Luke: The McKades of Texas, Book 3 By Kimberly Lewis. I read this book as a standalone without any confusion but I’m definitely going back and reading the others after this amazing story. From page one I was completely hooked and drawn into this stories world. I simply couldn’t put it down, it’s everything I was looking for in a romance story. Karlie is fresh out of college and knows just what she wants out of life and that includes who she wants to be with. Luke is a bit stunned when seeing Karlie for the first time in a while. These two characters instantly pull you into their world and I found myself forgetting I was reading. Their banter back and forth is fun to watch and their chemistry is all the charts. I love characters that have fun together. The storyline is well written and paced nicely. The characters are complex and connectable. I can’t wait to read more from this author. I’m giving this book a five star review and adding it to my read again list for sure.
Luke by Kimberly Lewis is book three of The McKades of Texas. This book can be read as a standalone but it characters from books one and two show up in this book as well. I didn’t read the first two books and was able to follow along very well with the story line but I will definitely be going back to read books one and two now.
Karlie Kyle has loved Luke for as long as she can remember but she’s never been able to get him to notice. Luke runs into Karlie at a diner and can’t stop thinking about her. What he doesn’t realize is, it’s about to get harder to stop thinking about her.
Karlie and Luke decide to be together for the summer. Karlie’s heart is all in though. Will their summer end in heartbreak or will Karlie get everything she’s ever wanted?
I absolutely loved this book. It was a great story and the characters were amazing. Karlie is so strong and independent! She is truly an inspiration. I couldn’t get enough of this book and am definitely going to go back and read the first two books. I absolutely recommend this book!

This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it!! I had no problem reading this as a standalone but do want to go back and read Zane and Norah’s stories because I enjoyed this one so much. I love cowboy stories and this one was perfect. I fell in love with the characters..All of them…I loved the interaction between them all and Karlie’s spunk was awesome.
I read this in one sitting because it flowed so perfectly and although it was somewhat predictable I don’t even care, I loved everything about it. I was so angry a few times at Luke but then he did something that will go down as one of my favorite scenes ever, I had big old alligator tears rolling down my cheeks and I felt like I was right there watching it all play out. This could be a movie, there’s no doubt about it and I can not wait to go back and read the first two, as well as check out what else this author has available.
This was awesome and I highly recommend it, it just has that feel good vibe and I just know I’ll read this whole series again and again.

Rated 5 stars!!
OMG!!! I floved this story! I was drawn in from the beginning and dang if I could hardly put this one down! So glad I have the kindle app on my phone. I was able to keep reading while out and about. Phew! Crisis averted!
Usually I am a fan of the male lead. In this story Karlie is my favorite. She is strong, sassy and confident. She knows what she wants and goes after it. Now saying that I will also say that Luke and Karlie together are adorable..like off the charts adorable!! Their back and forth is one of my favorite things they do. Oh and maybe how she twists him up and he does things for her he has never done before. So sweet!
Karlie is in a tough spot. Trying to change a mans mind about her or actually see her as she is..not as a little girl from his youth. That is why this is so good! She is so confident as she pulls different stunts on him saying…I’m a woman…see ME!! My personal enjoyment started near the beginning when Luke and Karlie meet up at the restaurant. Priceless! I loved being inside his head! It only get better from there!!
Secondary characters are all around in this book. Most are from the previous two stories ( which I have not read). They all add cute little elements to the story! The bantering between the girls is so cute! Many times is feel myself sitting here smiling while reading. The brothers enjoy doing all things to each other (ribbing, joking and sugaring up the young ones) that siblings have for eons. The parents and other family members make them see what is important in life and what isn’t.
I was sooo excited to see the on audio!! It is just as I imagined it would be and again I find myself smiling as I’m listening. It just puts me in a happy mood. It really makes time at the gym go a little faster when listening to something so good. Tiffany Williams does a wonderful job narrating. I have listened to her before and she is enjoyable. She was a good choice!
This is my first story in this series and by this author. I loved both the story and the characters in here! If the other two are written along the same lines. I will gobble them up as well. This one will be placed on my reread book shelf. If you are reading this far and have made a decision yet? I highly recommend this if you want to fun in your romances.
Very enjoyable and well done!
Luke is the 3rd book in the McKades of Texas series and can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I’ve read in this series and didn’t feel like I was missing something by not reading the other two but I liked it some much I want to go back and read them.
Karlie has known the McKades since she was a little girl. Her mother and the McKade’s mother are best friends. She has been in love with Luke McKade since as long as she could remember. He was it for her but he only saw her as a little sister.
After college Karlie is back to do an internship on the McKade ranch and Luke is knocked on his butt on how much he wants her. Can he put his playboy ways aside and grab a hold of love?
I loved this book! It was sweet and Karlie has sass which I love. There are parts that pull your hearts strings but your heart heals in the end. Kimberly Lewis writes a beautiful seamless story. I can’t wait to go back and dive into books 1 and 2!
Luke by Kimberly Lewis is the third book in The McKades of Texas series. This book can be read as a standalone, although if you are anything like me you will want to go back and read the rest.
Karlie has always had eyes for Luke and only Luke. But she knows that he only sees her one way – as a cute, shy little girl. He doesn’t think of her as a woman, as much as she desperately wants him to. However, she has grown up and is ready to disabuse him of the image he has carried around for years.
With a proposition all laid out for him Karlie sets out to get what she wants. But while she is aiming for forever, Luke is working on a temporary basis. Can Karlie change his mind? Or is she destined to have her heart broken after all.
This was the first book I had read in this series and it is one that I enjoyed immensely. I always like stories where the h surprises the H when she has grown into a woman. And poor Luke just didn’t stand a chance. I liked their interaction together, it was believable and well put together. The author really let the story flow well and it was easy to read page after page. I will certainly be going back to add on books 1 & 2.
Luke is book three in the McKade’s of Texas series by Kimberly Lewis. I cannot believe this is the first time I have read this author’s work. I will be rectifying that immediately. What a delightful story this was and I cannot begin to express the complete pleasure I experienced when I read this book.
Luke, the easy going, laid back cowboy that he is, was so enjoyable to read about. The story evolved like a slow burn, building in intensity so sweetly, I savored it like a piece of the finest chocolate money can buy. His story just moved me so intimately. So profoundly. I cannot even explain why or how. Karlie was Luke’s perfect match, and witnessing their blossoming love was a sight to behold. I read until the words blurred, and thought about the characters when I wasn’t reading. From start to finish, these characters owned me. The feeling of complete contentment I experienced was both beautiful and powerful. 5 stars.

