She married him to save her family. He married her out of duty. What happens when she breaks the rules and falls in love? It was a marriage of convenience. After Lucy Wallace’s parents died tragically, she needed to secure a future for herself and her younger sister. So, when her father’s business partner, Will Arlington, offers to marry her and take her sister in as his own, she says yes. Lucy … in as his own, she says yes.
Lucy knows what’s expected of her in exchange for Will saving them from ruin—to provide a home and family for him. But a child is the one thing Lucy is never able to give her husband, and soon they sleep in different rooms and lead separate lives.
Then one day, Lucy witnesses something that changes everything, and she fears her darkest secret may come to light. Because she’s done the one thing that was forbidden from the moment she said I Do. She fell in love with her husband.
Can she make the impossible choice… stay in her loveless marriage or break her heart by leaving?

This is one truly emotional romance.
Can I say how much I have loved this series?
Lucy has done everything for her husband, Will, and her younger sister, Kimi. But when Kimi comes home from college, Lucy is rudely woken up to the fact that her marriage isn’t as happy or normal as she thought it was. The problem is that both she and Will have learned to adapt to life as it is and neither one knows how to ask for what they want or need. It truly is an emotional read that has you hoping things work out for them right up to the end.
This is the third book in the Forbidden Romance series and it is just as good as the first two. It can be read as a standalone but I wouldn’t really suggest it as there are crossover characters from each book.

Have you ever wondered how many ladies married yet are innocence about what the physical part of marriage? My Great Grandmother would tell me about her life back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s she lived under strict rules and young ladies married with no real understandings really a shame so believe it or not the lady in this story is rather realistic. How people felt about Native Americans and half-breeds (a terrible term) was realistic too. I really enjoyed the book and I highly recommend it. Lucy’s Awakening – Brook Stanton – Some books would be over before they started if the main characters just had enough guts to have one honest conversation. I mean they are already married. What harm would it do to tell the man you marries that you don’t think he’s gross? Lol! But then you wouldn’t have a story! Happy Reading!
Watching Lucy’s transformation was worth the read. What she went through in her young life shaped how she responded to her relationships. Touching story.
Whew! From start to finish, this book is a page turner! Love the ending. If you’re into the West and romance with a bit of family squabble, I Recommend this author!
Book three in the series Forbidden Romance it is well-written and I enjoyed reading this story. Lucy Wallace and Will Arlington get married as a convenience for Lucy so she can keep her sister Kimi who is a half breed. But these two have to talk to each other and after ten years they still are not doing so. They have a lot to deal with before they can have there happy ending. This book was so so. Very weird and probably won’t read another by this author.
It was an OK book, and I did finish it, but I probably wouldn’t buy it again.
The heroine was too unrealistic to believe. I put it down before I finished it. No one can be that naive.
Lucy’s Awakening (Book 3 Forbidden Romance) by Brooke Stanton
Lucy’s Awakening is a great addition to the series! I really enjoyed the story line and the characters.
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.”
“In order to accept love from another, you must first love yourself.”
I do recommend and this series.
If you have read either of the first 2 books in this series, then you must read Lucy’s Awaking. Even if you haven’t read them, I highly recommend you read this one. Lucy was taught that sex was only meant to be used to have babies, and that it was only for the man’s pleasure. And she embraced this concept with her whole being. So this is about Lucy’s sexual awakening. How she comes to learn more about sex between man and wife, and how this journey leads her to discover a deeper understanding about her mother, her friend Josephine, her sister Kimi, but most of all her husband. The book has a sub story about prejudice and the treatment of Native Americans. It is a well told story and a story that many women can no doubt relate to.

The good storyline and well detailed characters made this book a real pleasure to read! I look forward to reading more from this author!
I haven’t read from this author before so I don’t know how her books read but this story had way too much drama for me. Basically Lucy takes her sister’s words to heart and this whole story Lucy believes her husband Will is stepping out or being unfaithful to her. Lucy’s mind set is to make Will happy, if he’s happy she’s happy but her mother messed her up big time, ‘a women’s role is to make her husband happy and the only time a wife lays with her husband is to reproduce. Lucy still hurts from the death of her father, a marriage of convenience being told she is barron, now possibly Will is cheating since he bearly at home spending days, weeks months ways from her for the family business but when he’s back in town he’s staying at the inn i. Town then his home in the county. Lucy thinks will want the perfect wife but never realizing he wants a emotional woman that shows her spit fire, grief, heck passion he wants but he momma messed up Lucy’s thinking. The whole story was in Lucy’s POV and I would have really like to read Will’s POV.
