Thiis author never fails to amaze me.
Her stories are full of emotions, suspense, romance, humor and HEAs.
The story and the plot took me right in, I was there with them.
I liked this series.
Luck of the Billionaire (Billionaires of REKD Book 2) was a good read by Donna K. Weaver. Kayn never thought that a murder would lead him to find love. He was happy with the life he has until his sister is threatened by the men who killed her husband. He hired Sona to be a decoy for his sister. They never expected the adventure that they would go on together and that they would fall in love. I loved reading Kayn and Sona’s story and can’t wait to read more by the author.
Just knew this one was going to be good because when someone protests love and marriage as adamantly as Kayn does you just know he is going to fall as hard as he does. Who knew it would it take her sister losing her husband and needing a double and hiring Sona as her double to find just the one. Add in her Irish grandmother and her dying wish to visit her homeland and finding her sister and all bets are off. Too bad he messes it all up and leaves them in Ireland. Will he figure it out before it is too late? I really liked this one and got to virtually visit my favorite country. Take me back please!
Another good story, #2 in a series
The story was cute, sweet, just what I was expecting it to be. The narration struggled at times, but that is to be expected with as many different accents as were needed for this story.
The characters were enjoyable, especially Granny.
An amazing standalone in an incredible series of 4 bachelor Billionaires and their chance at love. This sweet heartwarming romance is well written where love is a risk as they overcome their own emotional baggage that holds them back. The two characters have undeniable chemistry with similar strategies of how to deal with their issues. They have so much in common as far back as their parents and upbringing. This sweet addicting storyline has enough romance, intriguing, suspense, and plot twists it kept me addicted page after page. The narration was wonderful done easily navigating between each character while beautifully portraying accents and seem descriptions. Can’t wait for more on these Billionaires.
Enjoyed every aspect of this audiobook. Interesting and original storyline and wonderful characters that had realistic family issues. The performer’s character voices were well done and added to the story. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Luck of the Billionaire
Billionaires of REKD, Book 2
By: Donna K. Weaver
Narrated by: Vicki Pierce
Kayn hires Sona to impersonate his sister, Ahri after a murder attempt is made on her life. We meet them both in the first book of this series and I am so glad we get to hear their story. Sona and Kayn are spending more time together, and there is definitely chemistry. But Kayn has some commitment issues that hold him back. Will he be able to overcome them to find true love? This story has a little of everything for me. It’s a great love story with frustrating moments and building passion. But my real love of the book was the relationship between Sona and her grandmother. This really drew me in, maybe because I had a wonderful relationship with my grandmother. It’s heart warming, the trip to Ireland vivid and beautiful and the slow burn between Kayn and Sona ever smoldering. It’s a great listen, and made me fall for this billionaire!
Vicki Pierce does an amazing job with the narration of this story. From Kayn and Sona to the Irish brogue of family members, she is spot on with her emotions and inflections. I really enjoyed her performance.

Luck of a Billionaire is a sweet, inspirational novel with a good storyline and a great set of characters. Despite being part of the REKD billionaire saga, the book stands on its own, only including cameo appearances of protagonists from previous books. Ms. Weaver chooses to create a brand new slate of vivid and captivating characters all the while giving the story a completely different setting. While Kayn and Sona, the leading couple, both have interesting and intriguing personalities, many of the side characters are instrumental in creating the overall atmosphere of the book. Sona’s grandmother is probably the most important one, wise and compassionate, making controversial life choices and encouraging others to respect them.
Sona’s Irish family and friends are smart-mouthed, generous and loving individuals. They are a group of lively, picturesque and captivating characters. Finally, Joe, the wise bodyguard, deserves a mention as he steps in as the father figure that neither Kayn nor Sona ever had.
Although the storyline is deep, with plenty of bittersweet moments, the author does well to avoid excessive drama. It flows serenely, despite some difficult circumstances, leading the reader towards a sweet and optimistic finale.
Overall, Luck of a Billionaire is a pleasant and entertaining book that will pleasantly surprise Ms. Weaver’s readers and surely gain her some new, affectionate fans.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Opinions and comments are solely my own.
I really enjoy a good, clean romance. The fact that this was also a billionaire book made it even better. Sona and Kayn were the perfect couple. Ms. Weaver created endearing characters with an entertaining story line. I am really looking forward to reading more from her in the future.
The Luck of the Billionaire by Donna K. Weaver is one fantastic page turning book! This book drew me into the story and wouldn’t let me put it down. I had to read what happens. Would Kayn really walk away from Sona? This story kept me entertained until the end.
I loved that the timeline for this book overlapped with Rafe and Ahri’s story. It made me want to read their book again. This was a fun and touching story. I loved the characters, the secondary characters were great and added a lot to the story. Sona and Kayn are both wonderful people, but Kayn needs to work through some things before he can fully commit. This story took me through all the emotions. I laughed and cried and wanted to scream a few times. It was a fun read. I’m excited for this series and for Darius and Ezreals stories.
Out of all so far of the Billionare books this is my favorite. I love how Lorana Hoopes can take two people and build a great world and story around the two. Romantic, love, adventure, saddness all fit the bill here plus much much more. I just can not say enough for this story. It is one that will truely keep you reading and show you how much there is to love.