Luke is the third book in the McKades of Texas series by Kimberly Lewis. It is a fun, light-hearted and romantic story- with a generous serve of spice that really heats things up. Even though it is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone- but be prepared to find yourself intrigued enough that you will want to go in search of the other two book in the series, too.
I can always count on Ms. Lewis to entertain me- she has a way of enticing you further and further into her stories- getting you hooked and keeping you glued to the pages- right through till the end, and this story was no exception. I fell in love with the characters and found myself investing in them and their story- rooting for them the whole way through.
Karlie is a sassy, confident and determined to get her man. Luke is quite sweet really- but he’s not going to know what hit him when Karlie, all grown up and such a sexy young woman now- comes back into his life. What happens makes for some funny, witty, and very entertaining reading. There were a few times that I wanted to shake Luke and tell him to get his act together, where he frustrated me no end- but it added to the tension and gave the story some added drama.
A great read!
Thank you, Ms. Lewis!
This contemporary romance – all the feels. All of them. It doesn’t get stuck in the western stereotype. The characters are relatable and the plot moves well. This book grabs you on page one and doesn’t let go until it ends. I loved it and cannot wait to go back to read the other books in this series.
Luke (The McKades of Texas #3) by Kimberly Lewis is a sweet contemporary romance story. It has a wonderful mixture of horses, cowboys, and romance. I was drawn in and didn’t want to put it down until the last page. I mean who doesn’t love a beautifully written and sexy smexy cowboy romance. The chemistry between the main characters and their undeniable attraction steam up the pages. She’s known what she’s wanted since she was little. He’s only just realised that she is no longer a little girl. I loved the teasing and the way they interact with each other and it had me laughing out loud. Of course there is a little twist that throws everything in to question but this is a beautiful romance you will not want to miss out on. I am looking forward to reading the next book in a series.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and what an introduction! I loved every minute of this book. It was well written, had a great pace and flow, a brilliant storyline and characters I fell in love with straight away. The chemistry between Karlie and Luke was just amazing and I knew that I would be rooting for them to get their happily ever after all the way through. I LOVED that Karlie was an almost alpha female, definitely made it interesting to read – I don’t often read stories when the female lead is so dominating but I loved it and thought that she was great. She knew what she wanted and that was Luke!
I really liked Luke too, I’m not quite sure he was prepared for Karlie but as I mention before their chemistry was amazing.
The dual point of view definitely added more to this story and probably more for Luke – I felt like I really got to understand him.
This is a definite one click recommendation from me and I can’t wait to read more from Kimberly Lewis in the future.
Luke, by Kimberly Lewis, is the third book in The McKades of Texas. This romantic comedy was a reading pleasure. Karlie and Luke were absolutely hilarious in this story. I enjoyed the setting, it was rustic, heart warming and perfect for the characters. This story made me smile, cry, crack up laughing and sit there in awe. It was such a pleasant read that I couldn’t put it down. Kimberly Lewis is a talented author, it shines through into her work.
Luke: The McKades of Texas Book 3 written by Kimberly Lewis. This is a hot yet cute story about Karlie and Luke. What do you do when the boys you’ve always had a crush on doesn’t see you the way you want to be seen? You make him see you, and then you make a deal with him. But what happens when your time is almost out and summers almost over…Luke sees Karlie, even though she may not know it, she’s hard to miss especially to Luke. Luke is a sweet guy and reading as he and Karlie interact and push each other’s buttons is both cute and entertaining. The ending is just as sweet and romantic as the entire story. Even though there are a few bumps in their road.
I typically do not like Western Romance. I’m from the Northeast and sometimes Western Romance seems so exaggerated that it takes me out of the story. That is NOT the case for Luke.
Book 3 in the McKades of Texas series can absolutely be read as a stand-alone and the secondary characters with previous stories are well explained and there is never any confusion or feeling like you’ve stepped into a story mid-chapter.
The story is light and sweet(ish). It’s low on angst and strong on family and just general good ole’ romance. The characters are simply developed, there is not a ton of complexity which made it a super easy, pleasant read. The story is well plotted and has a very clear beginning, middle and end. There are other characters who intrigued me in this story (what’s up with Cody?) and I will stalk to the author to see if their story gets written.
I recommend this book and happily give it 5 stars.
Luke (The McKades of Texas #3) by Kimberly Lewis was a wicket, fun, hot read that should not have read in 30+ weather.
Oh boy oh boy! Where do I start? I’m going to skip my normal opening rant, lets jump in, shall we?
Right from the opening, Karlie’s voice was clean, and it oozed confidence. When she was recanting her past, you can hear the resolve in her characters voice. She wanted Luke, and she wasn’t going to stop until she had him. She was bold, sassy, and a perfect mix of cowgirl and girl next door. I loved how she fit into the McKade’s family dynamics. How they couldn’t tell she was head over heals for Luke, is it’s own mystery.
Luke, oh Luke you poor soul. He didn’t know what hit him when Karlie walked back into his life, all grown up, and like I said, oozing sexy confidence. I like how the POV switched back a forth because, I loved reading his inner conflicts. Then wanting to smack him silly, and tell him to get over himself. Luckily, Karlie did that for me. I got a kick out him, his smooth banter, cocky ways and of course, the quick fire banter between, not only him and Karlie, but his family. It reminded me of how me and mine get alone.
He wasn’t your typical alpha male, sure he did reek of it, but the way he carried himself, and the respected his showed everyone that deserves it, made him stand out. He wasn’t controlling of Karlie, and at no point did he make her feel lesser then him. He praised her and her dreams. I hate to say it, but he was a true souther gentleman. (I want one!)
Overall this book was, for me, outstandingly good. The writing was smooth and easy to follow. There was a good balanced between dialogue and story telling. No filler, and no lulls; I had this read in on one sitting. Everything was entertaining and kept my mind engaged right until the last page. I would also like to point out, that all side characters were great. Each had their own personality, and voices. They rounded out an already amazing story, and added a layer of complexity making you almost believe that this story did in fact happen.
This book is a super high recommendation from me, it’s that perfect summer read that will have you laughing, grinning, angry, and giddy all at the same time.
Happy Reading

