I was born with wealth, athletic ability, and looks that could melt the panties off a nun.I had a clear path to success. Until fate dealt me a cruel blow, leaving me empty and in need of purpose. My only focus now is to become part of The Elite—a secret society in one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. But everything comes at a price, and with The Elite, you have to earn your place.… earn your place.
Lucky for me, being sinful is in my DNA.
The only obstacle to full initiation is my task: seduce the un-seducible, the forbidden, and lure her with the sins of the flesh.
Easy for a man like me…in theory.
She started as my task, but what happens when the lines between lust and love blur, and the need for power rages war with the need for her?
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak—they’re for The Elite.
This is my life, my chance, my legacy.
I am Rhett Masters.
I am Lust.

Damn this was good. My 1st 5* star of 2019. Lust is the opener of the The Elite Seven Series. A series that will demonstrate the seven deadly sins. Ker Dukey is the author of the first book. He writing style is addictive. When she brings Rhett Masters to life we learn what true lust is all about.
“Grief is a fickle whore. It hits me in waves, reminding me whenever I try to forget.”
Rhett is grieving for his youngest brother. The only thing propelling him these days is his lust for power and wealth. He hears about a secret society that promises fame, wealth and connections. Rhett sets out on a destructive path trying to gain entry.
This is an ARC review
Whoa, what a great beginning for this group of sinners!
Rhett Masters is Lust personified He’s escaping his guilt-ridden past with a series of meaningless encounters and faceless girls. His sole focus is to be chosen for the Elite Seven so he can avenge his brother’s tragic death, so he becomes the embodiment of sin.
Chastity Griffin is a bit of an outsider at the college where the two meet. At a glance, she’s nerdy and bookish, but she’s also feisty. And to Rhett’s surprise, she harbors a fair amount of disdain for him. That intrigues him, and he’s drawn to her like he’s never been drawn to anyone before. She’s light and good, and a bright spot in his very dark life. An unlikely friendship forms, until The Elite ask him to perform a task that proves he’s worthy. So much heartache and angst when he’s forced to make a tough choice!
Dark and delicious, Lust is a hard-edged tale. Ker Dukey has set the bar for what should be a compelling series. her words are golden. I’m giving this 5 lusty stars!
This was an interesting start to THE ELITE SEVEN series. I’m not a fan of uber whores (paired with almost virginal heroines) and OW stuff in my books anymore. I think it has been done to DEATH at this point, so I can’t say I overly enjoyed most of this one. However, I figured going into this series that none of the books would be free of that type of thing, so I can’t complain too much. The writing was excellent. It is a relatively short book, so it moves along at a good pace. The plot was interesting in regards to the “secret club” aspect. I never warmed up to Rhett as a hero, or him and Chasity as a couple (although their banter was fun at times). There was just too much OW stuff thrown in for me to feel a connection and his cocky attitude didn’t help either. I also feel like their relationship took a HUGE backseat to set up the series. I liked Chasity though. From the little we get of her she was a great heroine. The sex scenes (when we finally get to them) were suitably hot.
So yea, as a setup book for the series this worked exceptionally well. However, it completely missed the mark in the relationship department. There was just too much other stuff going on for me to feel like this couple had any real connection at all. Still, I am intrigued enough about the other six guys to continue with the series.
I really liked Lust and the introduction to The Elite Seven Club. It was a fast paced story, with interesting characters and a great introduction to the series. As it was a first book in a 7 book series, I understand that we lost space from the main plot to led us to understand everything was set up, and because of that, I thought the mais plot was solved to fast. That aside, I can say that I really enjoyed the book and plan on read the other books in the series! I really need to know all the sordid details! Can’t wait to read Pride next.
Lust was my first Ker Dukey read and omg I cannot wait to dive into the rest of her work!! Phenomenal does not even begin to describe this novel. She rips your heart to shreds and puts it back together again all while keeping you on the edge of your seat. Rhett and Chastity’s story was everything I wanted and more. This was the perfect introduction to what I expect to be an incredible series. READ IT NOW!!
A fantastic start to the Elite seven Series. This book kept me turning the pages not knowing what was going to happen next, the Elite are not what they seem and it’s a roller coaster ride of ups, downs, twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out it turns. Highly recommend this Ker Dukey has done an amazing job and I now eagerly awit Pride
Great beginning to this sinful series. I really fell in love with Rhett and Chastity…they both were a little bit broken but helped to heal one another. The Elite is such a mystery…so much power and intrigue. I definitely want to discover who they exactly are and what’s their purpose. And what are all of the seven’s individual tasks? Bring it, Pride…I know you’ve got a whole lot of secrets just waiting for me.
Welcome to The Elite Seven!
“These violent delights have violent ends.”
Being the first book from this new series of 7 different authors for each deadly sin, Lust will have you hooked as soon as you start the first page. It’s dark, addicting and oh so delicious.
Rhett Master, who is our Lust is a young guy looking for a way to escape the demons following him. Joining the Elite he feel will help him get the answers he needs and the justice he wants. But all that changes when a firecracker named Chastity comes into his life.
“She’s my home. My everything.”
