For a quick easy read with some romance tied in, this was a good one. I like the spin where the lead has to play someone different, in this case a man and it was empowering for women instead of degrading.
Never foresaw the next steps as readily as usual. The two key protagonists are very real and worth getting to know. I would definitely recommend the book. The settings and time period are in line and help one understand how life for young women was so restrictive. Seeing the female lead move forward and work to control her life was a great pleasure. Aswell as seeing good people portrayed along her journey.
An amusing light read for one of those times when you want to read and be entertained.
I thought it was ridiculous.
It was different and the characters were interesting enough to want to see how they resolved their problems. I enjoyed this book enough to look for other books from this author.
ANY LUKY BOOK IS GREAT. REMINDS ME OF JANET EVONEVICH BOOKS.
light hearted – easy read
Very enjoyable reading!
Good twist to the old England Romance stories. Well written and I just wanted to keep reading! I enjoyed this one!!
Difficult to believe that a woman can dress as a man and not be discovered during the Regency era. Was disappointing.
I loved the characters. This is a recommended read
I enjoyed this book so much. I would like to read more about these characters and what followed with each. Each was a rich character that should be expanded.
Not my favorite, it seemed too illogical and unrealistic for the time period.
It had a very strong female protagonist. Very enjoyable period fiction.
Rare romance that portrays a woman successfully competing in a man’s world.
very good!!
I very much enjoyed this book. I liked the author’s writing style, setting and character descriptions, and unexpected story lines. The book was a page-turner for me, and I had to make myself put the book down. My rating is a solid 4; I am saving my 5 star reviews for who-knows-what-type of book.
A heroine with some gumption who successfully adapts to difficult situations. Better than average plot.
Fun read. Bet is a delightful character. Enjoyed the story although it’s farfetched considering the time period it’s set in
a really nice love story and the heroine made the harder but smarter choice!
