“If urban fantasy could be bottled, then this story is a shot-glass full of awesomesauce.” – Dark Side of the Covers Reviews
When monsters appear in Los Angeles, Maggie MacKay is on the job. No one is better at hauling the creepy crawlies back where they belong. No one, that is, except her dad, who disappeared in the middle of an assignment.
Now an elf named Killian has shown up with a gig. … up with a gig. Seems Maggie’s uncle teamed up with the forces of darkness to turn Earth into a vampire convenience store, serving bottomless refills on humans.
The only hope for survival lies in tracking down two magical objects and a secret that vanished with Maggie’s dad.

Kate Danley’s world is filled with whimsical, entertaining characters and action packed scenes. I love her style, and I love salty characters and that’s what I think of when I think of Maggie. I am looking forward to the second book in the series!
A thoroughly enjoyable read.
The characters are very entertaining and well described. It’s amusing, full of action and has an intriguing storyline.
There are some very funny moments such as when Killian (the elf) had passed a compliment to Maggie. ‘I suddenly felt very awkward. So I lobbed the bagel at his head.’
Rather ironic that Maggie …
I loved this book. The characters were great and the protagonist is extremely sarcastic. Her descriptions of people are hysterical, she says and or thinks what she feels without apology (most of the time.) Her cat is not even safe from her snarky internal dialogue. I believe this is a coping mechanism for her as all manner of unpleasant …
I enjoyed this sassy adventure. The whole story flows along at the same steady pace with no time to get bored. The characters are cute and funny.
Maggie for Hire is chock full of fun banter and interesting characters with a unique storyline. A fast-paced, enjoyable read!
I read books for entertainment and like mystery/urban paranormal books. This book fit the specifications. I like the way the author fit the weird into every day like.
Predictable
Hilarious and great fun to Read . I really enjoyed the characters both human and inhuman on the Other Side! Can’t wait to read book 2.
This was unexpected, I enjoyed it and thought the characters were entertaining. I don’t think I would read more in the series though
Loved the family ending and the bad guy looses
I tend to read books that are on kindle unlimited. This 1st book is one of these. Considering purchasing the next
A little too YA for me.
The main character in this book is not your everyday heroine. She comes with her own rules and no filter!
A little predictable, but light and entertaining. Just the sort of book I like reading after a long day at work.
This was fun. She’s sassy.
Almost gave this one a 3. Then realized, the author didn’t drive me up a wall describing every detail of every male the heroine sees. Maggie finds herself fighting a vampire that surprises jer by knowing her name. The fugitive isn’t supposed to know the bounty hunter. Then in comes an elf who proclaims himself to be her partner in a “save the …
Good light read.
Funny and cute
Great read
Light, easy to read parallel universe book. A bit predictable but still entertaining.
