One minute, we’re living the dream. The next, her baby shower explodes and she’s kidnapped by terrorists. Callie Lucky’s nightmares have morphed into day-terrors. He’s drinking, too, which isn’t at all like him . He says he wants to reenlist but, in his condition, he’ll surely get killed. I can’t lose him, not after all we’ve gone through. Will this couple survive his PTSD or will they crumble, … survive his PTSD or will they crumble, forever regretting what could-have-been?
A Stand-alone Patten Securities novel with heated scenes, swearing, and a Happily-Ever-After.

Another great read by Stella Marie Alden who once again brings strong characters in Lucky and Callie who have a hot chemistry and steamy romance. The author brings tons of emotion, adds twists and turns and tons of action and keeps you reading to the end. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Just as an intense second chapter of this story with Lucky and Callie as the first. There are unseen evil forces as well as a meddling mother in law. Also serious issues, including PTSD and how it’s different for everyone. They are wonderful characters who support Lucky and also Callie as they are family. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
ARC was given by Author through Bookfunnel. My review is given voluntarily.
Lucky II by Stella Marie Alden this is book 2 in the final story of Callie and Lochlan from Patten Bodyguard Security series.
I have this book 5 because it was an amazingly good book – icing on a Lucky & Callie cake.
OH! WOW! There was so much good things packed into this book, that I don’t think I can do is justice, you’ll just have to read it for yourself! I do recommend that you read Book 5 “Lucky” first for the full reading experience.
This was definitely a more emotional charged book then “Lucky” was.
Loch feeling guilty because first their baby shower building explodes with his wife unborn child, and the wives of the other Patten team members in the restaurant, then after that Callie is kidnapped. This is just to much for Loch all these events triggers his PTSD, and he goes spiraling out of control…..he needs Callie to anchor him to reality. This starts a whole new fight for Loch he has to find her, he loves her to much to lose her now, It’s his fault that all of this is happening. There’s no reasoning with him that it’s not his fault!
Can they survive his PTSD, or will they go their separation ways?
This was definitely an emotional charged book with the PTSD as an important subject, a very strong love connection, it also came with all the other things that the 1st book had; full of action, fantastic characters, great brotherhood family support, misunderstandings, suspense, family drama, steamy hot sex, tensions, turns and twists with surprise danger, They do find love in each other’s arms, with a HEA that warmed my . Great book even better then the first, and that’s saying a lot because “Lucky” was fantastic!
This story started out with a bang and action and just kept going. Lucky’s wife Callie is pregnant and the wives from Patten securities are throwing her a baby shower. Everything was vetted and good to go but we all know even the best laid plans don’t follow the script. Lucky was unofficially bodyguarding along with his pal Suds when party was crashed, kidnapping was attempted and restaurant exploded. This is only the beginning. The husbands believe they’ve all lost their wives at first but slowly figure out that Suds got them to the building next door but they’re trapped in rubble. They must dig them out and some of them are hurt and need to go to the hospital. Callie is a main character around which things revolve. We learn a little about Lucky’s time in Afghanistan and what happened there. We learn about PTSD and how it was triggered and some of what he felt and went through. He has great friends and a loving, adorable wife. There is a lot of action, information, tears, anger (especially at her over the top, I’m going to do what I feel is right for you, mother)) and other interactions and issues. I was on the edge of my seat at times, rooting, crying and cheering for different characters. I couldn’t put it down until the story was done! Awesome read.

