I enjoyed reading this book, well written.
very good
This book shows you can do anything you want to do.
Love this author. Her characters are always so interesting. The romance in this story was steamy but sweet. The danger, both to the hero’s character and the heroine’s life were realistic. Best of all, the villain was exactly the one I wanted it to be!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Strong characters, well paced story of prejudice and extreme attraction that turned into a forbidden love affair. And if that’s not enough there is an element of danger involving a mysterious rapist. I hope there is a sequel involving Joe. I would certainly want the story to continue.
Linda Howard is the best!
Liked how it illustrated the racism of a small town,
While totally entertaining, this book addresses bullying, neglect (by teacher), racism, small town pettiness, and sexual assault. Thank goodness for the residents of this little town that they had a fiesty, yet naive, newcomer to point out the error of their ways.
I read everything by Linda Howard – she’s a great author!!
This is an old favorite that has brought me back to read about the MacKenzies
more than once!
I loved this book as well as the entire series. Read them all several years ago, and now will download them to my Fire. What a family!
An oldie but goodie. The best of what Romance novels were about. No one can beat Linda Howard for steaming but not very detailed sexy suspense and yearning. It is interesting and sad too that so much of the social commentary is relevant.
Linda Howard is always on my must buy list! This is an older work, but is a timeless read. Well written, has we’ll developed characters, a melt-my-heart hero, and a HEA. Who could ask for more?
I love Diana Palmer and the MacKenzie family books!
One if my favorites by Linda Howard. This is the core of the Mackenzie family, and Wolf and Mary provide a wonderful base for a strong independent family.
Loved it.
Story was OK but right out of the box, thinking about sex, turning into sex, more sex than story.
Love this book!
Confession time…I read this book originally in paperback, and wore it out. I was very happy to see it arrive in NOOK format. Thank you
I thought that it didn’t leave much to the imagination regarding sex, which I normally don’t read that type book, but the storyline was so good I just skipped over those parts.