Luke, A McKades of Texas Novel #3, by Kimberly Lewis.
This is a new to me author and I can not wait to read more from her. What more could you possibly ask for??? A sexy cowboy, a woman that has loved him since she was a little girl and now they are working together for the summer. Will Karlie be able to show Luke that she isn’t that little girl anymore and will she make Luke see that commitment, with the right person isn’t so bad. I absolutely loved this book and I can not wait for more!!!!
This is the third book in this series but can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this story, it pulled me into the story with ease and held my attention to the end. Karlie and Luke have such chemistry that I found myself hoping they would find their HEA. What will happen when Karlie makes a proposition to Luke that he can’t refuse? Is this just a fling or is it something more? They are great characters, connectable and lovable. I highly recommend this book.

The story Luke (The McKades of Texas #3) by Kimberly Lewis is a contemporary romance book. It has a wonderful mixture of horses, cowboys, and romance. Once I started reading this book I was drawn in and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved the characters of Karlie Kyle and Luke McKade. Karlie is a young woman who is good working with horses. She is beautiful, sassy, and a tomboy. She has always had feelings for Luke that have never gone away or been revealed. Luke works on the family farm. He has never been one to date or commit to a relationship. Once he sees the young woman that Karlie has become he finds himself unable to stop thinking about her. He also begins to have feelings that he has never had for another before. I loved reading about how they banter and flirt with each other. There are some scenes between them that will make the temperature rise in the room. The attraction/chemistry between them is undeniable. They agree to a no-commitment/no-strings summer fling. What will happen when their emotions turn it into more than that? Will Karlie get Luke forever as she has always wanted? Read this book to find out what happens and if this couple end up with broken hearts or an HEA. There are many other characters that you are introduced to in this story. There is a feeling of warmth and family when you read about them. I loved reading about the way that they interact with each other, Karlie, and Luke. The teasing that goes on had me with a smile on my face and sometimes laughing out loud. This is a well-written book that any lover of romance will not want to miss out on. It is the third book in a series and I am looking forward to reading the next one.
