If Lucky O’Toole, chief problem solver for the Babylon, Vegas’ primo Strip property, knows one thing—where money goes, trouble follows.
So, when the NFL announces it’s moving a team to Vegas, Lucky is left on the fence until the trouble she feared lands in her lap.
Nolan Ponder, one of the key players in the negotiations to get the NFL to Sin City, staggers into the Babylon covered in blood and … blood and holding a knife.
With the mountains of money and careers on the line, Lucky figured someone would try to kill the deal.
But murder?
Chasing down a murderer is the last thing she needs.
Teddie, her former live-in lover is exploiting every angle to get back into her heart.
Jean-Charles, her fiancé, is planning a trip to France to introduce Lucky to his family.
Mona, her mother, still hasn’t named her twins.
Lucky’s life is quickly becoming a game of murder and mayhem.
She just hopes this game won’t go into overtime.

This book started with a bang (well okay with a knife) and didn’t let up until the last page. If you can’t tell I really enjoyed this book and think this is Deborah’s best Luck OToole book so far and really hope she has plans to release it as an audiobook too, as I will definitely be buying that version too.
Okay why did I like it so much…….as normal great characters but this time I really enjoyed the mystery and had no clue what was going on or what was going to happen next, it was also mixed in with some very funny moments that you just had to laugh at. Lucky and the gang have great problems keeping a casino running smoothly (keeping hookers out, NFL super star’s happy) while at he same time solve a murder of a senator, which proves to be very hard when you don’t know who to trust.
“Lucky Score” wasn’t as an ‘easy-to-read’ book in this series as others have been. I had confusion as to how old Lucky really is. i.e. pg 3 says Bethany is 17; pg2 says Lucky is twice her age (34); pg3 says Lucky has been in the ‘business’ for 4 decades (40’s?) then pg 57 says Lucky is in her early 30’s. It just messed with my mind a little. And then this book had too many characters to follow. It did make for the who/why to be a little more challenging, but some of the in-between action seemed to be thrown in without reason. Maybe I was just tired when I read parts of it and my mind didn’t make connections well. Lucky still has the dilemma of her choice of men, the angst over her mother, the health of her dad, and now new people in her life to ‘worry’ about as she continues her journey. What’s next for Lucky? I hope I don’t have to wait too long.
I read anything by Debbie. It guaranteed a great read
The ‘Lucky’ books are always fun and a good read either on the beach or tucked in by the fire.
If you like mysteries with a little humor and people with interesting personalities, you will enjoy these books. Read them in order. I can’t wait for the next installment.
As a former resident of Las Vegas for many years, a great deal of the enjoyment I get from reading a Lucky book is the backdrop of Las Vegas. The author does a great job of capturing the essence of the town – the good, the bad, the ugly, the excessiveness, the magic, the fantasy and my favorite mention, the beautiful Chihuly glass! Thank you to the author for acknowledging the horrible mass shooting – an event that has forever impacted the history of Las Vegas. The sports memorabilia aspect in the book also keeps the story fresh and contemporary.
Lucky has a lot on her plate in this book! As if her personal life isn’t in enough flux, the job is getting very complicated. A high-profile man in town appears in her hotel lobby wielding a knife and covered in blood – but the blood is not his. So where is the victim? WHO is the victim? From the opening paragraph, the pace of this book is as fast as Lucky’s Ferrari! There are plenty of suspects and everyone seems to have their own angle.
The author’s books are always well written and sophisticated – a quality read. I love the new cover art! As always, I’m looking forward to Lucky’s next adventure.
I enjoyed the first four or five books better. The characters were wonderful, there was a lot of humor and a lot of adventure. I feel like the stories are becoming too forced. I do love her writing and use of wordplay.
Lucky to have found Lucky! Great series
Enjoyed this Lucky Series. Can’t wait to read more of them. Good characters and liked the lead character and her funny attitude.
I’m new to this series, but have enjoyed it so far. Sometimes I feel like I’m a bit lost or have missed something because occasionally the author will jump around too much. But still very enjoyable, I look forward to continuing it.
I have enjoyed other books in this series, but I have to say this one was not one of them. The storyline felt disjointed and to go on longer then it needed to. The Big Boss and Mona seemed out of character. And Lucky was off.
There has not been a Lucky o’Tooke book I haven’t loved. Great characters, good twists and and so much fun to read.
I like the Lucky series. This one seemed depressing rather than fun. Maybe Lucky needs a trip to Paris to lighten up a bit!?
Very easy cute, funny books to read!
I LOVE LUCKY
