I was born with wealth, athletic ability, and looks that could melt the panties off a nun.I had a clear path to success. Until fate dealt me a cruel blow, leaving me empty and in need of purpose. My only focus now is to become part of The Elite—a secret society in one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. But everything comes at a price, and with The Elite, you have to earn your place.… earn your place.
Lucky for me, being sinful is in my DNA.
The only obstacle to full initiation is my task: seduce the un-seducible, the forbidden, and lure her with the sins of the flesh.
Easy for a man like me…in theory.
She started as my task, but what happens when the lines between lust and love blur, and the need for power rages war with the need for her?
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak—they’re for The Elite.
This is my life, my chance, my legacy.
I am Rhett Masters.
I am Lust.

Lust was an interesting and excellent way to set up this series. Ker Dukey did a superb job of setting up this world of secrets, lies, and blackmail and also gave readers a sweet love story. Lust was heavy on the world setting and light on the romance, but it was appropriate for the first book in a series that seems like it is going to be very intricate and intense.
Rhett and Chastity’s love story took a backseat to all the other things going on in Rhett’s life. I would have loved to have seen more of them, but I think taking the focus off his family dynamics, his struggles with grief and guilt, and his desperation to do anything he needed to ensure the future he wanted would have watered down his story. So, while Lust is technically a romance, it’s not the focal point of the book.
I had a hard time liking Rhett several times while reading, but he seemed to have a hard time liking himself, so it seemed intentional. Rhett grew and healed a lot from the prologue to the epilogue – thanks in large part to Chastity and her being a safe, soft place for him to land. No small part of his healing had to do with the brotherhood he was forming with the other members of his Elite class, though. It was good to see Rhett find two incredibly different but equally necessary support systems when he so desperately needed them.
I have a few wishes for Lust, most of them have to do with incomplete storylines, even knowing this is the start of a series. The storylines were specific to Rhett, and I can’t see how – or why – they would be revisited further into the series, so I felt unfulfilled in terms of those. Of course, there are a few storylines that will naturally continue as the series unfolds and I am happy with those being open-ended, as it leaves me anticipating the next book.
Lust is the first book in the Elite Seven series. This series is a collaborative effort from seven authors, each taking on a separate sin and hero. These books, while each focusing on a different main character, will tell one cohesive story and must be read in order. Lust is written in first-person perspective, narrated by Rhett.
The elite seven society are defined as the cream of the crop. The best of the best.
The invitation is your way in, your death your way out. This is a place of forever.
The devastation of losing his brother brings out the daredevil in him as he spirals towards self destruction.
His one goal that keeps him going is being one of the chosen seven.
Can dreams come true and if so at what cost?
Wowsers! what a sensational read, and introduction to the chosen seven!
Rhett so broken. Guilt slowly eating at his soul. His heart darkening as each night nightmares plague him.
He really pulled at my heart strings. To lose his family in one night and not just his brother. Devastated and alone.
He may of been a wild child, rebelling against his pain but I could see underneath his actions there’s alot of goodness to him.
This book had me excited before I even read it and now, oh my gosh I’m more than hungry for the next one!
I’m desperate to know more about the others that were selected, and can’t wait for my next upclose and personal encounter!
The Elite Seven – a secret society originated in 1942. The Elite is for life. Where sacrifices must be made to show your dedication to the organization. A brotherhood forged with initiations where your sin is a reflection or version of your abilities and personality. Seven brothers, Seven sins: Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Pride, Envy, Greed, and Wrath.
LUST: His name is Rhett Masters better known as Romeo among his peers. A playboy, a thief of hearts, devoted to the pursuit of pleasure to mask the pain and misery he experiences nightly. Rhett is spiraling out of control and he thinks the Elite is his answer, but it comes with a price. Rhett’s task should be child’s play, after all he has been seducing women for the better part of his life. That is until he finds out who his target is. In order to obtain the elitist status, will he be able to pay the piper when it comes time to pledge his allegiance?
What a way to start a series!! Ker Dukey has set a exemplary precedent and I am giddy to get my grabby hands on the rest. Lust is seductively addictive and mysteriously compelling.
Download the first vice of The Seven Deadly Sins and indulge in the immorality of cardinal sin!
4.5* Carnal Stars!
Oh wow this is a super intriguing story!! But its so good! Freaking keeps you guessing the whole time. Even after it’s over. I went in this book with so many questions, and even though some were answered I still was left scratching my head, asking more.
