Everyone Has a Hidden Talent
For Lucky O’Toole it’s murder…solving it.
Surviving in Sin City takes cunning, a pair of five-inch heels, and a wiseass attitude. Lucky has mastered them all and has a pair of legs she uses to kick butt and turn heads.
As the Chief Problem Solver for the Babylon, Las Vegas’s most over-the-top destination, mischief is in her job description.
She’s good at her job.
She’s less good at life. But who has time for a life when there’s a killer on the loose?
Light, funny, romantic mysteries providing a Vegas escape appropriate for anyone looking for a good laugh.
AN INTERVIEW WITH DEBORAH COONTS
Why did you decide to write humor?
I’m not sure I decided to add snark to the Lucky, books, specifically to Lucky’s own voice, it just happened that way. When I was a kid, my mouth always got me into trouble. Finally, I’ve found a way to harness the sarcasm for the Forces of Good—or at least in a way not to anger my grandmother. And when Lucky started talking to me, she had a strong dose of sass in her.
The Lucky O’Toole Vegas Adventure series is hard to categorize. Is that by design?
When I set out to write Wanna Get Lucky?, I knew I wanted to write a romp through Las Vegas. I had the characters and the setting but no real understanding of narrative drive. So, I threw a young woman out of a tour helicopter into the middle of the Pirate Show and let the story unfold. A bit of murder to keep the plot moving, some wisecracking and Vegas mischief to make you laugh, and some romance to keep it interesting. A bit of a mash up, but it works.

Great read
Great series of books. A must read
Really enjoy reading my way through this series with Lucky. The characters are real with their own quirky personalities and I want to be friends with all of them.
Great easy fast romantic unique Last Vegas capers.
Enjoyed the insight into Las Vegas life and the interesting characters
Well written- highly recommended as a fun read. I enjoyed both.
Deborah Coonts has written about very interesting people. Fun to read about fictional life in Las Vegas.
I recently discovered this author and I am so hooked on her work. I can’t wait for the next one.
Reminiscent of Janet Evonavich. Enough twists and turns to keep you very interested
Great relaxing read. Story and characters were fun.
This goes at high speed, I enjoyed it very much. The sexy parts were a little much, but cursing and explicit enuendoes are not my thing.
I officially want to move to Vegas and stay in the Babylon!! Lucky O’Toole is a great, well developed character! She worries about her cellulite, her height, her frizzy hair, everyday things all of us worry about! And shes thrown for a loop when her best (guy) friend kisses her!! She doesnt want to change their great friendship, but she does have feelings for him. And her job as the head of customer relations keeps her hopping from one crisis to the next. Then there’s her mother Mona who is the owner of a brothel. These books are fast paced and exciting!! Cant wait to read more!!
I enjoyed the setting in a Las Vegas casino/resort with its interesting situations paired with a murder mystery
Quick with a pun or sarcasm, Lucky has a nontraditional life, to say the least. As problem solver to a large casino/hotel, she never knows what is next. Murder complicates the job.
I have found a new all nighter series to read. Lucky O’Toole is my new favorite heroine!
Light and fun reading when you are looking for some R&R!
Okay read for the beach.
