Two of my favorite authors writing together is a dream come true. Mafia Lullaby is an interesting story and unlike anything, I thought it would be. I do not want to give anything away because I think this book is well worth jumping in without knowing anything about it.
Mafia Lullaby is well worth the read. If you have ever read Alta or Measha then you know it is well worth the time and effort to read. Enjoy!
Lullaby is certainly not the case for Ariana, how could it be the last thing she remembered was the ATM machine, or was it the bus stop, why was she so groggy and who was this man asking her to call him Daddy. Costello would do what he always done train them and get them sold, but this new girl, something wasn’t right until he worked it out she was putting herself and him in a bad situation. The added chills given by Nanny Nancie and the lullaby juice is unbelievable, the chemistry between some of these guys and their little girls wants the happy ever after, but only a lullaby takes away a nightmare doesn’t it, brilliant read. I voluntarily reviewed this
There is something in mafia world called lullaby that makes people sooo different. And there is a house for people like that where they are obligated to spend some time. This happened to Ariana, and Costello is her best and only person there.
This is a whole new perspective that the authors provide us with, the perspective into how things can be done in mafia to run more smoothly and safer. It is dark, twisted and se*y and they never disappoint when it comes to good plot twists.

These are two of my one-click authors so I knew a little bit of what to expect, but I know now that I wasn’t prepared. This one is dark! It’s going to go down as one of those stories that I had to keep putting down and then couldn’t walk away from. I honestly wondered if I would be able to finish it because my life is pretty dark right now, but every time I sat the book down I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It literally haunted my thoughts, and still does if I’m being honest. Parts of the story made my stomach cramp and brought me to the edge of tears, but other parts were full of love and passion and redemption. This isn’t one for the faint of heart, and you may feel like you have been gutted before you reach the end, but if you are a lover of the darkest of the dark then you shouldn’t miss this one. You won’t be disappointed.
What happens when you get two authors like Measha Stone and Alta Hensley together to write a mafia romance? You get a dark story that is basically kinky af. I mean, imagine kinky books and then multiply that by about 100000 and you may have the idea.
I like Ariana. I think that she’s really smart. She’s had to be in order to survive. I think that she’s also very canny too, which is really important with the life she’s currently living. She has also learned to endure, which a lot of people discount. Being able to endure means that you can get through a whole lot without breaking.
Costello isn’t bad overall, but he has a real journey to go through while he’s in this book, and it’s one I heartily approve of. He needed to have that journey in order to be deserving of Ariana.
Chilling and dark Lullaby lies
—>>> Ariana and Costello’s story is a chilling and dark tale tale of abduction, mind control, and Daddy training for the purposes of ownership. It is one of those stories you need to read for yourself, but there may be many triggers for you, so please be forewarned. Costello never had a such a challenging little girl to train before, and Ariana will definitely be the one who does so, as well as get his singular attention. Flags are raised when Ariana refuses to conform, but there are also people in this Romano mafia system who need to be watched closely.
Put on your big girl pants
It should come as no surprise that these two authors have managed to create such a riveting story. The characters are so realistic and believable that you cry at their upsets and cheer at their triumphs. The authors took us through this new dark world of mafia slavery and let these two guide us along the way. By the end, I was so invested in the outcome of the story and Costello and Ariana’s relationship that I just couldn’t put the book down. I really hope that these two authors pair up again to bring us more books to enjoy.
Mafia Lullaby is a seriously dark, daddy romance with elements of non-con (through drug use). I am not making much sense. Okay, the mafia has this ‘buisness’ where they kidnap girls, then put them in training. Its basically one big house where they drug you and brainwash you before youre sold to your new master. Overall I would reccomend this book, but only to those who enjoy darker romances.

Alta Hensley and Measha Stone are both great authors and I enjoy them. They both write dark romance that is one of my favorite genres. But, this book had me running to take a shower after I got done reading, and if I could have showered my brain, I would have. Here’s the positives. This book had crazy twists and turns, the characters were interesting and well developed, and there was great pace in the story. The big BUT for me was the “dark little theme”. Dark romance and littles, even though they were adults, really bothered me. They weren’t consenting littles, they were drugged and that drug regressed them mentally. So while the Lullaby Girls had the body of an adult, they had the brain of a 6 year old and in some cases younger. So the very best I can do is rate this as a 2 1/2 stars, it was just to cringy for me.

Mafia Lullaby: A Dark Captive Romance by Alta Hensley and Measha Stone was wroth with a Dark, Disturbing, Depravity that had me at a constant state of mental, and emotional disconnect.
I found myself trying to rush through this book, with every intent to read something light, cleansing, and a little less disturbing.
I kept telling myself that this was someone’s creative work of art, but I found myself thinking, that somewhere, there are those that think that this behavior of taking away someone else’s freedom, for his/her own enjoyment is acceptable.
I understand roleplay, and fantasy are things that each individual decides for himself, or herself, but I was nauseated on several occasions.
In my mind Costello, was an Antihero, that I got a glimpse of on a surface level, but I didn’t ever really see beneath the in depth layers.
I get that he was dealing with life the best way that he knew how, and enjoying it, but I never really connected with who he really was deep down.
Costello’s relationship with Ariana was true to form in that it was stilted and nonconsensual, but I guess that was to be expected, since the title states that it is a Dark Captive romance.
Ariana, the h, had a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome, and her and Costello’s relationship was just wrong in so many ways.
This was definitely not my cup of tea, but the reality is, that this is someone’s cup of tea, and if it is your’s, drink up.

