As a starry-eyed child, I wanted to believe my shining prince would ride up on a white horse, present a diamond ring, and carry me away to his castle. His love would be endless and our lives would be the happily ever after all girls dreamed about. I never knew the fairytale was nothing more than a lie.I was a good girl.Until one night, one tiny trip, one little mistake, one moment of … one moment of indiscretion.
When I fell down the rabbit hole, I stumbled into the absolute fantasy, succumbing to their whims and rituals. As their very naughty girl, I embraced the nightmare and refused to ever leave.
The Darkland is mine.
And those monsters will kneel before their one true Queen.
Madness is a dark romance/reverse harem story.
An admitted word fiend, KAILEE REESE SAMUELS loves pushing her readers’ boundaries with original, addictive storylines and unexpected twists to keep you turning the page. Her genre-busting, lyrical writing style is punctuated with elements of dark romance, romantic suspense, psychological thriller, mafia, MC, BDSM, and realism.
As the author of JULIET, 22, SHE/HE, UNSPOKEN, POPPY, and TAT BOOKS (Salt Kissed Love, Famous Last Words, and the upcoming Every Minute I Love You), she believes first and foremost her books should be entertaining and serve as the perfect escape with a delicious beverage, a box of chocolate, and plenty of tissues.

Omg, I WASN’T READY!!!! Absolutely freaking fantastic. Kailee, this was so amazing. So twisted and terrifying and dark and everything I had hoped it would be. From start to finish, the character build up was so perfect. I could feel every emotion as if I was present. I am so I was able to experience this and was along for the ride. Such a fantastic read. Once again, Kailee you have captivated me and made me fall more in love with your words!!!!
This was probably one of the craziest books I’ve ever read… You better prepare yourself because you are in for a wild ride. I can’t even fathom where in earth she came up with this story but I don’t put anything past this author at all. She will take you for a wild ride that’s for sure.
An exotic, confounding trip into the heart of madness which sparkles and glistens with the gemstone colours of a fractured mind. A Daliesque exploration of an alternative reality in which reality can be explored at arm’s length, a version of Alice which is populated by the grotesque and the beautiful.
Written with a sense of both fun and a kind of urgency, Madness is a wild, convoluted ride with links to beloved characters and which provides a kaleidoscope of words to delight the imagination. Bravo!
What the actual F did I just read!?!?!
I honestly believe that Kailee Reese Samuels is either a connoisseur of hallucinogens or bat shit crazy! Because even a twisted mind would have had trouble conjuring up the chaos she has. Ellison would terrify even the most staunch Alices of this world or any for that matter!
I almost feel like I have yet to leave the rabbit hole. I’m bordering on disbelief and sheer amazement at the tangled web Samuel’s weaves. I’m also ridiculously jealous of Ellison’s magic mystery tour…well, some of it. I would love to be Merry. (Smirks wickedly)
I would love to be filled with merry, truly certain all would be bright eyed and bushy tailed after that experience. However, I can honestly say the decent into Madness is not one to be taken lightly. You never know who will come out and play.

Ellison has suffered a tramatic past with blood on her hands. When she falls down the rabbit hole her journey becomes darker and more twisted. Ellison seeks to regain her throne as the Queen of Darkland with the help of the Merrymen and the Mistress. She’s surprised when she comes face to face with the evil queen. Imaginary vs reality. Things are not always as they seem.
I could feel the characters emotions as if I was there. KRS poured her heart into the emotions and experiences of Ellison.
Loved the darkness. The blood. The murder.
And Twig.

“Do what makes you happy.”
OH LA LA!!! Where I am concerned, it’s not a case of “Poof. Gone “, but rather “Boom. Mind blown.”
Madness is just that. Pure Madness, genius insanity, beautiful craziness. An onitlric experience for the senses. Every element in this story screams pure perfection.
Part of the Sinister Fairytale collection, this trip into the Darklands is definitely sinister, and cleverly explores the fairytale genre.
The vivid imagery of this retelling of Alice In Wonderland takes us deep into Ellison’s broken psyche. The author brilliantly captured the Alice atmosphere through a psychological journey of growth. Lys meets the strangest creatures and the most incredible characters. The scenes blur into each other, bounce, fade, swirl. Twisted dreams morph into vicious nightmares, themselves turning into panty-melting fantasies.
“Down. Down. Down I go.”
The incessant movement creates a deliciously dizzying sensation.
I laughed, I screamed, I wondered, I fanned myself thanks to a storytelling that grew to a crescendo of emotions.
Read, thoroughly savor each word, you’ll see the precision of Mrs Samuels’ universe.
You don’t have to be familiar with the author’s previous work but if you are, I promise the ride will take another dimension. An any case, it is one tale that will make you long for more.
I am “Sovery” elated…Happy reading!
I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!
“I was the butterfly. And my wings were never perfect. They frayed with a jagged edge dusted with bitterness to… save me.”
This book is Alice in Wonderland on a trip. And that’s dying something if you’ve seen the movies. It is absolute madness. So crazy good and with such enjoyable characters that you’re hooked from the first page.
“Eventually, the fallacy spoke becomes the truth.”
There are so many things in this book to talk about, but I’m not going to give it away for everyone else. Just take in mind, not everything is as it seems and everyone has an ulterior motive. If you like things a bit dark and depraved, this is definitely the book for you.
I don’t really know what to say about the book. It was a strange read for me, about Alice falling down the hole, only it was Lyssa. In a dream state everything was weird around her. Madness is the correct title for this book, because I wasn’t sure what I was reading one moment and then after awhile I understood it. It was like WTH am I reading? The characters were funny, it was a fantasy. Her mind was not in the right space but that made it more confusing while reading. But as I got to the end it made more sense, and I understood it better. It is a strange read for me, but I am sure others will etnjoy this story.
Ellison from a small age had trouble with noise and people her only friend was her big sister untill she was 18 and she fell in to the rabbit hole and to get out she had to face her own darkness and find the light that was inside her that she thought she didn’t have and the people she met on the way helped her love her selt and defeat her deamins and falling in love with one of her helpers also

