After witnessing firsthand just how dirty and underhanded a life in politics can be, Maddie Vanderhorne steps off the campaign trail to follow his passion. Starting his own event planning business is the best decision Maddie’s ever made, quickly winning over his clients with his vibrant and outgoing personality. That is, until he finds himself working alongside one very serious and seemingly … impenetrable man.
Still haunted by the events of his past, Graham Ward has closed himself off from nearly everyone around him. He’s learned the hard way that letting people get too close only ends in heartache and disaster. Burying himself in his work and keeping everyone at a distance seems like the best solution. When his father comes to him with plans to announce his retirement, Graham knows that in order to take over his father’s role as head of the company, he must find a way to open himself up again.
When Graham steps up to host his father’s retirement party, the last thing he expects is the party planner to leave him feeling annoyed and perplexed. He’s never met anyone as vivacious and full of life as Maddie. He’s not quite sure how to respond to the boundless energy this man possesses – or the feelings Maddie seems to be resurrecting within him. Forced to work closely on this event, Maddie is determined to pull Graham out of his shell. But will opening himself up help Graham rediscover the man he once was; or will it leave him vulnerable to having his heart broken once again?
**This book is part of the Hamilton’s Heroes world but can be read as a standalone novel.

Annabella Michaels did it again: she made me laugh, sob, and then she left me with a stupid smile on my face !!!
Maddie & Graham’ story is so sweet …
It melted my heart
I love that Maddie got a happily ever after! After meeting Graham and hearing his story of his past relationship, it was definitely only Maddie who could bring him back to life and start living again. This story was sweet, fun and emotional. You also got to peak in on Christopher and Greg which was fun.
Graham is the son of the CEO of Ward’s Toys.
He has to organize a party where his father will give over the company to him and retire. Graham hates parties and is a grumpy man on his own, he withdrew from life outside his job, around his heart is high walled, he’s hurt and feels damaged.
Until Maddie steps, frisky, into his life. Maddie has a positive energetic vibe, nothing like Graham. Maddie is an event planner. Graham has no intention to join the planning. But dear Maddie is persuasive, Graham has no choice but go with Maddie’s flow.
Together they will organize the big party.
Graham is baffled by Maddie’s open, positive, energetic personality, quite the opposite of himself.
When they start planning Graham gets a taste of life outside his office. He’s even a bit off balanced being close to Maddie.
It took Maddie one look at Graham to understand that behind the grumpy and withdrawn attitude, hides a beautiful soul. His goal is to tear down Graham’s walls and he just knows how.
Oh boy, I loved this sparkling story, sparkling and well balanced with a lot of feelings.
Endearing passages and heartbreaking moments where my heart stuttered, and my eyes blurred. There is quite a story to tell!
It had also a few engaging side stories where friends and family are involved.
A wonderfully written story with an amazingly positive vibe, with two warm-hearted funny and sexy guys who were crazy in love with each other and didn’t scruples to show. Picture perfect!
Graham Ward has kept himself shut off and locked away from everything and everyone for the past five years, except for work. He starts to realize that he’s tired of being alone, tired of feeling empty, and just plain tired. But he’s been like this for so long, he doesn’t know if he can change or begin to know where to start. Maddie Vanderhorne is hired to plan Graham’s father’s retirement party. Graham is paired up with Maddie, at the insistence of his mother and father, as a stipulation before taking over as President and CEO for Ward’s Toys. There’s a reason why Annabella Michaels is one of my favorite one-click authors, and this book is one of those reasons. I love complicated characters and Graham is just that. He has a troubled past. He’s grumpy and isn’t well-liked. It’s difficult not to fall in love with Maddie. He is fabulous, and these two together are fantastic. We don’t get any hints to Graham’s troubled past until closer to the end of the book, which was a huge plus for me. The ending was absolutely perfect and that’s all I will say because I don’t want to give anything away, but I found it refreshing and delightful. This book was fantastic and I do highly recommend giving it a try.
I’m in tears, happy ones at least. I had my big ugly cry though, so sad. I loved Maddie right away, he was funny, sweet & speaks what he wants. Graham(loved him too), he may be cranky but there’s a reason there & my heart hurt for him when it finally came out why. I wanted to hug him so bad. I was so happy Maddie came into his life & make him happy & love again. It was a great story.
