Kitty Thomas is one of the few authors that can write a story like this that you love, over and over again.
That can bring an innocent girl into a situation like this, and make her love it in the end.
Without it being anywhere near Stockholm Syndrome.
And write it in a way that makes you believe it’s possible.
Making you experience her feelings by …
I’m really disappointed with how low the average rating is for this book, because to my mind it takes the “captive romance” genre and twists it into something uniquely and refreshingly different.
Kitty Thomas writes complex characters in difficult situations and refuses to follow the expected conventions and ‘rules’. Perhaps that is why so many …
Another Kitty Thomas book for me, and another 5-star review. I LOVED Mafia Captive. It was not quite what I expected it to be. For whatever reason, I thought it would be a bigger emphasis on the “mafia” side of things, but that really wasn’t the case. Although the mafia life certainly played a part, the real interest for me was the two main …
I am a big fan of Kitty’s dark journeys through erotic landscapes. She has a masterful touch with crafting deep worlds and characters, and Mafia Captive is another great example of this skill. The world she weaves around Leo and Faith is realistic and all encompassing, drawing you into their drama and holding you there. I love the psychological …
I admit, I am used to dark to VERY dark &/or morally challenging stories from Ms Thomas. And while this story certainly does have dark portions. elements & scenes, IMO this is first & foremost a stellar character study of two people brought together by a random & frightening circumstance: Faith (h) & Leo (anti-H). As a direct result of being in …
Leo is a self-centered, egotistical character who is incapable of change and by the end of this story, he was still the same guy, putting his needs above all others. The worst part is, Leo never learned to appreciate the incredible woman he had and I could never respect a man like him, much less feel anything for this character. Thus, I’m sad to …
Oh boy. Kitty is a master of her craft.
The unbearable amount of angst in this story made me want to curse and cry. Faith and Leo were so back and forth. The line between Faith just being collateral damage and meaning something more was so blurred.. It was a twisted game of push and pull and I loved every second.

Another fantastic book by Kitty Thomas!! Though this wasn’t as dark as I was expecting initially but didn’t make it any less enjoyable. I am really enjoying this authors different ranges of artistic abilities. This story was psychological and emotional and beautiful.
I’ve always had a thing for mafia captive/dark romances and this one certainly didn’t disappoint! I’m fact I loved how this one was a bit different, the heroine wasn’t a bit kinky at first and had to be molded into it instead of just automatically being perfect. Leo was a bit naive and a jerk himself at times but these two are perfect for each …
