The story was unbelievably hot. The story of two broken souls who didn’t believe in love and the happily ever after. Maddox sneaks up n your emotion and suddenly he is you book boyfriend and your his cheer leader. I sexy sinful sooty og love and second chances.
Bittersweet to finish the last book in this series for the BAM boys. I really enjoyed Maddox’s journey to his HEA with Dee.This book can stand completely on its own, but you will get a much richer experience by reading Bentley and Aiden first. This book is primarily told in Maddox’s POV and it was a pleasure getting to know our Silver Fox. Maddox and Dee each have their relationship fears as a result of their pasts ( Maddox’s past as revealed in the prologue was truly heartbreaking). Giving in to their mutual attraction, Maddox and Dee begin a physical relationship. Vowing to each other that there will be no feelings involved. But of course…….emotions begin to work their way into things. Maddox’s past comes back to haunt him in unexpected ways and it’s here that the action kicks into gear.
I enjoyed this book very much. These guys are family despite not sharing a bloodline. Their women complete them and it’s a beautiful thing. The epilogue left me smiling. Oh! And a special surprise appearance by a character in a previous series! I was not expecting that!
Looks like we may have a spin-off to look forward to and I will be sure to pick that one up as well.

“I don’t date,” she insisted, stubborn as a child being told something they didn’t want to hear. I scrubbed my face. “I hate to break it to you, my lovely. We’ve been dating the past few months.” She sat up, clutching a pillow in front of her like a talisman. “We have not!” I sat up as well, grabbing her shoulders. “Listen to me. We’ve been having dinner, meeting with our friends, talking on the phone, texting. Having sex.” I dropped my voice. “Amazing, crazy sex. Neither of us is seeing anyone else… Whether you like it or not, we’re in an exclusive relationship.” She gaped at me, making me laugh.
“If I have to beat you for this, Mad Dog, I will—but I’ll try to be gentle.” “Whatever,” I snorted. “I can take you, big man.” “You think so? I could snap you like a twig.” “I’ll throw a couple of lemon Danish at you and run. You’ll be so busy trying to catch them, I’ll be fine.”
… he was such a pretentious asshole. He makes Bentley look like a laid-back hippie. The pole he has shoved up his backside must tickle his throat.
My Review:
This series has become one of my favorites to date – I’m intrigued by this endearing and bossy group of successful entrepreneurs who had met and became best friends during their college years. Each had suffered a traumatic past with no desire for a serious relationship, until one-by-one, the mighty fell, and I so enjoyed watching them tumble. The three friends, having each miraculously paired off, were assisting Bentley and Emmy in wedding preparations, with cleverly amusing results. The character of Maddox was happily settling into his first satisfying relationship when an unpleasant part of his past places everything he had worked for at risk and proved to be a sticky thorn to dislodge. Written from my favorite dual POV, the storylines were entertaining, amusing, and quite erotic. Maddox was a salacious and sensual read with breath-stealing scenes that left me gasping and seeking cool hydration. Clutch the pearls; this lascivious couple was scorching the sheets with reams of bawdy talk. I relished the humor, ease, and supportive nature of this colorful and vibrant collection of curiously alluring personalities, and eagerly anticipate equally entertaining tales of their expanding circle of friends and employees.
In Maddox we meet the third member of BAM. Maddox lives for control, but with Dee he learns to love. As with all of Melanie’s books, she captures you attention with strong characters who’s stories you can’t help but love to read. I loved reading Maddox and Dee’s story, and I am looking forward to her next book.
waiting for the fourth installment “Reid” Can’t wait.
These will be on my favorites. Looking forward to reading them all again.
Melanie Moreland is a contemporary romance writer and has written Maddox Vested Interest # 3 with Maddox’s and Deirdre’s Story. Although I found the characters to be well written and don’t get me wrong I love a great sex scene I feel that there was way too much like it was in every other chapter wasSex sex sex. And not enough plot to the story just a little here and there. But Melanie does write her characters very well I did enjoy that very much so.
Maddox Riley’s child hood was very brutal, having to constantly move when his abusive father told him to, and with having to leave what little he had, even to hide his most precious items from him because if he found them he would either destroy them or sell them and laugh. Fast forward to Maddox today, he has to be very orderly in every detail of his life including love but what is love to Maddox Riley really?
