I was born with wealth, athletic ability, and looks that could melt the panties off a nun.I had a clear path to success. Until fate dealt me a cruel blow, leaving me empty and in need of purpose. My only focus now is to become part of The Elite—a secret society in one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. But everything comes at a price, and with The Elite, you have to earn your place.… earn your place.
Lucky for me, being sinful is in my DNA.
The only obstacle to full initiation is my task: seduce the un-seducible, the forbidden, and lure her with the sins of the flesh.
Easy for a man like me…in theory.
She started as my task, but what happens when the lines between lust and love blur, and the need for power rages war with the need for her?
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak—they’re for The Elite.
This is my life, my chance, my legacy.
I am Rhett Masters.
I am Lust.

A start to a series that reminds me of The Skulls, a movie that I loved when it came out.
So Lust is book 1 in the series The Elite Seven. Each title in this series based on the seven deadly sins and Book 1 is Rhett’s story.
This book is a quick read and somewhat fast paced. Rhett’s story is sad and heartbreaking, he’s definitely a hero who has had to deal with some harsh realities in life.
This storyline is intriguing and definitely has me interested in the Elite. As far as Rhett and Chasitys they kind of went from 0 to 180 rather quickly and I didn’t quite get as invested in them as I would have liked. Individually they both intrigued me and their banter back and forth and me excited for the prospect of these two together. But when it happened it was almost as if they went from never going to happen to their committed and I feel like I missed the development of the relationship all together.
That being said, this story does a great job of introducing and setting the tone for the rest of the series as far as the Elite seven go. I predict we will see our fair share of debauchery, scandal and drama in the books to come and I for one am excited for them.
Lust is the start to The Elite Seven series and introduces us to Rhett Masters, aka Lust. On a downward spiral after the death of his brother, there’s only one thing he cares about. And that’s being asked to join The Elite Seven. The not-so-secret society that is synonymous with power and wealth. But then he meets Chasity Griffin, the girl that is his complete opposite yet the one that is definitely a game changer for what he wants out of life.
I thought this was a really good book suspense wise, and it certainly kept me interested once I started. There were so many unknowns and so many hints of what’s to come from this society that it had me getting more and more excited with each turn of the page. The book focused mostly on Rhett and his path to becoming part of The Elite but there were also little things, like his connection to Chasity, thrown in that also added some romance to the story. Albeit, it was almost next to no focus on that, but I honestly didn’t mind since the intrigue of these Seven members had me so invested into the book.
Overall, if you’re into a suspenseful story that will leave you wide-eyed in shock then this is the book for you. It will have you dying to get more of this series and more of the characters, especially God. I know he has some deep secrets that need sharing so I can’t wait to get his story.
Sooooo, where do I begin? This is my first Ker Dukey. It is not my last. And this is the perfect set up for a series featuring the seven sins. A series featuring The Elite Seven.
Rhett Masters is going to break you. He’s going to make you want to hold him and love him, but not before he tries to ruin you.
You’re going to love this ride.
“Love is more dangerous than lust. I knew it and played into the game unwillingly, until it was too late.”
This is my life, my chance, my legacy.
I am Rhett Masters.
I am LUST
And I am completely obsessed with this series now! I cannot freaking wait for the next book!
This book had just enough suspense and just the right amount of bad boy that it had you coming back for more.
It was thrilling, raw and intoxicating! I need the next book ASAP!!
The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I felt it was to short and rushed!
“Lust is a violent desire, destructive and uncontrollable. If you let the sensation take root, you become captive to its power, until you’re waking up in the wreckage of its path.”
“Lust is a force all its own. It consumes the mind and body, and causes even the most loyal to indulge in its sinful ways.”
“People say love is powerful, and that’s true, but more often than not, it’s corrupted by lust.”
“Your head’s a storm, turbulent and destructive. You need to find the center, the calm. Let me be that for you.”
*ARC kindly given for my honest review.*
What a great start to the Elite 7 series!!!. I have only read one other book from this author that was co-written. I will definately have to check out others from her.
What to say about this. Lust can make you do things you normally wouldn’t do, but when the tides change you question yourself. This was a shorter book than I like to read but I still enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one. To see how all of these books will intertwine will be and adventure in it’s own. Rhett and Chastity seem like fire and ice but she is not what she seems.
Gah I am at a loss of words and again can’t wait for more of this series.
What an amazing start of this fantastic series!! I can’t wait to read the rest of the elite. I love how the book gives you a sneak peek of all the 7 Elite boys! This was such a great idea having different authors write on a certain character and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to read them all!!
