When it comes to luck, I’m on the wrong end of the good side with more mishaps than I care to remember. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a happy guy: single, decent looking, wealthy, with a waiting list of people who want me to make their kid’s dreams come true with my custom-designed playhouses. My life was exactly how I wanted it to be. That is, until Saryn Night walked back into my life with the … the intention of firing me. Good luck with that. One strong-headed, opinionated woman with a three-year-old little girl had turned my world upside down within five minutes. The moment they stormed into my office — bright blue eyes, curly brown hair, and a smile that would make any man fall to his knees, and that was just the daughter — I knew I was in for one wild ride that was guaranteed to turn my luck completely around.
Now, for once in my life, I found myself thinking that maybe, just maybe, I could finally be Lucky in Love.
Lucky in Love is a stand alone novel in the Southern Bride series.

I know when I open a Kelly Elliott book that I am going to fall in love with each and every character. I know that Kelly is going to take me on a beautiful ride to the characters happily ever after. And with Saryn and Truitt we get the most beautiful love story. We get a few twists that have us gasping. And characters that you absolutely fall for. We get to see two people really fall in love, let’s make that three people and a dog who fall in love.
Kelly Elliott wrote a brothers best friend story that you can put down. You are any time keep flipping the pages to see the beautiful and heartwarming ending. I enjoyed every single thing about this book.
I would highly recommend this book to any romance reader.
*I was given a free advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. All thoughts and opinions in this review are those of my own.*
Once again Kelly Elliott did an amazing job!! This book was amazing. It had me laughing my booty off, crying, laughing some more, and alot of awwwes. The love that Truitt and Saryn have is amazing. Truitt is a trip and loves to hurt himself lol. Saryn and her daughter are just great and loveable! You will definitely love this book.
Kelly never disappoints! Love this series! Highly recommend
Anyone else obsessed with these beautiful bride covers? Just me? Okay. Well, I am because they are stunning and I ADORE this series.
Truitt and Saryn wove their way into my heart so quickly that I can’t remember not loving them. This novel was all the swoon and had just enough laughs to leave you feeling like you were watching hallmark on a rainy day.
I seem to be on a single parent kick with my reads lately and this one was another favorite. Saryn is a single mom returned back to her home town and faced with her old crush.
YUP.
You know what that means, awkward situations and ALL THE SWOON.
I loved the whole crew in this read and the dual POV really rounded it out to perfection while reading. I never have to doubt the swoon and love that a KE novel will bring me. It never fails.
I absolutely loved Lucky In Love, the fourth book the Southern Bride series, by Kelly Elliott! I could not put it down. Each book in the series keeps getting better and better. Kelly Elliott has once again proven that she is an incredible story teller. I love that she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Lucky In Love is filled with secrets shared and discovered. I love the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing. My favorite moments are the ones that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Lucky In Love is filled with such moments. Lucky in Love is about high school crushes and first loves, Saryn Night and Truitt Carter. Truitt and Saryn both had a crush on each other in high school, but Truit’s best friend is Saryn’s older brother, Ryan. So Truitt never did anything about his feelings for Saryn, until it was too late. Saryn returns to Boerne from Dallas with her three year old daughter, Liliana following her divorce from Tim Ackerman, Liliana’s father. Saryn wants to move home to be close with her family. Saryn’s parents have hired Truitt to build a playhouse for Liliana. Liliana has Truitt wrapped around her little finger. As Saryn and Truitt begin to spend time together designing the playhouse, they both realize that they have feelings for the other and decide to take it slow. Once again Kelly Elliott writes about strong, beautiful women and hot, sexy men, I love all her characters. Who doesn’t love reading stories with the best friend’s little sister and the high school crush that turns into true love. Lucky In Love is filled with bittersweet and poignant moments and the surprise plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Kelly Elliott’s stories. Lucky In Love is a wonderfully written story and I loved every moment. I especially love how the title was part of the story. I love that details of the dresses on the cover of each book is the series are included in the story. Highly recommend this beautifully written story. I truly love how all the epilogues in the series go above and beyond the happily ever afters.
