“You want me bad,” Ethan teased, a devilish gleam lighting his eyes.Claire swallowed hard and shook her head. “Not gonna happen.” Sure, she said it more for her sake than his, but saying it out loud gave it more staying power, right?Claire Bennett needs to find a boyfriend. Fast. Problem is, she doesn’t have the time or desire (or maybe even the ability) to manage a relationship right now. … manage a relationship right now. Determined to avoid her pending public humiliation, Claire resorts to hiring a fake boyfriend. Though unable to deny her troublesome attraction for her new faux beau, she’s confident her plan will work as long as she keeps from getting swept away in a whirlwind romance that leaves her dizzy, flat on her butt, and full of regret when it ends.
Having played many positions in his career, retired soccer star Ethan DuBois happily agrees to take on the role of pretend boyfriend. After all, spending two months with the beautiful, intelligent, and intriguingly independent Claire promises to be an amusing distraction from the real–and infinitely more frustrating–reason he’s back in Silver Bay.
But being with Claire soon makes Ethan realize he wants her as his partner for more than a short-term pretense. Will the clock run out before Ethan convinces Claire that life is always better when you’re part of a team?

LUCKY IN LOVE is the third book in the Silver Bay series. They will need to be read/listened to in the order of release.
Sweet with a touch of steam, I loved everything about this book. The first two books in this series captured my imagination, but Claire and Ethan have my heart.
From one of the greatest meet-cutes ever written to happily-ever-after, their story is full of the kinds of misunderstandings and miscues that you can expect to happen in real life. At times, the story is laugh-out-loud funny and then it is smile-though-your-heart-is-breaking serious. In the end, it is a romance and true love will prevail. Thank goodness.
Narrator: Elizabeth Klett has a charming voice and does a beautiful job of providing theater of voice. I listen while I commute, but there was this pesky thing called a job that interrupted my listening time!! BOOOO!!! Listening to LUCKY IN LOVE made it possible to smile while driving on the Florida Interstate!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted copy via Author’s Direct, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I hardly know where to start on my complete absorption in Amelia Judd’s ‘Lucky in Love’?! Thirty-three-year-old Claire Bennett is a single mom of two talented kids, silently running her father’s company Bennett Industries and scared to death to step one toe in the waters of a new relationship since her divorce.
Twenty-nine-year-old Ethan DuBois is a famous, recently retire, soccer player originally from Silver Bay, Wisconsin that is ready to start living his life. He’s back from Chicago for good even though his former team owner is trying everything to get him back in the game, literally.
The two main characters meet quite by accident in a hilariously funny situation only because Claire is trying to dodge being in her sister’s charity Bachelorette Auction. Intensely hot sparks of chemistry fly from the two from the beginning.
I’ll leave the juicy details of the rest of the story out of this review for you to enjoy yourselves when you buy the book. Just know it’s filled with wonderfully funny, sweet and sexy situations that will have you zipping through page after page to find out what happens next.
I haven’t read a book in a long time that made me sad to see it end in quite a while. I wish Silver Bay was a real town and my family was from it! Ms. Judd is a supremely talented writer that gives her characters well rounded life-like qualities. They are full of wit, charm, spunk and love. You simply want them to magically become your BFF’s.
I highly recommend buying ‘Lucky in Love’ and all the other ‘Silver Bay Series’ books, I know I am! Thanks Amelia for bringing such fun, laughter and emotional against into your books that they’re impossible to put down. Kuddos to you!
This is the 3rd book in this awesome series, and is Claire and Ethan’s story. Claire is a single mom who is in desperate need of a fake boyfriend. Ethan is a retired soccer player, who steps in as the boyfriend. Problem being this is a short term arrangement, and Logan is determined to convince Claire to make their deal long term. This story had me laughing-out-loud from the very beginning until the end. This author has done an awesome job in penning this story, and in my opinion, she has outdone herself! I was totally captivated throughout, and cannot wait to read more of this authors’ work, and I highly recommend her work for all readers who love a hilarious story.
A gorgeous, hilarious romantic novel that had me giggling the whole way through. Amelia Judd really brings her characters to life in this surprising and endearing story that tantalises and teases and ultimately delivers exactly what one might want from a small-town romance. Another winner, and I can’t wait to read what she delivers next.
Pretend Romance Becomes Real
This fun romance is the third of the Silver Bay series. The book is witty and fun. The characters all had depth and real emotion. The story is fairly clean but for one graphic sexual encounter that was easy to skip over. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to share my honest review.
Lucky in love ( Silver Bay Book 3) by Amelia Judd … This is the 3rd book in the series and I have read them all and can’t wait for the next one. This is Claire and Ethan’s story and it was a good or better than the first two. Ethan at 29 has retired as a very successful soccer player who feels he never lived up to his mother’s expectations and Claire who feels romance and marriage are over rated. Their story is so touching and I couldn’t help feeling I was part of it. They get to their HEA but that’s all I’ll say…you need to read it for yourself. Can’t wait for book 4 Hannah’s story and see what her mother has in store for her..

