Mad About Moon
Oh my! Be still my ever-loving heart!! Jed and Josie’s story is so moving. I am so sad this book came to an end. I have nothing but love for the Whiskey family!!! All the motorcycle stars!!!
‘Mad About Moon’ is the fifth book in the epic Whiskey series, and I was given it in exchange for an honest review.
This book had everything I could possibly want in a romance book, it was; exciting, thrilling, passionate, emotional and captivating. The chemistry between Jed and Josie is off the charts, and their love for one another is special and unique, so much so that when they see each other for the first time after years, it is love at first sight all over again.
Josie is brave, strong and has been through so much in her life. She has overcome abusive parents, becoming a teenage mother and wife, as well as losing a man she adored.
So when Josie finds herself in a shelter for women, with no money and her son to protect, she is afraid and lost without direction. She grasps onto a hope of being able to rekindle her relationship with her estranged siblings, and attends her sisters New Years party to attempt to mend bridges. Little does she know that behind the door is not only her family, but a man she very much tried hard to forget.
Jed Moon has a heart a big as the ocean, he is a reformed thief and a prospect for the Dark Knights MC’s. He is strong, confident and handsome. He has been searching for something he has felt his life has been lacking, uncertain of what it may be until he becomes reacquainted with Josie.
He soon learns he’s been missing the connection he’s built with her one evening many years ago. Josie being the only woman he was ever truly able to open up to. She is his calm and makes him want to settle and be a good man, when he is her moon guiding her through the darkest times of her life.
Their relationship is heart melting and I cried so many times throughout this book at all the sweet little moments Jed shares with not only Josie, but her son Hail. Melissa Foster certainly knows how to take her readers on a journey and this book was an emotional rollercoaster I’d want to ride again.
I adore the Whiskeys, always assuming that Bones was my favourite, but Jed Moon has certainly given him a run for his money. The characters are just as loveable as in the previous four books and I can’t wait to see where Dixie’s story goes.
This is a must read for anyone who would like to become completely immersed in a new series. It is perfect for romance lovers, particularly MC romance lovers and anyone who just appreciates a good feel good read. It is very easy to fall in love with all of the characters and this book will not disappoint.
I fell in love with the Whiskeys (and this author’s writing) with Tru Blue, Tru and Gemma’s story. Each subsequent story has just gotten better, and pulled me further into their world. That being said, this book pulled me in from the beginning! I can’t deny how much I love an instant connection, even if they don’t get to be together right away. This book fed that addiction, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Josie & Moon!
Josie had a really horrible upbringing. Parents that shouldn’t have been parents, and then forced to runaway at a very young age. Josie’s circumstances afterward could have been so much worse, but a good Samaritan took her in, and helped her get on her feet. A passing meeting with Jed Moon left an impression on her young self, but she moved on with her life, married and had a child. When tragic circumstances leave her alone, raising her child, she once again finds herself without a place to call home.
Jed Moon had a happy childhood, until his father’s untimely death dealt his family a blow that they just couldn’t recover from. He ended up becoming someone he didn’t like, doing things he shouldn’t, until he was taken in as a prospect by the Dark Knights MC, and the Whiskey family showed him what he was missing.
This book had everything I enjoy from this writer. The instant connection in their first meeting, and then the second chance at a HEA. Regardless of the circumstances, Jed and Josie were perfect together, even when they weren’t sure about where they were going or what they were to each other. I loved that Josie got a second chance with not only Jed, but also her family. I loved the acceptance and love that the Whiskey family shows to all in their circle. It gives me hope that there really are some amazing people left in this world! I totally recommend this book, along with the rest of the stories in this series. You won’t be disappointed!
Melissa Foster is a masterful of words! She created the Whiskeys world and each book is getting better and better.
Josie and Jed’s story has been hinted in the previous book, Wicked Whiskey Love, and it is nice to know this young couple and Josie’s little rascal Hail, a new cutie to the kid’s gang. Hail and Kennedy are so funny.
Jed is Crystal’s brother and he is trying to overcome his past when he was in trouble with the law to help his family. He is a hard worker and is a prospect in the Dark Knights MC and is moving on with his life. Josie is also trying to survive her abusive parents, loosing her husband and being now in a shelter with her son after loosing their house. These two have a past and now they have a second chance to love and to live.
With the help of the Whiskey family and friends these two overcome to much! It is a strong story with so much feelings and love. A book that you will love to read!
There is nothing better than a biker with a heart of gold, wait yes there is, one that is AMAZING with kids. Jed Moon is a prospect biker who is the brother of Crystal from book 2 in the series and Josie is Sarah and Scott’s sister from book 4 of the series. Jed and Josie had a met one night years before and clicked; Years later Josie shows up on her sisters door step and back into Jed’s life. Not wanting to lose her a second time Jed does everything he can to get Josie to trust him and let him into her life. I loved watching Jed and Josie rekindle their love.
