There’s something magically mysterious about Moonstruck Manor and Kyla can’t put her finger on it.And neither can the police. Two murders happened on the property in the past six months, and it can’t be a coincidence. Especially since they both were hired as breakfast chef. That’s why the police called in Kyla, as an outside consultant to work undercover. Being a witch, she might be able to … might be able to detect hidden magic, but she’s no good at whipping up breakfast.
Only the bed and breakfast is filled with suspicious people, from the gardener who knows a lot about toxic herbs to the housekeeper who was having an affair with both previous victims, and then there’s the handsome bed and breakfast manager…a man Kyla’s attracted to more than she ever thought possible…but that’s just a bit of magic, too.
With the murderer targeting the bed & breakfast chefs, can Kyla solve the murder before she becomes the next victim?
You’ll love this paranormal witch cozy mystery because it has witty witches and trouble-making genies. Not to mention twists and turns you won’t expect and even a bit of romance.

Our heroine is hired as a consultant to figure out who is murdering B&B chefs. Cooking may be a bit of a stretch for her, but a bit of magic always helps.
This is book one of the cozy witch series. Welcome!
This is a cozy mystery series with a touch of magic of the witch variety. The story is well written and easy to read with a good dose of humor thrown into the mix. The characters are well developed and occasionally quirky as befits this sort of story. And it’s all good clean fun until someone ends up dead. The mystery itself is fun to follow with the usual twists and turns to keep our heroine guessing. Overall a fun story and I look forward to more in this series.
Highly recommended.

A bit of murder, a bit of romance, and a lot of magic things going on. How were the two cooks killed? Was it murder? Kyla goes undercover to figure it out and ends up with more than she bargained for. She’s finally understanding more about herself and her magic. It’s very revealing. I really fell right into the story and the characters lives. It was great!

Delightful Start to New Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series
I have enjoyed Joynell Schultz’s books for a while now, but I think this is the first paranormal mystery that I have read by her. I’ve read some of her straight-up paranormal books, but no mysteries. I love it when an author is a little more diverse! Like all of Ms. Schultz’s books, this one is well written with sharply detailed characterization, and as I love in a mystery, lots of twists, turns, and suspects to keep things interesting. I even thought the first scene was great, as our heroine, while she is trying to help in her sister’s shop, can’t get the cupcakes right: a third is okay, a third is burnt, and a third israw. I love the relationship between the sisters, as it felt loving and accurate. The heroine is a witch but isn’t quite sure what her big power is. However, she often consults with the mostly non-magical police department. She can look at a person and know if they are magical, and she can look at a crime scene and know if it involved magic in the crime. Those are pretty wonderful talents right there. So at the crux of this book is a magical B&B where the last two breakfast cooks have been murdered. Of course, the B&B is the perfect place to have a lot of suspects: guests, workers, and the competition. So our heroine goes undercover as the next breakfast cook. This is a delightful paranormal cozy mystery, and I look forward to the next book in the series. If you love paranormal cozies as I do, I suggest you check this one out.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Magically Murdered is a sweet romantic cozy mystery. Two cooks working at the magical bed and breakfast are murdered and a witch named Kyla, who doesn’t have any cooking skills, is hired by the police to go undercover as the new cook. There are many colorful characters, most of whom are on her list of suspects. However, Kyla is quickly falling for the manager and he’s also on her list! It’s a fun easy read.
Some of the mystery isn’t that hard to figure out. I think Kyla was a little dense at times putting two and two together. There’s also a bad guy moment, which adds an interesting twist to the story, but doesn’t play out in a plausible way.
I truly enjoy the way this author writes and so when I see one of her books I jump at the chance to read another awesome book. I love how funny this book is well its serious because chefs have been murdered and Devlin sends in Kyla to find out who the murderer is before she is next on the list to be murdered. Really wonderful characters and well written story that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.

