You’ve marveled at the world hidden under our very noses, discovered the four families of magic (Terra, Ethereal, Shade, & Elemental), and witnessed the well-oiled machine that is A.S.S.E.T (Anonymous Supernatural Security and Elimination Taskforce). Now, watch it all fall into anarchy unless one rogue agent can destroy the Weapon of Magical Destruction once and for all.All magic comes at a … comes at a price.
Using the Weapon of Magical Destruction might not have been Sage’s smartest idea, but what choice did she have? Now she’s dying from the effects of the magic absorbing seed embedded in her hand.
If that weren’t enough to ruin her day, news of Sage’s criminal misconduct has spread like wildfire landing her on top of the Magical Most Wanted list. Can’t a girl catch a break?
Being hunted by the shadow clans, and cut off from A.S.S.E.T. Sage is forced to go deep under cover, on a quest to collect the elements needed invoke the magic of the Mother Goddess to destroy the seed once and for all.
Not an easy task when every shadow is a potential enemy. If she fails, it’s game over. If she succeeds, she’s still a wanted criminal for using forbidden magic. But at least then she might live long enough to clear her name, right?
Combining elements of Agents of SHIELD with The Magicians and Supernatural, the Agents of A.S.S.E.T. book series is a Fantasy Thriller aimed at readers who enjoy a healthy dose of snarky comedy peppered with pop culture easter eggs.

“Nooooooo!!!!!!” she wails into the night like a dying banshee. The book can’t be over already. With each book released, this series gets better and better. Sage learns a little bit more about what it means to be a Terra and an agent of ASSET, as well as some valuable lessons in the nature of trust and when and how to be circumspect. (Those are lessons she’s still working on though…) I love watching the various push/pull dynamics between Sage and the people in her life, because I never can quite tell which direction an encounter is going to take us. I’ve been a fan of the author’s work for a while now, but I’ve only recently come to this series. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, already.
She used a magic she should not have but she had to. Now the magic is killing her and she is now wanted by everyone. She has to find a way to get rid of the magic which will let her live to prove she is innocent. Or will it? See how she gets on

