In the shadow of Dimmingwood, she finds temporary protection with a band of forest brigands led by the infamous outlaw Rideon the Red Hand.

Once started could not finish the series
I’ve only read the first book, but I feel like this is like a Ken Follet novel of young adult fiction (in the way it follows a young woman’s life and development in her bandit community and development of her magical skill). I had hoped for a more solid closure to the first book (think Terry Goodkind) but like most authors out there, money is to …
This book I one book I would want to read a lot more than I already have.
The book is one that I was intrigued about. I liked it but it didn’t keep my attention like other books. This is not a book that I would put in that genre.
Predictable
I enjoy very much……
Great fantasy book. will look for the next in the series.
Great heroine
A tired Lord of the Rings cover
It took the author a long, long time to tell a very short story, I honestly skipped pages in each chapter and still felt like this was a long introductory chapter for a (hopefully) more interesting story.
Hard to put down !
Great read
Read his Conan stuff when I was much younger and enjoyed it… now getting to read this… enjoyable…
I wasn’t sure, until I finish the first book and bought the next six I think, that I was going to read this whole series. It’s light and so far has kept me interested totally for pleasure.
Great book
Good read, but the characters were able to get out of predicaments way too easy.
good characters, lots of action, lots of violence, brigands, surprising compassion and lack thereof. If I read series, I’d get the next one. Too busy right now.
Magic of Thieves by C. Greenwood is the first installment in the Legends of Dimmingwood series. In a village where magic is forbidden, Ilan must find safety in the forest of Dimmingwood.
Plot 4/5: Good plot about a girl coming into her power.
Characters 5/5: Well fleshed out characters.
World building 4/5: Good world building within the …
As a work of literature this book sadly does not amount to much. But as it was intended to be a light reading to pass some time it served it’s purpose well and I enjoyed it.
Recived this free for a review. It was in interesting story, but I was very unhappy when I realized it was continued. Maybe one day I will run across the second book for free.
