I was born with wealth, athletic ability, and looks that could melt the panties off a nun.I had a clear path to success. Until fate dealt me a cruel blow, leaving me empty and in need of purpose. My only focus now is to become part of The Elite—a secret society in one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. But everything comes at a price, and with The Elite, you have to earn your place.… earn your place.
Lucky for me, being sinful is in my DNA.
The only obstacle to full initiation is my task: seduce the un-seducible, the forbidden, and lure her with the sins of the flesh.
Easy for a man like me…in theory.
She started as my task, but what happens when the lines between lust and love blur, and the need for power rages war with the need for her?
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak—they’re for The Elite.
This is my life, my chance, my legacy.
I am Rhett Masters.
I am Lust.

“Born Conqueror”
I truly appreciated reading Ker Dukey’s novel in this “The Elite Seven” series written by seven different authors…each book bearing the title of one of the famous seven deadly sins. Each book explores the initiation of one of the deserving members… the (“uincendum natus”) …into the “The Elite Seven” bearing the title of one of the sins. The first one…fittingly so for the audience it attracts…is Lust.
It is an inventive premise. Although secret societies are not a novel trope…this one is creative in the concept of character naming and theme. With further reading through the books, maybe we will be able to determine if this society, which was founded to benefit society, does indeed, seek justice and fairness; or if it is merely a charade for the rich and powerful to consolidate their hold over the powers to be for their own benefit.
The story in this book illustrates this conundrum exactly. Rhett, who has issues with trauma, grief and some questionable parenting, seeks to be initiated into the society. The task he is given to prove himself worthy is in direct contradiction with his heart’s desire. Despite all his miserable circumstances, Rhett is at heart a noble character…albeit a dark hero of sorts.
I enjoy the writing style of Ker Dukey enormously. It is dark, atmospheric, very sexy and erotic. The story is narrated to us through Lust’s (Rhett’s) POV which enables the reader to identify and understand Rhett well.
There is a complete resolution to Lust’s story but there is a segue to the next book that entices the reader to continue on in the series. I look forward to giving the whole series a read. If you like your romance a shade darker with foreboding elements then this book is a surefire choice.
“Lust is a violent desire, destructive and uncontrollable. If you let the sensation take root, you become captive to its power, until you’re waking up in the wreckage of its path.”
“There were a lot of guys in high school who bitched about going down on a woman, but to me, there’s nothing better—nothing more masculine than making a woman quiver and come on your tongue. I’d bathe in her juices if I could.”
“Love is more dangerous than lust. I knew it and played into the game unwillingly, until it was too late. I lost.”
Lust (The Elite Seven, #1) by Ker Dukey
Pride (The Elite Seven, #2) by J.D. Hollyfield
Wrath (The Elite Seven, #3) by Claire C. Riley
Envy (The Elite Seven, #4) by M.N. Forgy
Gluttony (The Elite Seven, #5) by K. Webster
Sloth (The Elite Seven, #6) by Giana Darling
Greed (The Elite Seven, #7) by Ker Dukey
What a crazy, thrilling start to a great series. Lust by Ker Dukey throws the reader right off in to the deep end from the first pages and never slows down. This story was action packed and filled with more secrets than I could count. There was enough heat to melt my Kindle. I loved this book and I am so excited to read the rest of this series!
I didn’t know what to expect going into this book and series. This book is a great start to what I am hoping will be a great series.
I mostly enjoyed this book. This is a typical and a not so typical romance. I had no trouble reading it from start to finish in less than a day. It most certainly caught my attention.
The budding relationship between Chastity and Rhett is cliche’ and not so cliche’ at the same time. It totally works. Throw in a little soul searching, and this book is the perfect recipe for a good book.
The downfall for me. Towards the end the book started to veer a little. It slowed down and moved from one thing to the next a little too fast. You will have to read it to see what I mean. And then there is the random character thrown in in the last few chapters. Just a random dude, who was never mentioned anywhere else in the book. He was written as he had been in the book the whole time. I am still a little confused by it.
Overall, I liked this book. I plan on continuing the rest of this series. How could I not after that ending???
This is my life, my chance, my legacy.
I am Rhett Masters.
I am LUST
After experiences two traumatic events, Rhett’s life is spiralling out of control. Desperate to get out of his father’s control and house, he is willing to do ANYTHING to be a part of The Elite, a secret society who takes care of their own.
He joins St. Augustine College, the place where The Elite recruits.
Chasity Griffin, daughter to the Dean of St. Augustine, is assigned as Rhett’s mentor to help you settle in and help show you around your first week. And while she is nothing than Rhett’s normal hookups he is drawn to her.
People say love is powerful, and that’s true, but more often than not, it’s corrupted by lust.
When the invitation comes to join the Elite, Rhett is subjected to a task to be completed to become a full member.
I liked Rhett and his friend God. The prologue is engrossing, heartbreaking and made me somewhat emotional, but it was what made me instantly like Rhett, a lot!
Lust is a force all its own. It consumes the mind and body, and causes even the most loyal to indulge in its sinful ways.
