Jasmine has been around magic all her life. She knows the rules, and she loves to break them. When she turned eighteen, her shifter powers manifested, just as she expected them to. When the Magical Creatures Academy invited her to attend the prestigious school, she wasn’t surprised. When she had a fling with a flirtatious fae over the summer, she thought nothing would come of it, especially as … come of it, especially as she’s had her eye on a mighty fine shifter at the academy.
But for once Jas is about to be shocked. The fae isn’t what he appeared to be, and neither is the amulet he left behind.
*** Jas will take you on a wild ride filled with loads of magic, sizzling adventure, sexy shifters and fae, and enough spunk to leave you wanting more.
*** Power Streak is best read as book 4 of the Magical Creatures Academy. However, Jas’ trilogy can also be read as a standalone series.
*** Jas embraces her wild side. This series is recommended for ages 16 and up due to language and sexual situations.

Jas is such a wonderful character that embraces her wild side. Lucia Ashta is a amazing author.
Love reading her books. Loved this one…
Lucia Ashta was a new to me author whose work I tried on a whim earlier in the year and boy am I glad that I did.
This author knows how to make you laugh and cry, while keeping the suspense rolling and surprising you with story and character twists and turns when you least expect it.
As soon as I learned that Lucia Ashta was writing more books in the Magical Creature Academy world, specifically Jas’s story, I immediately preordered the book and am just about to preorder the following books.
Jas is a character that I’ve been intrigued by since her first appearance in the Magical Creature Academy series and this book was everything and more than what I thought it would be.
Another fantastic read and I’m already looking forward to reading the next book!
I couldn’t be happier that the sassy skunk shifter got her own series! Jas was my favorite character in the original trilogy, and now we get to know her even better.
The story continues directly where the original trilogy left off, only from a different perspective. And it ties up a long-awaited loose end that I’m pretty sure all the readers have been wondering about: her interest in Ky!
I’d say the best part is by far the pandacorn, because, well, it’s a pandacorn. And he even has a purple mohawk. Who can compete with that?
Be ready for a serious cliffhanger at the end, so I’m definitely ready for the next book!
I love, love, love Lucia Ashta (or at least I love her books, as I’ve never actually, you know, met her). No surprise that I’m delighted to get a new book (4th in total) of her truly wonderful Magical Creatures Academy. Even better as this book, Power Streak, starts a sub-series “Next Level 1” trilogy within the Academy series. The book itself? Total fun. Perfectly written and with a star, Jas (Jasmine), who I can already tell is in for lots of surprises and growth in the books to come. It’s gonna be a great ride, and it’s off to a perfect start with this first installment.
Love this book. I never know what way it is going to go. I am sure the next book is going to be the best. Thanks for writing them.I honestly did not know if I was going to like the change in the book. I was so wrong. I was laughing out loud and reading parts to my 20 year old daughter. Once or twice I had to put the book down just because I didn’t want the story to end soon. Glad We got this book and got to see our friends from the other stories.
I will say this is probably my favorite book of Ashta’s so far, though I haven’t read them all yet. I love the spunk and sass throughout the book. Jas is very in your face but Ashta isn’t over the top about it. I personally could have handled more sass, but I think it’s just enough to appease the masses. This book is definitely more adult oriented with how sex-crazed Jas can be. The addition of the pandacorn is cute and makes Jas show her compassionate side. I’m interested to see where she will go with this story focusing around Jas.
Maybe I missed it, but I was confused about Jas’ summer fling and how she got her pendant. She doesn’t do the best job of re-explaining pertinent plot points of previous stories, and I feel like by now, since there are so many stories that all tie togher, it needs to be done a bit more. I appreciate moving the story forward without reliving the past, but we still need this a bit more. You definitely need to read the previous books about Selene and Reina. Despite the chaos throughout much of the book, I think Ashta did an admirable job tying together the stories while keeping with the feel of the other Magical Creatures Academy books. You still get to see your favorite characters. My only other criticism is that there are times where I think Ashta misses some opportunities for some plot development. I don’t know if it’s deliberate so she’s not taking the easy out, or if it’s completely accidental. I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to list any spoilers, but I hope it’s an opportunity for her improvement in her writing style in the future.
