I’m good enough to protect her.I’m good enough to die for her. But, I’m not good enough to touch her?I may be the Vice President of the Ravens Ruin MC, but her brother, the President, has given all of us orders that she’s off-limits.It’s for the best, really. The demons in my past love to play with pretty little girls like her.
“My hands are trembling with rage and the urge to prove to her just exactly what my demons feed on.”
I met the characters while reading Sins of the Father and was very intrigued to learn the VP’s secrets. I knew he was attracted to the club president’s baby sister and that forbidden aspect was a delicious treat to look forward to.
I already knew that he, along with her brothers, believed that no man was good enough for her. She was especially off-limits to the club members. But tell that to her heart. It had been beating for him since she was a young girl and no other man did it for her. How many times can she suffer rejection before she finally accepts it and moves on?
He’s badass and doesn’t bat an eye at any of the dirty deeds he’s had to perform as part of his club duties. The only thing he fears is himself. He’s got some demons rattling his cage that keep him from trusting himself with a woman, especially her. Are you as curious as I was to learn what he’s hiding?
Of course, I’ve been rooting for this couple ever since I got my first clue they had the hots for each other. I sure wasn’t expecting to have to work so hard that I strained my mental matchmaking muscle. That stubborn, sexy biker is determined to follow his head instead of his heart.
Confession, it was the ‘girl-time’ that I enjoyed the most in this story. The women are fearless and hilarious when they get together. I would so love to join that sisterhood. As with the previous stories, the author teased me with a glimpse into future possibilities that pushed my imagination into working overtime. I know I’m not the only one, right?
Briar and Molly was Introduced in the first book and I was very intrigued by him and Molly. Their relationship had me second guessing myself but as you’re reading their story, you’re completely gone over them. Those two captivated me so much, you can see the love, the struggle. But they overcome every obstacl, Miss Marie James you did it again, amazing read!
Briar and Molly show when you know you n ow. You root for them but aren’t sure if TJ and Lynch will accept their relationship. Briar’s sacrifice is inspirational but Molly’s fight and grudge for their relationship is real and makes you push for them to work out
Wow! Briar and Molly had my heart the whole time in this story! I was so frustrated and excited for both of them! Who wouldn’t want someone to love them like that! I wanted to scream for Molly and I’m not gonna lie, I wanted Briar to beat TJ’s a—! Marie James this MC series is amazing and I can’t get enough!
Tracey – Life Reads With Friends Blog
This book revolves around Briar and Molly. Briar is Lynch’s best friend and VP of the Ravens Ruin MC. Molly is Lynch’s sister whom Lynch only sees as his kid sister that needs to be protected regardless that she is 18. With the way they were raised it somewhat understandable that Lynch would like to see Molly have a life outside of the MC away from the drug business, danger, and promiscuous bikers. Lynch sent Molly to boarding school but she was still around the club enough growing up to know what the goes on in the MC. Molly life has never been normal and she has some of her own personal demons to deal with. Speaking of personal demons, Briar took a vow of celibacy when he joined the club. It’s mentioned quite often in the previous two books with no hint of an explanation. The two things I was most excited for with this book was to finally find out what drove Briar to choose a life of celibacy and to see how Briar and Molly would explore their feelings for each other. If Briar would give up his celibacy for her or if Lynch would kill him before he had the chance. You’ll need to read it for yourself to find out.
Let me first say I love the best friend’s sister trope. This MC Romance, Luck of the Devil, takes that to the extreme. And it is so good! I love Briar and his love, Molly. They have great chemistry and unwavering, steadfast, pining love for one another. I really enjoyed the continuing story line from Book 1, as well, and look forward to reading the next book in the series, Dancing With the Devil. Looking for an excellent MC Series, look no more! 5 Stars!
I have loved all of this author’s works in the past and see no reason why I will not in the future, but for some reason this story seemed to drag it’s feel just a little bit and took me a while to get vested in it. But of course once I did, it was rough riding all the way through and at many points in this story I wanted to take TJ’s knife and poke one or more characters in the butt with it to get them to jump into gear and do something about their situation!! YES!! The lead characters in this particular story had me wanting to do them physical harm for not just coming out and saying something, especially Molly who would be safe from her brother’s wrath, but then there was her fear for Briar that held her back. Still, they made me want to pull my hair out! And then it happens. Nope, not going to tell you because if you don’t read it yourself you wouldn’t believe me.
Another wonderful read (although a bit of a slow starter for me), the story was well executed and delivered the payload on a dirty cement platter! This is a rough riding series, and this book is no exception! Highly recommend!
Briar and Molly’s story is my favorite in this series. I felt more of a connection with them. Their journey isn’t an easy one but fate will find a way if it’s meant to be.
I am loving the Ravens Ruin MC series and I absolutely can’t wait to read TJ’s story.
Molly is an MC princess, Briar is the MC Vice President. He’s sworn to protect her with his life if necessary. But when hearts get involved the game changes.
The rules are “nobody touches Molly”
But rules were made to broken…..right?
Marie James gives us amazing characters with an amazing storyline. Grab yourself some of these Raven Ruin MC boys….they are hot!!
I loved this book that is about the VP of Raven’s Ruin and the Princess of Raven’s Ruin (President sister). You saw how they danced around each other in the first book. I loved the devotion that Briar had and you could tell that he loved Molly. They had to get through a lot in order to be with each other, but you saw in the end how much Briar loved Molly and how devoted he is to the club. For Molly being so much younger she was mature for her age. Their love was a slow burn instead of a fast pace which was nice for a change. It seemed very real and honest, there are some heated scenes but not has much as there has been in other books which I was good with because their story just sucked you in and you couldn’t look away. Loved being able to get to know all the secondary characters also. Can’t wait for more books in this series to learn more about them also.
