ASTONISHING RELEASE
First and foremost… I would like to say thank you to R.S. Lively for creating such a realistically written romance. To me, Lucky Daddy should be a top seller.
Truth: Lucky Daddy is hands down my absolute favorite book by R.S.
I try immensely hard never to give away any part of the plot with my reviews, however, this is going to be difficult; as there are so many things I would love to say. I am being completely genuine, with you, when I tell you that Lucky Daddy has an astonishing storyline as well as the realistic characters to match. I just want to gush about the quality and depth to this book. Hopefully, you will read it for yourself and be completely enthralled from page 1, just as I was.
In their small town, Gwendolyn and Reilly have had an infatuation with each other since her teen years but ultimately kept their feelings hidden and to themselves. Reilly is an adopted part of their Family as well as best friend’s with Gwen’s Brother, Anthony. After college, Gwen leaves to blaze her own path in the City. As a school teacher, she is amazing with the children, however, due to cutbacks, she is now out of a job and decides to return home before her savings runs out. Meanwhile, Reilly is operating his Grandfather, Lucky’s pub when he receives devastating news. Oftentimes, he gazes at a secreted away photo in his wallet of himself and Gwenie from her college graduation and if ever there was a time when he needed her it’s right now. The problem? He doesn’t want to lose his best friend. Seeing her for the first time in years, steals all the breath from his body, and slams it right back into his heart & soul; she is like the sun shining and the reason he draws breath. This is a very eye-opening experience for Reilly. Gwenie is experiencing the exact same thing. While they are soulmates, fated even, can they continue to resist each other? Do they finally come clean about what they mean to one another or will avoidance continue to be the answer? Will they get their happily ever after or will they let the fear, of what others think guide them? If you are an avid romance reader, like myself, this is 100% the book for you. I only recommend books that I love, and this one is in my top five, of all time favorite books ever. For me, that’s saying something. Congratulations to R.S.
I consider myself fortunate to have requested an advanced reader’s copy of Lucky Daddy in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I strongly encourage all of you to read it. Truly A Masterpiece.
Gwen has been in love with Reilly for so long but he never liked her. Since he is her brother’s best friend, she saw him often. She didn’t visit her hometown for a long time, now she has to move back, she lost her job.
How would she live in the town where the only guy she ever loved lives?
Loved the book, characters.
Gwen and Reilly have known each other all of their lives. Reilly is best friends with Gwen’s older brother. Very over protective older brother. Reilly has kept his distance from Gwen because he doesn’t want to upset his best friend but when Gwen moves back to town, fireworks happen. I loved this book. It was totally a good read! Highly recommend!
I love this book!! The characters in the story are strongly passionate and endearing. A girl who had a crush years ago is back in town and finds out she is not over him. A deal is struck but they can’t keep the bargain and things get hot, hot, hot really fast. The author has done a good job detailing the storyline.
Lucky Daddy is Worthy of Way More than 5-Stars
Quite simply said. this is R.S. Lively’s best written book to date, Lucky Daddy is a magnificent read! Lucky Daddy is a full length read, and this best of the best RomCom fits into so many romance genre’s, second chance romance, brothers best friend & surprise baby. Holy heck, how are all those genre’s possible in 1 book, it only goes to prove that R.S. Lively is one fabulous, amazing, terrific, author. An amazing storyline & plot plus told in dual POVs by wonderful, well developed characters; what more can readers want with this swoon-worthy, panty melting, roller coaster ride of emotions in Lucky Daddy! R.S. Lively you have outdone yourself with this one. Just to give you some idea, Reilly & Gwen have had a thing for each other for years, but, always from afar, neither felt they could tell the other or anyone else for that matter so neither confided in anyone. There was no way either would or could act upon their feelings, after all, they grew up together, Reillly was always at Gwen & Anthony’s house, it felt as if Reilly was their adopted brother, and, Gwen’s brother Anthony was Reilly’s beat friend and Reilly wouldn’t go against bro code. All those years swallowing their feelings, until Gwen went away to college & stayed away for her first job. I don’t want to give any more than I already have. What happens when Gwen returns home, several years later? Reilly’s hotter than every, and his Irish accent, it’s woon-worthy & panty-melting! But, Reilly is reeling over his grandfather recent, unexpected death. He’s also working to keep his grandfather’s beloved bar afloat. Then, Reilly gets the shock of a lifetime, his grandfather won the lottery years ago, invested wisely, left Reilly billions, but, he also left some unusual terms to his will. What were those terms & would Reilly be able to keep his grandfather’s bar that he loved. With Reilly and Gwen’s sizzling connection & crackling chemistry set to detonate, what’s the future hold for these two? What will Anthony think of his little sister & his best friend together? Will he accept if they were to have a relationship or are they doomed from the start? Could they ever get to their HEA? What a bumpy, twisted ride of emotions pricipated by one touch, one kiss, cause deep down they both have known for years, they have an unbreakable bond & a magicial connection that will last a lifetime! No question, I would absolutely recommend Lucky Daddy by R.S. Lively.
I did receive an advanced copy from the author but also purchase my own copy of this fantastic book, and, am voluntarily leaving my own opinion with my voluntary review.
This is a wonderful, highly entertaining second-chance romance & I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The plot is impressive, well-thought out, and written. The complex characters are realistic & believable.