Of course I was super excited and intrigued what this story would be about, and excited it would be a 7 part book with different authors adding their own style. and kick starting off the series with Ker Dukey is the icing on a cake. I enjoy her books, her stories and mostly her characters.
Lust is just that! I cant go into much without giving any spoilers, but this man will drive you crazy. how he can party hard and then focus the next day had me questioning him. I felt so much for him, I felt his pain. He’s trouble after an accident that will forever hunt him. but he believes becoming one of the Elite will set him up for life!
This series is going to be freaking AMAZING. its starts off with a bang, keeping you on the edge of your seat, asking questions, and craving more. I cant wait for the next part, to see where this story goes.
Super great read!
Wow, what a start to this series! I am completely hooked and eager to get the next book in my hands. I couldn’t quite connect with the hero and heroine and their relationship as well, but I thoroughly enjoyed Lust. There were little things here and ther that I was hoping would go on a deeper level. I’m still soooo intrigued with the Elite Seven and EXACTLY what they’re all about.
Fresh out of high school and just ready to move forward with his life especially with the huge loss he just went through. More than anything, he’s looking for a fresh start and hopes to be a part of the Elite Seven , an exclusive group that I’m pretty sure he has no idea what it all entails. There are secrets and betrayal, and it won’t be long until the truth is all out there in the open.
Rhett isn’t exactly the definition of an outstanding citizen, but the way he acts is very much what I expected from essentially a teenager. But don’t let that you confuse you, this book is not a YA. It’s definitely a New Adult/college romance.
The prologue really sucked me in on the emotional scale, it really rips your heart. Rhett is still very much grieving and is dealing with it by giving into vices that’s bound to put him on a path of destruction.
I really liked that Chastity is a sweet and innocent person, but when it comes to the moments when it’s just them, we get to see a very sensual side of her. She was definitely the right person to bring Rhett out of the dark.
I’m a bit bummed out that their relationship didn’t take more of a forefront because I really would have loved to see more of them, together, in the book.
Lust really sets the foundation for the Elite Seven and I’m beyond ready for Pride. I’m hoping that we’ll see more of Chastity and Rhett in this series, maybe see a bit more of their relationship. This was my first read by Ker Dukey and it definitely won’t be my last.
**I RECEIVED A READER’S COPY FROM THE AUTHOR, THIS DOES NOT AFFECT MY REVIEW IN ANY WAY. ALL THOUGHTS & OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.**
The concept of this series is brilliant and intriguing. Seven books based on the Seven Deadly Sins – Lust, Pride, Wrath, Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth – written by seven different amazing authors. As soon as I saw it announced on social media, I immediately started salivating at the mouth like a junkie needing a fix for all of these books.
Ker Dukey kicks off this series and lays the groundwork for The Elite Seven – an exclusive and secret society of the rich, powerful and elite – introducing us to the embodiment of Lust – Rhett Masters. And my God that man was sex on a stick… he was dripping in sin!
The way the author wrote his character made me easily fall in love with him. He was an arrogant, alpha party boy who had absolutely no shame and his inner monologue was hilarious… but he did have a big heart, although it was one full of grief and pain. My heart bled for Rhett. He suffered a devastating loss and drowned himself in drugs and alcohol to block out his nightmares
He wants to be Elite to escape the life that was dealt to him because the Elite could take care of him and set him up for life, and he would do whatever it takes to become part of that inner circle… until he meets Chastity – his solace, the whisper of her voice that speaks louder than the roars in his head.
Love, lust, loss, sacrifice and the Elite. These are the components that make up Rhett’s story… and like always, Ker Dukey wrote it phenomenally using descriptive words to make the reader feel the emotions and like you’re actually in the story itself… although it did start out a little bit on the slow side for me in the beginning. I can’t even tell you what it was, probably just me, but it took me longer to read it until I got to the 50% mark, then I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely loved Rhett and meeting the Seven. All the characters were mysterious and intriguing and I can’t wait to find out their stories and more about the Elite.
Overall, this was an awesome start to an addictive new series, one that I will be devouring. Pride is next by J.D. Hollyfield and this is a story I’m dying to get my hands on.
Order of books in this series:

Envy by M.N. Forgy – Release Date: March 25
Greed by Amo Jones – Release Date: April 8
Gluttony by K. Webster – Release Date: April 22
Sloth by Giana Darling – Release Date: May 13
This was my very first Ker Dukey book and I loved her writing from the very first pages.
