Out of the dark comes a knight she least expects. He’s the Sergeant at Arms for the Dark Knights MC. He enforces the rules and gets his hands dirty. She’s the daughter of a biker. Property of another MC.She’s young. He’s not. He’s lived a life. She’s just finding her way. She’s a bad idea.A very bad idea. One which can quickly turn allies into rivals. One war is over, he’s not ready to begin another.… rivals.
One war is over, he’s not ready to begin another.
But the temptation might make it unavoidable.
Note: While this interracial/age gap story can be read as a standalone, it’s best to read it after the Down & Dirty: Dirty Angels MC books to know the background of both the H and h. As with all my books, it doesn’t have a cliffhanger and has an HEA.

Really good book! When Dawgs daughter Cait is sexually abused she turns to Magnum for help. They both know the rules of the mc’s they’re associated with but they venture to handle the problem themselves knowing it could be war with their clubs. The book had a great plot and a second chance of love and redemption of a family stolen from Magnum.I loved the fact he felt he was too old for her and his inner fight to not take Cait and how the book ended.A happy ending made it a 5* read.

Magnum, Wow! He was so much more than what I had pictured. Watching from afar has been all he’s allowed himself and he will no do anything more. When Cait comes with a problem he has no choice but to protect her, at all costs. Things heat up and I swear my kindle was smoking. The connection with Cait and Magnum is undeniably hot. I loved watching these two overcome every obstacle. AMAZING!!!
This was a great book. I loved Magnum and Cait’s story. They were great together and plot and storyline kept you pulled in from the beginning. Loved getting a glimpse of the DAMC. This was a great crossover, looking forward to more.
As the Sgt at Arms for the Dark Knights MC, Magnum was used to keeping the peace when needed and keeping the rule breakers from starting trouble. But when the woman he has been lusting at for too long walks into Dirty Dick’s, he knows trouble has found him. And he isn’t sure if he will be able to resist taking a taste of the temptation.
Caitlin only knew privilege until the day she found out that Dawg was her real father. His MC world opened her to what a family looks like even when they aren’t related by blood. As she continued to grow up in this new world, her fascination with the beautiful dark bald Sgt had her craving some dark chocolate.
Caitlin needs help and while she would normally go to her father, she knows this subject is one that would have Dawg seeing red and most likely going to jail. Instead, she heads over to Dirty Dicks and asks for Magnum’s help in the DL.
When Magnum and Caitlin find themselves pulled together time and again, their attraction for one another explodes into a passion neither had ever felt before. While the lust evolves into more, Magnum has to decide if he is willing to take a chance that he could lose everything if he claims Caitlin as his own.
Once again Jeanne St. James has written a story that flows beautifully and reads fabulously. The angst, heartache, attraction, sacrifice, danger, and sex is so powerful that it will have you feeling as if you are running in the Arizona desert during a windstorm. I have read every one of St. James’ books and each novel will have you falling more and more in love with the MC romance world. Magnum will have you laughing, crying, sighing, and craving to have a dark chocolate sexy-as-hell man wrap his arms around you and stick his big, giant…motorcycle between your legs. Get your head out of the gutter and into this book!!! It is amazing. Just truly spectacular.
Love this book!! Thank you Jeanne St. James for writing another great book!!
Club property no matter what
I stayed up all night reading this book.
The sparks, chemistry these 2 have is undeniable.
Magnum and Cait try but what they have can not be denied.
Magnum shows how much he loves and cares for her by his actions at the work retreat and then by what he does when they get back home.
But what they did without following protocol was not cool.
You do not steal another MC property.
My emotions were all over the place.
I laughed and most definitely cried.
Sincerely hope you enjoy this book as much as I did and can not wait for the next in the series.
Thank you Jeanne St. James for yet another great book.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
FANTASTIC read!!! Everyone must read this book! Magnum was everything I had hoped he would be & more. I love him and Cait together. I loved hearing Magnum’s story & of course I loved some of the DAMC guys popping up! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
Get ready for all the feels…Magnum!!
I started this book and could not put it down; from the first scene you are hooked…She walks into his bar; he doesn’t understand why until he presses her or information…he did not see what she tells him coming!!
She can’t talk to anyone in the DAMC about this, she only trusts Magnum to help her. Ever since that first time they saw each other, his eyes always met hers in some secret way, they thought no one was looking. Their story is emotional in so many ways, I could not hold in the laughter, frustration and tears. Sign of a good book…I’d say so. This man goes out of his comfort zone for her to find a way through the situation she has found herself in, the h gets to see a side of him he shows to no one.
I absolutely loved this book, the author cares so much about her characters and puts so much emotion into the stories. And with any extra books in the DAMC/In the Shadows series we get to meet up with some of those members, I always find that a treat. I can’t wait for whatever she brings next for her readers
Oh, my gosh. Where to start with this one. There were so many great aspects of Cait and Magnum’s story. The book was fantastic!! I couldn’t put it down.
I agree with the blurb. This is a standalone story but best read after the DAMC series where Magnum showed up in a couple of the books. If nothing else, I would definitely read Dawg and Diesel’s books first. Dawg, Cait’s dad, (and Emma), as well as Diesel show up in this book. Knowing their stories and especially their personalities would help enhance a couple scenes.