There is: a man who experiences a devastating loss (Reilly), a woman who loses her job & returns home (Gwendolyn aka Gwen), a brother & best friend (Anthony), family issues, caring friends, twists & turns, intrigue, some suspense, drama, secrets, deceit, heartache, discovery, shock, memories, conversations, misunderstandings, admittance, confusion, jealousy, verbal confrontations, heartache, sadness, choices, devastating news, complications, disagreements, apologies, contentment, love, some steam & a satisfying epilogue.
This is a well written, second chance, emotional roller coaster love story and absolutely perfect!!
After graduating college Gwen needed a change. For as long as she can remember she has been stuck in a small town, in-love with a man that she knew she would never have. Due to some unfortunate events she finds herself packing up her life again to head back home but as she does all the feelings come back at full force. She maybe scared, nervous and unsure of the future but one thing she does know is that time has only made her love stronger.
Reilly has just inherited his grandpa’s bar, one that has been in the family and his home forever. When his best friend tells him the news that his sister is finally coming home Reilly realizes he won’t be able to fight his feelings any longer. Only problem, he won’t betray his best friend even if it costs him the only woman he has ever loved.
I was hooked from the start of this story even though it took me some time to get through since it hit home rather hard for me. R.S. Lively has given us another fabulous love story.
One heck of an amazing read that is a non-stop bundle of suspense! The nail-biting storyline will keep you on edge with anticipation for making the perfect choice and a great HEA! Emotionally engrossing, witty, exciting and enjoyable! Lip-biting hot chemistry! An amazing bad boy must read that will have you rooting for Mr. Right to take a hike!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
I absolutely fell in love with this book. Love should not be this hard. Watching Gwen and Reilly going back and forth with their emotions and their love for each other without hurting Gwens’s brother which is Reilly’s best friend. I could not put the book down. The writting is awesome, you really feel the emotions of the characters and get caught up in the story. Love the HEA.
Is this couple lucky or stubbornly clueless?!

I usually love R.S. Lively romances. They have lots of emotion, likable principal characters and heart along with heat. This one had all of that and its good points, but it also went a bit overboard with too much worry and waffling by the MCs.
I found the premise okay and Mills, heroine Gwen’s BFF was a snarky, outspoken, humorous sidekick. Hero Reilly has some very moving moments to survive, but he also makes some clueless moves.
There was an awfully huge heap of self-created angst thanks to Gwen and Reilly’s refusal to just talk to Gwen’s brother. I like some angst in my romance reading; obstacles overcome makes the HEA all the sweeter. But in Lucky Daddy I had to start skimming through the pages of introspection and hand wringing over the forbidden nature of any relationship between them. There were some inconsistencies in the story (one related to when Anthony learns of Reilly’s mother’s move). I also question naming the story Lucky Daddy, which implies that a greater portion of the story related to parenthood, and really disliked the constant use of “ye” to denote Reilly’s Irish roots. This one little word kept distracting me and created a mental burp before I could go on.
This story just dragged on too long with too much waffling and self flagellation; even the frequent, passionate clinches could not make up for the foolishness of this couple.
I read a complimentary copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
An fantastic wonderful rollercoaster of emotions awesome story. This interesting amazing storyline has drama, deception, passion, lust, love, sadness, steam and a happy surprise. The characters are well developed, interesting, realistic, and have amazing chemistry. A must read. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
Reilly has secretly been in love with Gwen for years but never acted upon it out of fear that it would destroy his relationship with his best friend, Gwen’s brother, Anthony. He pushed her away to the point that she thought he couldn’t stand to be around her. Gwen is in love with Reilly but has no idea he feels the same until she loses her job and has to move back home. Reilly can’t hide his feelings any more and decides to go for it. The story gets slightly convoluted from here on out. One or the other of the characters is flip-flopping, Reilly’s Irish brogue comes and goes or is used incorrectly, and the “wife by St Patrick’s Day” plot seemed out of place in this story.
Despite that, I did enjoy the book. The story is cute. The characters are likable and they truly do have chemistry. I would definitely read more by this author. My rating is 3.5 stars.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
Great emotional read. This was a second chance romance. Gwen and Riley made a wonderful couple. I enjoyed the storyline and the way it unraveled. I recommend it to all, it is a must read. I received it and voluntarily left my review.
I wasn’t blown away by the plot or characters so for me it was just okay. Reilly and Gwendolyn still has some maturing to do and I think their sneaking around turned me off of the story. The solution for their imagined problem was easy enough to fix and it just got prolonged for no good reason. It has some interesting parts so it’s worth reading, especially when it comes to her brother, Anthony. Interested to see how that plays out.
Gwen and Reilly both have feelings for the other. Gwen loses her job the same day Reilly’s grandfather dies. She knows she can’t make the funeral so she texts Reilly to gives your condolences. Reilly and Gwen text back and forth on her trip home and then one night he calls her drunk and makes his claim on her. When she does arrive home she meets up Reilly when he comes to her welcome home party. They start seeing each other secretly before telling her brother about them. Reilly doesn’t want to lose his friend so he ends things with Gwen. Then a family emergency happens drawing everyone together. Will Gwen give Reilly another chance at her heart?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
