Well well this book was good, but I had to put it down a few times. Sophia was annoying me so much I didn’t care for her character to much.
Now Major I truly loved. Even though he was wrong in a lot instances. But loved his character none the less.
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
This is my first experience reading something by Ms. Lee and I was very pleasantly surprised. The storyline is engaging and held my interest till the end. Sophia much prefers to visit wounded soldiers in the hospital than attend frivolous balls. While visiting there she meets Major Wyclyff and they start to become friends. When his condition worsens, he asks her to marry him. She does not want to disheartened a dying man, so she accepts. She finds out a few days later, that he has succumbed to his injuries. Several months later she finds out he is still very much alive and he expect her to make good on her promise. These two characters are perfect for each other as both are quite stubborn. Sophia keeps pushing him away, yet he will not give up. An entertaining story, with some funny moments, and I would like to read more of the series.
I received a complimentary advanced reader’s copy via eBook Discovery and am voluntarily posting my honest review.
I really enjoyed this unique story where Anthony’s pursuit of Sophia was nothing short of a military campaign. I really had to laugh at all the things Sophia said and did in her attempt to assert herself. I liked Anthony for his tenacity, patience and caring/protective personality. As the story progressed it was easy to empathize with several of the characters. This was an enjoyable story with a satisfying ending.
I received an ARC from eBook Discovery and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
Will the wager and the campaign be won?
This book was so much fun to read. Sophia is afraid of loss and so has closed herself off from love. Anthony is a man who has faced death and wants Sophia after all she promised to marry him and now she is refusing to honor that commitment. There is a devil of an aunt in this mix that wants to see Sophia happy and she believes that the major is just the right man. You will love how the Major and Sophia maneuver around each other it was so entertaining. There will be a bit of danger maybe a misunderstanding too but fate’s plans are very different from the villains in this piece. I love the story, characters, and the humor the author included in her work. I highly recommend this charming tale. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery and voluntarily chose to review it.
It took me a bit of time to realise that Major Wyclyff’s Campaign was in fact a comedy and until I did, I was a bit confused. Both Lady Sophia and the Major are stubborn, strong minded people, and although Anthony is commanding in his attitude towards life, he did learn from his mistakes. Sophia appears to take a bit longer to come to her senses. It looked as if Sophia was sabotaging her own future and in doing so, limiting her options. I found the last chapters of the story a bit of a surprise as there was no build up to the height of the adventure and it seemed a bit impromptu. There was however, a satisfactory end to the book. This was also one of the first books I purchased by Jade Lee, however, I also received this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for an honest review.
Book2 in the series ” A Lady’s Lessons”. Read the books in order as the stories carry into each other. Fun battle of the sexes throughout!
I enjoyed this book. The characters were fairly well-developed as they progressed in the story. Although some of the story line felt a bit contrived. i’ve read only a couple of Jade Lee’s books, but i’ll try future offerings.
Interesting and true to the time period
This was a good book.
Enjoyed it.
Very enjoyable
This book was just an ok read for me. The story was all right, I just felt that the characters needed to be more developed to kept me more interested!
dragged a bit for me
It wasn’t horrible, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Entertaining.
Not very engaging. Lots of conversation that doesn’t advance the story. I grew tired of it.
So much farce, and unsure if it’s meant to serve as plot twists. Good read.