I received a free copy of the novel Billionaires of REKD book 2: Luck of the Billionaire aka Kayn’s story by Donna K. Weaver and this review was given freely.
Emotion packed with vivid descriptions and a happy ending. Programmer and partner in the multibillion gaming business REKD, Kayn aka brother of Ahri finds love but has a hard time accepting he is worthy. This is a poignant and heartwarming story spanning two countries relating Kayn and Sona’s struggles with finding love, inner peace, and family combined seamlessly with the current lives of REKD family.
This was a charming story about Kayn. Kayn is a hard worker that doesn’t have time for love or romance. He swears that he will never settle down because of the way his parent’s relationship played out. This book started out overlapping with the first book in the series, but it is definitely a stand-alone. Sona is working undercover as Kayn’s sister in NY. Kayn keeps up appearances by visiting Sona. I didn’t really notice the chemistry between Kayn and Sona until their unexpected trip to Ireland. I enjoyed how their story played out. Sona’s grandmother was a great addition to the story. This was good clean romance that slowly developed with entertaining secondary characters.

Luck of the Billionaire (Billionaires of REKD Book 2), my fourth read from author Donna K. Weaver and my second in the Billionaires of REKD Book 2. I was given an Audible copy of this book a year ago and am just now getting around to reading & reviewing it after reading 3 other books by the author this week. I’ll be reading more from her as I already own 12 more of her books. A well-written story from a very good author. Vicki Pierce’s narration adds to the enjoyment. No spoilers from me. You need to buy and read the book then leave a review. next up is For the Magic: Twickenham Manor Time Travel Romance, Book 3. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
I really enjoyed this book. It kept my interest. It was well written and performed. It was clean and heartwarming.I recommend it to all. I requested it and this is my voluntary review.
Kayn & Sona have much in common, computers, growing up money was a struggle, their fathers left each of them and their mothers were emotionally damaged because of it. Their strategies for dealing with it were similar as well. Throw themselves into school for Sona and work for Kayn. Where they differ is their willingness to put themselves out there for love. Sona had her grandmother to love her and show her that she is lovable. Kayn had his sister but felt nothing could overcome the risk. Can Sona & her grandmother show him love is worth every risk before it is too late.
A wonderful story of discovery.
Vicki Pierce did terrific job narrating and navigating the accents.
I recieved a free Audible copy, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
These two have a few things in common – being abandoned by their fathers. He lets it determine his future. When sparks fly she wants to take a chance on love but he feels too broken. Loved traveling with these characters – felt like I was really there. Loved her grandmother. An awesome grand gesture in the end.
A clean and sweet contemporary romance with some suspense, the story follows on from Hiding with the Billionaire and it is beneficial if one has read that book first. Sona is living in a luxury apartment as a decoy for Kayn’s sister, which allows her time to complete her studies ahead of schedule. Worried about her grandmother Sona asks Kayn’s permission to bring her on board as a housekeeper to the bodyguards, which he allows. When the danger threatening his sister is alleviated, Kayn realises that Sona no longer has any obligation to him and he has to find a way to keep her close, even though he has sworn off relationships, particularly those leading to marriage. Discovering that Sona’s grandmother wants to visit Ireland before she dies, Kayn arranges the trip, but in doing so finds himself more embroiled in Sona’s life than he wanted to allow himself. The story is gentle with a number of characters that all conspired to help Kayn change his mind about marriage. Although part of series, it is a standalone and comes to happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