I seriously love this story so much. Jas is just so great and will have you laughing at times with the way she is. I could not put down at all as I had to keep going to know more. Can not wait for more for sure!
He he he he i can’t stop laughing. Jaz’s book is so funny with the power shifts, panda corns Ky finally getting closer and of course the bare trolls. Can you say Full moon everybody. There is also the mystery of the pendant and also if so will meet Jabar.
This is an entertaining and addictive read with a sassy and snarky heroine! This has a great storyline and awesome characters and this will have you on the edge of your seat with its twists and turns. With visits from some old favourite characters as well as some new ones , I can’t wait to read more!
Power Streak is Book 1 in the Magical Creatures Academy – Next Level series by Lucia Ashta. This is an awesome book where we have new characters/creatures but Ms. Ashta has also brought some characters from her previous series into it as well. The world building and story line are phenomenal (as usual) and the character are well development and have complex traits and multiple levels. Jaz, MFC, has a snarky personality and at time makes you laugh. Lucia’s writing style draws you into the story and keeps you turning pages to the end because you need to know what’s coming next. We have a bit of a cliff hanger ending and you find yourself anxious for the next book to see what Lucia has in store for Jaz and friends. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
It’s now Jas’s turn to shine and boy does she. I just love this snarky girl with her off the cuff comments. The story is amazing as always. I liked how there’s a few cameos from some of the others amazing worlds from Ms. Ashta mixed through out the story. Can’t wait to see where we go from here
Loved it!!!
This is an amazing book, love the way the characters of the two previous series got together in this new amazing story!!! … Great world building, story line and our already beloved crew, make this new series a page turner with its easy to read pace … Jas is the MC now and she finds herself involved in a real mess with hard and tragic consecuences, adding to that the Voice still trying to take over the supernatural and human world, our Academy crew have their hands full of things to figure it out!!! … Can’t wait to know what will happen next!!!
I love, love, loved this book! Jazz (or Jas) is a very unique character. She keeps you entertained with her snarkiness and sass. I couldn’t help laughing out loud at some of her antics. Try calling her by her full name (Jasmine) and she will let you know in no uncertain terms what she thinks about it. I loved all the creatures/characters in this book. They are very well written with uniqueness and depth. Also, you will find references to characters in many of Ms Ashta’s previous works. One in particular is Clara from The Witching World Series who also shows up in The Magical Arts Academy and this Magical Creatures Academy. She has always been one of my favorite characters that Ms Ashta has written and I was thrilled to find out a little bit about what has happened with her! But you don’t need to have read any of her other series in order to enjoy this one on its own. As usual, Ms Ashta has written many twists and turns in this book that you never see coming. It keeps you on your toes trying to figure out what happens next. They will all surprise you. If you are looking to read a great fantasy with magic and shape shifters, look no further. This one will keep you glued to the pages and won’t let you go. I was blessed to receive an advance reader copy at no cost from the author. I highly recommend it. You definitely won’t regret picking it up.
Language, scenes and some serious drama. Reminded me of college. I’m still not sure why Jas is so feisty, but she definitely does not let up. And man, can that girl think on her feet! I look forward to seeing who’s butt she kicks in book 2!
ONE EXCITING WILD RIDE!!!
Crap on toast! Lucia showcases 100% on point realism, kicking up a churning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a slew of surprising events that keep you flipping page after page. Lucia not only brought it, she sewed the tapestry, mended the lines and mastered the scenes. Leaping through hoops, hurdling the trials and tribulations along with a bounty of plot twists that blasts this bad boy to life flawlessly. The chemistry sizzles as each layer is peeled back exposing a deep bond and amplifying affections that leave you breathless, craving more. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with such depth and qualities that blend and transform into amazing personalities. The scenes are so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right there standing in the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job Lucia, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Wow this is a fantastic read. Jas goes through quite the hurdles to discover her magic. The Author really brings out this academy fantasy world with shifters. There is humor as well. This read is a real page turner that your sure to love. The characters come to life on these pages I felt like I really got to know the characters. And could vividly see them in my minds eye. I definitely recommend this read.