Truitt is so accident prone that he ends up in ER so many times that his brother and friends places bet among each other on his next injury. Oh his new is not to spare for his dog is accident prone too. Truitts personality is somewhere between endearing and klutz in an atrractive way. You’ll like him so much.
Saryn returns back to her hometown fresh out of divorce with an adorable 3 year old daughter, Liliana. Before she knows it she is face to face with her childhood crush.
Miscommunication and ourside involvement has separated Truitt and Saryn but this time a little meddling parent brings them together. The story takes time to build their relationship. Told in dual POV’s the books sense was emotional and delightful. Jack, Paul, Pete, Roger and Saryn’s parents are the best entertaining secondary characters I’ve enjoyed in awhile. This book is a mood-lift-up read.
“What did you say you think you broke?”
“His dick. Is it even possible to break a dick?”
Trust me you’ll be looking up to the next accident that happens and it’s super amusing. Poor Truitt for laughing at his expence.
Lucky in Love is by far my favourtie Southern Bride novel in the series.
I am madly, madly in love with these characters that Kelly has captioned in such a beautiful story that has me absolutely speechless…
This novel for me touched me bone deep and I don’t know what Kelly has don’t different this time but it is such a beautiful story, that will stay with me forever…
Kelly you have done a FANTASTIC job with this one and 5 stars is not enough.

Continuing to love this series! Truitt and Saryn grew up together, but due to a series of events they never ended up together. Years later, Saryn is returning home after her marriage ended in adultery. Thankfully, Saryn’s mother recognized the chemistry in the pair in the past and decided to butt into things to get them to realize things and be together. While both of them fought things in the beginning, Truitt and Saryn start to realize that they feel the same about each other and have ever since childhood, and finally give things a shot. Throwing in the wrench of Saryn’s ex, who’s also from their hometown, everything I expected from that situation was thrown out the window and totally shocked me as I continued to read! I absolutely loved the instant relationship between Saryn’s daughter and Truitt, and my mind continued to be blown as the truth between Truitt and Saryn’s ex and the truth behind their childhood rivalry gets exposed. This was such an epic book and I loved every page. My favorite character had to be Truitt because of his personality and constant bad luck and clumsiness – the icing on the cake being the dog with the same traits! I cannot WAIT for the next book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Truitt is absolutely swoonworthy even though he seems to always get hurt.
When Saryn comes back to town Truitt can’t help but want her all over again. These two rekindle their love for each other and realize that people stood in their way before. Nothing like a second chance romance to make you feel good.
5 Amazing Stars
I have enjoyed this series so dang much and it gets better with every book. I didn’t think Ms. Elliott could top Love at First Sight, because hello, Chloe Parker! But she has definitely done that with Truitt and Saryn’s book. I must admit that I swooned so hard over Truitt. I loved everything about this man, even all of his clumsiness, and the man gets hurts…a lot lol.
Lucky in Love is second chance romance in a non-traditional way and I loved every word. I know when I pick up a Kelly Elliott book I won’t be able to put it down. This book has everything I love in a story and checked all my yeses. Her characters are all just so real. She makes me want to know them in real life. Another great story in this series!

Luck in Love is the fourth title in the Southern Brides series, but can easily be read as a standalone. Each of the titles in this series feature common themes rather than characters. Whilst heartwarming and humorous, this sweet, feel good read still has an element of angst and is quite emotional.
Truitt is a kind, caring, klutz of a man. He suffers so many unfortunate accidents, you can’t help but laugh. His relationship and interactions with Liliana, Saryn’s young daughter will melt your heart.
Saryn is a sweet and kind single mother, coming to terms with living back in the small town she thought she wanted to escape.
Truitt is Saryn’s older brother’s best friends and they had feelings for each other as teens that they both thought were not reciprocated. Misunderstandings, miscommunications and interference from others made for an intriguing storyline. The chemistry they share is intense and undeniable.
I will be honest and say at the beginning of the book I struggled to connect with this pair of characters due to their choices and actions, but by the end I was completely loving this duo.
I look forward to seeing what Kelly Elliott will be writing next.
