Have you ever loved someone who is completely wrong for you? God knows I have. But in my defense, I fell for Megan Warner years before my older brother Eli ever noticed her, before he asked her out and made her his. During the two years they were together, I would’ve given anything to be with Meg, anything except for losing my brother, my best friend, in a horrible accident when he was only … accident when he was only eighteen.
Not a day goes by that I don’t miss Eli or think about the stupid mistake Meg and I made after his funeral, before she disappeared.
After four long years without a word, Megan has moved back to Cary, North Carolina but she’s not alone.
She has a three-year-old son.
My mom swears the boy with golden curls and blue eyes is Eli’s, and she’s so damn happy to get back a piece of the son she lost. But I can’t help but wonder if she’s wrong.
In fact, I think there’s a pretty good chance that Megan’s son is actually mine.

Coming Home is Never Easy But So Worth It!
Lane Hart’s “Luke,” Book 8 in the Cocky Cage Fighters MMA romance series, is an emotional rollercoaster. The title character is an MMA fighter training with the Havoc crew. He’s handsome, sexy, and dedicated to his parents and his gym family. After losing his brother in a tragedy that they haven’t really recovered from, Luke is thrown for a loop when the love of his life – and his dead brother’s girlfriend – returns to town after years away. Single mom Megan comes home carrying a huge secret that could threaten the life she’s trying to build for herself and her young son. When they decide to submit to the long-buried feelings and intense attraction to one another, the chemistry is off-the-charts hot. Their HEA isn’t easily won, nor is it guaranteed, and there is so much they have to work through in order to make it happen. As always, new and old characters add richness to the story, and I love the flaws of each and every one. Sexy bits, MMA action, and all the things I look forward to in this series are present and accounted for. So much love for those Cocky Cage Fighters!
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy another book from the Cocky Cage Fighters and this could only mean a hot as hell book. Oh yeah super hot. Have you read the other 7 books, yes I said 7 and I want more, from this series? If you have read them you know why I was so excited and happy for this one, if you haven’t oh girl you don’t know what you are missing… Just saying…
Has everyone knows Lane Hart has a sweet, simple and super hot writing that will leave you wanting more, I really know what I’m saying because I’ve read a bunch of books written by her and I still want more. OK, I confess, I’m a gready girl and very proud of it.
This new book tells the story of Luke and Megan.
Luke is a fighter with a heavy past. He lost his brother in an accident and he misses him terribly every single day. He was in love with Megan and this could be an easy love but the fact that she was with her brother made her forbidden. On the day that his brother was buried they get back together for one night of passion. What will happen?
Megan was a happy girl in love, but when he lost his life in a car accident she thought that her life would end until she reconnects with Luke and they get involved. She opted to leave her town and never come back but after 4 years she returns but she isn’t alone…
And let’s talk about a bumpy ride, oh boy…
This book is so intense, so amazing, so breathtaking that I can’t find the proper word to describe this, I really can’t.
I’m not surprised that this book was freaking amazing, because let’s face it, coming from this amazing author I wouldn’t have expected less. Oh boy you are creating a monster Lane Hart, I hope you’re aware of that. Just saying…
I loved the plot, the characters, the ups and downs. I’ve cried, I’ve laughed, I was pissed, I was mad and hot as hell. Jeez so hot because those sex scenes were… yummy.
And what a better way to end a book and found out that we will have another one from this series. I’m so happy because I’ll be able to meet new characters and also keep up with the lifes of the other ones.
This book had just about one of the SWEETEST HEA endings ever!!!
Luke was in love with Megan all through his teenage years. Unfortunately she was older…. and dating his brother, Eli. Eli later died in a car wreck so both Meg and Luke were heart broken. Not to mention that Meg felt totally undesirable since it turned out that Eli was gay. When Luke went to check on her, because she did not show up to the funeral, they consoled each other (if you know what I mean). A couple days later Meg was gone.
4 years later Meg comes back with a 3 year old son. Since she had dated Eli for so long before he died, everyone thought that Lennox was his son. Everyone except Luke. (and Nate) Megan goes along with the story that he is Eli’s son. Eventually Luke discovers the truth. Working their way back after that, not going to be easy.
They only thing that I was kind of bummed about with this book was the lack of voyeurism. We previously learned that Luke likes to watch, and be watched. I had thought that there would be more of that in his story. But the lack of it didn’t take away from the greatness. On more than one occasion I found myself tearing up a little, and also getting mad at the characters.
Love Lane Hart Cage Fighter series, Luke and Megan story is so emotional, when you read the book it’s like your on this rollercoaster with them, you feel their heartbreak, anger, guilt, deceit then you consider their ages, Megan a few years older and Luke being 20 and not dealing well with any of his emotions he is feeling for Megan makes him come across as not the sweet caring guy we seen in Senn & Abby story. Lane Hart did great job writing this book and ended it with a sweet HEA for Luke, Megan and Lennox.
Luke by Lane Hart a heart-breaking five-star read. This is the eighth book in the Cocky cage fighter series, but they can all be read as stand-alone reads. I have read them as the series flows, Jax, Jude, Linc, Mace, Senn, Nate Trick and then Luke with Alex coming next, I am waiting with bated breath for Alex. I have loved each and every book individually but as a series they go from strength to strength, you see all of the Havok boys and girls popping up in each other’s stories giving us more history and depth to each character. It’s like trying to pick a favourite child picking a favourite book, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. Reasons just like the men they are named after for being who they are and the stories they tell.
Luke has always lived in the shadow of his older brother, feeling the guilt for being in love with his brother’s girlfriend, and a mistake he made the night of his funeral. The guilt of her running away and not returning until years later. Felling like he can’t move on as if he does he wouldn’t ever live up to his memory, knowing his mother would never be whole again if he ever left her behind. Life is just ticking along, never changing in some ways he’s still the same 4 years later, never able to move on. Until she returns and shakes his life up in ways that he can never imagine.
Megan Warner left town four years ago, after the disaster that was her boyfriend of 2 years funeral, she has always felt like everyone leaves, no one loves her enough to care about her, apart from her aunt who took her in when she needed it most. But even she left a number of years ago. Her deceased boyfriend didn’t even love her enough to be true with her, and her parents have shown their true colours. Meg has one good thing in her life, but if she ever revealed the truth her life would never be the same again. But will she find out that sometimes when the truth is put life can move on and start again.
This was a great second chance story, one of love and forgiveness, heart-ache and loss. Just because you know something to be true doesn’t make it a less bitter pill to swallow. True love doesn’t always run smooth, and when it doesn’t it just makes for a better story.
I don’t know how Lane does it but each book in this series just keeps getting better than the last and this one definitely did not disappoint. This was a heartbreakingly beautiful story that definitely pulled at your heart strings and sent you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. I fell head over heels for Lennox and the bond he formed with Luke. As for the relationship between Luke and Meghan all I can say is….aarrggh! If you want a read that will have you so drawn into the story this is the book for you! Good luck trying to put it down…. not possible!
