An incredibly written, suspenseful dark romance.
Andres is Los Zetas, sometimes his jobs leave him in dark places. Places he doesn’t want to take home with him, so he stays away until the demons have gone, sometimes for weeks at a time. He knows that Luna, the love of his life will be waiting for him to return. She wouldn’t risk anything by leaving.
Luna married into this life, she chose it but she fears for her children. She doesn’t want them to grow up to be part of the cartel. So she breaks the rules, she takes them and runs, even though it may end her life.
Will Luna get away and stay hidden or will Andres catch up with her? What will happen if he does, will he be able to deliver the punishment?
Andres and Luna’s love is fierce and strong. They both face agonising, heartbreaking decisions throughout their story. I was on the edge of my seat at some points while reading. The characters, storyline and plot were incredibly written. A fantastic addition to the Blaire’s World series.
First of all I want to say that I just have read 3 of Blaire’s World including this one. But I think for me Andres was more to the extreme point of darkness. But who wouldn’t? when you have everything that you love taken away from you.And just for that I’m pretty sure that this might be my favorite of Blaire’s World series so far. But like I say I still have at least 3 more to go. So we will see what happens. But I sure love Andres.
Another Blaire’s World story focussing on Luna and Andres from the Los Zetas family. What happens when you stray from the path you married into? What do you do when your wife does something she shouldn’t? What’s more important family or who you choose? Very difficult to review without spoilers and
I hate spoilers so I’ll just say I Loved this, loved the angst and the characters And the impossible choices, loved the story line from beginning to end four stonking stars enjoy!
I started 2019 with an ARC of this book and let me tell you I don’t regret signing up for the arc. This book is a must read. You definitely need to have this baby in your library. From the very first page till the end this book takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride full of emotions. From having mixed feelings about the characters till curiosity to know more, this book contains all the elements to grab the attention of the reader.
Once again Nikita has nailed it with this beautiful masterpiece
This was a rollercoaster of a ride! A good read for sure.
ღ The most feared cartel in Mexico (Los Zetas) & beyond. And Andre is among the elite within this vast army of underworld thugs.
I mean this guy lives & dies by cartel’s rules. So prepare yourself for his insane logic
Luna has been Andre everything for five years, 2 beautiful kids (Cristo & Sola) . A mansion in Mexico of course, personal chief, nanny. Everything she could dream of special after he had dragged her out of that poverty-stricken shithole & set her up on a pedestal. And that’s where she been living for the duration of their marriage until today when she betrayal him
They live in the dark world of the Cartel so there are rules to follow & Andres must abide by them – She sign her own death sentence when she ran & she knows she’ll be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her short life,
So the hunt beings
This is the first book of Nikita Slater that I’m reading & I have to say, I’m really happy that I found this author.
A few indifference here, each person has their own opinion, but here few of my
Holy shit, I get why Luna did what she did to Andre, but damn this woman at times was so freakin vain. There were few times she was more worried about how she looked then her own damn safely
Don’t get me started on Andre, I know that I said in the being that he was born into this life & follow the rules to the letter. I can’t put into my feeling for him, I had love/hate relationship with Andre….once you read the book you’ll get what I’m talking about!
:
The outcome of this story had so much potential to be more. Maybe I’m just going through withdraw from the last 2 books I read in this series…. Come it was sometimes gruesome, sometimes scary & somewhat twisted & somewhere in between a love story…
Don’t get me wrong this was good read, just not great read, but
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review
I think that I might try Serafina: by Skye Callahan next in BLAIRE’S WORLD…. Wish me luck
Paulette Review
This book is so dark, twisted, filled with pain and betrayal and so intense you will be hooked. Luna, commits the ultimate betrayal to protect her children, and now she is on the run from her husband, Andres. She knows that if he finds her he will kill her. Andres, struggles with his duty to the cartel, and he loves his family so much, but will that be enough? Will he find a way out? This is an absolutely brilliant story from start to finish!
I really enjoyed this one as this was my first book by this author.. It had my heart pounding which usually a good thing lol..
This is a dark read that may have some triggers for some readers so beware. This was a gut wrenching book for me as a wife, mother, and grandmother. I understand Luna’s need to protect her children from her husband, Andres, who has very dark issues in him. I have the same mother bear protectiveness in myself for my children and grandchildren. The family and cartel who Luna and her children live with is always an ever present threat to their lives because of their enemies. Luna makes one grave decision that sets a course for her life. Lune is a bad a$$ mother who thinks of her children before herself.
What a fast pace read that will have you on a dark twisted read of the betrayal of andres wife that he loves more then anything and can’t live without her and will find away to keep her.