I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
A fantastic well written read. This storyline has plenty of danger, action, gripping suspense, edge of your seat plot twists, romance and sizzling sexual scenes. The characters are well developed, full of courage, passion, and undeniable love. An amazing rollercoaster as Callie’s mother triggers Lucky’s PTSD on this emotional journey to an amazing HEA. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC
Oh it was so much reading about Lucky and Callie again. Most of the beginning is them reminiscing and remembering about their early relationship when they met and when they started because they Callie is in trouble and they both worry they won’t see each other again. But seeing how much they love each other and their worry for the other made my heart swell. Callie and friends helping Lucky with his PTSD triggered by the event made me cry. We just didn’t get to know what Lucky ended up doing after he finished school. But I was so happy with how their life turned out and I hope that’s the end for them so they can continue living their HEA.
Lucky II was a great well-written, emotional, action packed romance. Off the charts chemistry between Callie and Lucky. Couldn’t put it down.
ARC review For honest review. This a story of calliope and her friends who are having a baby shower for her when the place explodes setting lucky on a tail spin. 10 stars awesome story
Another good adventure. I liked how it started full bore and didn’t really let up. It was also nice to re-visit some friends from a previous book. Some of the Patten Bodyguard wives is who I am talking about. But it was also written in a way that I don’t think it would be difficult at all for a new reader just to plunge right into this book.
Suds is another person who really stands out. He’s a stand up kind of rough around the edges guy. But he’s a close friend of Lucky’s whose not afraid to tell it like it is. He adds a lot to the story and is there for the couple more than once.
Jason was quite the interesting surprise. And no, I’m not telling any more about that. Why ruin the surprise?
This book has plenty of danger, action, romance and marital sex. There is also a really good Epilogue.
I really liked the choice for this eBook cover too.

I love Stella Marie Alden!! I love that she gives us, not a glance, but let’s us spend time with previous couples. I love that relationships are messy, difficult, but still they plow through. Lucky and Callie’s story continue’s with an explosion…literally. I love these characters, the flow of the story, the roller coaster ride of the relationship and the drama. This maybe my favorite book yet, but I think that every time. Do yourself a favor, read this book, read this series….BINGE WORTHY!!
I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Wow! What an amazing story !!! An amazing, emotional read with a tough topic! Do not miss it! I read an arc copy of this book
I completely enjoyed reading more about Lucky and Callie. The story offers plenty of suspense, drama, emotional turmoil, action and heat to keep you turning pages and fully invested. A wonderful read!
High octane tension and suspense!
Lucky II by Stella Marie Alden is absolutely a wonderfully well written romance. This book has everything I love about reading romance stories. First of all, the characters are fantastic! Add in the plot full of action-packed adrenaline, emotionally charged tension, witty and engaging dialogue, gripping suspense and sweaty, steamy sexy times, and you’ve got perfection!
I have read just about every Stella Marie Alden book out there and she never disappoints. I was thrilled to read Lucky II and can not wait for the next whether it’s part of this series or a new one.
Overall, a truly fantastic and fun read that kept me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and sighing in relief. Lucky and Callie’s HEA was super sweet and full of detail which readers of this series will really appreciate!
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
I love Lucky and Callie. They have this hot chemistry that can be felt throughout the entire story. It has gripping on the edge of your seat seat action, drama, suspense, and don’t forget the hot romance. We get to see the other characters from some of the other stories in the series and that just adds the cream on the top. It is extremely well written and the of course the characters are beautifully developed. It will have you completely engaged to the end. It is a must read.
Another action packed book as we continue to follow Lucky & Callie’s road to happiness. After Callie’s life is in danger, Lucky’s PTSD is back as he feels helpless when it comes to keeping his wife safe. Will Callie be able to help him from falling back into the darkness, or will she be another casualty on his path to self-destruct?
Yet again im loving this series.
Lucky 2 carries on from book 1 with callie expecting a baby and lucky being the charmingly funny aussie.
Disaster at her baby shower leaves lucky in a panic to save his family’s lives.
Callie’s work with emf causes terrorists to come out of the shadows.
Their relationship is out to be tested, when outside forces interfere but love can conquer all.
It was great to see all the other characters join in this story and hope more is still to come.
Stella Marie Alden did it. Lucky II is now my all-time favourite book of hers, but, dang it, I nearly blew a gasket when I read the first few chapters. I swear I nearly sent an email to Stella saying what the heck with Lucky???
After calming my bum down, I read on and sigh…. dear readers, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is not something to scoff about or hide. If you have it, please get help, if you know someone who shows the signs, reach out and show you care.
There are a lot of veterans who we see as strong, alpha males (and female)–we think that they are badass, that they can handle a lot after having gone a tour or two, so we tend to shy away when they show weakness or aggression, but we must understand that they can, and most often than not, have emotional scars.
Hats off to Ms. Alden for giving us an understanding of what PTSD is about through Lucky and Calliope’s story. Bravo!
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily giving my review.
Lucky has been one of my favorites and this deeper look attached him to me even more. The pain and struggles, his strong connection with Callie grabs at my heart and gives a few twists. I love digging back in to their story. Great read!
