, he never thought life would turn out as it does. His fiancee dumps him, leaving him in a new city, with his co-workers thinking he is off to get married. Bumping into his high school sweetheart was not in the cards, but now that he has seen Rachel again, and with their promise to marry if they hadn’t by the time they are 40 hatches a new idea. Let’s just speed up the timeline! Now given this second chance, will they rekindle the love they once had? It’s a sweet story! I love this couple, as they get to know each other again. But things are not that easy. Communication is key, and these two just aren’t quite there yet. A trip home for the holidays may be the ultimate test. Will they come home happy? Holt finishes this series with a heartwarming story, one that pulls on the emotions and let’s us engage in Rachel and Daniel’s journey.
Amanda Stribling brings it all to life, letting us enjoy the family, as well as Daniel and Rachel. Her voices match the personalities of the characters perfectly and it lets me escape into the story. I enjoyed her performance.

Make-Believe Marriage ( Make-Believe Series-Book 6 )
By: Vivi Holt
Make-Believe Marriage is book six in Make-Believe series. I really enjoyed this story and the characters . I caught myself laughing several times. After Daniel leaving his family business strikes out on his own. Going to his new job, and his fiancee calls him and tells him the wedding is off. Now his new boss is expecting him to be getting married. While on the plane Daniel meets an old girl friend and things start to look different. What happens after Daniel and his old girl friend meets? This is a fun story and I did not want to put it down. The author drew me in at the start and I I was hooked.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Make-Believe Marriage is story that would have been much shorter if the main characters would have ever really talked to each other. I enjoyed all the angst. Rachel and Dan dated in high school but his dad said they were too young. That seemed reasonable since she went to the west coast and he went east to Harvard Law. Ten years later they find themselves on the same flight to Las Vegas. A drink apiece, several pain relievers, muscle relaxants and mood elevators later they are married. Now they will have to learn how to love again or will they part over their workaholic schedules?
-‘Um…she might be coming. Or she might not. She could be my wife by the time of the trip, or perhaps not. She’s going to talk to me about it tonight. We’re deciding our future over the telephone, I’ll let you know how it goes.’-
His fiancée left him for ridiculous reasons, a fluke meeting on an airplane leads to an unplanned wedding to another woman. I really liked this story. It reminded me of Victorine Lieske’s wedding series and this was a lot of fun to read too. Clean romance with no swearing and no sex. I recommend it.
When Dan’s fiance dumps him and he runs into his first love on the way to Vegas, what do you do. You get married. Marriage is hard enough but getting to know each other all over again and having busy schedules is not conducive to a new marriage. As they grow further apart it seems this marriage is doomed. But miracles happen even if it is a long journey. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