Kelly Elliott’s Southern Bride series is the kind of heartwarming romance stories that readers love and because of the small-town setting and the amazing cast of primary and secondary characters, each book leaves a lasting impression about love, life, and the importance of family and second chances.
Lucky in Love, book four in the series, has a second chance romance feel to it because the hero and heroine share a past, one that they were both hoping would lead to something more, but ultimately, due to miscommunication and outside interference never happened, but now that Saryn Night and Truitt Carter are back in each other’s lives, five years later, they must just get things right this time, but only if they get out of their own way.
What I love most about how Elliott crafted Truitt’s personality is that his imperfections, his clumsiness are endearing and he truly is a stand up guy. There are such sweet and heartfelt moments that illustrate exactly how much love Truitt has to give to the two beautiful girls in his life.
Saryn is an amazing mom and Elliott does a great job illustrating the difficulties of being a single parent, working through her divorce, and being everything she needs to be, to not only her daughter, but also to herself.
The fact that Saryn and Truitt’s story is titled Lucky in Love is a bit of a paradoxical phrase, not only because Saryn’s first marriage ended in divorce but also because luck didn’t seem to be on their side when they were younger and crushing on each other. But maybe luck is exactly what brings these two back together and provides them an opportunity to finally get things right, to revel in their love for each other and for the most precious little girl in the world.
4.5 Poison Apples
4.5-stars!
Lucky in Love by Kelly Elliott is the fourth book in her Southern Bride standalone series and I loved it. Truitt, Saryn and Liliana were such great characters. Truitt was charming, sexy and sweet. Truitt’s ER escapades had me laughing out loud. Saryn is fresh out of a divorce and not looking for love again. She and her daughter are starting over. But when she runs into her old high school crush, she may not have a choice.
I loved their chemistry, their back and forth and seeing Truitt with Liliana. They shared feelings for each other back in high school, but miscommunications let them in different directions. Can they finally find their way to each other now? Such a sweet and charming story and one I recommend.

Happy reading!
Clumsy is the new Sexy!!!!
OMG this book was everything!!! It had me swooning and laughing, it was just the best. Truit and Saryn were perfect together and so stinking adorable. This story is definitely my favorite of the series (I mean I loved them all, but this one was just special). I loved the side characters, I loved the storyline, it was just seriously a great read. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next. I’m ready! Always ready for a Kelly Elliott read!
5 He’s Their Prince Charming Stars!!!
Move over Josh and Heather, I have a new favorite Kelly Elliott couple!!! If you’re shocked reading those words imagine how shocked I am writing them!! I never thought I’d find a Kelly Elliott couple that I loved more than those two, but Truitt and Saryn have pushed them out of first place!!
Saryn and her beautiful little girl Liliana have moved home to their small Texas town after a divorce that had me wanting throat punch her ex and before she knows it, she’s face to face with her high school crush and the pull she had for Truitt is still there and much stronger than when they were younger…..
“My heart felt like it jumped in my chest at the sound of that voice. Oh, Saryn. You are in so much trouble.”
And this is the beginning of how Truitt and Saryn finally become the couple they’ve always been destined to become. But as you might expect, it’s not an easy transition. Things have changed in both their lives and now Saryn has Liliana to think of. But if her mom has anything to say about it, it’s going to happen as soon as possible… I love a meddling mother, just adds a whole different layer to the story.
The connection that our H/h have is undeniable. There are so many moments when they just connect, whether it’s during one of Truitt’s many visits to the ER… I thought I was a klutz, this man has me beat!! Or when Truitt is interacting with Liliana, I was swooning all over the place. This little girl has him wrapped all the way around her little finger and it’s so dang adorable the way he is with her.
When our couple admit their attraction and do something about it, their passion is intense but also gentle and sexy and loving. Saryn gets to experience what being loved by man is supposed to be and Truitt takes his time and with that revealing how he really feels for this woman. And while they’ve known each other most of their lives, this new aspect of their friendship leads to the love they’ve both always wanted.
When you add in the little twist that explains so many things that had me saying “No Way!” then this book is everything I love about a Kelly Elliott book and once you read it you’ll understand my love for this couple and their family.
