Romantic suspense is my favourite genre. And Mail Order Soulmate has become one of the top books in this category for me.
Zach had a hard time settling into civilian life after leaving his job as an international agent. Opening a security business with a friend with the same training helped him adjust to “normal” life. Unfortunately, he had a habit of making a lot of purchases online. He bought so many things that there were times he couldn’t remember what they were. One of those things was a bride! Even when she showed up at his door, he didn’t remember getting married online or that she was coming all the way from the U.K. Catherine wanted to get away from her British crime family so marrying someone on the other side of the world was the perfect escape.
I loved Zach. He was a wonderful patient man. He never pushed Catherine into more than she was ready for. And he was so good with her baby – never hesitating to pick him up or change him. Catherine was terrified of being found but she knew getting away from her family was the best thing to do. For both her and her son. Everyone in town was so kind and helpful. They dropped off all sorts of baby stuff. While Catherine appreciated everything, she worried about repaying them. But, most of all, she was afraid someone might post a picture of her online where her family would see it, finding out where she was.
I loved this slow-burn romance. The suspense and a baby made it my kind of book.
03/15/2021 “Mail Order Soulmate” (nook) is another wonderful book by Jean Oram. Her stories are a delight to read and this one was no exception. Zach’s and Catherine’s attraction, mysterious backgrounds and love, as well as twists and turns, keep the reader enthralled.
I have some questions. I may have overlooked the answers so I want to ask. 1) Why did Simon want to contact Catherine? Does he have regrets? More information (or a book?) on Simon would be wonderful. 2) Were Zach and Catherine legally married via the internet? 3) What “little bird” told her cousin Jerry her location?
A BlueBerry Springs Story! More and more agents live there and make more ladies happy and themselves in love. Love the people of Blueberry Springs. This is a nice clean story (no biologically detailed sex). Many of the characters I have met in other stories… and hope to meet again. Nice pace to the story.
A page turner and romantic HEA. A great read (I’ll overlook the suggestion that we Brits eat sausage and mash for breakfast…)
First time reading Jean Oram’s books and what I an exciting and adventurous journey. Couldn’t put this book down and had me sitting on the edge of my seat to find out what’s going to happen next. Place this book on your must read list!
3.5 stars.
A sweet story, with a quiet yet strong female lead. Zach was a gentle giant. Maybe not the most believable of stories, but I enjoyed reading about Catherine, Xavier and Zach’s journey to becoming a family.
So good! Zach is coping being a civilian again after being a secret agent and part of his coping strategy is online shopping. He just doesn’t remember buying a bride! Such a fun story with all kinds of hidden depths. A great read!
Zach and Catherine find unexpected love in an unconventional marriage! I loved Zach from the beginning. Catherine took a bit of time for me to warm up to, but she won me over. I enjoyed the fast-paced ending and how everything came together.
This book was such an unexpectedly fun ride! I loved the characters, the situation, and how the characters fulfilled one another’s needs and wants. A beautiful love story and a superb HEA!
Loved it, Read it in one sitting.

I really enjoyed this book. I have put the author on my need to read list.
A good clean read. No unneeded sex or bad language.
Great book!
Ok
A sprinkling of romance throughout the book’s action packed and unpredictable plot definitely held my interest. I suggested a friend read it which is unusual for me to do.