“Love equals power, the power to destroy. The ability to hurt and cause pain. That’s what love means to me. It destroys trust and leaves you weak.”- Maddox
Deirdre “Dee” Wilson has a thing about not doing love or relationships, she just wants one thing and that’s just to have a little time to blow off some sexual frustrations when needed. But she has two sides to her one that she only shows to those around her the tough as nails and takes no crap from any one and the one no one sees the girly girl with the painted toe nails and the frilly pillows on her bed, and sexy under clothing but only really Maddox sees thou.
“At times, I found myself wondering how it would feel to love Maddox. To have his love in return.” – Dee
Maddox and Dee have been having relations for a while now but it’s becoming too mundane for him and he is wanting to have an actual relationship with Dee but knowing how she feels about it, it may take some time into convincing her otherwise but he knows that she likes to be controlled at least in the bedroom. Dee knows she has feelings for Maddox but refuses to act because all she has ever learned from love is that it sucks and hurts so what’s a girl to do?
Maddox has a not so blast from the past come back to haunt him and almost ruin everything he has busted his ass for. And is in the process of running what he is working on with Dee can he survive what this Ghost is doing or should he run from it all and leave it all behind?
Maddox and Dee are both influenced by their pasts, and convinced they wont/don’t want to fall in love. But Maddox does, so how will he convince Dee? And how will his past affect his future?
I loved Maddox’s strong loyalty to his friends, his willingness to slowly change Dee’s mind and his quiet persistence. Dee has a wonderful caring personality, she just needs to see that it’s ok to love. This was a book about overcoming the past.
And goodness, what an epilogue!
Heat, humor, heartache and suspense all add up to another great read
Book 3 in the Vested Interest series, while this can easily be read as a standalone, for maximum enjoyment I’d recommend reading the series in order as well as reading The Contract due to the crossover by one of the main characters from that book. While I’ve enjoyed this series from the start and was looking forward to this book, The Contract was the first book I read by this author, and Richard has had a special place in my heart ever since so I was excited to learn he was going to make a guest appearance here. He actually had a larger role than I expected and it was really nice to touch base with him again.
I enjoyed both Dee and Maddox, who have a lot in common in addition to off the charts chemistry: they both have backgrounds that have left them strongly adverse to love and marriage. Dee especially is so adamant about avoiding love that even calling what she has with Maddox a relationship makes her uncomfortable. Watching the two of them fall for each other in spite of themselves was half the fun here.
There are so many great characters and the relationship Maddox has with Bentley and Aiden adds so much to the book. They’re more brothers than business partners and I loved the support, camaraderie and banter they had together. There’s also a love-to-hate character that adds to the suspense of the book, but since I don’t want to give away any spoilers, you’ll just have to read for yourself to find out who.
I have to admit I was a little slower getting into this book than the first two. I think it was partly because I don’t relate as much to Dee and partly because Dee and Maddox start off the book with a relationship of sorts already established. I read a LOT of books, and even though I’ve read both of the previous two books, I was having trouble pulling up some of the details–I would have been better off doing a re-read before starting this one. Once I was in though, I was all in, and I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what was going to happen next.
Heat, humor, heartache and suspense all add up to another great addition to the series. Reid has me highly intrigued and I can’t wait to get his book. 4.5 stars

I loved Maddox and Dee, . As always these great group of brothers found their soulmate and I’ve been intrigued with these two since Book 1.
They had an arrangement that included no sleeping over or falling in love but clearly that was broken. This had all the feels and you get to see into Maddox childhood which was heartbreaking. The things he suffered tugged at my heart. Dee was set in her ways but was always the protective and caregiving one. She avoided love but Maddox happened. There was minor mishaps but it brought them closer together.
I really really liked the epilogue. These guys were all aloha and sexy even after time passed. I loved the growth that they showed in the epilogue and where each was in their life. I can’t wait to read Reid story.
Ms. Moreland has hit it out of the park again with Maddox, but did anyone expect any less? Maddox is what you expect of a Moreland Hero. I have loved getting to know this whole group in this series and not just the men of BAM but the women as well. I love when a couple is so evenly matched. Maddox and Dee are both strong willed and a bit damaged but it works so well in healing the other. They have some ups and downs but it is so worth going through. I loved getting to catch up with the rest of the group and their lives as well. I can’t wait for Reid’s story!