This book will take you on a ride of emotions from heartbreak to angst. It will also show you risk and a brotherhood that have your back no matter what happens.
“Keeping the society’s secret is of utmost importance, and any indiscretion will be punishable by the full force of the society.”
We see at points of this story how the brotherhood helps each other. And at the end it’s as us guessing and wanting more. We’ll have to see what happens next in PRIDE.
Lust is the first book in the Elite Seven Series. Going into this I thought I knew where the story was going, I couldn’t have been more wrong! This is a great introduction to the series, as you are introduced to the other 6 guys as well and get glimpses of their personalities and the reason they were matched with their sin. Lust is a quick read but really well paced and kept me guessing on where things were going.
Lust is Rhett Masters story.
After a tragic accident that Rhett blames himself for he’s spiraling out of control. Rhett wants more out of life, and he thinks the only way to get that is by joining The Elite. Rhett is willing to do ANYTHING to be a part of this elite secret society.
Rhett meets good girl Chasity on his first day at St. Augustine. She’s the first girl that doesn’t want him, even if her body tells him differently. Chasity quickly becomes the calm to Rhett’s chaotic world and mind…but what happens when Rhett is finally noticed by the Elite and gets his first task that he must complete to become a member and receive everything he’s ever wanted?
Is there more to this secret society then what Rhett thinks?
Lust is told completely from Rhett’s POV which I absolutely LOVED! Most of the stories that I have read are from the heroine’s POV or dual, being completely from Rhett’s POV was a nice change for me. I loved the funny back and forth banter between Rhett and Chasity. Going into this story I thought it was going to be a dark read, surprisingly it wasn’t but still turned out to be a wonderful story!
The ending…oh what a way to end. Pride’s story is up next and I’m on pins and needles waiting to find out what happens!
Ker Dukey is a new to me author, and after this, it surely will not be my last book from her. If you are a fan of new adult, college romances, filled with angst, tragedy, suspense, AND a secret society on top, then this is the series for you!
“Lust is a force all its own. It consumes the mind and body, and causes even the most loyal to indulge in its sinful ways”
Welcome to St. Augustine!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Oh damn was this book so freaking fantastic. I absolutely loved this story. It had me turning pages faster than I could read the words.
I couldn’t wait to see what happened on the next page and believe me there was plenty going on.
This is just book 1 and mercy did Ker deliver with a passion like she always does.
No spoilers here you’ll just have to grab this book and find out what happens in it, but I will say this much talk about playing some mind games just when you think you know what’s happening nope sorry here’s another twist in the story Haha.
That’s why I loved it so much it had me guessing about who was manipulating who. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2.
This is just my opinion and my review
Rhett Masters was the human embodiment of lust. No question. He and his rich bestie lived life in excess – booze, drugs and women. Nothing was too taboo and no risk too high. He wasn’t unlike many of his real life teenage counterparts – cocky, arrogant, and with an unhealthy sense of invincibility. What struck me hard about this dude, what allowed me to accept him and all of his flaws, were his reasons. Because really what good is madness if we don’t understand it?
Lust is a violent desire, destructive and uncontrollable.
Suffering a great loss, Rhett was a man lost. He was broken and distraught and had to find ways to numb himself just to get some sleep. That is until he meets Chastity, who was able to calm his storm within. Their initial meetings were more inline with enemies-to-lovers and their banter was off the hook. I loved Chastity’s spunk and how she tried to give as good as she got. She was a sweetheart without being a pushover and I enjoyed getting to know her through Rhett’s eyes. The fact that their relationship was more of a slow build was a bit of a surprise, but she ended up being quite lusty herself.
Lust is a force all its own. It consumes the mind and body, and causes even the most loyal to indulge in its sinful ways.
The Elite Seven is just as it sounds – exclusive. Its members enjoy some sweet perks and Rhett has found a brotherhood among the other inductees. The stage is set and with one heck of a cliffhanger, I’m looking forward to getting to know the other members better.
Whose blood is that?
Pride is next!
There’s really now way that I can describe this book that will do it any true justice, but I’ll try the best I can. This book was amazing. It’s unpredictable, and tragic. It’s suspenseful, and addictive. There are parts where you swoon, then parts where you wanna scream. This story twisted and everything I hoped it would be. I am desperate to read the next book, because this series is so imbedded in my system, that I know I’m going to have a hard time digging myself out of the book hangover it’s thrown me into. This is an absolute must read. The characters are fantastic, and the plot is beyond unforgettable. Everyone needs to read this book!
“More wealth. More influence. More power.”
The Elite Seven series includes 7 books, by 7 authors, about 7 Deadly Sins. The entire premise of the series of an ultra secret and elite society had me intrigued and dying to start reading. The first installment in the series, LUST, written by Ker Dukey absolutely exceeded every expectation I had for the series! Ker Dukey didn’t hold anything back and set this series off with a bang! The bar has been raised, the scene has been set. Full throttle and pedal to the metal, LUST takes it there. This book is riveting, raw, and seductive, an absolute must read. Nearly too hot to handle, expect the unexpected from this dark and forbidden romance.