Lust was a great introduction to The Elite Seven and their world and got me curious and greedy for more. I adored all the sinners and already need their books and stories.
The story started on an emotional note that had me empathising with Rhett, which is why I had more hopes for him as a character. Unfortunately, I can’t say I fell in love with him as the story progressed but Chasity I did like. I enjoyed some of their moments together but not enough to feel invested in their relationship. In fact, I enjoyed his relationship with God (Gluttony) and the others much more.
Perhaps because it’s the first book in the series, the society as well as the other characters were the main focus which I actually didn’t mind. The ending especially had me so intrigued and in need for more that I’m counting down the days until Pride!!
LUST by Ker Dukey is book One in The Elite Seven Series. This is the story of Rhett Masters and Chastity Griffin. Rhett is a drift after a terrible incident which has him on a dark path. Working to become a part of The Elite Seven he has to focus on his new task to complete for them. But can he do so when the closer he gets to Chastity…she is more than he expected and starting to be everything he may want.
Great start to a exciting series.
“People say love is powerful, and that’s true , but more often than not, it’s corrupted by lust.”
Do you agree? I am sure many of you would like to put up a strong debate against it. And many of you would agree. Can we really say which group is right? The answer is a simple and resounding NO. Ker Dukey is going to tease and test your limits like this so many times in Lust, the first book of highly anticipated Elite Seven series.
The story starts with Rhett Masters losing everything precious in his life in one tragic night. Now he drowns his sorrows, bone deep pain and disturbing nightmares in lust and other sins. He thinks the secret society called Elite Seven would help him change his life forever. Well it does but not the way he expected. Because he meets Chastity. The sweet, innocent and beautiful girl who calms his inner chaos and put his nightmares to sleep. Can he leave the ways of his lustful living? Or would Elite Seven push him to make the biggest sacrifice of his life?
Ker Dukey tells a story of sinful passion, dark secrets and twisted desires. This book introduces Elite Seven and it was intriguing to read about each character shortly. You can’t like Rhett all the time. Because he is acting out and he makes questionable choices. That makes it hard to judge him. In fact that is one of the main prerequisite of reading this story. You will need open mind and open eyes. You won’t know what secret is going to strike you next. This kind of raw and gritty stories are my favorite. Ker Dukey wrote it brilliantly! I have doubts in my mind about this society. It seems evil and powerful. I can’t wait to see how the new recruits fare in the journey. You will have a lot of questions but not all the answers.I only wish Rhett’s initiation was a bit more explained. I can’t say much as this story is full of spoilers.
Do you think lust is a sin or just a part of life? Can a sinner change his ways? Can one live with the sin as part of body and mind? Ker Dukey has written an absolutely brilliant and riveting story. She has crafted a tale of mystery, power plays and mind games. It will entice you from the beginning. But I feel the game has only started.
OOOhhhh this is a great beginning for what’s coming. To the public eye Rhett Masters has it all, but the thing he has in abundance is a tortured soul. The guy can not catch a break and the Elite is not making it easier. Good thing he has Chastity on his corner. She is the good to his bad. The calm to his mind. His innocent lullaby. The thing I like most about the story is that he is salvageable and you don’t feel like he’s going in blind into the Elite. He is smart and I’m hoping later, he will get to act and anticipate instead of react to what happens around him. I didn’t expect all these characters to be so damaged, so that makes the story even better because this brothers are early and easily becoming a power house. Plus they are intense, like make your body all tingly intense. This book is so intriguing it will have you at the edge wondering what the end game will be.
When I saw a post with the premise of The Elite Seven series and the synopsis of Lust I knew they were my kind of book and then HOLY hotness the covers for all of them came out.
The thing I wasn’t expecting was the depth of emotion I would feel in the prologue. It was a visceral reaction to Rhett’s pain that the author doesn’t sugar coat, it was raw and so real. It’s a moment that changes the course of his life, now his one hope is to get into The Elite.
Chastity is a young woman who literally falls into his life and two people who wouldn’t normally meet become each other’s solace from the pain.
This is The Elite and getting picked is the easy part actually becoming a member is when the hard work starts. No-one said getting what you want is easy but what if you get it and it’s not what you imagined.
Secret society + alpha young men = my kind of book.
