I’ve always been the person that does whatever someone tells me I can’t. Can’t graduate with a four-point-oh? Check. Can’t win a modeling contract without trying? Did it. Check. Can’t make it in the pro football league? Triple check with an MVP Award on top. When my best friend told me to stay away from his little sister, Layla, it didn’t sound like a challenge. Then again, I’d never seen her before. again, I’d never seen her before.
He obviously wasn’t thinking about who he was talking to if he believed I could ignore her. I obviously wasn’t thinking of him at all when I fell in love with her either.
Fact of the matter is: I not only fell harder than a quarterback sack on a Sunday night game, but I did us one better. Kind of like that MVP award, only not so shiny. Sort of like my Player of the Year title, except the only thing I’m walking away with is an ex-best friend and a woman that hates my guts.
It’s okay. Just tell me I can’t win her back.
I’m Branch “Lucky” Best and today’s my lucky day.
*This is a STANDALONE ROMANCE.

This was my first book by Adriana Locke.
I wasn’t a fan of the beginning if I’m being honest. There was a lot of unwarranted sexual advances and jokes which confused me but I love the development of the story and the characters!!!! It pulled together really nicely and it sucked me in!
Truly a page turner, loved Layla and Best and how they became a couple
Wonderful story that I highly recommend. A more realistic romance novel than I have read recently with great characters and supportive friends and family. Will be reading more from Adriana Locke.
This was one of those stories where I thought I knew exactly what was going to happen but there was a twist I didn’t see coming. It didn’t play out at all like I expected but I really enjoyed it. Layla was immediately likeable and although I wasn’t a big Branch fan at first, I did warm up to him later on. There was instant attraction between the two but Branch’s best friend happens to be Layla’s brother and he made it clear she was off-limits for the playboy. They were on fire at first then everything changes.
They both saw this as no-strings-attached fun but they’re both left wanting more and both running scared, for different reasons. Layla’s breakup is still fresh and she’s sworn off athletes because they’re all playboys but she can’t get him out of her mind. Branch has never wanted more so his continuing interest in her is baffling and a bit scary. Eventually they’re both forced to confront their feelings and fess up to the other because the stakes are higher than they ever could have imagined and they have some tough decisions to make. Layla is worried he’ll break her heart and Branch is, too. He doesn’t think he’s capable of treating her right.
There are a lot of obstacles for this couple including Layla’s douchey ex (who’s still living rent free in her head) and her brother, Finn, plus the media frenzy surrounding on of the NFL’s most popular bachelors. Branch was sweet and sexy at first, then kind of a jackass but he came around. Layla is sassy and tough while Branch is bit more sarcastic so the banter is great.
The supporting characters in the story are Finn and Layla’s BFF Poppy, who went from friends-with-benefits to being Finn’s girlfriend. Poppy brings the comic relief and Finn causes some of the angst but it works. These characters add a lot to the story so I’d love to read their book. I only wish this was longer because it’s a fun story with an unexpected twist and I enjoyed it very much.
“OMG Branch!” I really enjoyed this book. Loved the chemistry between Branch and Layla. This is a new author for me, but I definitely want to read more of her books.
Ahh! I just love Locke and her characters! Lucky number 11 was incredibly Sexy with all the feels and will have you rolling in laughter! Oh my all those innuendos, they were epic! I loved Best and his charming ways! He was Swoon-worthy and an idiot at times but he really melted my heart! Layla was a sassy sweetheart! I loved their weekend and all the chaos that followed! Poppy left me dead so many times! Omg, I’ve never loved a secondary character so much! She is too much! I can’t wait to read her story! A perfect read! I was so excited when I won the book in a giveaway!

Another wonderful story. I started this book and could not put it down. I loved every minute of it !!! I can’t wait for the next one.
This story is so cute and sexy! I didn’t expect to feel as many feels as I did, but brace yourselves, because the author sure does pack an emotional punch with this one. I loved seeing these characters grow and find their strength, both together and apart. The way the hero and heroine overcame their struggles felt true to life for people of their age and situation, and it was truly satisfying to see their story come together the way it did. Their chemistry was also very believable (and very hot!) This was my first read from the author, and definitely won’t be my last.
I really enjoyed this book so much ,i can not wait to read all of her books i loved Adriana Locke’s writing 🙂
Oh My God i am in love with Branch Best ! he is sexy and fun and he’s smart and so caring ,i loved when he first met Layla ! their chemistry is off the charts and from the moment they set eyes on each other you know it’s going down ! they set the pages on fire and omg i am getting all hot and bothered just thinking about them ! they make such a great couple and they found something that they weren’t even looking for with each other !
I love Layla ,she’s sassy and fun and i loved when she gets with Branch ! they are pretty perfect for one another and they face some issues that neither one of them were ready for but they make the best of it and it turns out that it was one of the greatest things to happen to either of them 🙂 they make a great little family and i love love love them together !
Love the side characters ,can’t wait to read Poppy and Finn’s book !
This book just made me so happy and i enjoyed it so much !
I love all of Adriana’s books that I have read.
This is a dual POV stand alone and it was so good.
Sexy hot quarterback Branch and his best friend’s little sister Layla make one hot sexy beast of a romance. I loved it!!
Great story by Adriana Locke! I loved Layla and Branch in this story’s unique mix of sports and brother’s best-friend romance with a little surprise in the middle. Can’t wait to read more of his series!