I’m looking forward to reading the stories of the other Elite prospects!
Lust introduces the twisted world of The Elite with a bang. Rhett Masters is a sexy, screwed up hero who goes to great lengths to figure out the mystery of his The Elite. I loved his interactions with Chastity too. The romance was sizzling!
WOW! This is gonna be one hell of a series.
This is a slow and a sweeter read from ker so not like her other books,
she had me intrigued and hooked from the start.
A fantastic start to the series.
I’m now convinced she can write anything.
Welcome to the world of the elite, a brotherhood like no other.
world of sin, deception and chaos.
I loved rhett and cant wait to read pride.
3.5 Stars
Lust is the start of the The Elite Seven series and each book is written by a different author. While each book is about a particular sin and character, the books do follow an overall plot and should be read in order.
Lust sets up the who the Elite Seven are and how they are to become like brothers and in order to be fully accepted into the The Elite, they must complete the initiation tasks. We unfortunately only get to see what task Lust (Rhett) has to fulfill in order to be accepted, but we do get glimpses of the others and we get an idea of what Gluttony (God) task is since Lust and Gluttony are best friends. We do get to see the tasks of each in their books.
The start of this series did not wow me – I was expecting more with this book. It’s what sets the tone for the entire Elite world and I felt a bit letdown but it’s more due to what I expected and not the writer’s fault. I didn’t expect the characters to be so young – just starting college. I was anticipating them to be graduating and finally proving their worth to be selected as a candidate for The Elite. I was also hoping to get a better idea of how each character was chosen for their sin, but from what I’m gathering each book may explain that – that’ll be decided as they are released.
Rhett was a character I had a hard time connecting to – he was very unsettling in who he was. He does suffer a great loss and I get that plays in to him feeling guilty about it but his actions are all over the place. He parties a lot, fights with his father and yet, on a normal day-to-day basis, he acts completely normal. I felt a lot of inconsistences with his character and that hurt in connecting with him and his relationship with Chastity.
Chastity was the shining light in this book – not only for Rhett but for me. She made this book shine and brought another plot twist to the story. I love that she challenges Rhett, sometimes without realizing it, and never bowed down to him like all the other girls. She knew of his reputation with girls and steered clear of him, but also held her ground when she did have to deal with him. She was the fresh air that Rhett needed.
Overall, I think this book came down to more of my expectations but more of the writing style. The writing did not flow well for me and felt like the author was trying to fit a lot of information from introducing characters, the Elite background to focusing on this particular sin, Lust. I think that also hurt in being able to connect with Rhett and his relationship with Chastity – I wanted more of them in this book.
As for expectations, it is nothing like I anticipated and that is of no fault to the author. This is why I like to keep an open mind and will continue with the series.
It’s a decent start to a series where there are a few authors I have not read before. I am hoping with each book that we get more details on each character along with their particular sin and the reasons they were all chosen. It’ll definitely be interesting to see this play out and what the end game is for these Elite Seven.
This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. At first I wasn’t sure that I would like Lust or the series in general, but I got sucked right in. Rhett is confident and cocky, yet not everything is as wonderful as it seems. Getting into the Elite was a big goal for him. I loved Chasity. She is a great heroine, but I would have liked to have known her a bit better – I think that having a few chapters from her POV would have helped. Lust is full of secrets and intrigue and kept me entertained until the very end. I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.
Rich, hot guys. Secret societies. Seven deadly sins. Lust definitely describes Rhett. His addiction to woman. Chasity changes that all and makes him question wanting to be Elite…
Lust by Ker Dukey is the first book in The Elite Seven series. This series contains seven books in all, each one having the title of one of the seven deadly sins with each book written by a different author makes it a fun, creative idea.
The Elite, a secret society, is at the center of these books. This organization is so powerful that it can make or break a person. Early on in the book Rhett, our pseudo-hero, suffers a devastating tragedy and starts a downward spiral to self-destruction. However, he knows the only way he can right the wrong that destroyed his family is to become a member of the Elite. Moreover, he will do anything to become a member. When he is picked to be one of the seven candidates of the Elite, he becomes consumed with this task.
Then, Chasity Griffin slams into his life. Chasity, a good girl who happens to be the dean’s daughter, becomes Rhett’s initiation task to earn him a permeant place in the Elite. Seduce her; it’s that easy…or is it? I liked Chasity, she is adorable and sexy and at the same time, smart and sassy. The best part about her is that she could see Rhett for the panty melting man whore that he is. They start as enemies, and their combustible attraction and fun, sexy banter muddies the water of their relationship, in the best possible way.
The things I liked about this book, well written, fast-paced, exciting plot-line, great characters, and scorching sex scenes. There were also some dark twists that kept me reading. I would have liked the book to be a little longer with the same amount of attention paid to Rhett and Chasity as was paid to setting up the series. Overall, this book was an excellent start to a promising series and a very LUSTY read. Enjoy!