From the minute i read Sins of the Father i was enthralled by Briar. I couldn’t even imagine the reasons he’d remain celibate with all the women around him constantly throwing themselves at him…for a decade. The first thing I thought was man…this man is strength personified….not only physically but mentally as well. Molly will test his patience at ever turn. But he can’t break the rule…the dictate that no one and Lynch means NO ONE touches his sister. How do you reconcile having strong feelings for someone you KNOW you can’t have…along with a dark, painful past. Club life isn’t for everyone, but Molly has been raised as a Princess of the Ravens Ruin….will she ever find her own love? Once again, not your feel good MC but in the end, super satisfying (and hella steamy) read.
A intense and dark read. It’s full of angst and twists. I enjoyed the connection and the hot chemistry between the characters. I enjoyed reading their story as it unraveled. A great storyline and addition to this series.
Hands Off The Sister!!
Another fantastic book by this author who knows how to write dark and dirty biker books!! This is Briar and Molly’s story and it’s a story of forbidden love. No one is to touch the Ravens Ruin’s MC princess not even her brother’s best friend Briar. Lynch is the Prez of the club with his best friend Briar is the acting VP and they have done the unthinkable numerous times but this is their club life…a life Lynch doesn’t want for his sister.
Molly’s love for Briar is one she is willing to risk everything for but is Briar willing to go against the “off limits” rule when it comes to Molly? This is another dark and twisted story that is out of this world. I can’t wait for TJ’s story next!!

We meet Briar and Molly in books one and two of this series. Briar is the monk of the MC and you pretty much figure out he loves Molly and vice versa but her brothers and more are keeping them apart.
In typical Marie James style you get a ton of angsty goodness and alpha maleness. You feel the internal torture and struggle Briar endures. This book is dark like the other two books in the series but not as bad. It is right there, even talked about, but the scales are just not tipped that far.
The last book was very sexual but this one wasn’t. Mainly because Briar is celibate but there could have been more sensuality. I mean if Molly was looking to seduce him so much instead of blatant sexual contact she needed to use sensual communication. Just my opinion. Another opinion, highly disappointed in Briar’s backstory. It isn’t anyone’s business but when he starts telling Molly a little more would have been nice. Heck all of us would have liked to have known more. Sorry but the book loses points for that storyline shortfall.
The next book is the end of the series and I hate it cause there are other characters worth exploring. Such colorful characters that are so very different and interesting. Oh well. On to TJ’s story.
Ms. James amazes me how her books always seem to outdo one another. Her flare for words, her unique intriguing storylines keep me on high alert for any new books that she produces for us. If you haven’t read Ms. James, she is a must. From her contemporary books to her MC books (and a lot of other inbetween) she is simply an outstanding story teller and Luck of the Devil is no acception. Kudo’s Ms. James for a job well done.
For Molly, growing up the kid sister to the Prez of the Raven Ruin’s MC (Lynch) is no picnic. Being the club Princess, everyone has been warned to stay away from her. She is OFF LIMITS and everyone knows that Lynch will literally “lynch” anyone who disobeys and disrespects him or his direct orders. However, Molly as other ideas. She has been in love with Briar since she was 14 and she is determined to make him see her as more than just his best friends little sister, no matter the cost.
As for Briar, the club’s VP, he is secretly crazy about Molly. But the club is his life and he won’t go against Lynch’s orders. Not to mention his dark past. There is no way he would subject Molly to his wicked ways. So he watches and protects her but that’s all. He pushes her away at every turn, telling her to find someone worthy of her. But how long can he resist the sassy woman of his dreams, knowing to have her is an instant death sentence.
Luck of the Devil is much more than just a forbidden love story. This is a thrilling storyline with gripping mc action. The club is still dealing with the cartel, the mexicans and a few other “club matters” which will keep you turning the pages. This is a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book of this phenomenal series where we get the twisted little brother TJ’s story. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for Luck of the Devil: a book/series that I Highly Recommend.
This book had my emotions everywhere from wanting to smack some characters around to laughing to crying.
Marie James did it again, with another amazing book.
I loved Briar and Molly, even though they had difficult times you could see they loved each other.
I highly recommend this book.
What an emotional roller coaster. I just love the characters. Even though I got upset with a couple of them. This book is dark and sexy. I can’t wait to read what happens next.
While reading Sins of the Father, I was watching the very slow dance of Briar and Molly taking place. So quietly that it was missed by others, but none the less, I watched. I loved that the slow dance between Briar and Molly continued in Luck of the Devil. And then, it picked up ever so slowly. Almost a tease. For Briar? For Molly? For those at the club? Definitely a tease to me! And then there was the heart palpitations, the threat of them being discovered! Alllll of this taking place while the life of the Ravens Ruin MC carries on, doing business, cutting deals, chillin’ at the clubhouse. This is the one book of the Ravens Ruin MC series that you want to read again. Not to devour, but to slowly ingest, to savor! To watch the smoldering spark turn into a raging fire! And the ending couldn’t be more perfect! It scared me, but I loved it!
This book reminds us that romance books are just like life. They aren’t cookie cutter stories and that sometimes it’s a rough, gritty road to your happiness.
For the MC Princess and the Vice President, their path to happiness was riddle with obstacles. Molly’s brothers and Briar’s past being the biggest ones.
Could Briar overcome his demons and prove that he would die before causing Molly pain? Because sometimes you have to go to the depths of hades before you are able to make that climb to your happy ending.
The second book in the Raven Ruins MC was worth waiting for! Briar and Molly belong together but Briar knows she’s off limits. Their story has a lot of twist and turns, lots of steam and kink. Definitely a 5 star read!
