Noah Bailey never imagined he’d take in a passel of ragged orphans.
But the good Lord had other plans. In a single reckless moment, Noah goes from a gruff loner to a protective father of six.
The rugged cowboy has things figured out. Mostly. The only thing missing is a mama for his boys. What he needs is a sturdy woman who can provide big, hearty meals and offer the boys a kind word or two. They … two. They haven’t ever known a mother’s gentle care.
A mail-order wife of convenience, one who can cook, would suit him and the boys just fine.
Sarah Becker never imagined she had a sister in Texas.
Orphaned at eight, Sarah was adopted by a kindly couple. They treated her well, but always made their feelings clear; Sarah was not their kin.
When Sarah learns of a long-lost sister, her world is upended. She yearns for more than her work in a fancy candy shop. While she has plenty of admirers, she longs to find the sister she’s never met.
She spends all her savings to travel from California to Boston, hoping to somehow find her sister. Only to learn that Abigail has gone to Texas.
There is only one way to afford costly passage to Texas.
And for that, she must become a mail-order bride.

This was a heartwarming story. Sarah is off to Find her long lost sister but finds a bigger family just for herself. Noah is a father of 6 boys. A wife and women’s touch is needed so he writes away for one. There are a few bumps to overcome. An all male household that adds a female will see some issues. But one by one Sarah wins over each and every one of them. Plus she gets a sister too
Such a great story about Noah and his six adopted son’s. Maybe there should be a story about Holden and Francine.
Sarah is looking for her sister, Noah needs help when he takes in 6 homeless boys, he sends for a mail order bride can they help each other and help the boys a good story
This book had it all. Great characters and a fresh way of bringing two people together not only for the sake of six ragtag boys, but for their own happily ever after as well. Loved it!
Sarah was brave to travel to Boston from San Francisco after her adopted parents died to look for her sister and then to accept a mail order bride offer from a man who took in six orphaned boys in order to be near her sister who had journeyed to the same area in Texas. I don’t know if I could have traveled that far back then especially the journey from Boston to Texas by ship. Noah doesn’t exactly endear himself to her right away with his gruff and distrustful ways and the boys aren’t sure if they want her around. The relationship between Sarah and her seven guys is rocky at times, but it’s filled with plenty of funny and sweet moments.
I liked the idea of jigsaw puzzles
Noah Bailey has taken in six orphaned boys whose life up to that point has not been great. Now he had not planned on keeping them but fate had other ideas. Noah really had no desire to have a wife but the boys could use a mama so like his brother Seth he decides to get a mail-order bride but this wife would only be one of convenience nothing more. This is where Sarah enters into the picture and orphan at eight the two wonderful people who had taken her in were now gone. Then hello we have our first twist. I enjoyed Abigail’s story and now Sarah’s and it was just as outstanding. Great characters are in this well-written faith-based tale. This is a book I highly recommend it is one I will re-visit again. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