This was sooo fun to read. It flowed flawlessly from the prior book and still kept me wanting more. There is everything you want in a book, action, adventure, the paranormal and some romance as well. I can’t wait for more!
**** SPOILER ALERT ****
Salidas takes us on a wild ride in “Magic In Disguise: Agents Of A.S.S.E.T. #3” the third installment of this phenomenally entertaining series. The author continues their superlative world building and character development as we follow along on Sage’s next adventure as she struggles to find a way to stay alive and come to terms with the after effects of her previous adventures. I couldn’t put this entertaining book down. I highly recommend this book and series.
In the interest of transparency: I was given a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review.
It is my own honest opinion.
Wow, Just Wow
Yes I know I am a little late getting to read and review this, so maybe you should stone me. Sometimes you just have to be in the mood to read a genre is all and this book will not let you down.
Reading this book is full of excitement and you find yourself wanting to hit Sage upside the head for not just sitting by and listening to Grey, but then she wouldn’t be Sage if she did that.
Every page is filled with bad people and excitement and you never seem to know who to trust. Once you start reading you won’t want to put it down. Damn let me tell you it will have a ending you will never see coming.
Love it..
Until Next Time… Tabi
First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Holy shiznet!!! This is a gr8 continuation of book one. Sage is dealing with the seed as best she can. She and Grey find a way to save Sage and remove the seed from Sage’s hand only to run into lots of trouble. I look forward to reading the next book. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up.
Sage keeps on running… and (almost) everybody is chasing her
„Magic in Disguise“ is the third book in the “Agents of A.S.S.E.T. (Anonymous Supernatural Security and Elimination Taskforce)” with Sage Cynwrig as the main character running once again feet over head into the next adventure. This time around Sage herself finds herself somehow on the wrong side of the rules and needs to go into hiding. To avoid spoilers for those who still have not read the previous books…
(BTW… what are you waiting for? A written invitation? Well here you go… I highly recommend reading the whole series, with the explicit promise of great entertainment, fabulous characters and interesting plots)
… so once again, to avoid spoilers, suffice to say that Sage used forbidden magic in the previous book “A Weapon of Magical Destruction”. Now she is being hunted by some rogue group determined to obtain this magic at all cost and by the very same A.S.S.E.T. for breaking the rules.
Sage is really into deep: some shadowy characters are hunting her, the magic is slowly killing her, her best friend has become a Vampire, and her only ally is Agent Grey Maddox. What follows is a fine rollercoaster of turns and twist, mystery, suspense, while we willingly follow Sage through her current disaster.
Katie Salidas’ writing improves with each installment, the magical verse deepens and becomes richer and more complex, the characters are interesting and multidimensional, and the plot extends to show more of the A.S.S.E.T.-verse.
I highly recommend the whole series and cannot wait for the next “disaster”….
A destructive seed killing her. A new vampire learning how to control his abilities. Just another day in Sage’s life. Sage has the seed of destruction in her hand and it is slowly destroying her. Her hand is decaying. They have tried cutting it out of her hand but it doesn’t work. And now other magical beings know she has it and want her. She and Gray are reading everything they can to try to figure out how to remove it. But can anything work? She and Gray are on the run from everyone. I received this book in return for a review.
First I love Katie Salidas writing it seems to flow so effortlessly without the vexing misplaced or missing words that I have found with some Indie authors , nicely edited. Her character building is very good as is her world building. What better place on Earth for a magical story to take place and have all the magical characters so effortlessly fit in with their environment than Las Vegas, NV. There is so much that can happen in this type of setting and so much to explore as an agent of A.S.S.E.T. Sage, the main character, is thrown into the world of magic upon her mothers death but is taken under the wing by A.S.S.E.T., her mother’s former employer, that help her understand what is happening. I have loosely described what has taken place. You will have to read the story to find out what happens, magic ensues. You will not be disappointed.
The third book slowed down a bit and gave Sage and Grey a chance to evolve their relation to something that leaves the reader hanging for more. This book closes a “chapter” and opens a whole new world of possibilities! Waiting for the next one! 🙂
This is the 3rd installment of the Agents of A.S.S.E.T series featuring Sage Cymwrig. She grew up in Phoenix unaware of her mother’s actual profession as one of these buffers between the regular human and the arcane world. Her mom died in the line of duty and Sage discovers she is actually a Terran, one of the great lineages created with absolute immunity to magic. Heritage obliges her to continue the family profession, but in the previous episode she has come up against something beyond the usual, and it’s kept at bay only by being stuck to her, literally.
This episode is about how the spreading blackness in Sage’s left hand is finally remedied, and in the process, all manner of conspiracies and power schemes are exposed. Also exposed are the vulnerabilities in her partner Grey’s past that have been scuttling their effectiveness as a team. While the rest of her life is literally burnt to the ground, Sage and Grey race against time to get assistance and materials for a showdown with the Goddess Herself.
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. But I would gladly have gotten this action-packed heart-wringing adventure on my own.
As we enter the magical world of A.S.S.E.T (Anonymous Supernatural Security and Elimination Taskforce) once again in Magic of Disguise we find that our favorite agent Sage Cynwrig has gone into hiding from using forbidden magic.
After using the forbidden magic Sage ended up with the Weapon of Magical Destruction inside her palm and now this magic seed is slowly killing her not to mention the shadow people are looking for her as they want to take this magic seed for their own and will stop at nothing to obtain it.
Sage with the help of her partner and Agent Grey Maddox set out to find a way to remove this magic seed before it kills her. Sage and Grey don’t know who to trust on their hunt to find a way to remove the magic seed from Sage’s hand. They run into many obstacles along the way with friends who betray them and enemies who reach out with a helping hand.
Magic in Disguise is filled with lots and lots of twists and turns that will keeping you racing through the pages with all the mystery and suspense and keep you hanging on until the end trying to figure it all out. The magical world of A.S.S.E.T is so amazingly awesome that I can’t seem to get enough of it and can’t wait for more.
I want to learn more about each and every agent. I also want to more about Matt and his new life as a vampire and how that turns out for him and what about Josh? I also want to know more about the magic is this world and what it is capable of.
I highly recommend Magic in Disguise to everyone who loves a good book set in a magical world of fantasy and the paranormal but I do suggest that you start with book one in the Agents of A.S.S.E.T. series A Weapon of Magical Destruction and then gone on to read book two A Taste of Your Own Magic before reading Magic in Disguise. I recommend all three books highly. One click yourself a copy of the Agents of A.S.S.E.T. series today!
Loved the storyline which is well written and flowed smoothly. Having characters that are well developed and engaging made for a fun read.