A nice down to earth romance novel. I enjoyed how their friendship and relationship grew. Wonderful characters and a very easy read.
I am really loving Adriana’s books! Every time she surprises me and every time I am loving her stories that I can’t seem to get enough of. This book was no different and definitely a read that you won’t be able to put down. I loved the chemistry between Layla and Branch! A touchdown for me 🙂
Layla doesn’t seem to have any luck with guys, especially jocks and she has had enough of always being put aside for someone else. When she and her best friend Poppy go up to the cabin, her brother is there too with “wide receiver” Branch Best. And even though she tries her hardest not to fall for his charms, it’s hard not to. Branch has no trouble to get dates and sticks to his one-night stands but when he lays eyes on Layla, he just knows that she’s different. But despite their feelings something keeps them apart and when something happens they can’t control, they will have to make a decision that will change their lives forever….
Loved how this book incorporates gossip online News flashes throughout the book. Finn and Branch are best friends both successful NFL player both on the field and off. Layla is Finns little sister who’s heart had been broken by Callum a quarterback who cheated on her. She and her friend Poppy are getting away to help Layla forget when they all four end up at Finn’s and Layla’s family cabin. The rest is a great story of trust, friendships, loyalty, laughter, love and football. This book makes you feel and the story has a very surprising ending. Definitely a five star read.
Enjoyable read, there was humor, drama and a sweet HEA.
Branch Best is, in a word, SIZZLINGHAWT (that’s a word…right?!)!!! I fell TOTALLY and COMPLETELY in love with Adriana Locke’s newest addition to MY BBF collection! Of course, it took a little bit, but after realizing that under that “Ho-boy” exterior (you know…the playboy, male-slut, will sleep with almost ANY available female) beats a heart-of-gold and I was soooooo done!!!
I LOVED the chemistry between Branch and Layla! The back and forth banter had me laughing out loud and the SWOONY, panty-melting sex scenes were….well, he IS the BEST after all!! There was even a little angst and drama thrown in to the mix that kept me on my toes!
All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves to laugh, fall in love and enjoy outrageous banter!! 5 heart-melting, SEXY stars from me!!!
Lucky Number Eleven is a wonderful read. I loved the way the story started with a gossip column clip and evolved into a truly deep and moving romance. This story, of stereotypical athletes and the women who adore them is not stereotypical at all.
The way Adrianna Locke crafted a light-hearted, flirtatious hook-up into a story of self-discovery is genius. The characters were all strong. I liked all but one. Their personalities are relatable and so much fun. In real life I would have wanted to be friends with them.
The characters are fun-loving, witty and intelligent.
However, the thing that kept me riveted was the dynamics of the relationships these characters had with each other. The tests that their relationships endure are life-altering and fascinating.
I loved The balance between light-heartedness and serious that Adrianna Locke has created in Lucky Number Eleven. It is one of the most fun and well-written books I have read this year.
I love me some Adriana Locke and I have got to tell you that Lucky Number Eleven exceeded all my expectations!! Touchdown!!
Branch “Lucky” Best and Layla James Miller, who happens to be Branch’s best friends sister, take us on the journey of two people who are just taking some time to chill at the family vacation house. Branch and Layla have undeniable chemistry from the start and I immediately fell in love with their story.
What I didn’t expect was what happened between Branch and Layla. I was so surprised (and I won’t spoil it for you).
“Nothing is random and nothing is coincidence. Everything is running on a schedule, a pattern that we don’t see or control.”
I have to tell you, I love some good secondary characters and Finn and Poppy take the cake! They were just as much fun as Branch and Layla and completely made the story that much more!! And the relationship between all four of the friends, priceless!!
Lucky Number Eleven was a sweet, fun story with a bit of WHAT-JUST-HAPPENED to the OMG, I WANT POPPY FOR MY BFF and also had a whole load of one liners that had my laughing! I highly recommend one-clicking this gem!
I’m a HUGE fan of Adriana Locke. She stole my heart with the Landry’s. Lucky Number Eleven is a stand alone. It tells the story of Branch “Lucky” Best a star wide receiver who’s living the playboy life. He and his best friend Finn take a weekend trip to Finn’s family vacation home and quickly find out they’re sharing the house with Finn’s sister Layla and her best friend Poppy. Sparks fly when Branch and Layla meet. Neither are looking for a relationship just a fun weekend.
I loved the humor and personalities of both Branch and Layla. I thought they played off each other so well. Poppy stole the show for me. I was laughing out loud at her antics and sense of humor. I love when a writer can develop secondary characters so well that they are loved just as much as the main characters. Five stars!!!
Adriana Locke scores a touchdown with this book about a cocky football player and a no nonsense girl who isn’t willing to get involved with another NFL superstar.
This was a great, easy, fun-filled read. It’s filled with emotion without being overly heavy, and it will keep you interested from beginning to end.
Layla James, sister to NFL star Finn has already learned the hard way that athletes are no good for her heart. Finn has already warned his best friend Branch Best to stay away, but do these two listen….of course not. Sparks fly and so does the drama!! Layla and Branch are trying to hide things from Finn, Finn and Layla’s best friend Poppy have a sneaky thing going, and it’s a wild ride to the end.
I haven’t met a book from this author that I haven’t loved and this one is no different, I definitely recommend it!!