Cait was in trouble and knew she couldn’t go to anyone in the DAMC or anyone closely affiliated with them. It could be a disaster if she did. There was only one man she could trust, literally with her life, and that was Magnum. Despite all the many reasons it would be a bad idea, Magnum pushed those aside to help protect Cait.
Despite the age difference and being from different MCs, they truly were perfect for each other. The chemistry was explosive. The things he did for her, risked for her, showed true feelings for Cait that Magnum could not deny. I loved their connection. Cait was great for him, too. She showed him that he was a good man worth loving.
This story had all the feels. There were a few scenes that brought tears to my eyes. The biggest one was the scene between Cait and Dawg when she revealed a personal secret. The next was what Dawg did after. I’m not going to give any spoilers away but have your tissues handy.
This one was different from the other DAMC books because almost the whole story took place away from the DAMC compound. It worked though. I also think it was needed so Cait and Magnum could have quality time getting to explore their connection. A staple in most DAMC books is at least one scene with the sisterhood. That was missing here although I thought we were going to get it at one point and wished we would have. I just made up in my mind how I thought it would have gone though. lol
I am so glad Magnum got his own book. From the moment we met him, I was hoping we would. Now, I hope we get to know more of the Dark Knights and maybe see some of them get their own books. With Cait and Magnum together, I’d love to see the interaction (and maybe even overlapping) of the two MCs.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Magnums story does not disappoint! Touching on various different issues which were beautifully written as always, full of raw emotion, love and a battle of heart of mind. Everyone needs them a Magnum!
This gripping older man/younger woman romance was a romance that for all intents and purposes shouldn’t work! However, the dance between these two characters that shouldn’t be together kept me in total awe as Magnum and Caitlin lured me right into their journey as it unfolded and what a ride it was!
When Caitlyn has a problem, where does she turn? Not to her dad’s MC The Dirty Angels – but to Magnum, the Dark Knights Sgt at Arms!
There’s a spark between them but Magnum knows he’s treading a fine line, and not just because of the age gap. He goes along on Caitlyn’s work retreat to try to find a blackmailer and has to face not only a fear of his own, but the attraction he has to Caitlyn.
Highly recommend this addition to the MC family, and it’s probably worth reading the previous stories, just to get to know who’s who.
Sexy and electrifying – Magnum is off the charts an alpha male that only Jeanne St. James can write. The plot of this one is straight-up wild, zany, bloodthirsty and maybe a little unbelievable, but the chemistry between these two is great and I devoured it. It’s got everything I love in these books, some taboo subjects, smoking hot sex scenes, and a hero who shows he will do anything for the woman he loves. I also loved the cameos from some of my other favorite characters and I’m so hoping Magnum’s daughter gets a book of her own. Heart melting-ly beautiful.
Magnum was an MC romance like no other. I loved learning about the Dark Knights MC in the Dirty Angels MC books. You will never see the twists and turns coming in this book. You learn so much about Magnum and why he is so complex. I loved the story and plot line and the twists and turns were nail bitingly good. You will love this start to a new intertwined series. I can’t wait to read more of this in books to come. Go grab it today.
The Dark Knights. Magnum, its enforcer, has found himself between a rock and a hard place. A beautiful girl he has eyed for some time but that it’s way off his limits comes crashing into his life. It’s a very sexy, slow burn, close proximity kind of romance with a bit of thrill and chase of crime. Two worlds colliding and virtually exploding. My biggest concern was for Magnum and if he’d survive the consequences. Great writing as always Ms St James.
such a great story. it’s has a bit of everything. all i can say is i just want to live in jeanne’s mind. great writing and novels.
I was looking forward to this book so much. It was a great read as all her books so far has been. This one went in a direction I wasn’t expecting, and loved every second of it.
When I think that Jeanne St. James has written her best book, she releases another one.
Cait is all grown up and she still has her eye on Magnum after years of seeing him at various events. When the unthinkable happens, she turns to him. Now the only question is…will he help?
This book has more of a slow burn feel to it but it doesn’t drag on. The emotions between these two burns hot and off the charts but is just right for the book. I am very much looking forward to the next in the series and hope Aliyah gets her own book.
Jeanne has done it again. Magnum and Cait are unconventional but they make it work. He “loved ‘er enough to let ‘er go”, but Caut, like her father is stubborn wasn’t having it.
So to say this book is a stand alone is a partial truth. It can be read as one since the characters are well introduced and developed on their own but it does help to have read the DAMC books to understand the depth of love of these characters. Jeanne St James does not shy away from difficult subjects at all. Caitlyn finds herself in a situation that she cannot get help from her usual sources. So she goes to someone whom she trusts with her soul. I adored her and her stubbornness to fix what has been broken and how she seeks out the best man for the job. How can I describe Magnum? A biker who hasn’t had things go his way all his life until he found his MC. He knows what is important to his club and the club who claims Caitlyn. He refuses to break those trusts even if he destroys himself in the process. He would seem a rough and tumble man but he really sees the world for what it is and protects who and what he can. The feels from this book just about did me in. This was my favorite of all the DAMC books even though this technically isn’t one.