Oh, can I say the ending of this book was so phenomenal and well written, I loved it so much!!
Im for sure counting the days for the next book!!
I definitely recommend you to read this baby!!
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
This story wasn’t what I expected – it was better! I knew going in that it would be dark and have an edge, but as I read Rhett’s story I couldn’t help but love him all the more!
This was a great entry into the world of The Elite Seven and I can’t wait to continue the series with the next six books! Each one is based on one of the deadly sins and has a different guy to share.
Rhett was chosen for lust and he felt that was the right choice because love would never be for him, but he could lust with the best of them. When he met Chastity he suddenly saw things differently. I was right there with him as I turned each page. I wanted him to heal. I wanted him to find his true self. I wanted him to know the love of his parents.
This was a first for me by this author, but I can’t wait to go catch some of her other works and see more of what she shares with her readers. Though the content was darker than some, it was also so heartfelt and engaging that I couldn’t put it down. It was an absolutely amazing story, and I am so very thankful I was able to read it.

Getting ARCs is an amazing opportunity but when you are left hanging and dying for more you have to wait!!!!!! This is going to be an amazing series that you don’t want to miss out on. The Elite Seven: Lust, Pride, Wrath, Envy, Greed, Gluttony and Sloth. Each one will be released by a different author within the next few months. AND I CAN”T WAIT FOR THEM ALL!!! You will need to read these in order to understand the complete storyline.
The series starts with Lust, by Ker Dukey and it has set the bar. Lust gives the backward and set up for those books in the series that are yet to come. We also get the back-story on Rhett’s and how he becomes Lust. I don’t want to give anything away, because it is really good.
The author ’s blurb of the story is perfect. Lust is so well written, I was hooked from the beginning to end and now, I’m dying for more!!!!
I was really excited about reading the first installment in the Elite Seven series. Ker Dukey gives a little background of what The Elite is all about and we meet the other main characters as well. I thought it was a great start to the series. Rhett (Lust) is quite the charmer. For me, his thoughts didn’t quite match his age. He felt older yet not necessarily wiser. He seems to get into everything and has a problem with self control yet when Chastity came into the picture, you saw a whole new side of him. He was more likable and I loved how their relationship developed. You could tell that he really cared about her when there wasn’t a whole lot that he cared about to begin with. This story is dark yet intriguing with plenty of drama that keeps you wanting more of these characters. The ending left a lot to be desired as to what’s to come with the next book in the series.
“People say love is powerful, and that’s true, but more often than not, it’s corrupted by lust.”
Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a huge fan of Ker Dukey. When I saw she was releasing Lust, I knew I had to read it!
Though it’s different than what Ker normally writes, Lust packs the same punch. The writing was great. The plot was super original, and the story left me excited to read the rest of the books in the series.
Lust is the introduction to the Elite Seven series, and it did not disappoint. When Rhett Masters loses his younger brother in a horrible accident, he completely becomes a shell of himself. The only hope he has is to make The Elite. Only the best of the best makes it into The Elite, and once you make it, you’re basically set for life.
When Rhett meets Chastity he’s instantly attracted to her. There’s something different about her that makes him feel… From the start Chastity can’t stand him. The more she pushes him away, the more he comes back for more.
This story is full of all the amazing elements that Ker Dukey usually possesses in her novels, just a little less dark. It was a great book and definitely made me more excited to read the rest of the books!
I am quite curious about this secret society: The Elite Seven.
Lust is the first book in the series and brings us a bit of insight about the secret society.
I enjoyed this book, but it felt like something is missing, like the book was mostly about Rhett, and I totally understand why, but at the same time the whole thing with the secret society and what happened to Rhett just felt weird…
In this first book, we get to know each new member and their initiation.
I’m sure the next books will make me understand it better!
Pride’s next and I cant wait to read it!
The ground work has been laid. The Elite Seven members of the secret society has been formed with Lust being the one and only Rhett Masters, the egotistical male who can charm the knickers off of any female. The need to become one of the Elite drives him forward, nothing will get in his way or so he thinks. With a heartbreaking experience behind him he is compelled to better himself but with the night mares haunting is sleeping moments he cannot put the past to resist.
Step out of the nightmares, silence the voices that tell you you’re not worthy of this
I didn’t know what to truly expect within this series but Ker Dukey has done wonders with Lust. I was fully invested with the storyline. I loved everything about Rhett Masters and all of his demons and especially his smart, dirty mouth.
Chasity Greffen was a little surprise package. I liked her but wasn’t as invested in her as I was with Rhett.