Madness by Kailee Reese Samuels is part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection. This is the Dark spin off of the retelling of Alice In Wonderland. This whole series is about fairy tail stories that are turned Dark and this one is really that. Our young girl has been treated awful and of course when she is older acts on that darkness that she has been in. Of course there is the rabbit hole that she enters into later that opens her up to another level of darkness.
If you like a dark read with some hotness in it this quick read is for you.
This was such a messed up story, but in a really good way! Ellison is crazy. She killed her family and is now following a hot rabbit-man down a hole. She meets the sexy Merrymen and the Mistress and must save the kingdom from the evil Queen. She has some sexy and sometimes painful adventures in her quest to not only save the kingdom, but herself.
This was wonderfully written with very interesting characters and great world building.

Madness is one crazy mind ride for the reader. You get the story of a little girl who lives through terrible things happening to her. You follow her on her journey down the rabbit hole only to discover a very different world of pain. Learn how her past wasn’t just hers and not all of what she tells you. Love the group who helps her and brings her home. This book will leave you with your emotions exposed. If you think you can handle the rabbit hole….jump in!
As an up and coming Psychologist, this is pure madness. Maybe I am just a little madder after reading this. Insane, crazy, murderous, what can we say? Kailee is pure madness. We love what comes out of those fingers every time a new book arrives and this one is one for the books. Worth a read. Do you like Dark reads I doubt you can get darker? PURE FUCKING MADNESS!!!
Just finished this mind twisting book.
Read it in one sitting.
Because there is no way of putting it down until I reached the end.
I went down the rabbit hole right along with Ellison.
Not sure if I’ve left that world yet.
Ms. Samuels created a dark twisted land where you are not sure if you want to leave or stay.
It’s sensual but scary.
It’s dark but with rays of light.
It’s your worst nightmare or your wildest fantasy.
Wow and that writing was spectacular!
It’s poetic.
It’s imaginative.
It’s worn porn.
It’s outstanding!
I don’t know how to explain the plot without giving away spoils. So I won’t.
But it is gripping and so very captivating!
I’m still in omg what did I read mode.
Brilliantly done Ms. Samuels
***5 ‘Use Caution When Approaching’ Stars***
Madness is definitely the name of the game here because even though I devoured this book and fully comprehended all that it threw at me, I’m still in total ‘WTF did I just read’ mode where I’m trying to get the wonky going on in my head to chill the fuck out so I can attempt to do a review that is just this side of verbal vomit and In all honesty I probably shouldn’t be typing away, but I am, so here goes nothing….
As with any Alice re-telling, one expects crazy, and I’ve read my fair share of them lately but this one goes beyond anything I’ve read to date. It’s dark, it’s gritty and it’s disturbing, but it has its ‘moments’. Those strangely sweet moments that have your heart melting even with all the chaos going. And it has those smexy ones that just kind of happen. And this mix absolutely captivated me. I couldn’t stop reading. I was so caught up in my need to make sense of what “Alice”’s madness was, why it was happening and see her find her way through it because she was a lot stronger than she gave herself credit for.
I know that this review is all kinds of verbal vomit vagueness, but it has to be because to do anymore would ruin the ride and I’d be babbling even more. So for your sake and mine, this is a short and sweet one. As for the author. This is my first time reading here and I thoroughly enjoy myself. She was able to give me the crazy that is “Alice” (actually more than) and have it all make sense in the end, which, when it comes to this world, is all you can ask for.