Blaire’s World: Andres & Luna’s Afterword
Andres & Luna’s story is written about Charlie’s youngest brother Andres. It goes over in flashbacks on how they met and fell in love. Fast forward to five years after they met Charlie’s Blaire. Luna has had enough of the cartel life and risks her life to save her son and daughter. Going to great lengths, Luna’s heart craves her husband she has left behind at the sacrifice of her children’s future. But Andres loves to extreme obsession his wife and will do anything to get his woman back even if he has to kill her as a repercussion for her betraying the cartel. But as their story unfolds loads of angst, passion, heartache surfaces for these two. Andres has his opportunity to kill his wife for her willing sacrifice to save their children. Tragedy happens and there is no unresolved conclusion. However it does entice curiosity about a possible cartel aftermath.
This was not a feel-good story, no warm and fuzzy expectations here! Luna & Andres live in a world with different rules from the norm. One misstep, and they could put their lives in jeopardy. I felt both their feelings of despair, and Andres had to be the ruthless man he was for a reason. Luna only wanted her family. Their wants and needs clashed in a way that changed things for them, and it was hard to see how things took such a drastic turn for them. It was dark and harsh, with no apologies. Another hard piece of Blaire’s World where everything is a shade of gray.
Wow. This book is extremely dark. There are part that will make you cry and cry. The cartel is dangerous and you do not cross them. The on,y good thing is this is an HEA.
Whilst a part of me feels like this wasn’t that much of a HEA, I loved that the author DIDN’T go for the cliched ending so typical of the genre.
I think this will be a marmite story – you will either love it or hate it. The writing and story line were excellent, I adored Luna and totally believed in the love between her and Andres. Andres I both liked and loathed, whilst part of me wanted him to be the rescuing hero of the piece, I think what we got was actually more realistic. I struggled with the fact that (view spoiler), whilst appreciating that if the story wanted to be realistic then there was no other option.
We were told things about both MC’s that we didn’t witness. Several times it was mentioned that Luna was selfish, had ’caused issues’ with the cartel and was impulsive, though we got no details or background to prove the point. I never got that impression of her either, I’m not sure if it was an attempt to balance the book or not but I don’t think it needed it. She was pretty much forced into marrying Andres and taking on the rules of his world when she was just 19. I’d say she was a typical new adult finding herself than a thoughtless or selfish individual …. not when you saw her love for her children.
For a lot of the book Andres felt like a villain though, again, his actions were governed both by his upbringing and the ‘laws’ of the cartel. Clearly he was Los Zetas for life, to the point of appearing almost brutally uncaring at times. Excellent writing totally persuade me of the depth of his love for Luna, I really never doubted it, even though that love wasn’t always enough.
It’s really hard to avoid spoilers whilst reviewing this. I do recommend it, there was nothing I would criticise in terms of writing, emotion, plot (other than the ‘slurs’ about Luna) or pace. It’s not a conventional story, from the opening scene with the hero shooting up heroine, to how it ends. However in a genre where too many books are too similar I both admire and appreciate a story that definitely charts its own course.
Oh Luna and Andres OMG where the hell do I start with this one…… I have no idea because I was sitting at the edge of my reading chair reading my kindle holding my breath wondering what Andres what going to do next. I can’t imagine having to go after your wife and having to kill her but she did something to the Cartel that was a no no and they wanted their pound of flesh and they told Andres that he had to kill his own wife or he would be killed to.
As Andres chases Luna his heart is breaking with each sight as he gets closer to her. He knows that he loves her with every bit of his heart but he knows the cartel is no joke and they will come for them and take what they want.
What will Andres to do Luna when he finds her? Will he kill her or go on the run with her?
Be warned this is a dark book, with dark elements. It may have triggers for some. If you don’t think you can handle that this may not be for you. Otherwise, keep on, keeping on, because this series of Blair’s World books are so freaking good.
This is one of those, Oh my Gods, I’ve just been punched in the stomach, it’s all the feels, type of book. Because it starts with all the feels and keep on going. Crazy, crazy ride this one is, people.
If you want a dark, angsty read, you have it in this one. Your emotions are all over. You’re angry, sad, turned on, and back again. The way this author writes her words, is strung together so well, you’re so deep into the book don’t even realize it.
I so much loved this new to me author, that I am most definitely going to be getting more of her books, and I completely and whole heartedly recommend this book. Love, loved it.
I loved this book about Luna and Andres.
Their love was instant and compassionate.
Luna made the choice to save her children from Andres fate of his position in this family.
They make choices, right or wrong, but will they survive??
Wow! Dark, dangerous Andres is sexy and scary at the same time and deeply loves his wife Luna. Luna is strong, loyal and loved Andres fiercely. This book is intense, suspenseful, action packed and twisted. Luna and Andres story took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I loved every dark, intense twisty turn along the way. Great addition to Blaire’s World.
Andres and Luna are amazing characters and their story is so emotional you actually feel everything and all the pain, choices, and the consequences for those choices these characters went through, the decisions that had to made and living with them it was terrifying it broke my heart as it just hits you right in the gut not knowing from page to page whats gonna go down and be ripped away. These characters were very well written and the Author did them justice in every way.
This book was a roller coaster ride of action and passion between Luna and Andreas. My emotions were all over in this story. If you love cartel reads, pick this one up!