I’m super excited to read the rest of the Deadly Sins stories and just what each author can bring to the table.
Bestselling author Ker Dukey’s Lust kicks off The Elite Seven, a multi-authored series, and it also serves as my introduction to Dukey’s writing. When I first saw the information packet for the series, I had a feeling that the main characters involved in this secret society were going to have anti-hero leanings. We do get peeks at the six other young men who become the latest inductees into The Elite–some getting longer looks than others–but basing it on the main character in this series starter and his best friend who is more peripheral than supporting character, there are, indeed, anti-hero feels, but I’m preeetty sure there are a host of reasons why they’ve become that way.
Rhett’s story wasn’t as dark as I expected it to be, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy it. I quite liked how quick the pacing was for this book, and how there wasn’t a whole lot of time wasted on unnecessary meanderings for any of the characters. Everything that we see of Rhett here is part and parcel of the person he’s become since the incident that changed his life. Yes, he came off as somewhat of an asshat more than once, but the guy was broken, and while there was no excusing a lot of his bad behavior, I couldn’t help but empathize with him. I think that Chastity was exactly what he needed at that point in his life because he seriously needed an anchor. Thank goodness this girl had strong backbone and that she gave as good as she took. I really liked reading their story, and that ending has me ready to get my greedy hands on the next book in the Elite Seven series. Lust receives 4.5 stars.
What an intriguing idea for a group of different authors to write books that are a series! They are entwined stories and I’m excited to see what happens in the next book. A great way to read new authors too.
Fantastic stellar start to the series in my opinion. Cant wait for the rest.
This interesting project interested me mainly three authors, which you do not mention, because so Can you guess them. They covers not break off anything, but it is not about not going on here. Ker Dukey began a string of “Elite Seven Society” with his book entitled “Lust,” or desire from English. This whole series has seven volumes, each of which tells a different member of the same club and other major sin that represents.
Meet Rett Masters.
That day nothing went according to plan. My father had to pick up karate lessons with Robbie, but he could not, his mother also did not have the time required to take and younger brother fell on Rett syndrome. But when the boy came to school karate everywhere they became police cars and an ambulance.
And then Rett fell blow.
His brother was killed by a moving car.
Since then, the Masters has changed beyond recognition. He began to find solace in alcohol, and the only way that helped him sleep medications were hypnotic. Rett blamed for the death of his brother and still could not digest the fact that it is simply too late.
He lost a scholarship from the university, the accident destroyed his sports career and began to attract the attention destroying public property.
He is moving away from her family more and more, and his parents decided to divorce.
Robbie’s death was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.
After the city went rumors about the mysterious and elite club Elite Seven Society. Rett’s best friend – God told him a bit about this association, where members were like brothers. Rett decided to try to make him the club noticed and accepted in their circles. In the meantime, he met a beautiful girl who has become a beacon for him during the storm.
I am writing this review on fresh, barely after finishing the book, when the stoke emotions in me and in my head constantly grind again what just happened. Ker Dukey made me once again mush brain, and I hope that it is therefore satisfied.
While reading “Lust” I had the impression that I read “The Silver Swan” from Amo Jones and “Crew” from Tijan in one. As if Dukey mixed boiler and these two items, slipped something from their positions, which as we know are quite strong and specific.
And despite the pulp in the head, not at all because of this I do not complain. On the contrary. I want more!
“Lust” is a good introduction to the series “The Seven Elite”, which tells the stories of seven young men, belonging to respectable families, and at the same time responsible for the seven deadly sins. And although I mention sins, this series of little or no church connections. It has hell. You see … for those guys to Hell and it would be gone.
Rett Masters I liked, but not stolen my heart. Much more intrigued me and Micah Mason, which already at that time hammer down.
Yes. Both. I am a greedy pig.
As you read, you will know which sins correspond to these gentlemen. I do not tell. The characters too much is not what to write, because it’s not a total focus on them this whole story. A revenge.
Ker Dukey curious to me the first volume, which overlooks the eleventh of February. The second in line is “Pride”, that pride and that’s what she tells about one of my zaklepanych masters. I am waiting impatiently for this volume, and I hope that he will appear in my reader much faster (premiere 25.02).
“Lust” has set the bar high, but I believe that the authors participating in this project will give cope and will not reduce any level of this series. What’s more, I know that this dream is not to meet, but I would just have this series in Poland. Cooperation between seven different authors to create siedmiotomowej whole series is really solid project. I am sure that in “The Elite Seven” and it came out really why we reach the first position, and then look forward to the next. Coming darkness and mystery.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Lust is the first book in the Elite Seven Series. This is a series based around an exclusive club. The Elite and membership comes with certains costs and reaping power and wealth. Each book is written about a different character by seven different authors. Lust is the first book in that series.
