Life dealt him a dead man’s hand.
Lucky had always led a life of service. Always put his life on the line for someone else, managing to survive by pure luck and skill. After bringing an end to a multi-state drug ring, he was finally able to live the life he had wanted as a Last Rider…
A good man would walk away and not touch the curvy woman who had been tugging on his heartstrings. Lucky … heartstrings. Lucky wasn’t a good man. Therefore, the bad-ass biker in him had a choice: once again become the man he had pretended to be and stake his claim, or take the devil’s highway.
Some girls had all the luck.
Willa wasn’t one of them. All she wanted to do was give a home to the children she had made orphans. Instead, she found herself needing help from the man who had left the pulpit behind to embrace a life of sin.
Painfully shy and withdrawn she wanted a quiet life, a simple man, and well-behaved children. The last thing she had ever expected was for Lucky to want her size twenty body and show her a passion that would lead her straight to hell.

4.5 Stars! Lucky’s Choice is book seven in the MC series The Last Riders, and a series I’ve come to enjoy a lot. While this book has some action, it has a lot to do with inner turmoil, and emotional pain.
Summary:
Lucky has walked a long and lonely road for a long time. He only ever wanted to live his life in service to God, being a good man that could be there for others and share his faith. Joining the military was both a blessing and a curse for a man like him. He was never afraid to put his life on the line, getting through by the skin of his teeth and a bit of luck. But serving his country took so much more from him than he could ever imagine. After all he had gone through and endured, he’s finally able to put his service to his country aside and lead the life he’s always wanted with his brothers in leather. But Lucky soon realizes that the life he always wished for would have one glaring absence. The curvy woman he couldn’t keep off his mind. A good man would walk away, but Lucky never considered himself good. Willa is struggling through life, trying to keep the family of children she’s fostering together as a family. As with most things in her life it’s not going smoothly and having to accept help from the sinfully attractive man that hides his true nature behind a charming facade, is the last thing she wants to do. But what choice does she have? Can Lucky show Willa he wants her for who she is, and that the passion they share can lead to a sweet heaven on Earth?
I loved Lucky and Willa! I was afraid that my heightened anticipation would have disappointed me when I actually got to read it, but it wasn’t like that at all. Willa was a refreshing heroine. She is like a lot of our Last Rider heroines in that she is sweet, loving, giving, thoughtful, and selfless, but she’s also feisty, shy, open-minded, and an excellent cook. I hated that she felt guilty about Lewis, but I loved how hard she worked to keep the children a family and give them stability. She struggled, but her heart was in the right place. It was surprising she saw through Lucky when he was undercover, but just like her. My favorite part was when she went off on The Last Riders in the kitchen. It was hilarious. Lucky was great. Since his identity was revealed we’ve seen his struggle, but in this book it’s more detailed and heartbreaking. Lucky was a hero, and he deserved nothing less than to have the life he wanted, the whole life he wanted. I did think that he got away with others telling Willa most of his secrets when he should have had to, like the other men, but it all still worked. Lucky and Willa’s relationship was sexy and sweet. I had a love/hate relationship with how Lucky remained in denial about Willa so long. The sex was hot, but I think I wanted more with his knives and Willa. I’m also glad Willa found her place in the club, but I wanted her to take a bit more risk, like the other women. I have to say that I really loved Shade in this book. I really want a book on Train and Killyama. They have fascinated me these last few books. I also want Rider to find his one. I feel like Evie fell out of the books. I’d like to see more of her. And I will miss Bliss. Hopefully she will get a book. Maybe she can be the perfect match for one of the Porters! We got a bigger look at Crazy Bitch, too, and I’d really like a book on her and Calder. Overall, this was a great book, and I really love our characters. I cannot wait for more, and I’m eagerly stalking social media for what’s next. <3
This is my favorite of The Last Riders, though admittedly I’m irritated with Lucky through 1/2 the book….but only cause he’s being a stupid man. LOL! Lucky is running away from who he is, and Willa is shy and has no self-esteem. But when he finally steps up and when she finds her voice – it’s my absolute favorite part of the book, and the whole book is great, however it gets even better from there. Lucky & Willa are perfect for each other. Jamie Begley wrote this book brilliantly.
Willa. This girl has been a golden egg through the other books with her baking and her reactions and sweetness and oh my god she is a lovely sweet woman and she is one of my favourite characters.
Lucky. Has always been a favourite for me, and we find out so much more about the mystery that is Lucky and I loved it. I also thought at times I really don’t know he managed to be a Pastor (Fun fact: So I work at a nursery that is based in my local church. When I first heard this word I thought it meant like actual pasta… I don’t know what this says about me.) because damn so many times through this Lucky lost his cool but you know I forgive him because he’s a special little egg that needs protecting at all times. Along with Willa obviously.