If you have yet to read one of Joynell’s books well now is the time to start! Her books whisk you away to a place where the troubles we face magically disappear while we are caught up in a well crafted story!
Cupid comes a calling to break down a person’s barriers whether they want it or not. It just adds a delicious touch to weaken the resolve of those it wants to affect. No matter what they do to try and avoid those pesky feelings of love they find they can’t!
I wholeheartedly recommend this cozy mystery to one and all for you are about to be swept up in a magical story that you won’t want to put down even when it’s getting late!
Be kind to yourself and treat yourself to this cozy mystery that will have you smiling as you try to solve the the mystery of whodunnit!! With all the bad news constantly bombarding you from the idiot box take my advice and turn it off and curl up with this book that will enthrall you as the clues are given to see if you can solve the mystery before it’s revealed. I can’t wait to read it and catch up on what Kyla, Luke, Tabitha and Devin have been up to since we parted at the end of this book and I firmly believe you won’t either!
Joy’s book are deliciously addicting and I want

Murder at Moonstruck Manor….again!
This is the first of a new series but there was a prequel. You don’t have to have read the prequel but there are references in this book to it so I found it an easy transition since I did read the prequel. Some of the cast of characters has changed since the prequel but I really like where the series is going. I love most books by this author and she certainly doesn’t disappoint in this new series. There is magic, a little romance (but which one!), quirky characters, good and bad recipes, and a murder. I was kept interested and guessing until the end!
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Kyla is still trying to find her true witchly calling. An undercover assignment from Devin may bring her closer to it, just as she faces danger and death
What happens if the people around you move on with pieces of your past – and they don’t tell you? Sadly , friends and family don’t seem to realize that the not telling hurts more and makes you think more about the I wonder if and what if might have been still could be
You might celebrate new beginnings, if you knew about them. Without the info, when you stumble over a surprise, it just feels like betrayal
Can Kyla find the new beginnings for herself- if she survives this latest assignment, and if her heart makes it more or less intact?
Intense magical and personal drama, adventure and insights
Two breakfast cooks have been murdered in the past six months. So Officer Devin Gentry asks his witch friend, Kyla Hunt, to work undercover and investigate the murders at Moonstruck Manor Bed &Breakfast. Unfortunately for the clientele, cooking is not one of her skills! Devin showed the crime scene photos to Kyla. Both women had just stopped breathing and keeled over. And both happened to be cooks there. He showed her photos of Luke Shade who has been running the B&B for his Aunt Aubrey Dirksen for the past five years. The housekeeper was Nik Gates. Another witch, Jake, had already looked through the evidence but he found nothing. With all their leads gone cold, they needed Kyla to step in as their consultant and work on site. Jake couldn’t do it since he was male and didn’t fit the victim profile.
Arriving for her job interview, Kyla looked around and noticed many enchanted objects throughout the B&B while she waited for the Manager. Luke Shade was a tall, handsome man but very stiff and formal. He was dressed in a fancy 5-piece suit and insisted on being called “Mr. Shade” rather than “Luke”. He ran a B&B that catered to the paranormal, had a lobby full of magical objects, and yet she detected no magical ability from him. But he had researched well and knew she was a witch. But since no one else would work there now, he wanted her full-time and was willing to train her in gardening and other such skills. And he seemed to know her well already when he cautioned her to start with something “easy” for the breakfast guests!
After burning the bacon which set off the smoke alarm, the rest of breakfast ran smoothly. Kyla had brought a tray of muffins from her sister’s bakery, and she made scrambled eggs that were tolerable. She was asked by Mr. Slade to return that evening for a meet-and-greet out back to be introduced to the rest of the staff. He said she could bring a guest, so she brought Devin to get a look at the suspects in person. Nik Gates, the housekeeper, chatted with her and implied Luke didn’t like their cooking since it reflected poorly on the B&B. Luke’s personal friend, Alec Hopper, spoke up to ask Nik if he had admitted to Kyla yet about his own sleeping with the two married cooks, despite his also wearing a wedding band. Alec assured her she should be safe as long as she stayed away from the “dirtbag”. Hmmm, this was getting interesting. As she gathered information, would she be able to help the police find the killer? And would she figure out why she was so attracted to her boss, Mr. Slade?
This was a comfortable introduction to the B&B which is now managed by Luke instead of Aubrey with whom we had shared the prequel adventure. But happily, meeting Luke was equally pleasant. With Kyla hoping to get Devin’s interest back after their break-up 10 years ago – before she was ready for a marriage commitment – and her curious draw to Luke, it sounds like some exciting stories are ahead of us. Grab your copy and see if they can find a murderer, especially since Luke is also among the suspects! The talented author does a wonderful job with the story line and the characters who may be quirky but are fun to get to know!
Kyla is home after being away. She is trying to get together with her ex-boyfriend. When Devon comes to her about her working uncover at Moonstruck Manor to investigate two murders. Kyla takes the job even though she knows she can’t cook, but agrees anyway. Kyla has job interview set up with Luke at Moonstruck Manor. She is drawn to him, he tells her she has the job.
Kyla is conflicted she wants to get back with Devon, but she is drawn to Luke as well. They get closer as they work together, he even helps her learn making a breakfast. She is trying to learn about the two murders, she uncovers some information. Then the cookbook for the manor is missing as well, they have to figure out what happened.
That is just the some of what happens, didn’t want to give to much away about what happens. These was was a good story with interesting characters. I did not like what happens with her sister and Devon, but that is my opinion.