This is the first book of the Elite Seven series and it literally sucked me in right from the start. I was constantly like OMG and WHAT?! the whole time trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This book has so many twists and turns that I definetly didn’t see coming at all. At the end your literally left going WTF OMG and demanding the next book in this series!!!
This book was amazing. I loved the way the relationship between Chastity and Rhett evolved. The characters are very well written. I can’t wait to learn some of the other characters stories in the other books of the series.
The Elite is a secret society with power unimaginable. To be a member, is one of highest honor. Follow their rules and you will have endless: WEALTH, POWER, and FAME. Once you are selected, you must pass initiation. And meet the brotherhood. Your brothers in arms. A bond so lethal it is unbendable and unbreakable. The Seven Sins.
LUST, PRIDE, WRATH, ENVY, GREED, GLUTTONY, SLOTH
Rhett Masters, suffered a big loss in his family that set him on a path of booze, sex and self-destruction. His only goal is to become part of the Elite 7, a secret society of specially chosen college students to join a brotherhood. Each potential elite is set a task in the initiation process to secure their place they must complete the task.
Rhett has received an invitation to join The Elite club, he is duped as Lust. As woman say he I very beautiful.
Rhett falls for the nice girl, Chastity, who is supposed to show him around the college his first few weeks. Chastity, has always done what she was told to do. She doesn’t want to bring shame to her father, who is the Dean of the University they are attending. She doesn’t want anything to get back to him that she’s done anything wrong. So, she tries to stay on the straight path. That is until she meets Rhett. He just has bad written all over him. She is drawn to him. And he is drawn to her.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a review of my own.
Rhett Masters stole my heart in this story. The broken bad-boy who hides behind a mask. Everyone has made judgments based on who they think you are. But what if you only play the part to hide who you truly are. What if you are so broken you disguise yourself so much into this persona, even you begin to believe it. There is so much to this character that it is hard not to relate in some way and fall head over heels for him. Chastity is my kind of chic! She’s sass and emotion and hides in plain sight. He’s the bad boy and she’s the good girl and together they are what dreams and great stories are made of. Add in the twists of the Elite Seven, and the drama only intensifies. This series is going to be more than I imagined and I can not wait to unravel it all!
MY OH MY! Ker Dukey gave us a great one! Rhett and Chastity are fabulous together! I love how book 1 of The Elite Seven series has began and cant wait until Pride, book 2, is released!!!! Thank you Kerry for starting it off with an awesome bang!
I fell so hard with this story, I am afraid the next books will destroy me forever.
I was very surprised with Lust. I was expecting something dark but received a different and filled with so many emotions story. The story begins with a very dramatic event and left the main hero, Rhett Masters completely broken (and me too).
He drowns his sorrow an pain with alcohol, parties with friend God, girls and engages revenge. Then he gets to know The Elite, starts to be obsessed with this secret society, possibilities, power and wealth. I got obsessed with The Elite too. With every chapter I got so turned on with this story and each potential member (I need a private party with all of them). But to become a part of The Elite you have to prove yourself, and the task Rhett got really complicated his life. As a Lust, he has to seduce a girl he gets to know very well. And to what reason. WHAT REASON? And will he do it?
Chasity is a good girl, an eye in her father eyes but and immune to Rhett charm. But he becomes very persistent. Her voice calms him, smooths his pain and nightmares. Lust, at first sight, changed to something more. Feeling bad has never felt so good.
Rhett is a typical rich boy. He was very real for me, his pain, anger, obsession, and love. His love for family, friends, and Chasity got straight to my heart.
Lust is a great beginning to The Elite Seven series. It gives you a little insight into this mysterious and very powerful world. I feel that every guy was picked for a dark and very sinful reason.
This series will give us a very important message and lesson, the power of brotherhood. Will the seven guys learn to protect and lean on each other in this cruel world? The Elite didn’t sound so interesting and a great opportunity to Rhett at the end, because the reason for his pain is connected with this secret society. But shh… let me tell you something. The ending? You will stare at the kindle feeling nothing. Okay, feeling Lust for more, so much more.
A new series featuring the seven deadly sins and Ker Dukey is involved? Sign me right up! Although not in line with her usual mind f¥ckery, I still enjoyed this story. I’m looking forward to finding answers to all the questions this book prompted.
This was an intriguing start to what I think is going to be a really good series. I think this book was really laying the groundwork for the rest of the series. Rhett was a beautifully damaged boy. My heart broke for him and I could see why he was the way he was. Chasity was a good person for him… finally he meets a girl who doesn’t throw herself at him. The ending of this book was really intriguing. Now I really need to know what’s happening! Can’t wait to read the next book!
Wow! Where do I begin?! This new series is going to be epic! The Seven Sins doesn’t even begin to explain how good this is going to be. The first story is Lust and is about Rhett. Tragedy happened to him and he couldn’t get over it. His life was a mess but he had heard about some special club. But will they take him in? And Chastity, a young girl he becomes enamored with. But can he handle what the club wants him to do? These two characters are perfectly depicted. You can feel their emotions deep in your heart. I also love how you are introduced to so many characters, it will make your head spin in a good way. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series! A definite must read!
