Didn’t keep my focus. Main character was super annoying. It’s really annoying because I can see the potential for a great book there. But this book annoyed me more than it entertained me.
Gia the main character really showed the fact she was 18, and she was very immature which I didn’t like. When she was first introduced to Jack her bodyguard she went to dumb land and just began fawning over how hot he was. This isn’t the only time she does this, when she meets Milo it’s very insta love and I didn’t like it, I felt like I didn’t really know Gia’s character she got on my nerves and I honestly didn’t connect with her at all. Not only that when her boyfriend left to go to Texas she didn’t seem that bothered, for someone she loves she just didn’t seem bothered. She just seemed always panicky that her father would tell her
She just seemed always panicky that her father would tell her off, when anything serious happened it was just my dad will tell me off. Like for example when she finds out she is being stalked and getting creepy messages, she didn’t want to tell her dad. She had no concern for her safety throughout the book and just seemed to not care.
Gia’s friendships were basic, I don’t know if this was because she was rich but she wasn’t close to them she didn’t seem to tell them what was going off in the stalking situation, she didn’t seem bothered she couldn’t tell them the truth. So I didn’t like the friendship it wasn’t explored enough in my opinion.
Jack was her bodyguard we didn’t know much about him which slightly annoyed me all we was told is that he’s hot and childish stuff. What I did like about Jack was that he was funny, his jokes I couldn’t stop laughing. Other than that he was also pretty basic.
Here comes my major problem with the whole book and this is what made it a bad book for me. The topic was about stalking that was the main theme throughout this book, I felt the book did not tackle it in a good way. It didn’t feel like they were taking it seriously, it just didn’t seem like it was a big thing that happened to people. It didn’t have the thing that this is serious. Stalking is a serious issue and it just didn’t come across like that in the book, I didn’t feel like they were taking this seriously. That bugged me about this book, being I know someone who has been stalked before and looking at this book (I know it’s a work of fiction – still) it didn’t get those feelings across. Gia didn’t seem that scared of freaked out, it only seemed like her dad was the only one taking it seriously.
The story had a good plot, but I felt like it was turned very childish, it had so much potential and it could have been so good but it just didn’t do it for me. I felt their could be more improvement the actual book.