Maddox was a fitting conclusion to the BAM series! Taking the quiet one and showing us the real Maddox as a true silver fox is a marvelous journey.
Maddox is the third book in the Vested Interest series. This novel is an amazing addition to the series. I loved it from cover to cover. Just like the others novels, Maddox is a beautiful, hot, unique and a little suspenseful novel. I’m really loving the Vested Interest series! I have fallen in love with every woman and every man. It’s impossible to choose a favorite character so far.
After watching his best friends (Bentley and Aiden) find their happily ever after, it’s time for Maddox to find his. He already knows the woman he wants to have that happily ever after with and her name is Dee. They have been having a kind of friends with benefits relationship. Maddox wants more, but Dee doesn’t. It will take some time before Dee also wants more, but she’s determined to be with Maddox forever after a certain moment. She will fight for him. I adore Maddox and Dee together. They fit so well together.
I love Maddox. He’s smart, controlling, hot, reliable, loving and hardworking. His job and his friends mean everything to him. He would be lonely without them. Maddox hasn’t had much luck in love and he didn’t want a relationship for a long time, until he meets Dee. There is something about her that makes him want her more than he ever wanted someone. Maddox will be patient and caring with Dee. He will fight for her and he will love her so very much.
Dee is hardworking, honest, reliable, caring and a little closed off. Her childhood wasn’t always easy and it has made her who she’s today. She guards her heart and she’s super close to her sister. Maddox makes Dee feels things she never expected to feel and he’s perfect for her. I sometimes felt I didn’t know Dee like I knew Maddox, because the book is particularly told from Maddox’ point of view and Dee can be closed off. But I liked Dee more and more the more the book progressed. I loved watching her becoming more open towards Maddox and watching her fall in love with Maddox.
Maddox shows again the close friendship between Maddox, Bentley and Aiden. I love the friendship between the three men. They know each other so well and so long. When Maddox has some problems, his friends are there for him. Reid is becoming a friend of them. I actually love the friendships between everybody. I just adore the secondary characters! It was great to see that little more of the happily ever afters of the previous couples. Reid’s story is the next novel in the Vested Interest series. I’m so happy that Reid will get his own story. I can’t wait!
REVIEW 4+ STARS
“She fucked with my control. I fucked her to get it back.”
Yep, yep, YEP. I really really enjoyed this book the most out of the entire Vested Interest series!! I know I already told you I loved Bentley and then I told you I loved Aiden, but I have to say, Melanie brought something out in Maddox that I desperately needed to see to round out the BAM boys!! While Bentley was a really great start to this series, with Aiden bringing up the middle with an intensity that I was excited to witness, Maddox rounded out the group with his confidence and his swag, but a heart that betrayed him for the better. It was truly a great story to enjoy!
I will say that being able to visit with Bent and Emmy and Aiden and Cami – adding the emotions and the fears, this one was my favorite of the trio. I know! I know! I keep changing that when she adds a new story to the mix, but Maddox and Dee with their walls and personal issues, this one just made me smile a lot. These books aren’t heavy. They aren’t super overly dramatic. They are just a great story with some emotional moments mixed with a little bit of drama.
“Satin, lace, silk, and sin.”
Maddox was a dirty talking (sooo delicious was his mouth!!), sexy man (silver fox!!) with some walls (poor guy) that were solidly in place. He liked control and he knew how to wield that control powerfully and respectfully; but he was quite HOT doing so…drool-worthy even. But, the same could be said for Dee. She liked her dirty talking man, with her sexy body that spoke to (screamed at!!) Maddox’s inner control freak, and her own walls to scale (poor girl). These two, no matter how much they fought it, they worked so well together. They were the literal definition of ‘made for each other’. I loved how these two tiptoed around their feelings for each other in the most delicate of ways. Blunt? Scared. Curious? Adamant. They both had something worth hiding from and fighting for, and it was really neat how they danced around those truths before accepting the inevitable. But the coming together (that was punny) was explosive. These two together were lip-biting sexy, and their intimacy poured off the pages.
