An unrepentant rogue and a strong-willed lady… away his heart. That was a mistake he’d already made and one he intended never to commit again.
Lady Adelaide Ducat hated the Viscount of Averstone with a passion that sang in her blood. The man was a wretch, a rake, a rogue, and so annoying that she’d like to… well, she desperately wanted to… she ought to….kiss him until he begged for mercy. That wasn’t right. She’s got bigger problems to worry about, like what her scheming mother was planning or how she’s going to care for her dying father. So why can’t she stop thinking about how awful Chase Averstone was or how good his lips would taste?
Can a single kiss change their minds forever?

One of my favorite series from Tammy Andresen. It has humor, romance, a bit of danger, perfectly matched couples, and heart. I really enjoyed the premise of this series; five friends make a bet with a gypsy in regards to the five Ducat sisters. The last book in the series, Make a Viscount Beg, is centered around Chase and Adelaide. He doesn’t want a wife and she has no interest in a rake. She is feisty and strong-willed and he challenges her – a perfect match! Their banter and interactions are wonderfully entertaining.
The last rake to fall under the prediction of the gypsy, Chase is determined to avoid kissing Lady Adelaide. He has absolutely no intention of being leg-shackled to the self-opinionated minx, or anyone else for that matter. The problem is the more she avoids him, the more his interest is piqued. Lady Adelaide has watched her sisters fall to the charms of the other four rakes’ kisses, and although they are all happy, Adelaide doesn’t see any future with the dissolute Chase. She, in fact, has much bigger problems to deal with. With her father falling deeper into dementia each day and her mother pursuing her own brand of madness, Adelaide knows that she has to keep her wits about her. Chase is a charming hero and when the situation turns dangerous, he knows that he has to do whatever is necessary to keep Adelaide and her sisters safe, also resulting in him inadvertently revealing more about his true self than he wants to. Adelaide finds herself looking at Chase with fresh eyes and when he faces the ultimate danger on her behalf, she knows that it won’t be possible for her to be truly happy with anyone else. This delightful novel brings the series to an end, with unexpected events and a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I always love a saucy heroine and a rake that needs a good woman to reform him. That is just what we get with Chase and Adelaide. The sparks fly and the heat is turned up with their very first meeting.
This is the fifth in a delightful series that all started with a prediction of a kiss by a gypsy. The Ducat sisters know how to tame and reform their rakes and rogues. Each story is as delightful as the previous one, yet you do not need to have read the others before this one.
There’s heat, passion, charm and an anxious situation that tempts both Adelaide and Chase with love and forever after. Simply wonderful!
This is the last book in the How to Reform a Rake series and it is Adelaide and Chase’s story. It was the first book I have read in the series but I feel like it was good as a standalone book. It was an interesting book. Chase had made a bet with four friends he would kiss Adelaide, one of the Ducet sisters. But Adelaide wasn’t going to make it easy for him! The book was full of drama, humor, suspense, and their teasing. This was a complete book but it seems like everything happens in a day or two. It would be nice if it was longer so reader can get more in touch with characters. Overall it was a fun book and I would recommend.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The end of an amazing, fun and lovable series that I have enjoyed so much from book one. Chase is that last of the friends, who on that fateful day was dealt a card from a gypsy, to try to retrieve his kiss from Adelaide, the last Ducat sister. All of his other four friends had claimed their Ducat sister but he could just not see it happening to him.
Well, buckle you seats and get ready for a lot of humor and a sparkling attraction that just cannot seem to be contained! No matter how much Adelaide disliked Chase for his roguish ways, there was really more to him than the outward appearance!
Chase finally reveals himself to her as they grow closer and he just made my heart warm. Suspense, drama, great banter, humor and of course an attraction that cannot be denied!
Tammy Andresen shines in this great story that I could not put down once I started! A fabulous ending that I will smile about for awhile!
Make A Viscount Beg is another fabulous historical romance by Tammy Andresen. Ms. Andresen has once again delivered a well-written book furnished with an outstanding cast of characters. Adelaide is the last unmarried Ducat sister. Chase is the last of the group of friends that made a wager on kissing a Ducat sister. Adelaide and Chase’s story is packed with drama, humor, action, sexy bits and suspense. I enjoyed reading Make A Viscount Beg and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. Make A Viscount Beg is book 5 of the How to Reform a Rake Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved this story & have waited anxiously for Chase & Adelaide’s story – it was great!
Chase, Viscount of Averstone bets he will steal a kiss from Lady Adelaide Ducat & he prides himself as a rake with the expertise to charm any female he puts his mind to woo. After all, he really has nothing else to offer a lady other than some stolen moments & he will never fall in love again or marry. Adelaide can’t stand the arrogant, rake that makes her behave badly with their constant unkind bantering………so why does she keep think about kissing him???
They are such a fun couple that has a journey full of dislike for one another, danger from villains, becoming friends, falling in love to their HEA. I was gifted this ARC & I’m sad the series has come to an end but I happily recommend this book & all the books in the series. Tammy Andresen wrote wonderful stories with marvelous characters for each of the 5 Ducat sisters & she matched each one up from a group of friends that would love & protect them!
The Viscount of Averstone & his four friends were stranded in Canterbury & the only place they were able to find shelter was in a brothel. Whilst they were there a gypsy Vadoma foretold that each of the five friends would kiss one of the five Ducat sisters. All the sisters are at the estate near the Kent coast so that their husbands & Chase can protect them from their mother’s schemes.
Lady Adelaide Ducat hates Chase, Viscount of Averstone with a passion, the man was a wretch, a rake, a rogue, and so annoying. But with her four sisters now married to one of his four friends do the pair really stand a chance?
A lovely conclusion to the series with this hugely entertaining novella. The verbal sparring between Chase & Adelaide is brilliant & at times had me laughing out loud. Their attraction sizzles but who is going to beg for a kiss? As Chase & Adelaide grow closer he reveals his inadequacies & insecurities to her & I loved him becoming the man he’d always wanted to be. She’s feisty & outspoken but also caring & understanding. I’ve loved the whole series, whilst this could be read on its own I’d recommend reading from book one. I read the book in a sitting as I didn’t want to put it down
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
