something crazy…
something like…a mail-order husband!
Wyatt Nash is a professional gambler. He’s the luckiest man in New York City, but there are too many sore losers and they are convinced he cheats. He’s ready to make big changes in his life, and the right woman over hears his conversation and offers him the changes he’s looking for.
Traveling to Whiskey River Wyatt is already determined to protect Madison, but he never thought he’d fall in love with her from the minute they met.
Now if only he could get Pete to back off and realize he’s not the man for Madison…
I kinda liked the first book better m I thought this one repeated a lot of the same thing over and over. But I love the story itself. I love the Town and the Town folks. I feel sorry for the preacher and the sheriff now and would love to read more
Book 2 in this historical romance series. I’m not one for reading many of these. These are clean romances well compared to most…just kisses only. I kinda liked this one better than the first book. It was written better and flowed more easily. My only hitch was when Madison judged a book by its cover when she shouldn’t have. She jumped to conclusions while having her first dinner with Wyatt. He didnt even do anything wrong. Yes, he was approached to play cards but he easily declined. She flips the heck out and is kinda mean to him. Then the next day it was like it never happened. I have to admit that the situation with Pete got really old. There is a such thing as putting too much antagonism in a book to where thats all there is it seems. I’m not quite sure why he was a Main-Order Husband though. Yes, he came as that but they didnt even get married for quite awhile and most MOB stories or husbands in this case its usually within the same day or the next. So that was a little misconception in a way. However, things happen differently with certain couples so I didnt mind so much but its worth mentioning. I really liked Wyatt though. He was a true gentleman and patient with her and gave her the time she needed. He was sweet and protective. Enjoyed reading it.
Mail order matches continue in this series. Instead of a bride, there is a mail order husband! Wyatt and Madison both need change in their life. Romance is in the air but so is fear and danger…
Entertaining and heartfelt romance with loneliness, misery, fear and heartbreak giving way to hope, family and love. Nicely written and delivered. Hope to see further stories with Sheriff Clark, Mrs. Jenkins and Preacher Henley. 3 1/2 stars.
Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
Nostalgic story of a Woman with strength and courage.
Story’s like this remind me of much different perspective on history. To be a unmarried woman even with means to support one’s self. In a time when reputation and respectably were your only protection. Scary yes also so much less so than today’s world for many.
This was a great book, it can be read as stand alone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get the most out of it. The characters from the first book are big players and Madison is the female lead in this book and part of her story started in the first book.
Madison was a mail order bride and when she got off the train her soon to be husband was obviously a rotten kind of guy, so she ran for the hills. He is still determined to have her, so she sends off for a mail order husband.
Wyatt is tired of the life he is living and decides to take a chance on Madison and become the protector she needs. He falls for her pretty fast and they really are made for each other.
We also get to see what a great town Whiskey Rivers is and how the people come together in a time of need. I definitely cried a few times. But they were both happy and sad tears. I really want to read more about the Sheriff, he seems like he has an interesting story. Can’t wait to read more in the series.
A sweet Contemporary Romance with a strong independent woman and a sexy gentleman. I enjoyed the romance and the journey of the two characters.
I love the Whiskey River Brides series! This time Wyatt comes to town to protect Madison, who is being harassed. I highly recommend this clean, sweet series.
This is a fast-paced, sweet, clean historical romance. The story is at times heartbreaking, suspenseful, and full of community, and love. The characters are believable, strong, and determined. I enjoyed this visit back to Whisky River and look forward to returning again.
Sweet, clean historical romance that is suspenseful, heartbreaking, fast-paced filled with hopes, dreams and love. The story is believable with very likable characters most of the time that are determined and strong, you can relate to them. I had small issues with Madison and how she dealt with Wyatt at dinner but after that she grew on me. The author put an interesting twist that you don’t normal see in this type of plot.
Madison needs protection, Wyatt is tired of being a gambler, she sends off for a mail order husband he takes her up on the offer. Together they complete each other as they learn what it takes to make a go at love. It is a cute read that I did enjoy, but not as well as the first one in this series. Yes it was worth my time.