Magic in Disguise by Katie Salidas is a wonderful story that I read. This is book number three in the series and I loved it. This is another win for this author the last two were and win and now this one I highly recommend this story to all.

This third book in the ASSET series has you on tenderhooks as Sage and Grey try to find a way to remove the ancient seed from Sage’s hand before it kills her. Not only do they face her potential death but they must try to find the cure while hiding from the various groups that are hunting them. Intrigue, battles and surprises have you wondering who is trustworthy and who is the enemy. The growing attraction between Sage and Grey smoulders and you can’t wait to see how it develops in future books. This is a really gripping story that competed many story threads but still left room for future expansion.
Our heroine broke the law to save the day, but now she has to face the consequences. Who can she trust to help her make it right?
This is a wonderful urban fantasy series that just gets better with each story. We continue to see more and more the magical world that our characters live in and keeps opening up new questions. But in the main plot, our heroine is in a bit of a jam and allies turn to enemies (and vice versa) seemingly at the drop of a hat.
This book is packed with plenty of action and intrigue to keep your adrenaline pumping and you second guessing everything that happens. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you reading well past bedtime. Who care if you have work tomorrow.
The story is well written, with a fascinating world and intriguing characters. With each book our characters get fleshed out a little more, making them even better. This is a wonderful way to pass some time, immersed in our heroine’s latest disaster.
Highly recommended.

After the events of the last book I had to read this straight away to see what would happen now and boy this book did not disappoint.
Sage not only has to deal with her best friend Matt becoming a Vampire in order to save him but is also now on leave from ASSET due to her current predicament with the seed ie Weapon of Magical Destruction firmly embedded in her hand and slowly killing her, they have tried to get it out but it doesn’t want out. Ava decides to let Sage back on board but last only a moment and now her and Grey are on the run not only from ASSET but also some rouge group who want the seed. While they try and figure out another way to get the seed out people they thought they could trust may no longer be able to and they have to risk asking those who could easily turn on them for help. There is plenty of stress with thinking Sage may truly die with how the seed is spreading and nail biting in regards to why Ava turned on them we also get to see Grey let Sage in a bit more and understand why he is so aloof with her. I can not wait to see where things go for not only Sage and Grey but also Matt, Luke and Devon!!

The dark seed was gaining ground and Sage had little time to get rid of it. Facing doubts, betrayal and a horrible pain, she was seeking answer to a predicament a Terra junior agent was not supposed to deal with. Who to trust? What was real and what’s not? An action-packet story with exciting descriptions and narrations that stimulate the imagination, lot of suspense, different Paranormal, darkness, mystery, secrets, strong emotions, and violence. Liked how Sage’s character was crafted, the impetuosity of youth with a strong sense of friendship, care and honor. Grey kept me intrigued all the time. Sage could not have a better partner to help her. Hope to see more of them in the future.
It was quite good read creative with amorous scenes and challenging scenarios as the plot unveiled and journey through their relationship.
Magic In Disguise
Agents of A.S.S.E.T. Book 3
You have to love it – Sage is darned if she does and darned if she doesn’t. Ever since using the weapon she is wanted, and not in a good way. Hopefully she will have a chance to clear her name. Only time will tell though – First she needs to collect the elements in time. Wish her luck – she is going to need it. This was fast paced, and full of adrenaline. I thought it was phenomenal.