OMG!!! I REALLY loved this book! This is my very first Jamie Begley book and I just happened across it because someone on one of my facebook reading groups recommended it.
I have to say when I started it I had my doubts. I avoid reading cheating books and since i had not read any others in the series I thought it might be one. It kind of started right on the edge of that. Plus it was REALLY wilder than some of my typical reads. Also, Lucky started out as a pretty big jerk so I almost quit a little ways in. But I really loved Willa a lot and really related to her character in a lot of ways. I am so glad I stuck with it because this ended up being a fantastic read and now I cannot wait to go back and devour the rest of the series!!
Will and Lucky were an amazing couple and the way that he ends up showing her the many ways he loves her just melted my heart! Plus he gave her a confidence that she had never had and let her grow into a strong woman! I absolutely loved this book!
Lucky is local pastor, a member of the Last Riders MC, Navy seal and undercover DEA agent.
Willa is the proper good girl. Great read
I really did enjoy this book but if I’m totally honest I was a little disappointed. After waiting so long for Lucky and Willa’s story I felt a little let down. I am an avid Jamie Begley fan and love the Last Riders series. It’s hard for me to articulate exactly what disappointed me but here goes.

Catching up with all of the characters from previous stories
Lucky was willing to give up the club for Willa but didn’t have to. I would have hated it if he left it for good.
Lucky’s love of Willa without any prejudices about her size, especially the fact he gets mad when she puts herself down.
No sharing for them
Not so much
Felt very uncomfortable at times reading bible verses while reading about things that definitely are “sinful”. I could get the fact that Lucky struggles with his faith and the club but that seemed to go away when he returned to the club.
Willa was, at first, too insecure and then at the last OTT with her controlling nature
The “pirate” sex scene was a little OTT and seemed contrived.
Like I said, a good book in the series but not my favorite.
I loved this book.
I truly LOVED this book to pieces! Romance, humor, angst, secret revelations, danger, hot lovin’ and a cast of characters we have grown to love and love to hate… this book has it all! Lucky and Willa are my new favorite Hero & heroine of the series!!
Lucky… The first half of the book, he came across as a grade A a**hole. He meant to, I know, but it was a bit tough for me to get through at times. He went the manwh***-do-what-I-think-is-best-for-her-route and surprise, surprise… it didn’t work. Meaningless sex (albeit exciting kink), unkind words spoken and denial reigned supreme. BUT when we hit that second part… it was glorious and was just what I needed. The secrets you found out about his past helped to explain so much and gave great insight to how he became the man he is today- loving, protective, honorable… a man who would put his woman’s needs above all others. Not to mention he made EVERY fantasy come true for Willa! *le sigh*
Willa… For me, she easily takes the cake as the strongest heroine. She started out so painfully shy, self-conscious, self-deprecating and so full of guilt in the first half of the book. While she carried a little bit of that with her into the second half of the story, she blossomed into something amazing. Her backbone began to strengthen, her courage grew, her faith remained firm and she found that soul-touching love that she deserved. Her incredibly AWESOME blow-up at the clubhouse, her secret “alternate income”, the comments she muttered under her breath and the way she stuck it to Jenna provided some of the best and funniest moments in the book and are just a few reasons why I am her #1 cheerleader.
Lucky and Willa had the strongest relationship because they literally gave up everything for each other. Both did some give and take and compromised their way into the best kind of relationship. It was beautiful! I adored them and can’t wait to see them in future books!
Thank you to Rider, Shade, the Biker B****es and of course Lucky and Willa for providing some of the most hilarious moments in the story! They were priceless!! And as for what happened to Bliss… THANK YOU even more Jamie Begley. FINALLY, it happened. 🙂
I also LOVED the fact that Awolnation’s “Sail” was playing during one of the parties. I would love to learn more about the specific songs that you can find playing on a Friday night in the clubhouse!
Cannot wait for more books in the series! Looking forward to possibly Tate’s and Train’s/Killyama’s books next!! *fingers crossed*
ANOTHER BRILLIANT BOOK !!!
Okay, I wasn’t real thrilled with him when he was changing women everytime he took a piss. Seriously, too much. Willa is FABULOUS! She is a strong woman just hiding behind a cupcake. In all seriousness, Lucky’s Choice was by far my favorite. Lucky’s struggle continuing to be part of the MC and being a Paster. God is a huge part of him and the struggle truly touching. It’s not the clothes you wear to church it is the fact that you showed up that matters. I loved how Lucky handled Willa, so much love and consideration along with honesty and commitment. Willa’s relationship with Lucky was respect, strength, compromise, and love as she helped him find peace in his life choices.
It definitely puts things in a different perspective. It was the type of story you never want to put down. You want to cry, scream, laugh and even throw something. You just really didn’t know what was going to come next. The scenes were written with taste and class. I truly hope Ms. Begley continues writing this series. I am looking forward to reading Train and Riders stories. I love when she adds new characters because when Moon’s story get here, it should be entertaining. Yes, Lord!!!!!
