Beginning a new career as a linguist at Harbour Point SEAL base is a fresh start. It’s a way to bury my loss. The grief. The façade my shot-gun marriage has become. It is the only bright spot in an otherwise dim existence. I don’t expect to rekindle a friendship with a wildly cocky, always humorous, and sometimes demanding Navy SEAL. I’m supposed to teach him foreign languages. The job is … supposed to give me purpose. Quickly my friend ensnares me with more than just his wit and bad pronunciation.
He traps me with salvation.
Lust has a pulse—a memory. It strips inhibitions and dilutes the world around us. Love? That comes and goes. Lust is the only language capable of healing. It’s his language. I will speak it to save him. To save myself.
It’s the only choice.
A standalone novel.

I am so grateful to have received an ARC of this book. I really loved this wonderfully written and very emotional story. I am new to Rachel, this is only the second book I’ve read, but I intend to read more from her for sure. Wow this book will stay with me for a while. Let me just put it this way, the irony that Kendall is a linguist will not be lost on anyone.
Kendall has been through one of the worst things a woman can go through in her lifetime. It has effected her mentally and emotionally and has wreaked havoc on her marriage and ability to move on and live. Her husband Adam has been patient but their marriage was not all that strong to begin with. When Kendall finally gets a job on the navy base as a linguist, she is reconnected with her long lost friend Leo. This too wreaks havoc on her emotions while also helping her because she is able to talk to Leo in a way she can’t with anyone else. But it also makes her see that she needs/deserves more in her life.
I did not see what happens coming at all and I just love that I was surprised by it. It truly is a unique story line. I spent a fair amount of time in tears!
This is an amazing book and I can’t wait to read more by this fantastic author.
5 incredible stars for this one. I did not expect this book to blow me away like it did. I felt heartbroken for the main characters nearly the whole time. Their story is not an easy one. It’s not insta-love or a quick read romance. It’s heartbreaking and powerful. It’s a tear-jerker, it makes you want to reach inside their world and give them some kind of comfort, any kind.
Just when you think that there’s some reprieve for the characters, something else throws their love for a loop.
Just an absolutely incredible book by this author.
This is a stand-alone that can be read by itself but you get a better back story of Kendall & Leo if you read Stealing It. Through the whole Seal Series you can see the changes and what has become the new normal for WWIII.
In Stealing It I had mixed feelings about Leo because on the surface he didn’t seem like the best guy. So going into this book I tried my best to have an open mind about him and not being over assumptions from Stealing It. But the more I read the more I fell in love with Leo. He totally redeemed what I thought he was in Stealing It! He became the man that was so much more than you expect!
You can truly see how great Leo is when he and Kendall reconnect because of her situation. Kendall has suffered a loss and is in a marriage that is quickly dying. Kendall’s situation is by no means a pretty one. But I am so glad that Rachel didn’t shy from showing the ugly. Because that makes it so much more real for the reader.
Kendall and Leo were great together. But I also felt for Adam because he seemed to be a decent guy. Things ended and it was something that could really happen and not just some off the wall ending.
This book does include many heavily emotional times but it has the lighter sweet times as well! There was a great balance to keep you going throughout the book.
Thank you so much to Rachel Robinson for the free review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
Lust in Translation is my first read by Rachel Robinson and it will not be my last. Days after finishing and I still can’t get Leo & Kendall’s story. I don’t feel my review will do their story justice.
Kendall is overcoming one of the worst tragedies imaginable and she is struggling to find herself again. Deciding to join the world again, she re-enters the workforce. She never dreams of running into her childhood crush, Leo. After being dead inside for so long, she finally feels something. Leo and Kendall’s story is a beautiful one full of loss, tragedy and healing. It is a MUST read and I cannot wait to read more books by Rachel.
My Review
Five stars!