Author Ker Dukey pushes your heart to the brink right out of the gate. Reading the first pages I found myself completely and utterly hooked. Rhett Master’s character is provocative, captivating, sinfully sexy. He’s broken and running from the demons waiting in the dark. His grief has him drowning in an ocean of sorrow. After losing nearly everything, Rhett finds himself with one card left to play, but will the sacrifice be too much for even Rhett’s lustful side? These tasks are not for the weak, but for the Elite, and to be the best you must be ruthless. Are you ready, for LUST?
Once again Ker delivers another fantastic book.
This is the first of 7 books and what a fantastic start.
Meet Rhett Masters he comes from a family of wealth and good breeding, But one tragic night changes everything for him, Rhett wants to join the Elite 7 a secret society he learned about at a young age but only the best can join the elite, Rhett best friend God has a way in but they need to prove they have what it takes his given name on joining the elite is Lust, Rhett needs to complete a task he is given but once he meets Chastity Griffin he’s not sure he can go through with it, she’s the daughter of the dean but something about her calls to Rhett something he has never felt before, a lot of twists in this book you will fall in love with Rhett and his story and then you will want more a must read.
I really wish I had started these books in order. This story flows together so much more. Rhett Masters is a damaged boy coping with the loss of his baby brother while trying to get ahead in life. He believes the answer to all his problems is by joining the Elite society where he is given the sin of Lust. Even though this society will set you up for life, everything comes with a price. Once you’re in, you/re in for life and Rhett’s mission is to betray the one girl he’s been able to count on.
Chastity is oblivious to the harm and evil her father and step-mother have done to the people around her. This girl has become everything to Rhett and watching their relationship develop warmed my heart. Not to mention all the sex these two have, they’re relationship is pure fire!!! I’m really trying my hardest not to give too many details away to not spoil it for readers that are interested in starting the series.
I am so happy that I found The Elite Seven. All the dark, mystery and betrayal this book has to offer makes it so enjoyable. On to the next book in the series.
This book was a great start to the series. I couldn’t put it down, you would think with the title that the entire book would be about lust but there were several parts that I laughed out loud. It was a great story. Chasity and Rhett were great together, she helped him so much. I felt so sad for him. I would love to read the rest of the series especially about “God” Rhetts bestfriend but you all know I am on book allowance he$$ so I will have to wait for sells 🙂
Finally reading this series!
I was a little underwhelmed with this novel, especially considering the author writing it. The book spent a lot of time on The Elite Seven and working to get Rhett into the group. Now that all the Elite have joined together, it seems like it’ll be smooth sailing here on out and that this novel was the introduction to the system. I found Rhett’s story of getting into the group made the romance aspect feel rushed. To my understanding going into this book, he was already in the group and she was his task. While the story of the entrance was interesting, I think the book should have been longer to fully develop it all.
Ker Dukey once again created a really cute romance filled with heat and sweetness. I was hooked right in and fell in love with the two of them. My complaint regarding this very thing though was the progression of them. First they are playfully fighting, then she kisses him and it goes from there. There wasn’t much of a smooth transition at all.
My other critique of this is simply the tone of the novel. Considering the topic and lust being his sin, I didn’t find it too lust-ful. He was the playboy character who all the women wanted, sure, but the tone sounded more juvenile than he should have been. Granted this book takes place at the beginning of college, and thus he is fresh out of high school, but still. Maybe up the ages of the characters or write them to be more mature.
Good book, but considering its author, it didn’t live up to my expectations. It was lacking and dull compared to what it could have been. Hoping for the rest of the series to go better.
Rhett Masters is high school royalty, wealthy, good-looking and a star football player. Rhett has a new girl every day and plans to go to school on a football scholarship. After a family tragedy that Rhett believes is his fault, his life spirals downhill and causes him to loose his chance at a football scholarship. Rhett changes his focus to becoming one the Elite, a secret society in New Orleans that recruits seven members a year. The Elite will pave the way for Rhett’s future, but getting in will come at a price. The task that the Elite give Rhett seems simple for a guy like him, but once Rhett learns more about the the woman he has to target, he has to choose her reputation over his dream.
From the absolutely heart-wrenching opening of Lust, I knew I was hooked. I really liked the idea of the secret society, The Elite and how they were based on evil and sin. Rhett seemed like he was going to be the stereotypical good-looking bad boy, however, his motivations were much deeper. From the beginning, I could tell that Rhett had much deeper emotional motivations than her ever showed on the surface. Rhett’s initiation into the Elite was intense, but predictable. Although, Rhett and Chastity did make a really cute couple and the heat and dirtiness factor ramped up when their relationship took off. I can’t wait to go deeper into the stories of the other seven member, especially Rhett’s friend, God.
I have been so excited to start reading the Elite Seven series.
Lust had such a compelling and entertaining darkness that pulled me right into the story. There was so much pain and turmoil surrounding Rhett. And when he may have found an antidote, then there was the task. This book was one crazy ride filled with secrets from start to finish and was a terrific beginning to pull me right into this series and make me want more.
A good story. It seemed to be more focused on the Elite 7 guys rather than the romance which is usually a turn-off for me but in this case I think that it was okay, it worked for this book. Very curious to see how the other six books turn out.