We could all stand to be so lucky
Claire, the only Bennett sibling interested in the family business, is desperate to get out of the charity auction her sister conned her into. Ethan, a younger retired soccer player, is in Silver Bay to tie up a few loose ends before moving on yo the next phase of his life. A case of mistaken identity leads to Ethan and Claire playing a couple to help Claire get out of her commitment. As the story progresses the reader gets drawn in to their lives and the issues from their pasts that are still influencing their present.
THE feel-good heart-warming love story of the year!
Amelia Judd’s Silver Bay series of contemporary romances just kicked up to world-class status with her third book, Lucky in Love. It’s a sports star/second time around/older woman/fake boyfriend/big drama small-town romance like you’ll never want to end. Divorced mother of two and successful executive Claire has it all – great career, great kids, great friends and family in her corner – but her divorce taught her to fear romance and relegate love to the realm of childhood fairy tales. Ethan is the hometown hero, the soccer star who retired at the top of his game to return home to Silver Bay, WI. From the moment Claire mistakes Ethan for the blind date she plans to proposition, the humor and the sparks fly between them. Ethan’s driven, focused, and goal oriented – and from her first offer to pay him to be her fake “boyfriend” he turns all that energy, and a megawatt smile, on Claire. He’s determined that she and her kids are going to be his new team. The love match they play out is high-intensity, high-stakes, hearts on the line, sudden death at the end – Claire’s protect-this-house, hold-the-line defense against Ethan’s breathtaking brilliant offense. This is spell-binding and heart-stopping romance with heart and heat like I’ve never read before – Ethan and Claire’s story had me laughing, sighing, crying and cheering from Page 1 to the epilogue’ end. My most sincere thanks to the author for the ARC of Lucky in Love, and I’m thrilled to give the book my honest and heartfelt recommendation. I’m so totally a fan!
They came together for all the wrong reasons, so how come it felt so right? Claire is the girl that always has a plan. So why is her world falling apart? Amelia Judd always gets it right. Lucky in Love is a charming tale of heartbreak and second chances. Claire and Ethan are a reminder that it’s okay to laugh, even at the worst times. A lesson we all can learn from.
I love these second chance at love type of reads. The ones where the divorcee finds a new lease on life. This group has a mother who is no joke and wants her babies happy, that’s all. Ethan and Claire’s story is a good one and so skillfully done. The single parent and the hot younger guy works out well here. It’s even better because the author has found a way to do it without the foul language or vivid love scenes. You got it folks a wonderful read you don’t have to hide and each one in this series just keeps getting better. Love this author and I am loving her characters and her style too!!
It’s been a while since I’ve read an Amelia Judd novel, and I had forgotten what a delight her work is to read! She had me laughing out loud on the first page and grinning through the first chapter. Then the book just got better from there and I’m so happy I had the chance to read an advance copy of this one! It was great to revisit the small town of Silver Bay and the Bennett family, this time for Claire and Ethan’s story. I love the quaintness, with just a touch of quirk, of this town and its residents, and the Bennett family is always endearing and entertaining.
Claire is the logical, dependable, independent older daughter, executive with the family company and divorced, single mom of two great kids. There are a couple of problems though. First, her divorce has dissuaded her of the notion of romance, and second, she needs a fake boyfriend ASAP to get out of her sister’s charity bachelor and bachelorette auction. In a case of mistaken identity and several misunderstandings, she propositions the hometown pro soccer player hero to be her faux beau. And then things really get interesting.
This author has outdone herself, because this book is the best of this series so far, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. I loved absolutely everything about this book and hated to see it end! It was adorably sweet, a little steamy, plenty humorous and made my heart smile. I loved both main characters and the chemistry between them. Claire was an awesome, put-together, confident woman with just a touch of vulnerability that immediately won me over. Ethan intrigued me immediately from their first encounter and then won my heart because he saw Claire for who she really was beneath the polished façade she portrays to the world. In spite of a bump or two, they figured things out and were perfect together. This delightful, heartwarming, humorous read is sure to please and shouldn’t be missed!

I loved Amelia Judd’s first two books in The Silver Bay series and I’ve been excitedly awaiting the release of Lucky In Love. Once again, I read Ms. Judd’s book in one sitting. I simply could not put it down, as I needed to find out how Claire and Ethan’s love story ended. They are relatable characters that are fun and sexy. Claire, a single working and very dedicated mom, falls for the younger, hunky former professional soccer player, Ethan. Their chemistry is undeniable but will Claire let her guard down to let Ethan into her already full life? This is a fabulous, quick read! I can’t wait to read the next book in The Silver Bay series! Thank you to the author for giving me an ARC. This is my honest review of Lucky In Love.
This is one of the sweetest, funny, touching and heartwarming stories I have read in a while.
Ms. Judd takes us back to Silver Bay, WI and the Bennett clan.
This time the story belongs to Claire Bennett. She is a successful business woman running the family business, is a dedicated single Mom, and is now being told by her sister, Kat, that she will be on the bachelorette auction, since she has no significant other.
Desperate, she asks her friend , Deb, to set a meet and greet with her cousin Lucky, so he can be her pretend boyfriend and thus be spared the auction dilemma. So off she goes to a bar and meets Ethan DuBois who is NOT whom she think he is, but rather a retired famous soccer star. He is smitten by her and even after the mix up is clarified, goes along with the pretend boyfriend scenario.
Watching these two was touching and sweet as well as funny. The author creates a plausible storyline and weaves into the story her children, and family as well as his mother so well that you think you are part of the town.
Just as in real life, family dynamics play a major roll. How we perceive ourselves and how we think others see us, is something we all deal with in life. The fact that past experiences , good and bad, affect how we live , is highlighted.
Obstacles have to be overcome, but in the end , the prize is so very much worth it.
Another winner for this talented author.