Truitt and Saryn were such a sweet couple! Kelly Elliott is for sure to give me all the feels and this book was so good! Truitt isn’t a lucky guy. In fact, he’s pretty unlucky and gets hurt. A lot. His struggle was funny to his friends as well. But he was able to have a career he loved and building playhouses was something that benefited others. And lucky for him, Saryn’s mom hired him to build a playhouse for her granddaughter. I loved seeing these two see each other again for the first time in years and while they never dated in the past, they were friends. I didn’t want to pull myself away from this book. I wanted to wrap myself up in Kelly’s words. This book was easy to get lost in and get ready for alllll the swoons! Don’t miss this read!
Kelly Elliott has done it again! Brought us another brilliant sweet and funny must read! Your heart will swoon first thanks to Truitt but then because of little Liliana! She is quite the show stealer with her cuteness.
After her divorce Saryn moves back home to her parents with her 3 year old daughter Liliana for a fresh start. Men and a new relationship is the last thing on her mind but being face to face with the man she fell in love with back in high school she may finally get everything she ever wanted.
I loved Truitt! he is seriously swoon-worthy and sweet but he is a complete accident prone disaster. He is always hurting himself and ending up in the ER as a frequent flyer! His friends find this highly amusing and have a book on when he will get hurt next and how!
Well done Kelly Elliott on another brilliantly sweet and romantic read.
Ah! Lucky in Love! I loved everything about this story! This is one of my favorites from Kelly Elliott. The story had everything. I laughed and cried many times throughout this book. Truitt was a great male lead and had a lot of personality to him. I like how Saryn’s character was written and that she was a strong female lead. I found myself happy grinning so much within this book and wished it went on! This is a great read if you are looking for an all-around great book to read!
No matter how big of a reading funk I am in, I can always count on Kelly Elliott to bring me right out of it. She has this amazing ability to bring me right into a story and keep me captive until the very last page. I can never get enough of her sweet, sexy cowboys, and Truitt is the perfect example of everything I love about them.
I couldn’t get enough of the Saryn, Truitt, and Liliana’s story. I fell head over heals in love with Truitt for sure, but it was little Liliana who captured by heart the mot.
I loved every single second of this one and I can’t wait to see what Elliott brings us next!
Lucky in Love is the fourth book in the Southern Brides Series and it follows the story of Truitt and Saryn. Truitt has always had a bit of bad luck. He is more accident prone than a young child. He ends up in the ER so many times that his friends and family take bets on what injury he will get next. The one place that he’s not unlucky is his job. He creates playhouses for kids that are wilder than their imaginations….Fresh off her divorce, Saryn returns to her hometown in search of a fresh start for herself and her 3 year old daughter, Liliana. She wasn’t looking for love, but when the boy she used to have a crush on, blows into her life, her world is once again turned upside down. Luck hasn’t always been on Saryn and Truitt’s side, but maybe, just maybe fate will finally be on their side and will turn their bad luck into some much needed good….
Lucky in Love is a total breath of fresh air. I think I fell in love with Truitt almost instantly. Sure he’s accident prone and ends up in the ER far too many times, but he is the sweetest guy with a heart of gold. He’s never been in a serious relationship because his heart has always belonged to someone else. And when Saryn returns home, he might finally get his chance with the girl of his dreams….Speaking of Saryn, I liked her a lot. She had her heartbroken, but got a beautiful little girl out of it. She was brave to return to her hometown and start over fresh. She wasn’t looking at all for love, but when she reconnects with Truitt, all bets are off. Their chemistry is undeniable and you could tell right away these two were meant to be. But, what I liked the most was that Truitt took the time to get to know Liliana. Liliana was too cute for words and I loved the relationship that Truitt built with her.
Lucky in Love is a sweet, second chance romance that will give you all the feels and leave you with the smile on your face. The characters are real and entertaining. Sayrn & Truitt’s families were amazing. I loved how real they were with each other, their support and love. They were the kind of families that everyone would want to have in their corners.
Lucky in Love is a great addition to the Southern Bride Series. This story is filled with heart, romance, family and second chances. With the perfect mix of romance and drama, Lucky in Love is a great story to spend your day getting lost in.
