Everyone Has a Hidden Talent
For Lucky O’Toole it’s murder…solving it.
Surviving in Sin City takes cunning, a pair of five-inch heels, and a wiseass attitude. Lucky has mastered them all and has a pair of legs she uses to kick butt and turn heads.
As the Chief Problem Solver for the Babylon, Las Vegas’s most over-the-top destination, mischief is in her job description.
She’s good at her job.
She’s less good at life. But who has time for a life when there’s a killer on the loose?
Light, funny, romantic mysteries providing a Vegas escape appropriate for anyone looking for a good laugh.
AN INTERVIEW WITH DEBORAH COONTS
Why did you decide to write humor?
I’m not sure I decided to add snark to the Lucky, books, specifically to Lucky’s own voice, it just happened that way. When I was a kid, my mouth always got me into trouble. Finally, I’ve found a way to harness the sarcasm for the Forces of Good—or at least in a way not to anger my grandmother. And when Lucky started talking to me, she had a strong dose of sass in her.
The Lucky O’Toole Vegas Adventure series is hard to categorize. Is that by design?
When I set out to write Wanna Get Lucky?, I knew I wanted to write a romp through Las Vegas. I had the characters and the setting but no real understanding of narrative drive. So, I threw a young woman out of a tour helicopter into the middle of the Pirate Show and let the story unfold. A bit of murder to keep the plot moving, some wisecracking and Vegas mischief to make you laugh, and some romance to keep it interesting. A bit of a mash up, but it works.

I enjoyed this book and read another in the series. Worth the read, easy, and fun.
A fun romp — if you like Janet Evenovich, you’ll like these.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
Kept me wanting to read more.
I have read these 2 books of the Lucky-Las Vegas series, and 2 novellas. I loved all 4 and plan to read more. Great sense of humor and good mystery.
Very fun series for fans of Stephanie Plumb. Lucky O’TOOLE fights bad guys, sleuths mysteries, and struggles with family and personal relationships…all with a sarcastic sense of humor.
I liked the characters Except: the author seems to be determined to justify bad behavior and atheistic stance. Turned me off. Wish it were different.
A fun read…… with interesting twists.
Could have been a good story line, but graphic sex to fill the pages had me putting the book down way before the end.
Haven’t read
Ok beach read
Entertaining in a Janet Evanovich way.
This was an alright read. The summaries got kind of tiring and there was possibly a little too much personal information thrown in.
If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich, you will love this book.
I could not finish the book.
Too many fashion descriptions. Poor story line. Reads like a chic flick. Really on funny. Cannot be compared to Ivanovich’s Stephanie Plum.
It’s easy reading, nothing mind blowing and nothing entirely awful
Absolutely enjoyed this. Looking for her next book!
Not really my cup of tea. The mystery was OK
Different story line. Too raunchy for me. I like a good mystery story not a book on sex.
