The safeguards have collapsed.A clan of fae is seizing lands vital to all Magicals. A Keeper of the ancient trees is using tainted magic against her mother’s command. And a bladesman exploited by his longing for redemption is about to commit the unforgivable.A growing circle of witches, druids, and other Magicals make offers to help Calliope Jones and her sons. But for Calli, trust is … But for Calli, trust is earned–whether in forming alliances, making friends, or becoming lovers. Tanner Marechal, the leader of the druids, wants to be more than her friend. To properly pursue Calliope, he must confront his tangled history with his former partner and now nemesis, the Apple Witch.
The promise of a magic-filled future shimmers in Calliope’s imagination. All she has to do is grant Tanner the time he needs, survive the life-and-death machinations of two factions of Fae, and fulfill her given mission: to fix the system of magical replenishment that broke long before she was born.

I love Calliope Jones. That’s all there is to it.
MAGIC RECLAIMED is Book 2 of the Magic series by Coralie Moss, and continues Calliope’s story as she comes to terms with her new life, reconciling the world of witches, druids, shifters, and fae, with her everyday life as a working, homeowner, single mom. I love that the Magic world created by Ms. Moss is also the real world, where kids need to be fed and guests need to be cared for (even if they happen to have wings!). Calli could be your neighbor and fit right into the world you know, all the while having this magical story happening around her.
In MAGIC RECLAIMED, witch Calliope and her druid love interest, Tanner, continue to search for the Pearmains. However, there’s a new old witch in town, the powerful Apple Witch, who has her sights set on Tanner. The story is written beautifully, the magical world explained with lovely details. I appreciated that the author reminded the reader of the happenings in Book 1, so that I didn’t feel lost, (although I would recommend that readers start with MAGIC REMEMBERED (Book 1)).
If you love beautifully written prose, magical stories, and page-turnering, nature-based fiction, go pick up MAGIC REMEMBERED and then MAGIC RECLAIMED, and fall in love with Calliope!
Wow what a wonderful read and it will take you on a journey. She finds trusting difficult and they are trying to help her. What is going to happen? Can she find the trust she needs? See where this journey will take you

Calliope Jones is still fighting her former husband for her sons. And the Apple Witch for Tanner and the caretakers of the orchard. Luckily she has added her grandfather whose a gyrfalcon, a necromancer and another shifter to her support team. Coralie Moss has built a fantastic world with characters that draw you into their joy, fear, anger, and resolve. And Calliope Jones is the best kind of hero, the kind that seems real. She has doubts but fights for those she loves anyway.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Reading about Calliope and her son’s is fantastic with a little bit of romance thrown in. I highly recommend reading this series!
Devoured is probably the perfect word to describe how I read the book. I love these books so much! There is so much attention to detail and such beautiful descriptive language is used. Her books are truly a joy to read and I’m always left wanting more when they are done. I love how the magic is handled and how realistic the characters are. I love that Calliope always has an internal dialogue going on that mirrors those that a real mother and responsible adult would have. It’s so nice to read a book where the main character is level headed, responsible, looking for love and happiness, but not just jumping into the sack at the first whim of attraction. This book was the perfect sequel to the first book and now I have the long wait until the next one is available! I am a fan for life!
Magic Reclaimed #2 – I like this second book almost as much as I like the first. Just take the review from the Remembered and add a few new, interesting characters, more action and drama, and romances. For those who care, there’s explicit sex that covers three chapters straight, which I skipped since written sex is boring to me, and some vulgar language usage in certain instances.
Callie is learning more about herself and has a group of friends and family help against her ex and his family. The rituals are well described, although this author shares that insistence of making the character not pay attention to what is happening, at least many of her thoughts weren’t sexual. Some of those thoughts are stupid. There’s better sexual tension between Callie and Tanner, but that stops after the sex happened. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Magic Remembered #1- This is my first read by this author and I was surprised to like it. The beginning got on my nerves with a bit of covert preaching, not religious, PC, that everyone nowadays must forced down readers’ throats. Who are they to decide the proper way to act and live? But I’m big enough to know that some things work out and this story did for me. I like the fact that Callie is 41-years-old and a self-assured woman, even after discovering she’s a witch. Not realizing it she had been practicing magic in her own way. Anyway the ball gets rolling on her becoming a trained witch.
There’s a not-so-nice festering boil for an ex-husband. The characters are interesting and mature, even the teenagers; no stupidity. They blend in well with the well written storylines and keep the reader interested in every page. Moving along at a steady pace, the author’s descriptive style doesn’t bog down, although she has detailed scenes. The care Ms. Moss shows throughout the pages actually enhance (except with clothing) the story; there’s a reason for the detail.
I did get bored with the constant lust she has for the stranger helping her; why does this happen at inappropriate moments? There is a difference between sexual tension and the common, overused lookingathisparts&wantingtoravagehim, etc. Ms. Moss did have some originality with her witch and the twists in the plot, and I’d like to read the next book in this series Magic Reclaimed since I like this type of witch and the writing style. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
A witch’s work is never done. Especially if that witch is still learning to use and control her magic, while raising teenage sons, trying to fight off evil forces, deal with new family members, and fend off an annoying ex-husband. Are you tired yet, because I am.
Calliope Jones is back in book 2 which picks up right where Magic Remembered left off. You will want to read that one before digging into this one. You ever watch one of those TV shows where you have to really pay attention or you’ll miss something important? Well, that is what Magic Reclaimed is like.
Old issues still need to be settled, while new ones keep appearing and Calliope along with her merry band of Magicals are fending them off at every turn. There are subtleties and clues intertwined so well that if you aren’t really paying attention you might miss them. Ms. Moss creates her world with beautiful prose and tiny nuances that breathes life into the characters and the story as a whole.
As I said in my review of Magic Remembered, one of the unique things about this Urban Fantasy is that the heroine is not in her twenties. She’s older, beginning a new phase of her life, but shows that age is only a number and that saving the world isn’t just for the young folks.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I adore Ms. Moss’s style. The world she’s created with this series is just breathtaking. And her characters, while magical and fantastical in nature, are so gosh darn relatable. It’s one of my favorite aspects of her world. That clash between the unknown and the familiar. It makes for a truly enjoyable read!
The story definitely had me intrigued. You never know what is going to hit you next so good had me turning pages from start to finish to see what happens.
Magic Reclaimed is the second book in the series. Is a stand-alone book but reading the first book would be helpful to follow along.
This is a wonderful story with a lot of magic and with Callie trying to live a normal life and coping with knowing she’s a witch. Also with everything that’s going on on the magical side.

Coralie Moss does it again in the second installment of her Calliope Jones series. While the first book, Magic Remembered, focused on Calliope’s self-discovery as a witch, Magic Reclaimed is full of the complications this discovery creates in her life. Calliope deals with its impact on her family, her job, and her romantic relationship. The magic may be fictional, but there’s nothing made-up about the messiness of raising teenagers, dating after divorce, or family relationships, and Moss skillfully weaves it all into this story.
Magic Reclaimed raises the stakes in the series, and there’s heart-pounding action–both the fighting kind and the kind with our favorite moody druid. I can’t wait to see it all resolved in Book 3. But I hope Moss has more planned for the magical world of Salt Spring Island.
