The McCarthys of Gansett Island: Book 1
Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly … place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s “favorite son,” Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long. When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son. He soon realizes his plans for a hit-and-run visit to the island are in serious jeopardy, and he just may be “maid” for love.

I enjoy a good small hometown romance. I don’t read a lot of them and after reading Marie Force’s Maid For Love I want to read ALL these …

Looking forward to reading more about this family and this town
This book is the first in an amazing series. Mc and Maddie’s story is one you can read again and again. I have fallen in love with all the characters on Gansett and the others that Marie creates.
Light easy read, great characters
I like the fact the man knew what he wanted and went for it. He did care what others thought. You don’t fine that in many people. Good read.
An easy to read romance when you’ve got an afternoon spare.
A bicycle crash brings 2 people together. Words from the past keep causing pain. And a return for a visit to family turns into hope. This is a romance, a fun book, but also one to think deeply about. Words and trust, a standalone book with characters well painted (sometime you want to shake them). I enjoyed reading it!
This is the book that inspired me to write… I absolutely love all of Marie’s books – her characters are always amazing and the stories, well, you don’t want them to end.
I love Marie Force books so I had to read this series. This 1st book’s story line is really good. I didn’t like Mac’s mother. I loved Mac’s character. I really liked how Mac stood up for Maddie. I felt sorry for Maddie. I thought Thomas was so adorable.
A sweet story.
This book was so amazing have read it like 10 times already and would love to read the whole series it was simple amazing and wonderful
KU. This was a Cinderella-ish cheesy-cream-puff-insta-love-small-town romance. The most annoying part was that character’s behavior often bordered on New Adult instead of 30-somethings. But I was in the mood for a light fluffy read and that’s what I got.
The angst was minimal and mostly came from small town mentality/judgement and a pushy mom. …
This was the first book that I read by Marie Force way back in 2012. And from the start, I fell in love with the McCarthy family. Mac and Maddie started it all for me!
Mac McCarthy left Gansett Island as soon as he could. Island life just wasn’t for him. He became quite successful while living in Miami, but he is brought back to Gansett when his …
Set on an island off the coast of Rhode Island this is the first book in a small town series about one of the major families who live there. In this story the oldest son literally runs into the town’s girl-with-a-bad rep. It is love on first sight on his part. Not so much on hers. She has been hurt before and doesn’t trust men, even one who is …
Great book. I love stories with a robust cast of secondary characters who you’ll want to get to know. This story has that in spades and I’m happily working my way through the series.
A wonderful read! Marie Force just draws you into her character’s lives.
I have been on a reading binge for a couple weeks and this story was the first in that time period to make me “NEED” to purchase complete series. I love the island and it’s people.