The beginning of this book started off really heavy well at least I thought it did until you know I actually finished the book and I was like ah the whole book is that heavy and crazy and all over the place and it honestly just takes you everywhere.
The only thing I do know from this story is literally everyone likes having sex, and it’s written really well in the book. I liked how all the scenes between the characters were different and they each had their own thing. I also liked that the author did in fact put a warning at the beginning of this book about it.
I really liked the nonsensical and it was written pretty well and I really enjoyed the story. I am curious to see what the next story in this collection brings.

The title of this book says it all!!! It’s pure Madness!!!! I loved loved loved this book so twisted and dark and again Kailee doesn’t disappoint. I found at times thinking what the hell is going on but then I love stories like this that keep me guessing what’s gonna happen next. Twisted story of Alice in Wonderland only this isn’t for kids!!!!!! Lots of blood, sex, gore, some light BDSM and of course a nice little surprise at the end. Don’t wanna say too much of the story as you need to read this to believe it!!!! Kailee will never stop being one of my favourite authors and I’m always looking forward to what is coming next!!!!
This is a retelling of Alice in Wonderland with a naughty, dark and thrilling twist that I’ve come to know and love from KRS. Madness is absolutely mind blowing and kept me enthralled not allowing me to put it down until I finished reading.
If you love crazy, out of the box and the unexpected this is definitely the book for you!
Madness is part of the multi author Sinister Fairytales Collection. This is my favorite book I have read by this author. It’s also my favorite retelling of Alice of wonderland I’ve seen. Its definitely dark and twisted, but only in the best ways.
Madness infects those in love.
Let me start off by saying, thus far I have loved this multi-author Sinister Fairy Tale Series so much! I was really, really excited to read Madness because Alice In Wonderland is one of my favorite books/movies. Normally, I would not even review a book that I rated this low, I absolutely hate giving anyone’s book baby a “bad” rating. BUT because it’s part of the series, I couldn’t NOT review it. So, this is going to be a very short review.
Point blank, this one was just not my cup of tea…
I should have been able to read this book within a few hours, at the most a day. It took me three days. I picked it up and put it down several times. I almost didn’t finish and if it had NOT been a part of this series, I would NOT have continued reading.
I’m not going to get into details, and I’m going to try to be as nice as possible, I refuse to put down someone else’s work just because it wasn’t for me. BUT I also want to make sure I am writing MY honest review.
First off, it’s read like someone was on a crazy, acid trip and decided to write a book about what was going on in their drug hazed mind. Seriously, it is just ALL over the place. I know that Alice in Wonderland was a little… weird, but I just could not understand what in the heck was going on with this one from one minute to the next. It was like I would be in the middle of a sentence and then that sentence would just out of nowhere start talking about something totally different and never really finishing what the beginning of the sentence was about ?? I know that doesn’t make sense, but this book made no sense to me either, so that’s the only way I know how to explain it. Everything is just totally confusing and totally random.
In the tale of The Darkland She won it from the shrew With his big bang in her hand She made it go pew pew But this fucking love story wasn’t over Ain’t even close to through Girl! Rise the maiden from the mud Douse in princess glitter With his tragic midlife crisis He gained her surrender Forever to claim and collar Being her defender.
HUH!?!?! This was part of “The Pitch” which I assume is meant to be like a prologue of sorts or something? I have no idea, the “quote” is actually longer than this but this is just the end of it…
Secondly, the sex scenes… Madness if FILLED with a whole lot of sex you guys and usually I’m ALLL for it… but even most of those are just WEIRD!
I go wild beneath his control, soaking around his shaft, and slightly rocking against his pillar trapped within my sanctuary.
Umm… hmm…
Madness drove me absolutely mad… and it was NOT in a good way. There was no real “story” behind it all. I mean it was… but it REALLY wasn’t. Even the ending where I somewhat “thought” that things would come together and actually make sense of the whole mess, didn’t. I was even more confused!!!
I am not familiar with any of Kailee Reese Samuels‘s work so I’m not going to hold this one against her and will definitely check out something else that she’s released, but this one was a complete dud for me.
F.Y.I – I absolutely hate that I had to write this review and I have waited as long as possible to post my review as to hopefully not interfere with the author’s ratings.
Up next is Siren by Hazel Grace and although Grace is another new to me author but from the teasers I have seen, I have high hopes that Siren will get this series back on track for me!
ℂ ’ ℝ
– Again, I normally would not even leave a review for a book that I rated this low (I usually won’t review anything less than three stars) and the ONLY reason I’m reviewing Madness is because it’s part of the Sinister Fairy Tale Series. This one was just way too weird and way too confusing for me to even attempt to enjoy. Not my cup of tea… Looking forward to Siren though!
– There is a whole lot of steamy scenes in Madness, I’d almost say to many sexy scenes actually and even those were just confusing and weird.
ℂ – No cliffhanger, although I STILL have no freakin clue what happened or what ACTUALLY went on, so who knows, there could have been and I just didn’t get it.
– There are difficult subjects that could be considered triggers.
