“Some scars are too deep to ever heal,” Leah Gabriella Allen whispered in hushed anguish.
The orphaned young woman knows all too well about scars — exposed as well as hidden deep within.
Gabriella naively falls in the thorny arms of the abusive Brent Sadler. The constant bruise of cruelty is ever present in their ten years of marriage.
One last momentous beating ends with two deaths and changes … deaths and changes Gabriella’s life forever. She stumbles away within an inch of her own life and begins a journey to an unexpected southern home which is none other than Lulu’s Café, where she tries to mend her severed spirit. Lulu is the petite charismatic southern belle, who wisely takes on the challenge of helping the young woman heal. She enlists the support of the enchanting southern gentleman, Crowley J. Mason IV, whose ocean blue eyes seem to hypnotize Leah (as they know her) from the start.
Leah is an unwanted stranger in Crowley’s quaint southern town of Rivertown, South Carolina. He holds her at arm’s length as he tries to decipher the mystery of her recent past, but before the young lawyer realizes it, he finds Leah tucked protectively in his arms. He wants nothing more than to help her heal… if she would just trust enough to let him in.

Excellent Read!!!! ….”Some scars are too deep to ever heal”… Leah Gabriella Allen has many scars from years of neglect and abuse. The tears flowed for me on this book! I really enjoyed the characters of Crowley, Leah abd Lulu! Some parts were hard to read due to domestic violence but it was a wonderful book!
‘Some scars don’t ever heal. No matter how awfully bad you want them to. They’re just too deep.’
When a horrifically battered young woman by chance makes her way to a small southern town (or should we say it is a ‘God incidence?’), she is taken in by Lulu, owner of Lulu’s Cafe, and loved on and nurtured. Still, Leah Allen is broken and pain is …
Couldn’t put this down! As a foster mom, seeing how an intelligent adult could stay in an abusive situation was eye-opening—a story of the struggle to find a way to hope.
This was a difficult book to read. I honestly didn’t know if I would be able to finish reading it because the domestic abuse at the beginning was so hard to read, but I am so glad I did. Leah’s is not just a story of tragedy but of hope and healing. Thank you to all those who recommend it to me.
I read this and then needed to read everything else by this author. Such a great book!
Lulu’s Cafe’ by T. I. Lowe was originally released in 2014. There are some things in this life that are worth repeating, with some updates by the author, Lulu’s Cafe is most definitely a story worth the reading, again and again and again.
This unforgettable story will touch your heart like few other stories will; it has taken me weeks to …
Author T.I. Lowe has created a novel that has a character I wanted to befriend It did not take long to become invested in Leah and feel some of her emotions. The first part of the book was difficult to read and tore at my heartstrings. Then the book lightened into a more fun, romantic tale. I was captivated by this contemporary fiction early …
LuLu Cafe
Leah’s life was so much different before she came to LuLu cafe. Different name. Horrible life with her husband.
After meeting everyone at LuLu her life changes. So hard for her to forget the past. Will she be able to overcome it? She meets Crowley. I loved his character so much. He was hiding things of his own but good things.
The …
My Thoughts on Lulu’s Cafe:
Holy cow! Just wow! I don’t know how to start.
This book has so much shoved within the covers. It’s got so much for you as the reader to digest and even apply to your life today no matter where you are.
Okay. So here it goes. One, grab a box of tissues. If you don’t cry several times throughout this book, I’m …
When I began reading Lulu’s Cafe I was uncertain if I had made a good choice in agreeing to review it but it did not take very long for me to realize that the book was not at all what I expected. It took me on a journey with its main character Leah that touched my heart with both compassion and hope.
Although Leah and Crowley were the primary …
Wow! What can I see about Lulu’s Cafe by T.I. Lowe? Other than it was amazing! It was one of the most expertly written books that I’ve ever read.
T.I. takes you through. Leah’s horrific but triumphant story of abuse and finding love not only with Crowley but with God. She finds the family that she desperately wanted and needed.
Lulu’s Cafe is …
I read this book in one weekend. It’s not often I can read a book in such a short period of time, but I couldn’t put this one down. It is not a light read, and in fact the author does not shy away from details of spousal abuse. I cringed many times, yet continued reading because I was pulling for Leah and knew she was (eventually) heading towards …
‘-With enough love, scars can completely heal.‘-
I’ve had this book in my account for so long! I knew I would love it because… well, T.I. Lowe wrote it, that’s why. But I simply could not bring myself to read it. I knew it was going to be about a victim of terrible abuse and I kept putting it off, feeling like I just wasn’t ready to read it …
Loved it! I highly recommend it.
Y’all, here is one of my top favorite authors ever! I discovered Ms. Lowe a few years ago when I read Lulu’s Cafe as an Indie published book. I have since read it countless times. It was one of the first contemporary Christian fiction books I had read where I felt like an author had done “real” and done it in a way that truly showed the gritty …
A great insight into the life of an abused woman and the grace of God to overcome.
Best read in a while. Loved the characters. Will find more T.J. Lowe books for sure.
I loved this book! I wanted to take a day off from work just so I could read it. This author has a way with words!