What would you do if you were suddenly ripped from your average everyday life & thrust into a dark & deadly new reality?
Within the first few pages of this chilling story, that is exactly what happens to Adriana.
Kidnapped, captured, drugged, Adriana wakes to her new & horrifying world controlled by a ruthless & deadly mob boss: one of many women being trained to be a ‘Lullaby girls aka baby girls’ for future purchasing ‘Daddy’s’.
And her trainer ‘Daddy’ (Costello) is a hard, cold, lethal man locked on one goal: successfully training Adriana to be someone’s ‘baby girl’. He doesn’t hesitate to use his size, his physical strength as well as his natural & learned force of will & intensely dominant personality to do just that. And his lessons are re-enforced with spankings, beltings & humilations to ensure Adriana complies & becomes a perfect ‘Lullaby girl’.
Because BOTH their lives depend on his success.
This one pulled me in, the writing was excellent & the characters were intriguing: Costello, Adriana as well as a host of others in their ‘Lullaby’ world. The authors did an excellent job fleshing out the characters populating this world, the reader becomes more & more entrenched in the story, hoping ginst hope for Adriana to prevail, for Costello to develop some spark of humanity, for the true villains to recieve their due.
This one will, I think, thrill & chill the reader as they contemplate the situation Adriana finds herself in through no fault of her own, & sympathize with her ever increasing struggles to maintain her sanity AND survive. A very well written suspenseful dark capture tale that I very much enjoyed.

This book had an intricate story line which I had not come across before. It was well thought out and came across really clearly whilst the characters were gritty and likeable . It was a dark and steamy read and the HAE had to be fought for. Really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend.

Love the storyline. It was so captivating and takes on a dark side of Daddy/little story. Very intense and twisted. Costello and Ariana were great characters, both strong and intriguing. There chemistry was hot and super steamy. There was some creepy Mafia stuff coming into the story, kidnappings, danger, suspense but that just makes the story more interesting. Great read and I highly recommend. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Whilst this deals with dark themes of captivity and sex slavery, it didn’t hit very high on my dark-o-meter.
I have to say I’m surprised at the number of reviewers who found the DD/lg theme disturbing because to me it really wasn’t very DD/lg at all. Ariana’s co-captives had been regressed via drugging, but we didn’t really see true DD/lg play. If you don’t regress, well there’s no returning to your normal life, which doesn’t leave many options!
To my mind the shock factor/ horror comes from the fact that these are drugged sex slaves being sold off to goodness knows what future abuse. The age play element was mainly calling their trainer Daddy, us being told they were colouring and the fact that they had ‘nannies’ who looked after them during the day. I was more concerned that we didn’t truly see much in the way of training, if I’m honest.
The writing flows seamlessly and I couldn’t say author A wrote this part, whilst B definitely wrote that. The two voices were blended into a very easy to read writing style. The characters felt very firm and consistent, the story had good pace and, whilst it is similar to many other “captive” stories, I definitely found it to be an enjoyable read. Both Ariana and Costello were likeable characters and their story was quite sweet, if also a bit kinky and a lot ‘wrong’ (though NOT for the kinky element I hasten to add!).
It was all just a little too nice for my tastes, a little too sweet with its timely interventions and easy solutions. I like my captives to suffer and other than a few spankings/paddlings I didn’t really experience that. I didn’t feel enough fear, terror or despair from Ariana, nor menace and cruelty from Costello. In fact he was just far too nice and gentle a man, particularly considering he was involved in the abduction, torture and training of sex slaves. Acknowledgement was given to the fact that he was a “bad man”, and Ariana did challenge him over his attitude and regard of his previous trainees.
I would have enjoyed this more if they had both been a little bit fiercer, if there had been more fire and fight. However that’s because I like my captive romances on the pitch black end of the spectrum and I’m confident this book will be perfect for many readers who like a lighter shade of grey. Mafia Lullaby is still a well written book and one that is definitely worth giving a try.
Alta’s darkest fantasy so far. The characters are interesting, the story is packed with hot scenes, a lot of bdsm and kink details, but a lot of romance as well. I like these kinds of stories, the darker the better
Not for the for the faint of heart, this newest release is everything you want in a dark romance read and more. I loved the development of the characters, Costello will grow on you as he goes from bad to good. Ariana character changes as the storyline comes to life. Together they make such great chemistry that will have you cheering for their HEA. If you love your romance read with an interesting, page turning story than this is a one click for you.
Disturbing.
Ariana is broke and desperate.
So of course, she ends up in a way worse situation. She’s reduced to a child. Hence the lullaby. Costello degraded women into helpless girls. But then decides he wants her for himself after breaking her
And reducing her into, well.
It’s dark.
Can Costello train Ariana only to let her go like the Lullaby girls before
This is a dark story about the mafia taking lonely women off the streets to make them their Lullaby girls to auction off. I hated Costello in the beginning for being part of the system that trained Ariana to be a little. Yet when Costello discovers Ariana is not under the influence, he offers to protect her. But without the money to buy her himself, he’s not sure what he can do. Add in some plot twists with mafia power play and maybe a solution presents itself. But when all is said and done, will Ariana desire to stay with Costello? You have to read to find out and will not put the book down until you turn the last page!
If you want dark, this is a good book to dive into. The Romero crime canopy steals women and gives them a drug called Lullaby that regreses them to 6 year-olds. Costello is tasked with training Ariana for adoption. At first, this story was confusing to me and I couldn’t get a grasp as to what exactly was going on, but the more I read, the more it made sense. The minds of Alta Hensley and Measha Stone are really twisted, and I really hope this turns into a sequel, and I really hope that Shelby is next.
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is an unusual story. It has some triggers. the story has sex trafficking abuse abduction and extreme underground sex training.
