Lucky Boucher never has to go looking for trouble. Trouble finds her just fine on its own. What do a dead clown, an elephant, and a black cat have in common? If you guessed me, you’re getting really good at this. The circus has come to town, y’all, and I couldn’t be happier if I were twins. Unfortunately, because of a recent development with the grouchy ex-FBI agent that has become my shadow, I have … ex-FBI agent that has become my shadow, I have to sit this one out. That is, until a clown is crushed by Lola the elephant, and not by accident. That’s when Miss Haddy, the oldest and most rambunctious resident in all of Salty Springs, calls me in to help find the killer.
As it turns out, circus folk aren’t very welcoming to outsiders, so there’s only one way to identify the culprit—go undercover. As a bona fide knife-throwing, cat-wielding performer. Sounds like a dream come true, right? Well, as with the majority of my endeavors, this exploit doesn’t exactly go off without a hitch. In fact, this time there are stitches involved. Not in good places. And not just for me.
But the big question remains: Do I catch the killer?
You’ll just have to brave the series of wild mishaps that is my life to find out.
*Each book can be read as a stand-alone, so feel free to jump right in! *

So. I do not like clowns. But for Lucky and Liam I will brave anything. So in I went and it’s really no surprise but of course the story delivered. Lucky is my hero. She is just such a light and so unflappable and I think we could all learn a bit from her. She doesn’t let anything get her down and she perseveres. And I have to mention Liam, who basically holds my heart in his hands now. He is so grumpy, but has a heart of gold and he is so sweet and so good. And I say it in every review, but the banter between Lucky and Liam is phenomenal. I love how they play off one another and my gosh do I ship these two. This time around Lucky and Liam are on the case of a murdered clown and have to go undercover in the circus, which if you’ve met Lucky before then you know how this is gonna go. There are twists and turns and lots of crazy along the way while Lucky and Liam catch a killer in the most unconventional of ways. *sigh* I’ve just really come to love this town and these characters and the moment I get the next book in the series I am just so ready to dive in. It’s like coming home and visiting old friends. What I really have come to love about these books is just how silly they can be but how it’s also so full of heart. Lucky and the Crushed Clown is just so good and these books are some of my favorites this year.
Lucky is definitely at it again….!!
I love these cozy mysteries – and Lucky reminds me of myself way too much for me not to enjoy these. Lucky is asked to assist with the latest death/murder – this time at the Circus with a clown who has been crushed by the elephant! *gasp* She has been trying to avoid Liam over the last several weeks after he kissed her – which in the past has always been the beginning of guys becoming way too obsessed with her. Thankfully, Liam does not seem to be suffering from this affliction, and they go undercover at the circus as knife throwers. This part was HILARIOUS!!! OMG – and of course, she also tests products for her best friend Regina.. so she is doing this while her face is painted like Day of the Dead which wont come off due to the face primer she is testing. This book is set around Halloween (my favorite holiday!!) and I thought the part where she accidentally terrifies the mom and kid was fantastic!!!
Felonious is back as well, but how does Lucky know that who she has met is really Felonious????? She’s never met the teenaged hacker. This is one character I think is hilarious and what she asks as payment is the best!!
The romance with Liam is a slow burn, and I am highly anticipating the next book to see what happens there!!!!
I recieved an ARC of this book for an honest review!!
Love this series! What a wonderful Author! You won’t regret reading this series!
