Hayley and Cain had to overcome a few issues to achieve a happy medium and their journey was one of rediscovery, understanding, and a sweet romance. Cyber crimes, hit lists, and who to trust…Major Crimes is fast paced and action-packed! I loved how absorbing this book was!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My first book from Janie Crouch but not my last! Were to start, well I had a hard time putting it down and the story played like a movie in my head! It has suspense, it has intrigue, it has just enough romance without taking away from the story! I can not wait to read my next book from Janie Crouch!
This is the 1st book I read by Janie Crouch. I loved this book’s storyline. I loved the action in this story. I loved the suspense in this story. I loved Cain’s character. I loved Hayley’s character. I loved Mason. I loved the ending. This is a story I couldn’t put down. Awesome job. Ms. Crouch.
I really enjoyed this addition to the Omega Sector series. Cain and Hayley were fabulous characters. Secrets, lies, mistakes, broken trust, perceived betrayal, death attempts, espionage, traitors, crooked cops, rekindled love and more await these two as they search for the truth, fight to save themselves and others, and struggle to find their way back to each other. The storyline is engaging and there is plenty of suspense, mystery, action, and danger to enjoy. Non-stop excitement from beginning to end.
Cain Bennett is dedicated to his job and taking all threats seriously even if it means having to rely on Hayley Green. This story is full of suspense with romance and twist. The pages are packed with action until the end.
What happens when the man you think cares about you uses you to further is career? Cain Bennett finds out that Hayley is guilty and must pay, but when they sentenced her he’s stunned to say the least.
When she’s released he approaches her for help. She won’t even talk to him, but he needs her for something he knows she can do.
Of course he’s worried things might tempt her to go back to her old ways.
It’s a chance he’s willing to take.
Must read
It doesn’t happen to me often, but I couldn’t put this book down and didn’t want it to end!
Cain Bennett was called in to find the mole in Omega who had been helping psychopath Damien Freihof kill agents and their loved ones. When Cain realized that the mole had major hacking skills, he knew he needed help. But the person who could help him uncover the traitor probably wouldn’t want to. He asked her anyway, hoping she’d agree to use her incredible computer skills to help Omega again. Hayley and Cain had been high school sweethearts. Four years ago, even though they hadn’t seen each other in years, he had asked her to help with a case concerning a group of hackers, not knowing she was involved. By the time he found out, they had rekindled their relationship. He didn’t want to, but he arrested her. Once she got out of prison, Hayley didn’t want to see Cain ever again so when he showed up asking for her help again, she wasn’t happy. But she needed the money so she agreed to his offer.
Poor Hayley. She got arrested for hacking but had found something in the code that put her in danger. She was having a hard time at work, and there’s never enough money. Cain was a good guy but never does anything if it’s against “the book”. So letting Hayley work with computers was hard for him. Should he trust her or not? He was still crazy about her. That made it harder to decide.
As they worked together, they realized they were still strongly attracted to each other. With their trust issues and Hayley’s secrets, can they make it work? I loved this suspense. It kept me guessing right to the end. Which was a surprise in itself (the ending).
I always enjoy Janie Crouch’s books and this one was no exception.
Very interesting and good stand alone even if i did feel like i missed some elements by not reading book 3 yet ( will do soon)
i really loved how Cain and Hayley got over their issues step by step despites all what was happening around them…they both tried to do well in their own way .Hayley is strong and protective, she is also aware of her faults and i really appreciated that about her.
Cain is a good man, he never expected to hurt Hayley as much and he is ready to help her when she needs it the most and i particularly loved how appreciative he was of her skills not taking shame of being less talented in that domain than her and seeing a bit of Ashton and Chloe that was simply too cute!
a very good installment in the Omega series
Early on I figured out who the immediate threat was, well as soon as they appeared in the book. Wonder if Janie was feeling sorry for us readers and made that happen, lol. Especially as the mole in Omega is a big mystery still. I felt for both Cain and Hayley. He is law enforcement, he was doing his job. He certainly didn’t see the sentence coming down. I felt for Hayley as she was sentenced and the struggles when she gets out to put her life back together. There are turns and twists not only in the plot but in their relationship as they learn to trust again. I have read Janie Crouch for years. I would go to the library and grab any book by Janie Crouch. I highly recommend all her books.