As always with Melissa’s books you fall not only in love with the main characters but you fall more in love with the extended family. Everyone deserves the community and love that comes with the Whiskeys and the Dark Knights. Amazing read!

Review Melissa Foster never stops surprising me with her stories. They all are sexy swoony contemporary romance with lots of family love and small town goodness. But the variation in the characters are mindblowing. The subtle differences make the stories stand apart and each of them are a fantastic read on their own merit.
Mad about Moon is about Jed Moon and Jossie’s love cum friendship story. They met years back in a party but that unforgettable night is forever etched in their memory. They went on separate paths under difficult circumstances till they cross again years later. Jossie is living in a woman’s sheltee with her boy Hail after suddenly loosing her dear husband . And Moon is now a prospect in Dark Knight motorcycle club after dealing with a difficult life. Can they take a chance on the fire still burning slowly inside?
Moon is perfect. A hot as hell guy who is caring, protective and supportive to the last moment. I adore him for his inner strength and resilience. He is always helping others to see light. My heart melt in the scenes where he gradually became the little boy’s father-friend-supporter. And he is so good to Josie. Josie is an equally strong woman. Life was unkind to her but she bounced back everytime. The slow burn smouldering chemistry is Melissa Foster’s speciality. The sweetness and the intensity was almost too much to bear! I love how she made the transition from friends to lovers to family. It was realistic and passionate at the same time. Of course you will meet some memorable and awesome friends and family members.
Mad about Moon by Melissa Foster is an intense, sensual and captivating story of second chance love. It is about friends and family. It is about becoming a better and stronger person. The love is epic. The chemistry is sizzling hot. The writing is perfection. And you have another must read creation by Melissa Foster!
Received ARC for Honest Review
Josie has been running since she was a teenager. Her life has been one of survival until she met Brian. He was her savior. Not only did he make her finish school, but he waited to seduce her until she was eighteen years old. He then married her when she became pregnant with their son Hail. What would have been a wonderful love story ended tragically when he suddenly died. Now, Jose and Hail are back on the streets trying to survive at all costs.
Jeb Moon could not believe his eyes when he saw Josie on Christmas Day at the Whiskey’s holiday party. She was the girl that years ago he gave his heart to. He has measured every single woman since by how he felt with Josie. It will be impossible for him to stay away from her and not help her.
If you have been reading The Whiskey’s Series you know they are not a gang. They are together as a motorcycle gang determined to protect their town and help others. This story is one of many featuring each of the members of this club as they endeavor to overcome their demons and become better members of society. As each member falls in love, their stories evolve into a poignant journey.
This is a story of survival, growth, and redemption.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Another amazing installment in The Whiskey’s series! After reading about Sarah and her family, I couldn’t wait to read about Josie and continue that story further! Josie had such a hard go at life and when she finally thought she was getting past it, tragedy stroke again. Fate brings happiness again when it turns out the man she crushed on previously, Jed, is a prospect with the Dark Knights and hasn’t forgotten about Josie either. The attraction between the two was great and I enjoyed how Jed was able to push through Josie’s flightiness and put her in her place at times and break through her emotional obstacles. The flow of the story was great per usual and I loved that we were also able to see what the rest of the Whiskey family was up to even after their stories. I cannot wait until Dixie’s story though!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
There is so much emotion in this book! I absolutely loved it.
While I loved the second chance love story of Jed and Josie so much, I really loved the way the author conveyed the sense of family throughout the entire story and the fact that family isn’t just blood, it’s so much more than that.
Everybody needs a man like “Moon’’ in their life! From the moment Josie and Jed “Moon” stared into each other eyes, I was hooked! A remarkable page-turner about a family that is torn apart trying to mend their relationship, old friends reconnecting and meeting new ones. I love the power of the tight community where people will jump in to help anyone. For Josie it’s all about finding her true self and finally having the ability to make her dreams come true. Moon wears his heart on his sleeve and puts the ones he loves above all. He was once broken too but the Dark Knight Community helped him find himself and gave him a new start in life. Family is who you choose it to be; friendship is sometime thicker than blood.
Melissa Foster has a way to make us dream about living in her books, fall in love with her characters and make us feel emotions like no one else! Her fictional world is a sweet escape; a literature haven!
5 Whiskey stars for this one! Don’t miss this one you will love it!
Meet Jodie, Sarah’s sister, who felt that she was abandoned by her siblings. She was widowed young and left with just her and her son Hail, who’s amazingly adorable by the way! When she ends up in a shelter, and her sister see’s her there, Sarah wants nothing more than to reconnect with her sister. When Jodie shows up at her sister’s house on Christmas, she see’s someone from her past, and she can’t believe her eyes!
When Moon see’s Jodie he can’t believe his eyes, is that his Jojo? He has only been thinking about her since that night 6 years ago when he met her, they had a connection like he’s ever had with anyone else, he was able to open up to her, and now that she’s here, he will do whatever he has to to make sure she and her son are safe.