I was bor with wealth, athletic ability, and looks that could melt the panties off a nun. I had a clear path to success. Until fate dealt me a cruel blow, leaving me empty and in need of purpose. My only focus now is to become part of The Elite–a secret society in one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. But everything comes with a price, and with The Elite, you have to earn your place. Lucky for me, being sinful is in my DNA. The only obstacle to full initiation is my task: seduce the unseducible, and forbidden, and lure her with the sins of the flesh. Easy for a man like me…in theory. Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks give to earn your place are not for the weak–they’re for The Elite. This is my life, my chance, my legacy. I am Rhett Masters. I am Lust.
Holy cow this book is good and will have you begging for the next to be released. I wouldn’t say that it ends in a cliff. But it does end leading into the next book and will have you wanting it right this second. Rhett is a football player and has always had girls falling at his feet. He and his best friend God never have trouble getting what they want. That is until a horrible tragedy tears his life right out from under him and he ends up doing stupid stuff and loses his ability to play football and make his way through college. He wants to be in The Elite. If he can just do that then all his troubles would probably fix themselves. Or so he think. He however does get in school and Chastity is assigned to be his mentor and boy oh boy do they love to hate each other and have absolutley amazing chemisty. Now thought The Elite has come calling and their task for him to gain full membership has Rhett refusing. This book was so good and their are do many secrets left to reveal. I can not wait to find out what happens to the other six. God has me the most intrigued right now but Pride would rate right up there with him. I can not wait for the next book. It can not come soon enough.
This was the very first book I’ve read by Ker Dukey. It is great introduction to a secret society that i can not wait to read more about. I don’t typically read YA, but I enjoyed this one . I have to say what impressed me the most was the world building and the ENDING! The ending was a cliffhanger that had me gasping and wanting the next book immediatly. I definately recommend this book and can not wait to explore more of Ker’s work
Lust by Ker Dukey is a brilliant and deliciously dark read. For dark romance lovers, it definitely satiates the appetite.
You will see the first of many sins here, which is Lust, which is Rhett’s story. What I loved about this, was that this was written putely in the pov of Rhett.
It had a scale of darkness throughout. The further into the novel, the darker and more intense the novel. It doesn’t quite reach the depravity that Ker Dukey usually does, but it’s still pretty dark, given.
Lust is a read that will definitely satisfy those who love the dark side. It may not be this author’s darkest work, but it is most definitely an awesome read!
“Lust is a violent desire, destructive and uncontrollable. If you let the sensation take root, you become captive to its power, until you’re waking up in the wreckage of its path.”
Lust is the sin I hate the most. Knowing the guy is going to give in to his desires and crave the feeling of fulfillment with whoever stirs his libido. It doesn’t take much, really. It’s a drug. A fix. A high you constantly crave yet knowing all that, knowing the hero is going to be the ultimate manwhore (a peeve of mine), I couldn’t stay away. I just had to be apart of this series. I wanted to experience it all and I was not disappointed.
Rhett, known as Romeo to his lady ‘friends’, has just experienced a horrific loss leaving his life in a turmoil. He is self destructing and losing the grip he has on life. He experiences loss after loss and the only person that he can count on is his friend referred to as God. Both of them are cut from the same cloth. Booze, woman, drugs, they indulge in it all but the only thing that’s keeping Rhett partially sane is his obsession with the Elite. He wants in in this super secretive exclusive club and will do whatever it takes to grant him access. Once he gets his invitation he is given the sin Lust. He has to complete a task that cements his membership to this elusive club and that task is the innocent sweet Chastity.
Although Chastity is the heroine of this book and is connected to Rhett’s sin, this book isn’t about her. This book is about brotherhood. It’s the bond between the men who each represents a sin. This book was short and to the point. I hated Rhett. I hated the fact that his sin was Lust. I hated the fact that knowing that, I still loved him. Lust was amazing.
The ending, which was a cliffhanger, paved the way for the next book, Pride. Thankfully the wait isn’t long. I’m looking forward to it. This series will definitely be unforgettable.
Who is Rhett? What is he supposed to do this stormy night? Who is Robbie? What about God? Who is he? Who is his father? What happens one night with his father after his invite to the Elite? What ultimately changes the whole tone of the story? Who is Chastity? How does Rhett meet her? Who are her parents? What is Rhett tasked to do? This book was not what I expected, but more. Enjoy the read and watch out for Pride!