Mystery, romance, witches and more!
This is the first book of the Paranormal Bed & Breakfast Series but there was a prequel novella, Magically Poisoned, that introduced the reader to Moonstruck Manor, a B&B catering to the paranormal community. The events in this book take place a few years after the events of the prequel and involve different main characters but the mystery, intrigue and romance are consistent between the two stories. The main character in this story is Kyla Hunt, a witch. Since most of the local police department is comprised of non-magical humans with no knowledge of the paranormal world, Kyla is occasionally employed as a consultant because, as a witch, she can offer valuable insight into the magical realm when cases come along that appear to involve anything paranormal. At police request, she goes undercover taking a position as the new breakfast chef at the B&B in order to investigate the mysterious deaths of the two previous cooks. There are many potential suspects as the B&B does a very good business and lots of customers are always coming and going. Additionally, potential competitors who run a nearby B&B, also come under suspicion. As Kyla’s investigation proceeds she finds herself drawn to her new boss, the enigmatic manager of the B&B, Luke Shade, but is he a potential suspect, too? Will Kyla be able to figure out how and why those two women died before she, herself, is in danger? If you enjoy a good mystery with lots of twists and turns, likable and relatable characters, and a bit of clean romance, this book is an excellent choice.
I was provided with an advance copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.
This is a sweet and fun cozy mystery. I love how this author’s books make me feel.. Warm and comfy, like curling up in my favorite chair with a fluffy cat and a blanket…

Allow most of a day for this family-friendly paranormal mystery as Kyla Hunt the non-cook goes undercover to discover why two cooks have died in six months at Moonstruck Manor B&B.

This is the second book I have read in this series. I have loved both books, but Magically Murdered is my favorite. Luke and Kyla were immediately like friends you have known all your life. Luke has a secret and a painful past. Kyla has managed to run away from everything several times in her life. Why does Kyla feel at home at the B&B? Why is she so drawn toward Luke? This story has intrigue, warmth and a feeling of belonging. Cannot wait to read Magically Attached and see where the story leads. You will be glad you took the time to read this series.
The story line was good, the character work was terrific, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This book was not exactly what I was expecting, as I’m sure anyone that read the prequel Magically Poisoned feels. While I was surprised, it was pleasantly so. I was highly entertained from beginning to end and found myself laughing several times. I look forward to the next book in the series.