With some drama that was, well….drama, it wasn’t the focus of the story and I’m thankful for that. I enjoyed the fact that Moreland was able to share these big, burly men in all their glory that were brought to their knees by the women they loved, but they never lost their masculinity. In a world full of power and control, she added in beauty in romance with ease. It just worked for all of these guys and sigh, Maddox was it. He was sooo delicious. Yep, yummy.
Seeing all of these guys out of their element by the time this one was said and done made for a smile-worthy ending, and what a treat! The smiles, the laughs – hell, the grins were cheesy and the laughs were giggles, but I *really* enjoyed the ending to their trilogy. This was just a fitting end and to see it all button up as nicely as it did, it gave me the HEA I so desperately love.
But wait, there’s more….the rebel known as Reid is coming this fall, and once again I’m all excited for more!!

Maddox is a steal my heart good!
Just when you think there are no books out there. You find a gem and it drives you to pull an all-nighter. Even with the lack of sleep, I was deliriously in love with Maddox. I wanted to dive into the pages and get lost as Dee!!
So, I’m just left here having to swoon and dive back so I can get my Maddax fix!
Maddox and Dee/Deidre are now my favorite couple in this series. They both fight so hard to maintain their personal boundaries and space. When Maddox’s two best friends became married and engaged to Dee’s sister and best friend, forced proximity and a secret friends with benefit relationship seemed like the perfect plan. Maddox is deliciously alpha. I love that he calls her Deidre in private and she secretly loves it. Dee knows what she wants and tells it like it is. She dresses somewhat sedately but hides the fact that she wears sexy and beautiful lingerie. Maddox and Dee are avoiding love at all cost but it finds them anyway. I couldn’t put this book down and I highly recommend this series. I can’t wait for book 4: Reid.
Ahhhh Maddox the Silver Fox of the group… I have been waiting patiently for his and Dee’s story, this was always going to be an interesting one! Throughout the series these two have gotten together but seemingly always only as friends… their back stories are tragic as they are relatable and their reasons for not ‘doing relationships or love’ are totally understandable. But their chemistry is undeniable and soon the pair find themselves drawn into a relationship of sorts, both fighting their feelings to themselves and to their friends and family… but when a problem ex from the past resurfaces it puts not only their happiness but their lives in danger. This was a fast paced story that was filled with passion, love, revenge and loyalty… a book that shows how true friendships can form bonds stronger than family!
Another amazing read from Melanie Moreland! We learn more about the backstory of the elusive billionaire Maddox. His story brought tears at times, but Melanie does such a wonderful job developing her characters that I trust her to bring me through the other side without breaking my heart too badly. Highly recommended!
I LOVE THIS SERIES!! WOW!! Melanie Moreland and the Vested Interest Series are some of my new favorite things! Maddox and Dee have off the charts chemistry and it’s perfect! I could not put this one down! FIVE STARS!
To say that the BAM men have a place in my heart just wouldn’t be saying enough!
First Bentley, then Ah-mazing Aiden, and now Maddox! I mean, everyone knows that I love a dirty talker, but this man….OH EM GEE! Melanie, you sucked me in with Bentley, but you have received a Fan for a Lifetime with Maddox! Well done!
4.5 Silver Fox Stars!
What a fun, thrilling and sexy addition to the Vested Interest series! I was so excited to finally have Maddox and Dee’s story, and it definitely did not disappoint! Maddox and Dee are so perfect together. He needs control in his life and Dee needs to give up being in control. Maddox is so sweet, sexy and a deliciously dirty talker. I really love him and his colorful socks! Dee is so strong yet vulnerable as she struggles with being left behind. They go into this arrangement believing they are incapable of love. They believe they have the perfect, no strings relationship. But with their best friends and family head over heels in love, can it be possible for them as well? It was so much fun catching up with all the BAM men and the women who love them. They are all essential in each other’s lives. Their unconditional love and support of each other is so beautiful. When Maddox’s past threatens his new life, they prove they are a strong family unit. That adorkable nerd, Reid, played a big part in this story, I would so love to know more about him! There is a guest appearance from Richard VanRyan from The Contract, which is a real treat! This is a funny, emotional, exciting, and sexy story that stole my heart. I need more of BAM!