Follow their story, you will get all the feels as well as fall in love with Moon! Grab this one, this series is amazing, but can be read as a standalone!
I don’t even have words on how spellbinding Jed’s book is!!! Melissa Foster just brought the Whiskey series to a whole new level of excellence!
All I have to say is Moon!!!!!!!!! God yes!!!!
5 Star Review of Mad About Moon (The Whiskeys #5) by Melissa Foster
I have read and enjoyed all the previous books in this series. Having said that, Mad About Moon can definitely be read as a stand alone although honestly if you have the time I would read them all. I think you will find this a highly addictive series to read, I know I did. This was an emotional story that captivated me from the first to the last chapter.
This is Jed Moon and Josie Beckley’s story and as I have come to expect from a Melissa Foster story, this was extremely well written and an absolute joy to read. A second chance could give both Jed and Josie a chance for the happiness that they both deserve.
Jed Moon is a total alpha male who ticked many of the boxes for me and Josie is perfect for him. I loved her feisty spirit and her unbridled passion for life, despite all the trauma and hardships the single mum has endured in her life.
The passion and love between Jed and Josie is intense and I loved the relationship that Jed develops with Hail, Josie’s son made for some beautiful and heart warming moments.
I love this series, the characters are so well developed and Melissa Foster’s writing so descriptive that I feel as though I am apart of the Whiskey family and Peaceful Harbour.
It is a story of love, hope and friendship, of family, not always related by blood and one which I highly recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. That is actually quite a tough one to read through due to all the drama in everyone’s past but as the story gets started, you’ll never want to lay your kindle aside. Moon and Josie are just ment to be together. Sharing a small part of their past – they found each other again after a long time… I very enjoyed reading this book since it’s not only sunshine and rainbows and unicorns but has a rather real and troubled background. Great story!
I love the Whiskey family and this story was amazing! We finally get Jed Moon & Josie Buckley’s story. Jed has done a lot of growing up and has been taken under the Whiskey’s wing and is now a great brother to Crystal & friend to the Whiskey family & their kids. Josie has been living in a women’s shelter, dealing with the loss of her husband as well as being a good mom to her son. She, with the help of others has decided to reunite with her brother Scott & sister Sarah. They all have a lot to work through but it was great to see them work together. This book was so emotional but amazing!
There can never be enough books in the Whiskey series.
I am Mad about Moon…such a melt your heart, bawl your eyes out, stand up love that Moon has for JoJo and her son…what a walk they have to take to get to their HEA but Man, oh Man was it worth it. Love it!!!!
From heartache to heartwarming, these bad boy bikers will cast a spell on your heart. Angels in hiding are the perfect description for these heartbreakers. Going bad has never felt so good. Mad About Moon is a tale of love lost and found. From young love to adult heartache, Jed and Josie were a second chance years in the making. Foster welcomes the prodigal son with open arms into a family of warriors. Can a romance built on heartbreak and secrets survive a second chance at love? With each Whiskey novel, I lose more and more of my heart.
Audiobook Review: Mad About Moon (The Whiskeys, #5) by Melissa Foster, Devra Woodward (Narrator), Jacob Morgan (Narrator) –
Shattered glass becomes a beautiful vase. Foster breaks the mold when it comes to dreaming up romance. Jed and Josie held my heart in their hands. From beginning to end my emotions were hard to control. Having read Mad About Moon, I knew what to expect, but the addition of Morgan and Woodward gave the heartache a life of it’s own. Fires tend to burn deep and this one quickly became an inferno.
Neither Josie or Jed have had an easy life. Both have had a lot of people who have let them down. The two are perfect for each other. Their story is full of hope. I loved Moon. He has had a rough road but is such a caregiver. He wants to help everyone he can. Josie had a horrible childhood and ended up on her own young. But she had some good people in her life to help her out. But life kept throwing her bad luck and she ended up in a women’s shelter with her son. Her story of reconnecting with her family and building friendships was wonderful. I really enjoyed this story and all of the characters in it. Melissa Foster is great at building communities of characters that you want to be a part of. I received an advance copy in return for an honest review.
Mad about Moon is a terrific story. While this is the Fifth book in The Whiskeys series, this is the first that I have read. I’ve read previous books by Melissa Foster and thoroughly enjoyed them, and this sounded like another great story to me.
In this book, we learn the story of Jed and Josie. They’ve both come from difficult backgrounds and are striving to make a better life for themselves. Their paths crossed 5 years previously, but now they have found their paths crossing once again.
As I had suspected, Jed and Josie’s story did not disappoint. I instantly fell head over heels with each of the characters, and little Hail is absolutely adorable.
This is a great story about second chances and looking out for your friends and family. I find myself seeking out the rest of The Whiskeys series. Once again, Melissa Foster did not disappoint.