Secrets abound in this nail-biter from Janie Crouch! With the next book in the Omega Sector: Under Siege series, we’re getting one step closer to finding out who the mole is inside Omega Sector! Cain Bennett is brought to the forefront to try to secretly track the movements of the traitor, but to do so, he needs the help of his former love … only she isn’t exactly free to help him right now! The story line was exciting throughout, and we got to step away from the action we’re used to and solve another case. I enjoyed it!
Omega Sector agent Cain Bennett knows the person that can help him uncover the traitor, but he’s not so sure she’s going to agree to help him. She was once his high school sweetheart, and when they met up again a few years later, he just happened to send her to prison for hacking!
Hayley Green knows she committed a crime and has now paid her dues for it. She’s barely out of prison when Cain shows up out of the blue. She knows he was just doing his job in arresting her as part of the cyber crime ring, but she’ll never forgive him for sleeping with her just to get information! She might be forced to help him with this case … because the money will most definitely come in handy … but she won’t voluntarily be sharing her secrets!
Major Crimes is an emotion-filled story, with a rather tragic love story in heartbreaking circumstances.
The Omega Sector is vigorously hunting for the mole whos aid to Damien Freihof, the man determined to hurt, damage, and ultimately eliminate the Omega Sector, is putting everyone’s lives in danger.
To get the information they need, Omega has to get one of the best hackers there is, and that is where Hayley Green’s name comes up. Thankfully, Haley is out of prison now, but will she help Omega Sector, considering it was Omega special agent Cain Bennett, her then-boyfriend, who arrested her and sent her to the prison in the first place.
This story has two-fold suspense going on, that brings tension, action, and severe threat to Haley and her loved ones. Dangerous, high-powered players feel the threat of Hayley’s abilities to find well-hidden information on the darkness of the web and don’t shy away from taking lives to keep their lucrative, illegal business going.
Hayley is desperate to right the wrongs she did in the past, she had her reasons, but she crossed some lines that never can be erased. Helping Omega will aid her financially, but also be an atonement for her prior actions.
Cain has always walked the straight line, he believes there are rules, laws, and regulations for a reason, and they are set to be followed. He knows he is not completely innocent, he knows his previous actions with Hayley doesn’t muster praise, but he needs her help, desperately. And sometimes desperation makes you act in a way you wouldn’t otherwise.
Even though there is chemistry between Hayley and Cain, the kind of connection that comes from the long history between them, there is a lot of work that needs to be done for any kind of trust to be formed. Cain drove me crazy at times with his pompous attitude. The story got me emotionally involved from the very start, I might have yelled at Cain on occasion while reading it. I admired Hayley’s ability for forgiveness, her big heart, and survival instincts.
With complex characters, with menace and peril all around them, the race to stay alive, to find the mole, and capture the people running havoc on Hayley’s life keeps the tale hopping, moving on a fast pace as their hustle to get answers and scramble to stay alive.
An important piece of a puzzle in the hunt for Damien Freihof and his aiding mole at Omega.
An entertaining, rapidly moving, poignant, and intense tale
~ Four Spoons
Book four of this series, was a little different from the other Omega Sector stories, but just as good.
While the previous books dealt mostly with the mole inside the Omega Sector team, this one revolved mostly on the main characters Hayley Green and Omega Special Agent Cain Bennett.
These two had been sweethearts in HS and later on. But things changed when Cain, by now an agent for Omega Sector, was partly responsible for her arrest and later being sent to jail.
Once she is out, he searches for her to offer her a temporary job at Omega. After four years in jail, Hayley is a changed woman with responsibilities. The reunion was not smooth , but it’s apparent the attraction is there. But can they trust each other? Hayley has secrets and danger seems to be following her.
It’s a fast paced story with an engaging plot and complex characters.
Will they be able to trust again, and find their HEA, or will the past always be an obstacle in their lives? And, will they survive to find out?
Another story in this series worth your time.
I read this book voluntarily. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