This title is perfect!
Rachel killed it with this book and killed me in the process. From the beginning, she pulls out all the emotions and keeps going. I love how this book was about Kendall!! I was hoping she would write her story and man did she!!
“An epic love deserves an epic fight.”
Love triangles are hard for me and let me say its not a cheating sort of love triangle but more of an emotional one. It has just the amount of angst I love in a book without overdoing it. Another thing that I loved was that she didn’t make any of the males in this triangle unlikable which made it that much harder. As a reader, we all knew in our gut who she should be with, but there were so many other factors to it. I have to say Kendall angered me on many occasions but looking at the big picture I understood where she was coming from. And then when she figures out what she wants, BAM, Rachel ripped my heart out.
This book tugged at my heartstrings, but like Rachel always does she throws in humor to lighten the mood a bit.
I think reading the blurb we get the picture of what this book is about and I don’t want to ruin anything, but if you’ve read Stealing It you get to see Kendall and Leo reunite after several years and see their friendship reconnect. The problem is, emotions are high, and feelings run deeper than friendship.
“Don’t let nostalgia lead you astray or be an excuse for a decision you’ll regret later.”
While I was reading this book I was hoping for multiple points of view, and then Rachel blew it out of the park when she switched the point of view, I loved it, and it was brilliantly done.
I could go on and on, pick up this book it is a must read; sad, heartwarming, funny and sexy.
This story was absolutely fantastic. I just wanted to keep reading and forget the world around me. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The storyline was interesting and reading about how the love developed was just amazing. I can’t give this book enough stars.
Haunting..
This book just emotionally crippled me
A story of Love and Loss and a Romance that will tear your heart out.
Kendall and Adam have to experience so much within their marriage, you wonder if they could ever survive it. Can a Love endure such devestation and be everlasting when communication is broken down.
It is a tear jerker so be warned
Beautifully and respectfully written, I did enjoy reading this book it took my breath away.
Excellent read and I highly recommend it.
Lust in Translation
5 Stars
LOVED LOVED LOVED!! Rachel did a marvelous job on this story! It is very well written! Characters and plot are very well developed. What a roller coaster full of emotions!! So captivating!
“An epic love deserves an epic fight.”
Highly recommend!!
Once upon a time, Kendall was a lost woman. She didnt know how to go on.. tangle up with her own world.. At on point, I wasnt too happy with her attitude and gave her more chance. ‘Lust in Translation’ is a story of self healing.. Between Kendall and Theo sometimes ‘the hardest’ was the easiest thing to do. This wasnt an easy romance to read.. it touched your emotions with sadness..
What can I possibly say about this book? It tugged at my heartstrings? I read almost the entire book with tears in my eyes? It made me believe in true love? YES to all of it…and then some!
Lust in Translation had me from page one and I was thinking that this would be a love triangle (I was SO wrong). Well, what I got was even better than that. A story of love, loss and second chances that had me in my feelings through the entire story. I fell in love with every aspect of this story and was on the edge of my seat just waiting to know how it all turned out. I’m not going to lie, the subject matter is hard but SO well worth the read.

“I want you. I want to be tangled in your thoughts forever,”
Kendall Simmons just wants to move on with her life after the terrible loss she has endured. Taking the first step to reclaim some of which she has lost she take a job as a linguist at Harbour Point SEAL base where her first and only student is none other than Leo Calloway the man she met when she still lived at home in Bronze Bay and had a major crush on. Leo is a so happy to see Kendall and his attraction to her is evident for everyone to see.
After reading the Bronze Bay series I wasn’t sure if I would be on board for a Kendall and Leo relationship and let me tell you I now LOVE Leo!. He is so sweet and caring making sure to not cross his rule that he would never be with another mans wife, so he stays Kendall’s friend hoping that maybe someday he could be more. Kendall has endured a horrible loss and just wants to move on with her life however, she feels like she will never be able to be happy with her husband Adam again no matter how much therapy or how patient he is with her. Having Leo back in her life starts to bring happiness to her days and it is evident that what she and Adam have is broken.
As their friendship develops so do their feelings but as long as Kendall is married it can be nothing more. This book evokes a lot of feelings because I did feel deeply for Adam I could completely see where he and Kendall were coming from and I have a lot of respect for them and also Leo who was so strong to stay the course of friendship. Of course living in a World War III scenario there will always be danger lurking and that danger can derail even the best laid plans. I loved having the chance to see some of the characters from Bronze Bay and what they are up too! I highly recommend this one and if you haven’t read Bronze Bay yet I strongly recommend that too although this can be read without them.
“Not making you mine all those years ago was my biggest mistake.”
Kendall and Leo have a second chance at their friendship. Kendall’s struggling to climb out of a very dark place and do what’s right. Leo’s trying to be the friend Kendall needs, but life throws him a challenge he may not be able to overcome. OMG, this is such an emotional read! Kendall and Leo’s relationship started in Bronze Bay’s “Stealing It.” It’s a roller coaster of feelings with lots of ups and downs and twists and turns. It will tug at your heartstrings and bring out all your emotions. Once you start, this is one you will not be able to put down. I highly recommend this very engaging and captivating romance!!
Love, love, love Kendall with all of her flaws. She is real in her depression, her misery, her need to please others while also selfishly wanting to please herself. Leo is a changed person in this book. He has went from a bitter, spiteful kid to a grown man who knows how to be a true friend to Kendall. If you want to understand their back story, I highly recommend reading ‘Stealing It’ (the third book in the Bronze Bay Seals series) first before reading this book.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
I loved that we got to see Kendall all grown up. That poor girl…
I’m glad Leo was able to finally redeem himself. He’s still cocky as ever, but at least we know why he was the way he was in Stealing It.
I loved it!!
This newest release in a new series has a high emotional impact from the start until the end. The author is able to draw in her reader by the wonderful characters that find a second chance at love in the most impossible situation. You will find yourself loving Kendall, her strength and endurance at a time when healing is everything. Leo was the right man for her and as the story unfolds you will find out that they are meant to be together. This is a definite heart wrenching must read!
